Nancy Grace opens up about fiance's murder: "I went nearly 30 years without being able to seriously entertain marriage"

Piers Morgan interviews Nancy Grace tonight on "Piers Morgan Tonight," and besides a fiery, lengthy discussion about the Casey Anthony trial (and "trial by television"), the HLN host also opens up and speaks emotionally about her fiance who was murdered in 1979. "People always talk about closure, they're throwing that around as far as Cindy and George Anthony now they've got closure, it's all over," she said. "There is no closure."

Grace talked about losing weight – dropping to 89 pounds – and the long-lasting effect his death had on her: "I went nearly 30 years without being able to really seriously entertain marriage or a family. In fact, the word marriage would actually give me a shake when it was brought up." She also discussed how it brought her to become a prosecutor. Watch the full interview tonight, 9pmET/PT!

I can not stand nancy grace. Think I would rather have Casey anthony. To give her national platform to say our system is broken is wrong. Casey was found not guilty. If Nancy does not like our system ..... Leave. Can not watch CNN with her on it

I agree, I cannot stand that lady, this has nothing to do with the Anthony case, she loves to rant and dramatize, its all about ratings, she could not care less about the victim, its a show, its her thing, if people are stupid enough to listen to her preacherlike rants, then they are being fooled by this woman. Televisd court is fine, but there should be a law forbidding any comments by television reporters. Let people watch and dont let yourself get brainwashed by some two bit reporter who only out for ratings.

I agree with you %110. Was so disgusted when I turned on the tv and saw her-again! What is CNN thinking? Thanks for your comments. I am still fuming at her comments and at her behavior during the Anthony trial. She is adding fuel to the fire for the lynch mobs.

The clips of Grace in trial shown during the repulsive interview....everything she was saying in the courtroom was improper. She was vouching for her side, expressing personal belief. Highly improper. I wonder how many times she was reprimanded by judges and the lawyers board in her state. Piers was a pathetic suck up.

The jury in the trial came to the proper verdict. How how these fools (Grace and Morgen) call them out. Disgusting.

Normal people wipe their tears. That was an act, as she is an actress, not a news reporter. Shame on CNN. Shame on HLN. And shame on you Piers for making your show stupid by association. Interviewing a "news" host? News making news? Blagh!

I just love Nancy Grace, She is for justice for all victims . I also think that Casey Anthony is guilty and should have received the death penalty, justice for little Caylee Anthony a child who was so innocent and vulnerable. They need Nancy Grace in Kentucky, I also feel in my heart they Casey's parents knew deep down in there hearts that she was guilty, just didn't want to face the truth. The girl don't know what the word truth, honesty, means she told so many lies from the very first day. Justice for little Caylee , and for the b-- I hope your life from here on out is pure H-.You will some day go before God and be judge. May God be with your poor soul.

I think the Casey Anthony trial is a black scar on our justice system, but I agree with your assessment of Nancy "Graceless!" She shows fake emotion, overly emphasizes everything. She come off as a cheap report for a scandal rag, but that seems to be standard operating procedures for the networks (HLN and TRUTV). She is rude; ask questions, but constantly talks over and/or interrupts her quests or experts. Her vocabulary seems to be limited to "Bombshell tonight" and "Blockbuster news."

People who think someone who went 30 years or more without even contemplating marriage because their fiance was murdered and then uses the same for publicity or whatever is just so very clueless. The sad part is our system IS not perfect – far from it... but it's still better than it is in other countries. But that does not mean it's 'good' because if it was what it's supposed to be, innocent people wouldn't be locked up and guilty people still out on the streets, doing their dirty work. The problem lies in several factors – 1) It seems most prosecutors don't give a crap whether justice is served, as long as they get a conviction. and 2) They say 'jury of our peers' but 90% of those people are not the peers of the ones being tried. They are basically too ignorant to understand what the lawyers are saying, the evidence presented, and some want out of there as quickly as possible and others think it's a good thing to be selected for jury duty. And did you know that at least 50% of people believe that if a person is arrested, they're guilty of 'something' – well we're all guilty of something, but not necessarily guilty of breaking any laws, and furthermore... if being arrested or even accused of something makes us guilty, why have a court system at all ??

how pathetic you ask people not to rush judgement on murdock, but then you have nancy grace on who makes her living prejudging people and crimes. she tried to say she didn;t own it as piers eluded to, but in fact she did. she had been the talking head on tv for the last 3 years, and still can't let it go. how can she even think about raising her own kids to be fair and understanding people when she can't do it her self. as angry as she is all the time what kind of a mother could she possibly be.

