Joel Osteen: Apologizing for wealth is "almost an insult to our God"

Tonight's interview with Joel Osteen and his wife Victoria Osteen on "Piers Morgan Tonight" has already gotten attention for the best-selling author and pastor's statements about homosexuality.

But The Osteens tell Piers Morgan about wealth, and whether achieving massive wealth makes them feel guilty. Eric Marrapodi of CNN's Belief Blog post writes:

Morgan asked Osteen if he ever felt guilty for his wealth. He replied, "I don't ever feel guilty because it comes from – it's God's blessings on my life. And for me to apologize for God's – how God has blessed you, it's almost an insult to our God."

Osteen continued, “There is a religious – I call it a spirit or something that says we have to be poor and broke and defeated and sad to show people that we're really humble, and that we really love God. And I don't believe that. I believe God wants us to be examples of what it means to live for him. And that our money is to be a blessing to others.”

Osteen also talks about dating (before he was married), whether he drinks or smokes, who he voted for in 2008 and more. Check out the full interview tonight on CNN at 9pmET/PT.

I think that as long as the money is made from his work.. his books etc, we do not have a right to critcize him. He blesses so many people with his work for God. I think people undervalue the great work of these pastors, and the blessings they pass on to their congregants, although it cannot be measured in actual dollars, is invaluable.

We pay Donaly Trump for his work, we pay people for the good work that they do, why not pay Joel for a book or tape that he writes? He is a scholar, humanitarian, believer and pastor. I frankly do not think he gets paid enough!

Blessed? Who? Everyone that follows his interpretation of the *Holy Book* is *blessed*. Any one that does not follow him is a *sinner*. This clown is as bad as any left-wing PC apologist.

While Pastor Osteen's ministry continues to make a difference in the lives of many people, it is regrettable when he is asked by Piers why he is so successful in reaching people, that he does not give God the glory or credit for his God-given abilities. A major distinction between Pastor Osteen and Billy Graham is that Pastor Graham consistently spoke of the grace of God and focused all his attention and energy toward the Lord rather than to himself. For a Christian, it is all about the Lord, not us. Exodus 20:3 and Deuteronomy 6:5

Finally Michelle, someone who knows there Bible. I was just reading my Bible this morning and it was saying , "blessed are the rich for they are humbled and will fade away like the morning mist. The apostle Paul did not charge most churches for his preaching and he is the "most" influential writer in the new testament instired by God. The Bible says that we will be held accountable for everything including how we spend or use our wealth. How does he get so wealthy? Does he force his church member to direct deposit 10% or more into the church bank account. Who is paying all the bills and they are still filthy rich. Never ever trust anyone who smiles or laughs and giggles all the time. That is a lifelong, 40 + years learned experience. They are hiding a deep dark secret and are totally opposite than what they lead on to be. Billy Graham is a true Man of God/Jesus Christ that even his son Franklin will never compare. Another phoney. If God has blessed him so much then he should be blesing other's that are in need. "IF" people would read there bible's, and ones that they can understand like the, "new living translation, students study Bible" then they would see and hear what evil is going on and not be blinded by it.

      Hi Nina,
I am glad you have changed your point of view about Joel. I remember his being criticized for the price of his tickets on Ebay when in fact that's a secondary market. His tickets are usually around $15. Don't know why the change, but I agree with you.

Not sure why some are so critical of Joel. He is very honest and clearly states that he has not had the formal training that Rev. Graham has had. Joel Osteen is a wonderful motivational speaker who believes in the scripture and I think he gives God credit regularly. Good evening.

Well my friend you may like Joel Osteen however you should consider this, Jesus told his disciples to not take any money from the people they preached to but that He would supply their every need. Furthermore his prosperity gospel is found absolutely no where in scripture. As a matter of fact Jesus warned about the rich not getting into Heaven because of their love of money and wealth. Paul warned about the dangers of being wealthy. A Pastor that never preaches on sin, redemption, or conviction is not a God-Called preacher. Paul outlines how a God called preacher will preach in his lesson to Timothy when he said "preach the word in season and out of season. Reprove, rebuke and exhort with all long suffering and doctrine." There is no rebuke in Joel's preaching, there is no reproof in Joel's preaching, and there is certainly no Biblical Doctrine being preached at his church. He needs to remember that God is not only "Love" but He is also a "wrathful God" a "Jealous God" and a "God that is going to hold each and every person on earth accountable for the way they have lived. Especially Pastors. We as Pastor's will give an account for every word we spoke in and out of the pulpit. We will give an account of how we managed God's money within the church. We will all give an account for every message we ever preached and every lesson we ever taught. All I can say is that I would not want to be Joel on Judgment Day for I am afraid Jesus is going to say to him, "Depart from me you worker of iniquity I never knew you!"

I think Joel Olsteen deserves to be paid for his efforts. And He referrs to scripture on his opinion whether being gay is a sin. But it also referrs in the Bible that it is easier for a camel to pass through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God! Shouldn't he provide a large part of his wealth (perhaps 90%) to helping the poor, etc. Joel would still have much more money than he needs to live a comfotable life. After all he is in the Bible business, not the real estate business like Donald Trump!

The bottom line is he makes his money off of God. The money is Gods, not his.
The whole idea of the prosperity gospel is a perversion of the word. Jesus commanded his disciples to go in the world with nothing.
Wealth is Mammon, a Chaldee or Syriac word meaning "wealth" or "riches" :

Matthew 6:24 No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon.

More importantly he spends his wealth on the pleasures of the world. Comfort and luxury.

1John 2:15 Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him.

