Astronaut Mark Kelly gave an update today on his wife, Rep. Gabrielle Giffords, who he says is "improving every day, and in the realm of brain injuries that is very significant and pretty rare." Also, "she's starting to process some of the tragedy that we all went through in January."
Piers Morgan interviewed someone else who went through the tragedy in January – when he sat down recently with Daniel Hernandez. The interview airs tonight – check out a preview above, where Hernandez describes exactly what he did to help the Congresswoman.
This past Tuesday, Piers Morgan interviewed Heikichi Katsuta, a Soma City volunteer. Katsuta explained how Soma City looked like a "ghost town" and they were in desperate need of help. More than 10,000 people disappeared after the earthquake. When Piers interviewed him the government of Soma City had not yet stepped in to help. "The government and authorities need to act quickly," he said.
Since the interview, help has arrived. Here is an excerpt of the letter another Soma City volunteer sent us today: FULL POST
Last night Piers Morgan's tribute to Elizabeth Taylor included an interview with Joan Collins, a friend and rival. One of the discussions related to Taylor getting the part in "Cleopatra" over Collins. Another was about the 13 husbands between them. "The last time I got a divorce she sent me a note and said 'I'm still ahead by three,'" Collins remembered. "Most women really liked her. She was a gal's gal."
Piers also talked to Taylor's step-daughter Carrie Fisher about her complicated relationship with the screen legend. FULL POST
