Dorothy Clay Sims on interviews post-acquittal: "That's up to her"

Tonight Attorney Dorothy Clay Sims talks with Piers Morgan about her client Casey Anthony and what she sees for the future. Piers asks Sims if she would be disgusted if Casey Anthony accepted money for an interview. "I really think that that's up to her," She says. "She was found not guilty, that's the bottom line." While Sims wouldn't touch on the behavior of people found guilty she did make her view clear on Casey's charges. "I don't think that our country controls the behavior of individuals and their ability to accept money once they've been found not guilty of the crimes she was charged with."

Tune in at 9pm ET for the full interview and don't forget our exclusive interview with Hugh Hefner- speaking out for the first time since his canceled wedding.

I think it would be appalling for her to give that interview. She wouldn't' get up on the stand because she was in danger there so she thinks this would be the opportunity to get money when she leaves jail. I would not condone this interview. There was NO justice for Caylee at all. I don't' know how the attorney's can sleep at night.

She didn't do it, she just drove around with some one else's dead body in her car. Doesn't everyone do that sometimes?

Yes, we all respond differently, however there is a commonality… meaning NO one would wait 31 days to notify the police when their child was missing! If so, they need to have the children removed as they are not only a danger to themselves but certainly to their children if they are unable to call the police for help!!!

I fully agree....maternal instinct fuels IMMEDIATE action. Behavior counter to the norm, counter to human instinct is highly suspect. Given the numerous TV shows that feature, and hence educate the public in forensics, it is conceivable that Casey knew that with enough time, decompositon of the remains would obliterate the evidence. It is indeed a travesty of justice and to the American people that our judicial system actually impedes justice in some cases – an especially this one by avoiding this most critical point in the trial.

Agreed!!! Mrs Simmons is avoiding answering questions as they're being asked and also saying eveyone has their own way of grieving. I've never seen or heard tell of anyone with a missing child, first of all
not reporting it, and then partying the night away and shopping to their hearts content. That's definitely not grieving!!!

Please don't think the general public is as stupid as the jury you had! We are not. This Sims defense attorney was seen jumping up and down like a fool after the verdict during the celebration party.
Piers, stop sympathizing with these fool jurors by saying this was "all they could do." Again, most Americans do not reflect these pool of foolish jurors and will not buy this BS!! Stop patronizing our intelligence.

    Piers...

I have worked for social services dealing with child abuse. We would immediately remove the child(ren) fromf a parent who would wait 31 days to phone the police about their missing child. Sims is still defending Casey! Until Sims is willing to be honest, the entire interview is bogus.

Really? Why cant she just answer the question that he is asking her? What do you think really happened to her? Well, the state found Casey not guilty – bla bla bla..

Sims, you make me sick to my stomach. Grow a pair and say what you really think rather than sputtering out a load of crap that you know is crap. If you trust her so much, why don't you have her babysit your children or grandchildren?

C'mon Pierce! Larry King or Oprah would not let this woman give her "talking points" she's practiced! Hold her to a direct question!!! "would you let Casey babysit for your young child, grandchild or any child you loved?" We don't care what your job was or wasn't! Does she personally trust Casey or not???? I can't take this woman! Baez smirked & was annoying but doing his job, like it or not! Dorothy Clay Sims was on video celebrating excessively...jumping up & down. Not just a champagne toast on a win in court or saving Casey's life! It was an "in your face celebration"! Uggggh!

What I don't understand is even if this was an accident surly it must be a crime to cover it up. People accidentally die in car accidents all the time. Some people are convicted of this even though they displayed no intent or motive to comit a crime. If she did it or not surly as Caleeys parent she is responsible for her welfare more than anyone else. She was the last person to see her and that should carry more weight.

Shame on you for giving D. Simms a platform! She can't speak the truth anymore then her client!!! Nothing but a bunch of liars defending at minimum a child abuser, but mostly likely a cold blooded murderer!

I for one will boycott any show who pays Casey Anthony a single dime for an interview regarding the murder of her daughter, Caylee. "It is not lawful for to put them into the treasury, because it is the PRICE OF BLOOD."

Of course Sims has a right to be on any show she wants, just as we all have the right to voice our opinion of her. The fact that Casey was found not guilty has absolutely nothing to do with the fact that Sims couldn't give 1 straight honest answer tonight!