"I have so much wealth, what can I do to keep it? I know, I will tear down my barn and then build a bigger one to store my great wealth." >Wow what a fool that guy is! For his very life will be exacted from him tonight. Then who will get his wealth to keep, and how will it then be worried over? I do know for sure > If your actions are to pile your stack high and turn you neighbor out to die, you are a servant of mammon my dear-lost-error-filled-captive. Anyone baptized by Christ knows just what I'm saying. If not then keep praying. And if your eye is not clear then how dark are you inside? That Osteen needs to find and get through the narrow gate. Wake up people! He is not Christ, don't look about for Christ, being drawn by sensational chatter. Rumor says he's found all over the place, almost everywhere, but when he does come to you there will be now doubt at all > Just life freely given, shaken together, and spilling over into you lap. Praise the Lord for all of you guys who know your Bibles. How can you make comments about Christianity when you don't read God's word. If you don't put on the full armour of God, satan, who walks about like a roaring lyon will tear you apart. This guy is not only dead but doubly dead, pulled up by the roots.
Any one who calls themselves the ark angle is really full of them selves. And you are waaaaay wrong. Paul says the it is definetly our responsibility to judge those in the church. He also says that if they are caught sinning that they are to be made examplples of so others will have the fear of God and what might happen to them. ONce again, a little truth mixed in with some lies is harder to detect than an ourright lie. Use http://www.biblegateway.com to search for "sin" and "judge" from Romans to Jude. It's there. I just scares me to no end that someone would refer to themself as an arkangle or even an angle. Angle's are fellow servants such as us and are not to be worshiped. Look that up too. Just put in Angle. Also, "none of us is righteous, no not one." Just put in righteous. We all deserve to go to hell. None of us are angle's. If we were born on this planet, then we deserve to die and go to hell. Only by the Grace of God can we be saved. Not Joel Ostein.

      Well Ms. Nina,
You need to read your Bible dear. I have been a Pastor a lot longer than Joel Osteen and I will tell you this. The Bible never teaches that any Pastor should live in a 12.5 Million Dollar home and be worth 40 Million Dollars. That is far from what the Bible teaches. God is totally against any one having that much money and not using it to help the poor and the needy. Sure he and his wife may give some money to charity but you will never find where God never spoke any thing but bad things about the rich! He constantly teaches that the rich are suppose to share all they have and build treasures in Heaven. Joel will find out one day that he was dead wrong with his prosperity gospel message. We as Pastor's are suppose to preach with conviction and authority on the dangers of sin in their lives and let people know that God is a righteous Judge who will judge all men one day for the way they live on earth. God is a loving God like Joel preaches but he does not tell the whole story. God is also a wrathful God and a jealous God. Joel will surely feel the wrath of God on day for the way he preached his false doctrine and they way he wasted God's money. We are commanded to be good stewards of God's money not spend it on 12.5 million dollar homes, that is blasphemous to say the least.

The fact that through the shrewd use of the process he has succeeded in gaining tax free status as a "preacher" I commend as, truly, a work of art in term sof using the system. He certainly is not preaching a religious message. He doesn't refer to the Gospels, Jesus, by name, sin, forgiveness or any of the most basic precepts of the Christian faith. What he does do is provide exactly what what the lost legions of sheep in the world want: a pep talk and being assured that they're "OK". And turn their dollars in at the door they most certainly do. Actually, if it wasn't so sadit might be comical. Life is so short and it is short for this guy as well. Ultimately, he'll answer for his actions as we all will; and he wont be able to grease the palm of St Peter to get into Heaven on a free pass.

Well my friend a lot has been said about Joel in the past but all I know for sure is that He is preaching a false "prosperity Gospel" which you will find no where in the Bible and He also will have to give an account for every message He has delivered to the folks at his church one day soon when Jesus returns. The messages he preaches are sometimes relevant but the fact that he does not ever preach on repentance and sin is a bad mistake since that is what we as Pastor's are called to do by Jesus himself. Do not get me wrong when Paul instructed Timothy to "preach the Word in season and out of season. Reprove, rebuke and exhort with all long suffering and doctrine," he meant that we are to preach some "encouraging messages" but also some messages on sin and repentance to let people know how Jesus expects us to live in this world. Without some grace mixed with rebuke in our preaching we are not following the example Jesus left us to follow. On top of that no Pastor is ever suppose to have an enormous amount of money to live on in this world because Jesus clearly told His disciples that when they traveled from place to place to preach that they were suppose to let each house furnish what they needed to live on from day to day. Joel is not alone in his deception however many false preachers are out there today simply preaching for the money and they will all have to give an account to the Chief Shepherd on day soon and then they will find out that those of us who have been trying to get him to change are right after all..

I'm not christian (or religious) but I can tell you that if I'm wrong, and god really does exist, I'll probably get to heaven before any of these rich Christians who wage war while proclaiming how much they love their fellow brother.

There a saying I heard once "Money begets worry" & its true. People would be better off, especially Preachers who believe God will supply all their wants" if they just had enough money to live a reasonable life. I mean you can only eat three meals in a day unless you're a "Gorge,er...you only need one bed to sleep in unless you're 9'0 x 9'0 in height & you only need one house to make your home, as what more space do you want unless your family numbers a football crowd Any more than that...& it's greed. I am a Christian too but I am very disheartened by how many Christians use the scriptures and their faith for personal gain and to put down other fellow people who don't have the same views or identical beliefs. Jesus showed by example, not by condemning others/ That is what made him and the gospel messages so inspiring. Joel doesn't spend much time on the gospels which is the essence of Christianity. I think he is a good man but he spends too much time on what makes him money! I am totally turned off by most of the political right because they choose which part of the scriptures suits their views and ignore other biblical references. While Joel can certainly inspire people he is an inspirational speaker rather than a pastor. He does not have the credentials of a reverend. But he has used his religious and inpirational messages to make a lot of money. He is a religious entreprener like doctors have become entrepreners in milking the healthcare system. According to scripture, what he does as a person and with his wealth will determine how God will judge him!

Funny how this minister claims to be a Christian yet is ignoring one of Jesus Christ's most basic teachings about following Him. Found in three places in the New Testament, Holy Bible, Jesus says that money/wealth are prohibitive in being a follower of Jesus Christ. Matthew 19, Mark 10 and Luke 18 all state (that it's repeated three times in three different Gospel books hints at its importance) that one should sell their possessions, give to the poor THEN follow Jesus...that giving away what keeps a person from following Jesus in heart is true happiness. Being poor, i.e., sad, and defeated, is NOT part of Christianity but wealth is a bigger problem. Either one chooses Jesus or chooses wealth, cannot choose both. And, obeying Jesus brings great joy therefore poverty is not a burden.