I agree that Nancy is in it for the ratings. It's tragic that she lost her fiancé at such a young age. She seems so angry all of the time, I wonder how her mood is at home. If you remember during the Eliz. Smart case, she prejudged a handyman, who had nothing to do with it. She was relentless, although he had an alibi. The guy died of a heart attack after all of her character assassination on him. No one brings that up. Where's the good Christian girl when it comes to admitting she was wrong on that?

She always talks about her dead fiance with those fake emoting tears and sadness.

I swear she talked about her father once at the end of her "SHOW", and I thought he was dead....until she said happy birthday in the same tone as if he were dead.

Except her "lasting trauma" is a line of bull just like everything else that comes out of her mouth.

Nancy Grace was engaged to a man named Keith Griffin. He was murdered in Georgia. And the man who killed him is serving a life sentence. In that, Ms. Grace's version lines up with the official records from the Georgia Bureau of Investigations, newspaper articles from the time of the murder, and interviews with many of those involved in the case.

But those same sources contradict Ms. Grace when it comes to other salient facts of the crime and the trial–the facts that form the basis of Ms. Grace's crusade against an impotent, criminal-coddling legal system.

Griffin was shot not by a random robber, but by a former co-worker.

The killer, Tommy McCoy, was 19, not 24, and had no prior convictions.

Mr. McCoy confessed to the crime the evening he was arrested.

The jury convicted in a matter of hours, not days.

Prosecutors asked for the death penalty, but didn't get it, because Mr. McCoy was mildly retarded.

Mr. McCoy never had an appeal; he filed a habeas application five years ago, and after a hearing it was rejected.

Ms. Grace has also misreported the date of the incident–it was in 1979, not 1980–and has given Griffin's age as 25 when it was 23.

Seiously people it takes about three seconds on google to find out what a fake this woman is, and this does not even address the fact that she is no longer an attorney due to the fact that the courts deemed her behavior as a prosecutor completely unacceptable.

And How many people that she accused and find out not Guilty. She even lie also about her pregnancy which she always called Casey anthony a Tot mom in fact she became pregnant by Invitro that is why they should call Nancy Grace invitro mom with her twin. Invitro Mom is totally corrupting the mind of all the people. i remember she said to Casey anthony that the devil is dancing oh well it turn out it was Invitro Mom Nancy Grace was the dancing with the devil or The Devil is dancing..

Piers I really like you and I love "America's Got Talent " BUT Nancy Grace ?!!! Her past tragedies are no excuse for her arrogance and biased prosecuting manner. She uses her one sided rants in her book "OBJECTION ..... " She obviously needs to be in therapy! Do your homework.... this woman has a very controversial past....Thrown out by the very legal system that she cannot be objective enough to serve and respect. Why should we have any passion for her ... when she has shown absolutely NO objectivity for others professionally. SHAME on CNN/HLN for using talent like hers for ratings!! I boycot HLN inspite of all the ratings that will only last so long. HLN/CNN has gone to far....with the Casey Anthony case in polarizing the public. And since Nancy thinks people don't like her because they don't want justice for Caylee..(PEOPLE MAG) then she and Scot Safon, HLN's chief executive need to be in the same padded cell.

I don't think people "hate" Nancy. What many of us have found so offensive is her coverage of THIS story. This coverage has been over done. She has been the worst. Her ranting and raving and claiming knowledge about this crime (that know one know) is not responsible. She has talked many times regarding "her" story. She has ridden that ride now for a long time. She has gotten a lot of blow back on her coverage of this story. Maybe this is how she has decided to handle that. I would suggest that she cover these stories in a fair manner.

I work in Law Enforcement & I don't see a hate in Nancy, but more of her insistance she is always right and spouts opinions as though those if us in the field are idiots because we disagree with her. If cases were won on emotion, then she'd win hands down, but they are not, they are based on evidence. I think most will agree Casey A knew of her child's death, she lied about things, led police on goose chases, but obviously the jury had no evidence it was first ° murder. I've heard her redox story before, I've heard many in my career & shes the first I've seen who hasn't processed any of it. Her drive to convict even on week cases, appears driven by rage and not credible evidence. Piers was dead on about Trial by Media in this country & it blows many cases. His simple comparison that verdicts go counter to public opinion due to Media hype saturation was met by her condescending reply "I don't know what you mean." Then she insults him with another condescending jab about "you Brits don't have this thing called Bill of Rights...." That is rather arrogant & disrespectful. Get obsessions done thru and I can't see any DA Office hiring her if she went back to practice as she has shown she is too emotional connected to cases which never works in todays DAs offices

