Clips From Last Night: Donald Trump battles Anthony Weiner over presidential prospects

On last night's Piers Tonight, Piers Morgan held a Middle East debate between Rep. Anthony Weiner, Bill Richardson and Donald Trump. At the end of two segments, Weiner took a shot at Trump's presidential chances. "I'm not president yet, although I think I have as much chance as Donald Trump does," he said. Trump fired back: "If I polled like Anthony's polling I would drop out immediately."

"Don't worry you'll be dropping out soon enough," Weiner told Trump. Piers also interviewed former Libyan Ambassador Ali Suleiman Aujali.

"I don't think there is an chance for Gadhafi to stay in power," said Aujali.

Go Trump! Go Piers! Weiner reminds me of a weasel. Weiner picked the wrong man to mess with it.

I don't understand how Mr. Morgan could include Mr. Trump on a panel with Mr. Richardson and Congressman Weiner. Mr. Trump should not be considered an authority on anything except "reality tv", real estate and bankruptcy laws. The fact that Mr. Trump continues to opine on President Obama's citizenship is enough reason to exclude him from any conversation regarding US policy. Couldn't Mr. Morgan bring in a current or former Republican member of congress or the Senate to discuss President Obama's Libya statements? Mr. Morgan has lost a lot of credibility by including Mr. Trump in any discussion of national policy. Very disappointing.

If you couldn't see through Trump's obvious self-serving publicity stunt, why should anyone respect your political opinions. You're clearly not very thoughtful.

Donald Trump a) pays taxes, b) is a citizen – therefore he has every right to speak up! Remember this, OF the people, FOR the people and BY the people, not elitist politicians like Wiener.

Of course he's a citizen, and he has every right to speak up. Braszman is merely expresing his desire that Piers exert HIS right to exclude fools like Trump from his show, and I agree. Trump opens his mouth to get higher ratings or his reality TV show. he will NOT run for POTUS – he never intended to. In fact, I'll give him enough credit to be smart enough to KNOW he could never even come close, nevermind win, so he won't waste his money.

BTW, don't you WANT elites running the government? Since win is being "elite" a bad thing? "Elite Soldier" = one of the best; highly trained, highly effective. Would you rather have some just any person off the street running the show?

Braszman, I agree, Piers is lowering the discourse by including Trump in any serious policy discussion.

I agree – why is Donal Trump even taken seriously as a presidential candidate? Oh wait...look at the attention Sarah Palin has been getting! It's all for entertainment it seems! Mrl Weiner, I loved your passion about Health Reform.

The use of the term elite refers to an 'elite conscientiousnes, away of seeing and orgaizing life for the advantage of the elite, characterized by economic exploitation, a politics of oppression and legitimated by the religious right.

In your naivete you forget that ALL 24 hour news corporations are after ratings. Donald Trump is controversial on liberal cnn, so they put him on. Not hard and you buy into it because whether you like it or not, and they count on you not liking it, you still watch and are perhaps even more interested. So Piers Morgan made it through another night attracting your viewership..he's ecstatic. It's not about Libya at all.

Weiner is just that, a weiner! Trump could wipe up the floor with him in any debate. Suck up to Obama and the rest of the incompent Democrats all you want Braszman. Why doesn't Obama show his birth certificate? I'm ashamed it has taken nearly his entire term in the White House to prove the man is an imposter and should be kicked out.

Really No birth certificate? I don't understand hos this stuff perpetuates itself... You can see it for yourself right here:

      http://factcheck.org/elections-2008/born_in_the_usa.html

This was the first of PMs shows that I ever really watched, and I have to say it was TERRIBLY done. He was obviously picking sides, and choosing Trump as a guest was... Well, stupid. The guy has NO idea what he's talking about and got several facts wrong. I certainly won't be watching again.

Andy, that was an old link you posted. If you want the FACTS that they have been trying to hide about obama's birth and his Islamic faith AND the FACT that he got into Occidental College on a scholarship as foreign student, try this link: http://factcheck.org/elections-2008/born_in_the_usa.html
Donald is an American citizen and as such he has every right AND obligation to speak his mind and have a say in the court of public opinion. He is not some phony politician who knows little to nothing about anything, as does weiner or obama for that matter, but he has practical knowledge AND understanding of the business world and through his business dealings he has worked with other countries, heads of corporations and countries. He is no dummy... wish I could say the same for obama or weiner......

    http://www.juancole.com/2011/03/obama-on-libya-vs-trump-bachmann-romney-gingrich-and-carrot-top.html

" Iran’s Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei roundly condemned the US action in Libya, accusing Washington of seeking a toehold in that country. In other words, bringing up some sort of alleged link of the Benghazi provisional government, which has reached out to Washington, and Iran is about the stupidest thing anyone could say about the situation."

Promoting a buffoon like Trump, a birther who failed to produce his own birth certificate, only makes CNN and Piers Morgan look like total ignoramuses, unfit to be in the news business.

Here's an update for you: It took Donald less than an hour to get his birth certificate: http://politics.blogs.foxnews.com/2011/03/29/donald-trumps-birth-certificates
Donald is only voicing what every other THINKING American wants to know.
And why has obama spent so much money to cover up his past...?

Is that true that OPEC sets oil prices? Have they been raising the price then, or have the prices been going up with market trading?

PS Canada's offered up 6 fighter jets and a boat (not an aircraft carrier, a boat) to the NATO coalition – and even with that little a contribution, it's beyond disturbing to hear that they might be helping Al Qaeda gain power.

PPS Donald Trump's gotten famous for being that self-promoter who makes all his products sound so luxurious – you know how he's always saying his apartments are the best in the world, his show's the greatest, etc ... like he really paints a positive vision that makes you want to check out what he's offering. But in the political arena, he hasn't offered that up. And positivity is what helped propel long-shot candidate Barack Obama to the Presidency in 2008. So it's interesting he's chosen to focus in the birther issue, etc.

Piers Morgan you are awesome. You should stay with high profile guests of broad appeal, like Gov. Christie last night and Wolf Blitzer, et al. tonight. You should avoid attention-grabbing lowlifes at the margin, like Bill Maher. You are head and shoulders above Larry King. Keep up the good work.

I'm just concerned on what Mr. Trump said. He should know that what ever united state ivolved is a TAX of being No.1 to lead the world.
I you want to keep the world under your arms . you need to involve to gain what you are looking for, or just let others take over the lead.