A few observations: a. Andrew your statements about not believing in God are nullified once you used the scripture, "money is the root of evil." You can't use that verse that is spoken by the mouth of God if you don't belive in God. That's a contradiction.

    b. gretchen, the whole premise of the Bible and the life of following Jesus is to first love God with all of your heart and to love others as yourself. WIthin that, as believers, we are called to worship God and obey Him with whatever we are asked to do. The Bible is full of worship, sacrifice and obedience. Other than the Lordship of Christ and the infallibility of scripture which are non-negotiables, Once we get legalistic and start following principles as oppossed to the Person, than we have lost the truth of the Gospel. If God asks us to be poor, than we better be poor and give Him all the glory. If He asks us to have wealth and have influence in that area, than we better do that too and give him the glory. The Truth is this. I belive in Christ crucified for my sins and I am saved once i reiceive that and in His resurrection. Jesus loves us so much, we have the honor to serve Him in all capacities at all times. We are to edify our brothers and sisters and love God first and love the people around us like Jesus would. The two most important commandments from Jesus.

On the issue of money and riches..
Jesus Christ looks at what’s in our hearts.
He discerns our deepest thoughts, and the pre-thoughts of our pre-thoughts of our pre-thoughts of our pre-thoughts of our pre-thoughts and so on and on and on.. So far ahead, that for us it would be totally inconceivable to possibly even grasp, or imagine, much less conceive how far ahead. Again, on the issue of money and riches, Jesus Christ looks at what is in our hearts. “And for that, and many, many other very good reasons, it is always highly recommended to be totally honest with Him at all times.. As we will all face Him someday, as in likely very soon.

Lets see, Jesus lived in a Multi Million Mansion, Private jets, expensive cars, culinary chefs, hundreds of shoes, clothing, diamonds and other luxurious living conditions. While his followers begged the streets! I rather be an Atheists, than profess any false prophets to steal from the poor. But, I will live the Life as Jesus wanted us to live. And, not give to false prophets...for they talk from the demon himself.

Piers Morgan needs to redeem his worth as a journalist and interviewer by allowing somone on his show that is intelligent and educated and not a bigot as this self proclaimed minister boasts. Piers is a huge disappointment to me as a avid follower of CNN. This mnister insulted not only the gay community but their families and their friends. How dare he pass judgement on people. He is not God. There is only one judger in this world and I don't think I have seen this minister walk on water. Piers you need to allow someone to defend this man's insults, someone like Ellen, Rose, Neil Patrick Harris, Brad Pitt, Angelina Jolie, any of these amazing people who are not bigots and would never insult anyone like this minister did. You really lost me as a viewer Piers Morgan, I will not watch your show again unless you allow someone to speak on behalf of all the wonderful loving and genuine people in the world who live good lives and are do not deserve this rubbish this minister said on your show

Besides, if he calls gays sinners because it is on the scriptures, then he is a bigger sinner for not following what Jesus said on Matthew 19:21: "If you want to be perfect, go, sell your possessions and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. Then come, follow me."

Well, he is not doing that, so he is a bigger sinner!! Besides, gay people are God's creation, not life choice. God does not make mistakes, so gays are not sinners for being born this way.

The gospel of Jesus is not a prosperity gospel nor is it an adversity/poverty gospel...it is a gospel for all people in every walk of life, the rich and the poor and everyone in between. You don't have to be poor to be a follower of Christ and you you're not excluded if you're rich. Gretchen, in the scripture references you quoted, Jesus is challenging the rich man to give everything away because he valued his wealth above God and people. The man loved money more than God! Salvation isn't dependent on giving away every possession, or paying for your seat in church...but on Jesus' sacrifice on the cross and trusting in that. Once we receive salvation, following Him for some may mean giving everything away, but that may not be the case for others. For example, If God blessed someone with great wealth and that person is a good steward of that wealth (blessing the poor, giving generously, etc) it will honor and glorify god greatly. Bottom line, we are not the judge regarding matters of the heart, God is.

Joel Osteen says he doesn't judge, but that is exactly what he was doing on Piers Morgan's show by calling gays sinners – judging.
He talks about sins handed down in the Old Testament by people who were God-inspired, not God, as Christians believe Christ is.
If you're a Christian, you believe in the teachings of a seen and heard God, a God who walked amongst us. Anything Christ says supersedes anything written in the Old Testament by prophets, not by God. And Christ spoke to us about Two Commandments: "Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.
This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like unto it,
Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself.
On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets."

Just these two. So what Christ said was that we shall love God, self, and neighbor all the same (like unto it). Leave the judging entirely up to a God that most people really do not understand.
I believe we are on this planet to face a most difficult challenge: To love everyone the same, unconditionally. And there are obstacles aplenty in the way, as Christ says there should be.

Why then hasn't the Bible been redacted to omit these obvious screw-ups that God made earlier in His career? Heaven knows it's already been altered hundreds of times over the centuries (since God wasn't really sure of what He really meant when he spoke to Adam and Noah and Moses and those other guys, we had all kinds of religious leaders fix it up for Him).

Also, didn't Christ refute Old Testament passages (Ex. 21:23, 24; Lev. 24:19, 20; and Deut. 19:21) when He said in Matthew 5:38: "You have heard that it was said, 'Eye for an eye, tooth for a tooth." That's when He told us to turn the other cheek instead. I'll take Christ's word over yours.

I saw Oprah interview the physician in Connecticut whose wife and two daughters were murdered in their own home and the home was burned. He said he wondered what that leaves him to be, having lost everything. He is no longer a spouse; he is no longer a father and he has lost his home. It was very sad. Victoria would probably feel similar if she lost everything. Are there those who would not? What does that have to do with money? And your point is what?

Joel Osteen Net Worth around $40 Million in 2008 makes it very easy to preach to others that financial wealth is not that necessary. Joel Osteen is the Fortune cookie and should pay taxes on his millions. Lakewood Church’s income is greater than some states and should also quality for paying taxes.

I was ready to say goodbye to Larry, so I've been watching Piers a little and giving him a chance and I have to say, it would be helpful if he was just a little bit likeable – is he channelling Simon Cowell? I guess he thinks he has to do the 'edgy' schtick. He's no Anderson Cooper, John King, Wolf Blitzer, or Charlie Rose (you know, on the trusted network), so the least he could be is likeable. The thing is, THEY are all likeable. I'm a brit, so I get where he comes from, but after this time, I'm tuning out.

