Oscar-winning actor Matt Damon will be interviewed, along with the rest of the cast of the new movie "The Adjustment Bureau," on "Piers Morgan Tonight" this evening. In the interview, Piers Morgan asks him, "Are you happy with the way Obama has been running the country?"
Short answer: no. "I really think he misinterpreted his mandate," said Damon. "I no longer hope for audacity." His main critique?

I fully respected Matt's honesty when answering Pers questions. If only all our Celeb's could be so forth right and honest. I do try to keep an open mind and believe we all have freedom of speech, regardless of our income! People amaze me that feel so free to criticize other for their difference of opinions. I suppose you have all the answers? I haven’t seen your nomination for President! Maybe Charlie Sheen is better qualified since he is now unemployeed!

Damon was the first to support the Obama Promise of audacity. Anyone can make a mistake when political promise become like pie crust and made to be broken.
Why does the amount of money he makes determine his worthiness to comment? When he was one of the first celebrities on the Obama bandwagon, campaigning for OUR President why did his opinion matter then? As for the “disaster” of the last President, OUR current President doesn’t seem worried about changing anything. He makes the mad spending of G. Bush look restrained. The damage that the Democrat party has done to this country since FDR is astounding. The mess we are in today was mostly caused by the housing crisis. I think Obama is for Obama. I am still looking for the clip when Michelle Obama was asked if they will be asking for reelection around the time Obama was elected and she said if they do it right ie start to work for reelection then will they see a two term president. It was clear that Obama will be working as president to ensure a two term presidency the cost to the country be damned.
Yes it is easy to critize the President in this case. He's shown nearly no leadership on any front. His oratory is very good, but it turns out that's all he has. He made it clear in 2008 that the good of the country came before his specific agenda and partisanship, but his actual record since is the opposite. He's what soldiers call a "talkin' General".

Anyone that makes millions of dollars a year has credibility and knowledge to make scuh judgements. It is people like Matt that are proactive citizens and movers and shakers that will make the country change and be a better place within their own means for our future. We all benefit from great citizens like him. We should learn from his example. Get off the couch and do something about it all.
I agree that proactive citizens will make this country better. I strongly disagree that the amount of money anyone makes in a year has ANYTHING to do with their credibility!!! Mr. Damon seems like an individual who is genuinely interested in making our country better, but that has NOTHING to do with the amount of money he makes.
Please don't make the mistake of believing that people who make a lot of money always know what they're talking about. There are a lot of million dollar "flakes" in the world!
Who cares how Matt Damon feels about President Obama. CNN loves to put the president down and will use anybody to do it. His opinion is his opinion. Presidents budget also cuts PELL grants, an engine that allows access to education for Americans, this cost cutting comes on the contradiction that the FEDERAL DIRECT LOAN PROGRAM was going to save Billions and be put back into crucial grant programs that are on OBAMA's cutting board. Access to education and socio-economic development is shrinking by the minute, and taxpayer burden in regard to DEFAULT LOANS is beginning to skyrocket. The plan is not working, healthcare is repealed and the HEA remains broken. THIS IS OBAMA's doing, it is in his budget.
It always amazes me how people think the economy just starts and stops on a dime. We have been cutting taxes for 20 years now, cutting the federal government for 20 years, and, apparently, cutting our throats for 20 years. You think Obama is anti-education? This nightmare was brought on long before Obama was even in the Illinios senate. Education is one of the biggest ticket items we have, and to get us out of this buy-a-vote-with-a-promise-to-cut-taxes funk that we're in, we have to cut. We have to cut because it is impossible and political suicide to try to raise taxes in this country. The U.S. federal government is the greatest voice of freedom in this world, but we are going to strangle it to death because, well, we want a few more bucks in our pocket.

Matt Damon conversation on health care. Why doesn't any one talk about how COMPANY PROVIDED health care began in this country. It started down in Texas where companies were trying to get people to work for them, and wanted to enhance the companies' chances of hiring people. Americans think company financed health care is all there is or ever has been. Dude! What crap that is! Blue Cross started in Texas as a come-on. Now it's the only health care Americans think is "legitimate." Come on, Dudes! Get real.

