On last night's "Piers Morgan Tonight", Piers Morgan interviewed New York Times ColumnistThomas Friedman about the situation in the Middle East. "I'm not surprised about this democratic uprising," Friedman said. "But no one could have predicted the timing of it and the fact that all the dominos, virtually all of them, would start falling at the same time."
Piers also talked with The New Yorker's David Remnick, who talked about Netanyahu "facing a new map in the Middle East" and the current Israeli conflict. Here was his take:

David Remnick view of the problems in the mideast is both naive & uninformed. Simply "ending occupation" will only cause more turmoil in the middle east with the corrupt and terror-minded Palestinian officals in charge. Unless Palestinians can show they are comitted to peace & democracy and can put a stable government in place, and Isreali withdrawel would mean disaster. The Israeli's have proven their desire for democracy at Oslo, the Palestinians have not.
Yes, Israel is committed to peace with each and every illegal settlement which it has built and which it will build on lands which belong to Palestine.

Mr. Remnick seems to be laboring under the misperception that if he repeats the term "occupation" enough times, it will become true. Unfortunately, there are enough people(apparently including the media) that will believe this rhetoric without actually exploring the truth of the situation. If Mr. Morgan is going to ask P.M. Netanyahu the "hard questions" why does he give this guest a free pass?
Israel is completely out of the Gaza strip. At least 98% of Samaria/Judea(West Bank) are under the jurisdiction of the Palestinian Authority. That would no doubt be 100% if the Palestinians would reign in their terror. The term occupation is a propaganda ploy repeated so often that few seem able to question it.
It's also ludicrous for this guest to suggest that the root of the violence against the residents of Itamar is the existence of Itamar. If this were true, then Gaza and southern Lebanon would be quiet and peaceful. They actually became more dangerous and violent when the Israelis pulled out.
Mr. Morgan, please do your homework.
I thoroughly enjoyed the hour with Benjamin Netanyahu. I could listen to him forever.
He is sowell spoken and such a Gentleman.
Do you think he could finish his sentences next time and not be interrupted so often by Mr. Morgan!
By the way, I am totallly enjoying Mr. Morgan as he settles into his show. Good Luck to him.
Morgan suggeested Netanyahu go to Ramallah with concessions like Sadat went to Jerusalem. Let's be clear: When Sadat went to Jerusalem, he was awarded the entire Sinai Peninsula which Israel had won in the war of self – defense. What will Israel be awarded if Netanyahu goes to Ramallah? Israel is expected to give up more territory it won in a war. The opportunity to uproot its citizens? Netanyahu is right – first, recognize the right of Israel to exist.
I am watching Piers (not speaking) with Netanyahu, but talking over him. I do think Piers comes off a little insecure and it shows.
Piers Morgan was rude and condescending in his interview with Netanyahu. Perhaps he should stick with entertainment fluff and steer clear of important issues.
I agree with Rita, Piers is very rude with his constant interrupting, didn't his mother teach him that interruptng people when they are speaking is very very rude. I get very annoyed at this, let the speaker finish what he is saying before you ask him another question.