IT REALLY SEEMS THAT HE WANTS TO BE CONFRONTATIONAL ON EVERY LEVEL and it's really starting to annoy the crap out of me !!! his constant interrupting is sooo aggravating . it's like if they dont have the same opinion as he does or is not giving him the juicy story that he is soooo wanting for his ratings he's NOT happy so he'll constantly barge in on his guest answers and that's where it gives room for others to misunderstand what someone is trying to say if they're not able to finish the point they're trying to make or in this case.......if they're not able to finish the question period which many of the times was the case !! I mean really......LET THE PEOPLE TALK PIERS !!!!! IF YOUR AS GOOD OF AN INTERVIEWER AS YOU THINK YOU ARE .......then you should understand INTERVIEWS should be AT LEAST "50% questions / 50% answers" instead of this ongoing "90% piers questions and 10% quest answers !!!!!! Because why have a show at all if all we hear is YOU piers ?????? isn't that the whole point of having a talk show is to hear what the quest have to say to your questions ??? we don't JUST want to hear YOUR questions and/or comments........BELIEVE IT OR NOT, THE PUBLIC WOULD ACTUALLY LIKE TO HEAR THE QUEST ANSWERS TOOOO !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I see his wife wanted to get off the subject of money...when she got her chance to talk. Piers being a Catholic should have pulled him up when he said God gave the us the commandments "Love God & Love your brother" actually it was Jesus the son of God who gave those commandmants to his deciples. And also the wording was in mine & Piers Catholic religion "Love God & love thy neighbour as thyself". Another thing Jesus preached is that "It is harder for a rich man to enter the Kingdom of God; that it is for a caml to pass through the eye of an needle". Agreed. Piers missed that. Suffering from a mental illness has nothing to do with how a child is raised. If you really want to hear the answers to your very inciteful questions about Christianity and the love and grace of God, you need to have Franklin Graham on your show. It seams to me like you attack people when you interview them and it is very hard to watch you.

God is the creator of heaven and earth. The earth is the Lords and the fullness thereof. His word says that when you accept Jesus as Lord and savior that we are joint heirs with Jesus. Jesus is not poor. He is prosperous in every sense of the word. If your parents are rich, then you are rich. its your inheritance. As a child of God I am rich. Joel is blessed because he is doing what God has called him to do. he has taken the talents that God gave him and used them to gain wealth. why is so difficult to accept a christian minister to be rich. Actors and actresses are rich and even Piers is rich because they put their God given talent to use. Noone is questioning their wealth. or even a athlete getting paid millions to hit a ball or dunk a ball. that's acceptable but if a man or woman of God lives prospersously, then its questioned.

God doesn't need to be rich because he doesn't need to buy anything...& I don't know what Bible you read...unless you have written your own wersion. So read the TRUE one.

As for Piers, give him a chance guys, he's only in the job two weeks & already you want him to be a Larry King. That miracle is impossible...except if your God.

PS. No use thinking that Preacher is good enough to perform same such feat, is there?

I greatly appreciate the willingness to put someone professing to be a Christian on national television, but, Piers...next time would it be possible to get someone with sound theology who exhibits an understanding of the scriptures and has an ability to clearly communicate the gospel and not simply one's thoughts? Do let me know if you need suggestions...I have a few.

Kudos Piers Morgan!. First time watcher and I think you are great. You press this weasel con-job Osteen duo and they slither out with this excuse and that excuse. They sucker the ignorant by making them feel real good while they pick their pocket. Although not religious, I wonder what Tertullian, Origen, Diodore, Ignatius, Nestorius, Pelagius, Augustine (of Hippo), Luther, Zwingli, Calvin, just to mention a few, would think. Not to mention Jesus Christ, given that he really existed. One would think Christianity has gone all non-Apocryphal.....

I feel sorry for anybody that cant see through the fake used car salesman smile of Joel Osteen. P.T. Barnum once said "There is a sucker born every minute", and I'm afraid that is you. Of course you dont believe that, but the suckers never understand that they are the suckers. It's part of being the sucker. Joel Osteen is nothing more than Jim Baker and Tammy Faye / Jim Swaggart / et. al, repackaged in a better suit. Of course you dont see that and you donate to his mega church and buy his books. It's because you are a sucker.

I could never stomach CNN for more than 10 mins in the past. I must say, Piers has brought a fresh, non partisan perspective on american pop culture. This network does nothing but promote negative media and divide people based on political disposition. I am canadian, and being conservative, liberal or otherwise does not define our beliefs before hearing both sides of the issue. I think (but not sure), that Piers is on the same page. Good on CNN for hiring someone with an open mind, and no apparent alligence to political tunnel vision.

I agree with everything you said except the last line. I think Piers' interview with Joel was great and I very much admire Joel Osteen. Piers simply pushed back on him where others would not. I particularly agree that in the past the objective seemed to encourage people to be divided on political issues and some seemed to live for getting their words posted.
I think what Piers will need to focus on is making sure all of his interviews are equally provocative or equally not so provocative. For example, the interview with Oprah and Clooney was no where near the same type of interview as this interview with Joel. Having said that, I find Piers quite refreshing.
As for your last line, I think Joel is the real deal; some may simply not like him and that is their choice.

As children of God because of Adam and Eve's sins, none of us are perfect, therefore been gay should not be considered to be a sin, therefore I disagree with his bible.
Also, as a religious person, I do not believe in the death penalty because only God has the right to take our lives.

Piers Morgan is a JERK! He's not one of us - he's not an American and we don't appreciate his arrogant/pompous "ambush interview" approach to embarrass and humiliate Americans whom we love, respect and admire. Who hired this JERK anyway? Is he really supposed to take the place of Larry King? He probably thinks it's cool to ambush someone in an interview, but he'll only get away with that for a very short time. When other famous people see how he treats his guests, no one will want to appear on this show. I hate him! I especially hate the way he was so rude to Joel Osteen, who does nothing but good in this world and was too polite and gracious to tell Morgan where to go. I'd like to see Morgan with someone like Alec Baldwin on the show and see how far he'd get being so rude. He does not belong on this show. I hate this British invasion of all these British actors taking over American movies and TV shows and putting American actors out of work. Can you imagine Larry King going on a nationally televised talk show in England interviewing the Archbishop of Canterbury and skewering him? He would never do that, out of respect for another country and for someone highly respected by the English people. I hate Piers Morgan! Get him off this show! He does not belong on an American talk show - send him back to England!

These are sick people that would exploit people the way they do, even more scarey if they start having influence in our society. I can't see where Osteen has anything to do with religion or God. He's a businessman who's found a way to make money. He would be better off to call himself a motivational speaker and remove God and Judgement from the equation and just be honest about it. He could be like Tony Robbins or something but to abuse religion the way he is just doesn't make sense.