I very much appreciated the interview. Now I know why I would not go and watch "adjustment..." movie. I firmly disagree politically with the entire cast, including Mr.Morgan's views on the subject of the healthcare:) and I don't want even one thousand's of one cent from my $10 buck of a movie ticket to get to the political campains that these fine actors support. To Mr.Damon – the joke that he refers to is this: "Pessimist is an optimist who is well informed". (пессимист – это хорошо информированный оптимист).
I'm really tired of Hollywood's take on our country...they can't keep their lives straight And they don't live in our world with their million dollars movie paydays.

I respect Matt Damon and Piers Morgan but while listening to the interview tonight I became so frustrated! Health care in Europe is in no way free. I believe when someone is ill , we need to care for that person. People in this country have come to expect any and all procedures to be preformed to keep them alive and well. If we want that in this country we need to change the way we live! Spend our money on things that matter!!!!!
Amazing to hear the Brits say they like their national health care! I have many UK friends and two almost died from GALL BLADDER complications because their initial problems were not considered an emergency. They both went through lots of pain and lots of "red tape" before they finally received the needed operation. ...I just don't get it.
BTW everyone...Matt Damon is making his own run for office, so know that.

The brilliant and highly talented fashion designer John Galliano who made an anti-Semitic rant in a bar when he was drunk will we be hearing his side of the story on talk shows like we did with Salman Rushdie? This sure the quickest way to get Knighted by Queen Elizabeth. Salam Rushdie was recognized by the Queen after she read his book "The Satanic Verses" though Salman Rushdie offended 1.57 billion Muslims around the world but who cares about this? Unfortunately England being such a small country it lacks in highly talented people that the Queen choice was limited and she chose and Indian born English writers book. I'm still reeling from the Charlie Sheen interview – which was beyond disgusting. As a fellow Brit I was ashamed of Piers Morgan's defense of this sick individual. Had Sheen not been a celebrity, he would have been incarcerated several times over for his behaviour. How can he talk in front of millions of people about crimes that send poorer folk to jail (sometimes for 25 years under the Rockefeller drug laws) – and consistently get away with it?
I listened with interest when Matt was discussing health care and his opinion that health care is a right. I agree that some level of health care is a right. On the other hand, I don't feel obligate to pay the medical expenses for the smoker who won't quit, the hypertensive patient who doesn't take their medications, the diabetic who eats whatever he wants and the obese. If society has a responsibility for health care, then the populace has an obligation to engage in a healthy lifestyle. Certainly Matt could assist in improving the health care of many by contributing from his estimated net worth of 65 million and 24 million in annual earnings. He gives much time in support of worthy causes but how many dollars?
The public debate on public education has done such a disservice to students and teachers. The fact is, many things about our public schools are broken, including the way we've turned teachers into cogs in a machine. BUT, if you ask teachers what will drive excellence in their work, they will point to data, incentives that focus on student learning not process, more focus on a culture of high expectations for every student and adult and deeper exchange between schools and communities. The VIVA Project http://www.vivateachers.org launched to give classroom teachers real input. And, Pres. Obama's Secretary of Education Arne Duncan was amongst the 1st to sit down and talk with VIVA Teachers. This is not about loss of hope; this is about governance, which takes audacity AND hard work by all. The President expects more from each of us and we should have the audacity to trust and give to the greater good.
A fantastic interview Piers did with Matt. One sometimes forgets that these film stars also have opinions! I must say that for me personally, the group interview when the others came on was much more suited to Piers as a talk show host. It is very hard just to interview one person for an hour and Piers lands up laughing at himself and it is not comfortable or he lets the other person take over if they are a strong type – in the group setting, everyone chats and laughs and says their say and Piers was much more relaxed. I hope to see more interviews like this one instead of the sometimes dreary one on ones.

Why are we caring what celebrities think?? If they aren't trying to help then they need to take their millions and go buy another house they'll never stay in!! Too bad all these celebrities can justify thousands on clothes but we have children on the streets ... there is something wrong with this picture!!!
I think the Obama administration is trying to do things for the long term, five or more years from now, and most Presidents legacy is felt long after they have left office, however not being agressive on immediate issues is painful, trust me I know I live in Las Vegas. But in the long run it will be well wurth it for the country.
I totally agree with Rene, if you are here illeagally do it right, get a SS#, get a job, learn our language, abide by our laws, stay off the system until you've earned the right to collect it, learn to read-write-speak our language and support your own kids and see to it that they do the same... Until tthat's done, you'll always be unwelcomed here in our country.