Many people have been found innocent of crimes they didn't do and I'm sure just as many have been found not guilty when they are guilty. Many people have been convicted with far less evidence even with no dead body ever found. I guess she is lucky she is white middle class. A different result would have been seen if Casey was black and poor. I guess it's easy to see why the country is stuffed if people can't put two and two together when it's so obvious the economy has no hope. You people just need to think more for yourself. FYI I'm a really happy person and a mother of a 2 year old.

Piers keeps harping on the fact that Casey didnt call authorities for 31 days to report her child missing. It;s already been established that the child NEVER WAS MISSING! Why does he keep bringing it up! Everyone knows the Casey knew the day her child died – it was just a matter of did she cause it or not. The not calling authorities was a ruse to distract authorities from the fact she was dead.

PIERS – PLEASE STOP ASKING ALL THE EXPERTS ABOUT THIS ON A NIGHTLY BASIS. CASEY'S RESPONSE OF NOT LOOKING FOR HER CHILD WAS BECAUSE SHE ALREADY KNEW SHEW WAS DEAD, NOT BECAUSE SHE WAS A MOTHER WHO DIDNT KNOW WHERE HER CHILD WAS!! you ask this question every night. it doesn't even make sense.

I agree, Casey behavior from the very start makes sense if you think about it. She wasn't concerned about her daughter as she already knew she was dead. Accident or not she tampered with a dead body and staged it to look like a murder. Either she did it or knows who did and isn't that a crime. Remember Casey never said anything at trial in her defense, so how cares what she says now.

This whole interview made me sick, and I am glad she wasn't on long. All these stupid defense attorneys do, is repeat the same thing over and over. They never answer questions point blank and they turn the answer from what they think to what someone else said. That lady is a complete moron if she thinks ANY mother would party and play if they knew their kid died. There isn't a shrink in the world that would make me believe that load of bull.

Agreed 100%. That's why defense lawyers, like Bozo, his fuzzy-faced moron friend Cheney and this fop-top bint, are who they are. Hide behind the 5th amendment LIKE THEIR "CLIENTS" bacause they are guilty ... did you hear this slapper on Joy Behar avoiding the question, "Would you let Casey babysit your kids?". Silence is louder than words, Simms, you dozy cow!

Can someone PLEASE shut this dozy, mop-topped bint now? Please, for the love of us all. This is the deranged fop-topped bint that was slobbering over Killer-Marie throughout the trial, and the same dozy cow that was seen jumping up and down like a demented harridan when her killer (oops, "client") got off.

Shut her up or bump her off. Please!!

ALL HER LAWYERS ARE AS BAD AS HER PARENTS, THEY ALL EXCUSE & MAKE EXCUSES FOR HER & HER BEHAVIOR, THEY ALL TIP-TOE AROUND HER AND ENABLE HER!

    Mr. Morgan,

Thank you for asking good questions to DS, she is no better than slime ball JB! So it is a good example to lie and obstruct an investigation right? Wrong! I am disgusted of how 12 jurors didn't use their common sense and fell for JB's opening statements which they were "not evidence" and came back with an acquittal, where is their "common sense"? Anyways, DS is doing her round in the media! I would advise her to take KC home with her since she has so much compassion for KC. I bet she would "not" allow KC in her house.

This whole thing just disgusts me to no end! Caylee didn't get her justice!

I think Ms. Sims has been spending too much time with her client. Her and Casey wrote the book on lying, denying and evading. She did not answer ONE question that Piers asked her. And the partial answers she gave were lies. What on earth is in the water down there in Orlando?

release this animal into the community, she fought so hard to be with us. She wanted her freedom and our money, why hide? Swamp Mom's new book "how I cashed in on murdering my daughter" and how you can too...an instructional guide.
Step 1. Lie until everyone involved gets tired and gives up.
Step 2. Find a Jury that wants to give a crazy verdict so they can write book too.
    Step 3.  Collect Blood Money

Once again the powers that be have given this murderer special treatment. She will be getting a new ID,  SS# like the Witness protection Program. You can't have it both ways. Freedom means facing anger from the community. If any of us wanted a new start we would not get this type of help from the government . The average law abiding  person can not buy this type of new ID.  The State is allowing her to avoid lawsuits and hide out from those she's cheated. The state is helping her to hide from the public and the state is allowing an appeal of the charges of lying to the police. She'll win the appeal and have a flawless criminal record. She made the system look like the idiots they are

He brings this lawyer on and placates her with stupid comments of his own. He really asked the tough questions ? What a joke ! He should be ashamed of that interview.