    RECALL NOTICE

This is totally amazing. Be sure to read it. Talk about clever and to the point!!!

Never heard it put quite like this before.....

    RECALL NOTICE:

The Maker of all human beings (GOD) is recalling all units manufactured, regardless of make or year, due to a serious defect in the primary and central component of the heart.
This is due to a malfunction in the original prototype units code named Adam and Eve, resulting in the reproduction of the same defect in all subsequent units. This defect has been technically termed "Sub-sequential Internal Non-Morality," or more commonly known as S.I.N., as it is primarily expressed.

    Some of the symptoms include:
    1. Loss of direction
    2. Foul vocal emissions
    3. Amnesia of origin
    4. Lack of peace and joy
    5. Selfish or violent behavior
    6. Depression or confusion in the mental component
    7. Fearfulness
    8. Idolatry
    9. Rebellion

The Manufacturer, who is neither liable nor at fault for this defect, is providing factory-authorized repair and service free of charge to correct this defect.

The Repair Technician, JESUS, has most generously offered to bear the entire burden of the staggering cost of these repairs. There is no additional fee required.

The number to call for repair in all areas is: P-R-A-Y-E-R.
Once connected, please upload your burden of SIN through the REPENTANCE procedure. Next, download ATONEMENT from the Repair Technician, Jesus, into the heart component.

No matter how big or small the SIN defect is, Jesus will replace it with:
    1. Love
    2. Joy
    3. Peace
    4. Patience
    5. Kindness
    6. Goodness
    7. Faithfulness
    8. Gentleness
    9. Self control

Please see the operating manual, the B.I.B.L.E. (Basic Instructions Before Leaving Earth) for further details on the use of these fixes.
WARNING: Continuing to operate the human being unit without correction voids any manufacturer warranties, exposing the unit to dangers and problems too numerous to list and will result in the human unit being permanently impounded. For free emergency service, call on Jesus.

DANGER: The human being units not responding to this recall action will have to be scrapped in the furnace. The SIN defect will not be permitted to enter Heaven so as to prevent contamination of that facility. Thank you for your attention!

    – GOD

P.S. Please assist where possible by notifying others of this important recall notice, and you may contact the Father any time by 'Knee mail'!

    Because He Lives!

They explain the life process that very few people know and understand. God has shown me all of the clues to solve the hidden mysteries in the scriptures that were deliberately hidden from the masses that would make each of us better human beings. Read the synopsis of my books on my web site. http://www.katakiospath.net and let me know where to send the books and I'll send you a copy so that you will understand the why's and how the principles back of all life works. I was recently in Europe viewing the great cathedrals where popes and potentates, such as Joel Osteen appears to be, once walked and spoke, yet the most moving experience I had was in a rock-hewn chapel on a hillside in Assisi where San Francesco (St. Francis) once secluded himself and a few friends to pray, meditate and sit in silent contemplation. It is important to remember that Jesus changed the world with 12 disciples and that theChristian scripture states, "where two or three are gathered.": We may be impressed by largess, but God appears to be content with small and faithful. That is worth contemplating.

How can a preacher forget all about Matthew 19:23-24, mark 10:24-25, and Luke 18:24-25. “Truly I tell you, it is hard for someone who is rich to enter the kingdom of heaven. Again I tell you, it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for someone who is rich to enter the kingdom of God.” Unless Joel Osteen repents, and gives up his wealth, I think it is very clear that according to the words of Jesus Christ, he will be refused entry into Heaven.

EVERYONE IS MORE INVOLVED IN BRINGING DOWN ANYONE WHO IS A CHRISTIAN THESE DAYS; PEOPLE SHOULD BE MORE INVOLVED IN BRINGING DOWN POLITICIANS WHO LIE AND CHEAT AND STEAL. THEY SHOULD NOT WORRY SO MUCH ABOUT POINTING ANGRY FINGERS IN INTERVIEWS TOWARDS SOMEONE WHO IS ONLY "READING AND SPEAKING THE BIBLE...SCRIPTURES..."...A PREACHER WHO PREACHES GOD'S WORD DOES NOT MEAN THAT HE HATES THE SINNER OR THE PERSON COMMITTING THE SIN...IF HE IS A TRUE CHRISTIAN HE WILL NOT SHUT HIS MOUTH ABOUT GOD'S SCRIPTURES...BUT HE WILL ALSO BE LIKE JESUS AND LOVE...NOT JUDGE...ONLY SPEAK WHAT GOD'S WORD SAYS. I LOVE MANY MANY PEOPLE WHO ARE GAY...I KNOW GOD DOES NOT APROOVE OF IT IN SCRIPTURE..BUT I LOVE THEM AND IT IS NOT FOR ME TO JUDGE THEM...NOR FOR THEM TO TAKE MARRIAGE FROM THE BIBLE IF THEY ARE NOT LIVING THE REST OF IT. MARRIAGE CEREMONIES ARE FOR THOSE WHO HAVE FAITH IN GOD...NOW..ARE THERE GAY MARRIAGES IN BUDHISTS, OR ISLAMIC OR ORTHODOX JEWISH RELIGIONS? DO HINDU'S HAVE GAY MARRIAGE IN THEIR FAITH? WHY BEAT UP THE CHRISTIANS FOR THEIR FAITH AND THEIR 5000 YEAR OLD SCRIPTURES? ALSO...IF IT IS OKAY FOR SOMEONE TO SAY THEY BELIEVE IN REINCARNATION OR TO WORSHIP SATAN...WHY IN THE WORLD WOULD ANYONE BE OFFENDED OR UPSET AT SOMEONE BELIEVING IN JESUS CHRIST OR IN GOD? PEOPLE FEAR GOD BECAUSE THEY REALLY BELIEVE IN HIM. THEY BEAT UP ON CHRISTIANS AND TAKE THEIR RIGHTS AWAY AND BASH THEM BUT NO ONE ELSE IN ANY OTHER RELIGION...WHY?

The Bible actually talks about this Christian bashing. Jesus said, ""If the world hates you, keep in mind that it hated me first." John 15:18 It seems that He was preparing us to be persecuted. It will get worse before it gets better and Christians need to be strong, hold on tight to our faith and not be swayed or turned away from the will of God. Remember it is the adversary's objective to turn Christians away from God. Don't be fooled and fall victim to the schemes. It's a good thing that we all know who wins in the end. Praise be to God!!