I have to agree Jal. Nancy Grace needs a history lesson..she's obviously never heard of the Magna Carta and the first Bill of rights for Brits..literally centuries before America was even discovered. Brits don't have to have their rights WRITTEN DOWN they don't think they have rights, they KNOW they have them.. didn't realize NG was so ignorant. I don't like her show because she is very biased..and sooo repetetive..overkill. She also takes a snippet of information and twist it to her own liking. However, I don't think she has that much influence really..people do have minds of their own..and you'd have to be pretty thick to be brainwashed by the likes of Nancy Grace. I think cameras in the courtroom sensationalize the trials and make celebrities out of criminals, I also think it hard to have a fair trial when a citizen's day in court is preceded by a public feeding frenzy of all the evidence ..but I believe Anthony got off because of the death penalty..that has to come off the r4eally serves no purpose anymore and is only a deterrent to a jury finding someone guilty..we also need jury reform. Had there been a simple charge of child neglect/endangerment included in the list..Anthony would still be behind bars for a very long time.

I am terrible, terrible sorry that Nancy Grace lost her fiance in the most brutal way. I am just as sorry when innocent people are killed in Gazza in the most inhuman way and there cries are mussels by the media since over 60 years. Perhaps the people of Gaza do not feel pain or not adorable enough as little Caylee Anthony
that has generated this truth finding hysteria against Tot mom. If Nancy Grace is such a strong advocate for justice how about justice for Rachele Corrie a very beautiful, vibrant young American who was brutally killed in front of the cameras in by Israeli solders. my theory about the name "totmom"
do you suppose this is a legal loophole for Nancy Grace to protect herself in a lawsuit
she never actually says the name Casey Anthony

Why doesn't Nancy Grace get a life or a real job; This includes her and the other morons on HLN: Vinnie Politan, Jane Velez Mitchell and Dr. Drew. They are all feeding into the frenzy that has caused the public to hate Casey Anthony and the criminal justice system. The bottom line is Casey Anthony was aquitted. The prosecutors dropped the ball. We need to move on. She caused someone to commit suicide already, and CNN settled that law suit. What are they, CNN, waiting for another death. She continues to drag the swamp of inuendos and inference by calling her parents perjurers and referring to Casey as "Totmom". She says, it was a technique she adopted in law school to remember information from cases. Well guess what, you are no longer in law school and there is nothing hard about remembering her name. The bottom line is that she is a vicious person and has no place on the air.

Nancy Grace needs help. Why is she not taking care of her tot what? type of a tot mom is she ?

Have we changed from the days of Puritans? What went on outside the court room in Florida was plain evil? The hysterical Nancy Grace had condemned Casey Anthony before the trial. Nancy Grace and friends would have had Casey Anthony stoned in the public square like the Good Christians did by calling the fallen witches all in the name of God or Justice. Non of us were in Casey Anthony's shoes, non of us saw what took place yet every one had an opinion of there own. Oh yes she lied, she lied and she lied..... she lied to her self as well did she not? We have world leaders like Bush who lie and lie and there action has brought our service men and women back home in body bags because they looking for WMD remember ? We have lied to our people and killed millions of innocent people in cold blood supporting occupation in Israel yet we invaded Kuwait to free it of occupation. When are we going to attack Iran because Israel wants to ?

Satan is the Father of Lies and Piers Morgan, Nancy Grace and their ilk are the /Devil's handmaidens.

Morgan was an entertainment reporter for The Sun (1989–94), and editor of News of the World (1994–95) and the Daily Mirror (1995–04). He did plenty of damage to people's reputations at all of them, and laughed about it all the way to the bank. Lying, exaggerating, going for the jugular...the whole ball o' wax.

After having practically been run out of Britain on a rail, Morgan took Simon Cowell's advice and moved to the U.S. where American viewers don't really know his tawdry tabloid history. Now Morgan's sordid past is being exposed along with every other low life snarling jackal at NOTW, etc. Without a public acknowledgment–indeed, an apology for deceiving the public during his years as an editor for not one but three notorious British tabloids–I don't think Morgan will ever be able to wash the stink off himself from being mentored by Rupert Murdoch and Kelvin Mackenzie, both repulsive yellow journalists. Now he's trotting himself out as a quality but "dangerous" mainstream interviewer on CNN. Shame on CNN for hiring this disreputable and lame excuse for a journalist. It’s a sad day for journalism when Piers Morgan is considered “quality journalism.”

