Elizabeth Emanuel on Kate Middleton's dress: "It's not going to look anything like Diana's"

Piers Morgan sits down with designer Elizabeth Emanuel tonight to talk Kate Middleton, Princess Diana and dresses. Emanuel designed Princess Diana's dress for her 1981 nuptials to Prince Charles. What was Diana like during the planning process? "She never seemed to be under pressure," Emanuel says. "She was always very relaxed and I was the one who was getting stressed out."

Emanuel is confident Kate's dress will look nothing like Diana's. Today's style is "a lot more paired down now," she says. She describes Kate's look as "very classic, quite plain actually." Emanuel does think we'll see something unexpected. "I'm sure there is going to be some kind of a twist."

Catch the full interview tonight at 9pm ET/PT.

Quite honestly CNN and other news stations are spending way too much time on this topic which is of little importance and significance to most people in this country. Why is CNN, which should be airing quality news stories, wasting their time on this? Kate's dress is a story more suited for trashy shows like Fox News or Entertainment Tonight.

Thanks for bringing the goodness of people into the limelight rather than rauchy stories about them. It is like a bit of fresh air in the spring with beautiful flowers. Many people don't like the media hyper about the British. I think they are just jealous they don't have such story to dwell on. I was never too keen on history and at my older age learning something new is not too bad. .Thanks for keeping your show in good taste.

Paired down? Really! If Kate "pairs" down, does that mean that Wills does, too? Or that her sister does?

    Denise,
I hardly find a discussion of Kate's dress to be trashy. The topic may not be to your liking but neither Kate nor any dress in which she decides to marry will be trashy. I think your choice of words is trashy. Hmm.
I hardly see the similarity of Fox and Entertainment tonight. Although I will say both tend to be straightforward and honest. Perhaps you're the Perez Hilton time or Globe type.

Piers, my constructive criticism is that you have given a bit too much attention to all things British. Here is a news flash for you: Americans don't care. I would bet your highest ratings were the Charlie Sheen interview. Sad, but we hold him I'm higher regard than the Queen

You're generalizing. A lot of Americans are interested in many things British. And you need to give a bit more attention to your spelling.

    Piers,
As a Canadian, and citizen of the Commenwwealth, I find CNN's coverage a positive world event that reflects a positive view of our planet. And reminds me thst there is more to the world then the Rome that live beside. GOD SAVE THE QUEEN!