I have enjoyed your show the brief time it’s been on. Tonight I had to exit early. Joel Osteen seems to be an example of the sign of our times. It’s a sad state of our union when so many people will pay so much money to a smiling preacher to interpret reality for them in a way to give them hope. I’d be smiling just like Joel if I were able to use religion to extract so much money from so many people. I just don’t think I could get myself to do it. Please give us more interesting guests. Osteen is a slimeball, one in a long list of charlatans who feed their greed for power, popularity and money by exploiting fear. Their justification is always that they're doing God's work, as if they have, or want, a clue about what that is. The Hell that they use to augment others' fear and their own coffers awaits their arrival – and it can't be too soon.

This was my first time watching this show and I will never watch it again. This was clear Christian-bashing. Joel does not get to change what the Bible states. As Christians, we follow the Bible and use it as a guidebook for living. A person chooses whether or not to be a Christian and if you make the choice to be one – there are some guidelines that we are to follow. I am so tired of people bashing Christians for standing on God's word. I hope that true Christians stay faithful to God's word and not be moved by all of the bashing. Here are only a few of the many Bible verses on prosperity. Not only does God want us to be blessed in every manner, He can and will do exceedingly and abundantly more than we can even think or imagine.

John 10:10 – The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.
John 6:38 – Give, and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over, will be poured into your lap. For with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.”
Philippian 4:19 – And my God will meet all your needs according to the riches of his glory in Christ Jesus.
Colossians 1:12 – ...and giving joyful thanks to the Father, who has qualified you to share in the inheritance of his holy people in the kingdom of light.
John 16:23 – In that day you will no longer ask me anything. Very truly I tell you, my Father will give you whatever you ask in my name.

Really? That's not what my peers, colleagues, graduate degrees, GPAs, students that I teach (yes, I am a college professor), etc. tells me. And it's not what God thinks about me. Did I mention that I was labeled intellectually gifted as a child and was always at the top of my class? Not that this makes me better than anyone – I usually don't discuss my academic gifts or intelligence but since you just insulted me, I thought it should be brought up. Thank goodness your opinion of me is irrelevant. I understand that many people lack faith but don't insult me because I have faith in God and am a devout Christian. All I want in life is to please God and to serve His purpose for my life. And I thank Him for the many blessings and abundance that He has given me. Praise be to God!!!

I look at someone like Rich Mullins and think there is a man who knew Jesus. He similarly had many fans and people who bought his music, but what did he do with all that money ... he gave it all away and kept what an average american made at the time and taught music to kids on an indian reservation. He had an authentic joy and knowledge of Christ, and shared His love with all. Now you have Joel who honestly has no interest in giving it all away, and smears it in the face of the public that he shouldn't be ashamed. Doesn't seem like a genuine disciple of Christ. He looks like someone who is leading believers down the WIDE road.

Piers, you are a good interviewer, but you really must give your guests time to give a full answer. Your consistent interruptions are a disservice to your guests and viewers. We want your guests' complete responses, which take more than 15 seconds. Please just listen for their answers a little longer. That is the secret of great interviews. Thank you!

I love how she stumbled while saying she has "a fabulous children"...is that even good English??? How easy is it say you would still be happy if you had no money..........what a liar, if Joel were bankrupt tomorrow she would divorce him.

I do applaud them, as they have (along with others) found a way to get rich off the masses, in their case they made money off the weak and ignorant. Their followers are a bunch of turds, who probably are as arrogant as Joel since they think "well if my pastor is famous and rich, then what does that say about me"? "well I guess I have picked the right pastor therefore I am also smart and successful"!! What a bunch of idiots, why would anyone give money to another person to tell them what the bible says??? Just read it for yourself, and then live your life any which way you see fit. No where in the bible does it say you have to submit any money to a preacher and his collection of suits. wake up people.

I don't think that people think that the devil has a red cape. But yes, many will not recognize him. But a good indicator will be that he will be the person trying to turn people away from God, His Word and His will. He will be anti-Christ (anti-God) and try to make people think that there is something wrong with being a faithful follower of God. He will actually fool many and there will be a great apostasy (which has already begun).

My favorite part of the Bible was when Jesus spoke of the "Rims on my Escalade" as being "gifts of God". When he threw over the money tables in the Temple and was like, "You gave them DISCOUNTS!?" then docked his apostles a days wage for f***ing up his accounts. ... man I would have loved to be at one of his scroll signings to see how he felt about Osteen (after all, he knew the future).

“The most important one,” answered Jesus, “is this: ‘Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one.[a] 30 Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength ...

Folks, listen. I see a few types of comments. A) Judging Joel, B) Judging each other, C) Defense and Attack on each other's beliefs, and D) Standing on the WORD. Listen to me brothers and sisters, the beautiful part about life is our ability to have free will. YOU have the choice of one of two families – The family of the world, or The family of Christ. That part...there is no doubt (can agree to disagree if you choose, it is your free will and right to do so). However, as Christians, we are called "NOT" to judge, that includes Joel, Bill Graham, Barack Obama, and each other. Why are you allowing such a post to cause such comments of hatred, malice, envy, jealousy and self-promotion to come from your mouths? I see this from both families on this post. All of us must not judge, lest we be judged. Can gay people be Christian, yes. Can Murderers be Christian, yes. Can Adulterer's be Christian yes. Can Liar's be Christian, yes. Why? Because there is a difference between the "sin" and the "belief". What perplexes folks is that they judge the "act of sin" and make a determination on their destination simply based on "sin". We are called to crucify this sin every day. Do any of you think Paul, Peter, or John never sinned again after Christ left? Of course they did. This is why Christ was the ONLY non-sinner. In other words, no one should judge a gay person any different than someone who lied or is an idolater. Sin is Sin. We are called to be pacifists, and to stray from sin, and it is a life long commitment. We are called to love, not hate. Only The LORD can judge. May The LORD be praised, any know that I hate no one on this forum.....regardless if you hate me.

Anyone else find it a contradiction when Olsteen was asked how he felt about capital punishment and he was for it but right after that, he believed everyone deserved a second chance (referencing Michael Vick)? If you believe in capital punishiment, I don't believe you're thinking of giving anyone a second chance... I'm sure he (like everyone) has their lines that shouldn't be crossed but I wish Pearce dug deeper or at least picked up on that so he could elaborate.