I have known for years about Grace's fiance being murdered and I am sorry for that. However, she is more responsible than anyone for the demonstrators and and those acting as those we live in a vigilante society. It was beyond ridiculous to cover the trial 24/7, place her butt and the butts of her people outside the courthouse basically encouraging people to come out and support her (yes, her, not Caylee). Now she's acting as though she knows definitely whether or not Casey or jurors have had any threats.

The "tot mom" term is not cute, Nancy. Bottom line, don't go for Murder 1 if you have no solid evidence. When are you going to open up about your sham marriage but the way.

Nancy Grace is a blight upon your chosen profession and this body politic. Every time she appears on CNN she reduces its prestige as a news outlet. Keep her off the serious channel. Best Regards.

Nancy Grace has become nothing more than a typical "Entertainment Reporter". I cannot accept her as a legal expert in anyway. While I'm disappointed with the "Not Guilty" verdict. I followed the case closely and also did not hear enough evidence beyond a reasonable doubt to give Casey Anthony a guilty verdict. Nancy Grace is on the air now and acting with a fair amount of emotion. This is exactly why we have a legal system with a jury of our peers. The judges instructions to jurors are very clear and include "Base your decision on the evidence you've been presented, not your personal feelings". We probably will never know what really happened to Caley. Her death is a tragedy. But in our legal system "facts are fact" that's the law...

We all have our different opinions, but nobody can deny that the system worked this time. We need to find a better way to honor Caley's memory!

Nancy Grace never ends. Her own career as a "prosecutor" demonstrates her incapability of understanding the basics of US law. The prosecution has to prove without reasonable doubt. While Casey Anthony may have demonstrated quite questionable behavior throughout this case, there is no hard evidence tying her to the murder. While she may be guilty, the prosecution did not prove this. The jury had no other choice with the verdict. Nancy Grace belongs to another the supreme leader of the lynch mob.

What?! You "expect more" from CNN? Why? They're the ones who HIRED this tabloid hack, Piers Morgan, from the UK. Morgan worked for OVER A DECADE for one slimy tabloid after another. For the last 30 years or so, members of media have worked in concert to destroy credibility through their journalism of personal destruction. Now the chickens are coming home to roost. "Journalist" doesn't mean diddley squat anymore.

The press has long turned into medialoid, defined as mainstream media infected by tabloid journalism. That’s what they DO. These people, more accurately called JEERNALISTS, who author Sarah Strudwick calls dark souls, gravitate towards children of light. They use readers and viewers as a power source to compensate for their own internal wasteland, feeding on the public’s naivete and generosity. It thrills them to corrupt others’ morals and bring readers and viewers down to their level. Draining someone else and ruining other people’s relationships makes them feel powerful. Being a vampire is not a part-time job for them. It is who they are–Morgan being at the top of the heap.

Note to Nancy Grace: I really don't know why you and so many other Americans go on and on and on about your freedom of speech. You do not have freedom of speech in the United States, (unless of course it's hate speech). If you did, you would not have television and other kinds of censorship. First I don't know whether Ms Anthony is innocent or guilty, that is what we have the justice system for.

While I believe in freedom of speech and the press, a person who is supposed to be innocent until proven guilty should not have to go through a "perp" walk or, along with legal professionals and witnesses, go through the kind of scrutiny that the American public seems to crave and Ms disGrace obviously panders to.

This kind of spotlight serves to pervert justice.

Does Nancy disGrace have an over abundance of canine genes in her DNA? It certainly appears so. For someone who professes to believe in the justice "system" she exhibits so much hate and animosity to someone who has been acquitted by a jury of her peers. If Nancy doesn't like the results of the spotlight of publicity that media coverage brings, she should find another career. I'm sorry she had to lose a loved one... I'm more sorry she has to "glom" onto a perceived villain and promote that through nicknames like "Top Mom" that only serve to draw attention through branding and seek to aggrandize her TV show.

It is easy to grasp onto and focus on seeming (but unproven) villains, and I feel she has a need to release a lot of negative energy.

Piers you bring half a level of logic to this discussion but watch out for her canines!