      Lizzy,
Him making you feel better about yourself will not get you to Heaven. And that is the problem. That is why he is so popular. I understand the world is horrible right now and people need hope, but this is not the person to give it to you by lying to you and not preaching the truth according to God. You don't need Joel. You need Jesus and Joel does not preach Jesus or most anything else either actually found in the Word of God. He is not a man of God, he is simply a motivational speaker using God to fill his bank account.

Joel Osteen is NOT a preacher or a pastor in the name of Jesus Christ. He is a great TEACHER and INSPIIRATIONAL SPEAKER. If he were a minister of the True Gospel, he would preach the Saving Knowledge of God and His Son brought to us as a gift paid for by Christ's blood, which INCLUDES recognizing and denouncing all sin as defined in God's Word, and THEN going on to challenge the lost to accept salvation and REPENT FROM SIN and LIVE A RIGHTEOUS AND HOLY LIFE before God and men. I appreciate that he does not "bash" the sinner, but it is sin itself he should DEFINE AND PREACH AGAINST. By being careful not to step on any toes, he is not a soul winner and he guarantees himself the popularity to bring in his as yet secretive but acknowledged huge salary, whether from books or anything else. That which we gain here on earth for some people is ALL they will ever gain; no reward in Heaven as their rewards were given here. It should ALL be ABOUT JESUS, who He is, what He did, what He is going to do. Not about PROSPERITY in this life on this earth. "For me to live is Christ; and to die is gain," said the ultimate Preacher and Soul Winner, the Apostle Paul. Who had NOTHING on this earth, but a reward beyond imagining in Heaven.

Piers – I'm enjoying your new show. And also enjoy that you are asking challenging questions to your guests. I have a recommendation for a guest that may be able to offer some substance for some of the difficult questions you were attempting to engage Joel on. I would recommend that you invite Timothy Keller (pastor of Redeemer Church – I believe it may be one of the largest churches in NYC). If he agreed, I guarantee you would have some good discussions regarding some of the topics you were attempting to discuss with Joel. Tim Keller also is the author of one of the NY Times best sellers – The Reason for God. Well worth reading.

True Christians – be light to the world and pray for the nation daily, make a difference through the Holy Spirit who dwells in you.
Everyone else, debate until there’s nothing left in you to debate and then come back to the point A, same questions, accusations, help Piers get rich and CNN bring back their ratings. Let your kids play video games while you spend hours in front of TVs, so that when they grow up they’ll be completely detached, place your old selves in nursing homes and never visit you. But in truth, we all need to quit wrangling on each other, and these TV pastors, leaders of mega churches, etc. We should truly focus on our own lives, how to live them according to The WORD, and be examples (Children of Light, Ephesians) to our communities. The true Gospel soon became hidden after the death of Christ Gal 1:6. Gospel means Good Tale.
Satan was allowed to deceive the whole world Rev 12:9 until the woman of Rev 12 delivers the true word John 1:1 to the world at the heel of time Gen 3:15. The heel of time is of the feet of Dan 2:33 a time not long before the return of Christ.
It is written in Jer 31:22 that the Lord hath created a new thing in the earth, a woman shall compass a man. The man compassed is Satan (Isa 14:16).
The word is delivered by the prophet of Acts 3:22 For Moses truly said unto the fathers, A prophet shall the Lord your God raise up unto you of your brethren, like unto me; (him) shall ye hear in all things whatsoever he shall say unto you.
The word (him) is Strong's #846 and means she.
What was Moses like? Num 12:3. Moses and Elijah are together in scripture they are both in one prophet Luke 1:17 at the heel of time. This true word turns the hearts of the Father’s to the children.
I was raised up of the brethren of the lukewarm church Rev 3:16-17; the last church before the return of Christ. And it shall come to pass, that every soul, which will not hear that prophet, shall be destroyed from among the people Acts 3:23.
The true word is now going to the whole world as a witness at http://minigoodtale.wordpress.com and at http://thegoodtale.wordpress.com and at http://thegoodtale.blogspot.com

Preachers shouldn't enrich themselves at the expense of God. The role of the preacher is to spread the word of God and practice what Jesus did. Leave your riches behind and serve. Why is that what was once called covetousness, was then called greed, then materialism, and today good management, or worse yet "god's blessing"? For "the abudant life does not consist of that which a man possesses" for that which he believes he possesses, in Truth possesses him ;-(

And what is "good" about the destruction of Creation(air, water, land, vegetation, creatures) or the perversion of that which is Spirit(Truth, Light, Life, Love, Peace, Grace, Mercy, Faith, Wisdom,,,,,,, ALL that is Truly GOOD)?

Osteen along with many in American are in love with money, even though they may not see or believe it, but their actions show it. The first thing children are taught to do after high school by society and parents alike (Christian parents too) is to go to college with an end result of making money and getting a job.

But Scripture says Mat 6:33 "...seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you." How many parents (especially Christian parents) are encouraging their children to take four years after high school to study Scripture and find the narrow path that leads to life? Not that many. Many push their children to immediately attend college so they can start making MONEY.

The love of money runs deep in America. The churches are no different.

I've met church leaders that have cashed in their millions to help their church and community. They are now living modestly and reaching out to many without the fancy attire. I do not think they (Osteen's) can do the same. Challenge- live modestly and give most of your "blessed-riches" to the hungry in America and many other non-profit groups helping the cause (national debt, see if God blesses you again…trust in him?)….People that smile a lot or all the time may very well be due to cosmetics or a front to hide their true character (have met many happy people and their faces are not always trying to proof everyone else in the world they are happy). History has the verdict on “blessed-rich” sinners (aren’t we all). Hey Piers, keep it coming! You should have seats with built in thermometer, too much? (could be fun)

God created and own this world, why would He withheld all the riches and glory that His servants deserve. He is the Jehovah Jireh! God the provider... Before you judge any pastors I dare you to be a Christian first. True believing Christians are truly blessed they walk in poor and they all become opulent. Also Christians through the power of the Holy Spirit are gifted with discernment they can tell what is evil through the Holy Spirit,,,But you will not know that because obviously you have a different spirit. It remains just as The Messiah testified, "Woe unto you who are rich! for you have received your consolation." (Luke 6:24)

"And then The Messiah said unto his disciples, "Truly I say unto you that a rich man shall hardly enter into The Kingdom of Heaven". And again I say unto you, "It is easier for a rope to go through the eye of a needle, than for a rich man to enter into The Kingdom of GOD"." (Matthew 19:23-24)

"HE(GOD) has filled the hungry with good things(Truth, Love, Faith, Hope,,,,), and the rich HE has sent away empty." (Luke 1:53)

And today we have the rich believing "righteousness" is in giving half of what they are "worth" away ;-(

And The Messiah testified, "Whoever of you that does not forsake all that he has, he can not be my disciple".......(Luke 14:33)

Notice that everyone's using different Bible passages, all on the same theme. This is far beyond proof-texting – it's one of the major themes of scripture. There are literally hundreds of Bible passages discussing why we should not seek after money or hoard it, because money has always been and will always be one of the greatest idols drawing people's attention away from God.

Amen brother! Joel Osteen is simply pulling many scriptures out and taking them out of context to prove his point. Nowhere in the Bible do you ever find that Preachers are suppose to be living in Million Dollar homes. As a matter of fact we as Christians are suppose to be "good stewards" of God's money and use the majority of it to help the poor and needy. You find all throughout the Bible lessons on sharing the wealth of the rich with the poor. It is commanded throughout. Joel Osteen will have his payday soon! When this "motivational speaker," non-called preacher, finally stands before Jesus and gives an account of what he did with all that money he made running a business instead of a HOUSE OF GOD and spreading that false Prosperity Gospel I am sure that Jesus will say, "Depart from me you worker of iniquity I never knew you." He is not the only one however! Many of these so called men of God on Television driving their Royles Royces, fishing on their Million Dollar yachts, flying on their private Jets, staying in $4,000 dollar a night hotels, and living in these multimillion Dollar homes will all have to answer to God and I fully believe from my study of God's word they will all probably split Hell wide open.

On Piers Morgan show Joel Osteen wouldn't comment on whether the death penalty is wrong. Being from Texas himself, he wouldn't want to upset his death penalty loving Texans who pay for his luxuries.

I understood immediately the message Joel Osteen was relaying about insulting "his god" which is wealth. The insult is to your intelligence. Joel is little more than a motivational speaker with a twist. I wonder if that pretty woman would be sitting beside him if he were poor. A man like him would never give all his money away and it is sinful to live in a 12.5 million dollar home while 25% of Americans are facing foreclosures. @ Francis,,,that scripture is "it is easier for a CAMEL to pass through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God". not that that matters I got your point in a round about way. Joel PREYS on peoples guilt feelings to make him prosperous, most think they can buy their way into heaven. Not to toot my own horn but I made a turkey and remembered a friend or two who might not have enough to eat so I took them food and then a friend working on his house, I took him a plate. I went to have a meal myself and realized the turkey was gone so I had a bowl of soup instead. That is Christianity.

Thankfully i am of The TRUE 1% who have received of The TRUE RICHES!

For it is quite evident that "The Abundant Life" is in and of The Spirit and has naught to with temporal treasures!

Truth testifies, "the abundance of a man's life does not consist of those things he possesses", and i believe those things possess the man, for "the deceitfulness of riches and the cares of this world choke The Word and It becomes unfruitful" ;-(

And why is it that some believe that a certain portion of this world is "good"? When "The Word of Truth clearly testifies, "The WHOLE(not just a portion) world is under the control of the evil one", "if any man loves this world The Love of The Father is not in him", and "whoever would be a friend of this world is the enemy of GOD"!

So it is that the brethren of The Messiah are but "aliens and pilgrims while on the earth" for their "conversation(Life) is in Heaven".......

And soon and very soon, each and every son of GOD is taken Home, Home at last!

    Till then:

    Father Help! and HE does.......

I watched both interviews with the Osteens.

I have to admit that Piers pushed Joel further during the 2nd interview, but I kept waiting for him to ask the simple question: How does one get to Heaven?

I think it would have been interesting to see Joel's response.

Oh, and, does anyone ever notice how poorly the two of them speak, using the "you know" in their conversation so many times, that I ran out of paper to keep "ticking" away for a final count!

Your buddy Joel is a pompous overbearing fool who will certainly rot in hell for all the people he has led astray. He and his painted lady will feel the wrath of GOD so they better enjoy themselves now.

Well "Holla" I wouldn't call the folks who attend his church and are giving to that church making him rich "buffoons" but I would say they are being greatly misled by Joel with his "prosperity gospel" message. The Bible is very clear that there will be "false preachers" who will preach a message that is designed solely to please the congregation. It also says that there will be "false preachers" who will be only interested in building their bank accounts. Joel fits into both of these categories. He will soon have his day however and have to stand before a Holy God and give a full account of the false messages he preached and why he wasted God's money on such frivolous monetary goods.I pray for him and my hope is that God will save him and lead him to start preaching the true gospel message of repentance some day before it is to late for him.

No my friend, Heaven does not cost anything at all! You cannot buy your way into Heaven. The only way into Heaven according to Jesus is through Him for He said in John 14:6, "I am the way, the truth, and the life, no man cometh unto the Father but by Me!" If you do not accept Him as your Savior then you will never get into Heaven. Joel Osteen on the other hand needs to well understand what you said about the fact that he will burn in Hell someday because if he were truly a Christian then he would preach the truth instead of telling people that "He believes there is more than one way to Heaven and that he does not want to offend anyone by telling them the truth." Scripture firmly states that if you love the world, Joel's love of money and material things such as his fancy cars and the 12.5 million dollar home he lives in, then the love of God is not in you. This means that you cannot love money and love God at the same time and Joel states that he does. This means that he is not a Christian at all. His goal is to earn more and more and live a lavish lifestyle and that is totally against scripture for Jesus said, "Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon this earth where moths and rust corrupt but rather lay up for yourselves treasures in Heaven where neither moths or rust can ever corrupt." Paul told Preachers to "Preach the Word in season and out of season. Reprove, rebuke and exhort with all long suffering and doctrine." However all Joel does is exhort or lift his people up each and every week trying to make them feel good and be happy about themselves. Therefore he is not preaching the "whole Gospel message of repentance from dead works and acceptance of Jesus" and that my friend will send him to hell because Jesus will tell him on the day of Judgement "depart from me ye worker of iniquity I never knew you!"