Yes, she and her cronies, like Diane Dimond destroyed Michael Jackson with their vile tabloid style antics. They spread lies and gossip, even making up evidence and putting it out there as if it were fact. Amazingly, the jurors in that case managed to declare a not guilty verdict even though they were not sequestered. They listened and watched Grace and Dimond every night with their pro-prosecution coverage. When Mr. Jackson was exonerated of all charges, Grace said that he was "guilty by reason of celebrity." If she wants someone to be guilty she will stop at nothing to make them guilty in the court of public opinion for ratings. Charles Thompson of the Huffington Post wrote that the 2005 Jackson trial was the "lowest point in American journalism." Grace, and her pal Dimond, led the wolf pack back then. Shameful since their behavior ended up destroying a talented man with a gentle soul, ultimately. People like Grace and Dimond will never change their spots.

I don’t know if Piers Morgan appreciated Nasty DisGrace’s closing benediction ("Thank you, friend"), but he was as tender as could be–hardly the “dangerous” persona he claimed he would bring to his show–in allowing Nasty to ATTEMPT to rehabilitate herself. I suggest she not be allowed to get away with it. Most people learn from trauma not to exploit other people for one’s own gain as a result, but oh no not Nasty. She milked the friendly platform she was given (HLN is CNN’s sister station) for all it was worth. She doesn’t need rehabilitation with the public. She needs therapy, for she’s clearly off her rocker. Nasty, please get the help you so obviously need. Please.

Morgan, you need to stop being an apologist for the Murdoch regime. I hope you're next. If it's determined that you, too, knew about the deplorable practices of the ugly rag for which you worked for a portion of your ugly tabloid career, I expect CNN to do the right thing and fire you immediately.

Oh, and Morgan? Stop referring to yourself as a "journalist." That's insulting to responsible, honest and hard working trained journalists everywhere. You're nothing of the kind. You're a jeernalist–a dirty, snotty, go-for-the-jugular jeernalist who uses and abuses people as grist for your hugely profitable rumor-and-gossip mill.

She isn't over the death of her finace yet-more than 30 years later? AND she has her own show on CNN HLN? I can't believe the management of CNN would tolerate such a person on their staff unless her viewers are so dumb that they increase her ratings? She has always talked about being a crime victum and tonight had the nerve to say she never talks about it? Personally, She is so obsessed that her objectivity is not there. On one hand says she believes in the system and on the other, she convicts every suspect even before a trial starts? I will never watch her show! I am about ready to stop watching yours, too!

I congratulate Piers for I think the reason to bring Nancy on the show was to illustrate Trial by Media. What better way than have Nancy spout emotional persuasion and speak as though we should all agree with her. It's her delivery that tries to sway viewers, and she says shes not doing that, her viewers can think for themselves. Yet it's her delivery that she used as a prosecutor to sway a jury, so why intimate she doesn't do that with viewers? They are viewers because they think like her. Why should anyone else watch her.

So, I think Piers set her up to make his point of Trial by Media and she never figured it out, she just kept batting her eyes, try to be witty, her sarcastic laughs, and played right into it.

I think she should go to Fox News, too. She loooooooves the sound of her own angry shrill voice...and....she doesn't like to hear anyone else if they disagree with her. She only wants to hear how right she.

She doesn't play well with others or anyone.

"I don't worry that this was our moment and now it's gone," says HLN executive Scot Safon, adding that the network will turn its attention to Conrad Murray and polygamist sect leader Warren Jeffs.

Now that the Casey Anthony trial has ended with a stunning not guilty verdict in the death of two-year-old Caylee Anthony, HLN is strategizing ways to keep the ratings flame burning. Hollywood among many others... google it if you are interested.

Surprise … Surprise… HLN executives are actually admitting their Casey Anthony coverage was ratings driven! So much for the justice for Caylee rhetoric Nancy Grace!!

She may be a lawyer and have studied criminal justice and American government, but even an 8th grader knows Americans didn't invent the Bill of Rights on their own. The founding fathers were greatly inspired by the *BRITISH* Bill of Rights of 1689 – published almost 100 years before America even declared its independence! She should get her facts straight!

How come CNN/HLN -- especially on HLN the show hosts are always interviewing each other and appear as guests on each other's shows. There is nothing objective about that !! You are just plugging each other's shows and books expressing the same biased free speech. The media is becoming a 3 ringed circus not to be taken seriously anymore.

Morgan is wise to distance himself from Grace's theatrics. Seems to me that if a 30 year old trauma continues to
present itself by choosing a target and relentlessly pursuing 'guilt, guilt, guilt', all the while condemning the legal system
she is a part of, may indicate the need for counseling. I'm not a psychologist nor pretend to be, but geez, the woman
is in serious meltdown and taking members of the viewing public with her.
Let's not forget that Morgan was an integral part of the tabloid press for many years under the tutalege of non other than Murdoch himself. Crossing the pond does not change a zebras stripes...Morgan may be speaking with new found
morals, but he was a part of that tabloid mentality and carries the responsibility for ruining careers and lives.

I am a huge fan of Piers Morgan...and watching him tonight with Nancy Grace was brutal. She spoke to him as if he were an uneducated, lower class simpleton! In my opinion she completely embarrassed herself...and if anything, made Piers look very knowledgeable and professional. While Piers was giving his opinion about Casey Anthony (which BTW I 100% agree with), she was rolling her eyes and making sarcastic comments that made her look like a bratty 13 year old little girl. Piers (and CNN) lets not have her on again, shall we...we shouldn't glorify bullies!!!!

CNN and HLN have reached depths as low, if not lower, than Fox News. Nancy Grace has made pronouncements about Casey Anthony on a daily basis for many months, beyond the point of many of us caring. The wing nuts are still following Grace's comments on a case which ended two weeks ago. Move on to stories that really matter to us. Carmaggedon is another story with little relevance to most of the continent. It was even one of the top three stories in Canada over the weekend. You give us pap and crap under the guise of news. How could the Anthony case be news when the verdict was weeks ago?

I think Nancy Grace is just jealous because she couldn't party enough in her life. Everyone has the freedom to live their life as they like. I m not saying Casey is right or wrong but she has been acquitted. Its not like she is an expert murderer or something that she can hide such a brutal murder so flawlessly. There wasn't enough evidence which kinda implies strongly she might not have murdered Caylee.

I think Nancy either did not listen to the trial with an open mind or she has so much anger in her heart she just wants to hold on to the guilty verdict no matter what or is not willing to be humble enough to change her mind even a little bit. I thought Casey was guilty at first until I looked at the trial and evaluated things with an open mind. George was an obvious liar and was connected to that duct tape. Chloroform comes from chlorine and the ladder was up! What if George was a pedophile! That is an obvious reason not to call 911 after the drowning-no autopsy, no evidence. So cover up the accident. They probably both put her in the trunk and took her to the woods. The pathologist said it could not have been asphyxiation.

As far as she was concerned, legal ethics were not required in her practice. HLN has become a bad "reality show" because of these pseudo legal experts like Nancy Grace. More often than not, their opinions do not reflect the law. "Hanging Judge" Nancy does not believe in the law; she believes in shooting first and then finding out she was wrong. I am so happy to see there are still some americans with some sense -NG is a rude, judgmentaL person and only talks about cases that increase her ratings -although Casey obviously had something to do with her daughters death, but not necessarily murder -I always felt it was an accident and i am happy that the jury was wise enough to not convict her of a capital crime when there was no proof of that -that means the system is working .Maybe Nancy should focus her rage on the sherriff who did not do his job in August when Roy Kronk called the first time-the jury may not have deliberated long, but why waste another day if you know the proof is not there-hats off to the jury for having the guts to do the right thing -Nancy's rantings encourages vigilantism and that is so wrong . Lets move on from this-concentrate on the hundreds of other missing and exploited children – this case is done

Speaking against violence is one thing. Educating about violence is another. BUT vengence is the devil NG dances with every night on her show. Vengence is emotion driven. Vengence is hate. Vengence is blind to facts. Vengence wants others to suffer. Vengence can't stand being wrong. Vengence is self righteous. Vengence wants recognition and an excuse to pay back. Vengence will have those judged by a jury stalked in hopes to bring that person to their brand of justice. Vengence will do anything for recognition. NG... HLN endorsed has become so emotionally obsessed with violence she seems bankrupt of any reasonable professional objectivity. She openly admits and displays a 30 year old hurt in her life that has no closure for her. She displays serious mental exhaustion. Someone who is close to her needs to do an intervention and require her to get some professional mental help.

Donna. We all abhor violence, and people "convicted" of a crime should pay. A few people who were prosecuted by Nancy Grace while she worked for Fulton County D.A. office were not given a fair trial, and the state found that Nancy Grace held back evidence that would have exonerated 2 defendants, both cases were eventually thrown out and she was reprimanded. I cannot trust a State Attorney who lies and cheats to win a case, just to win even when she knew they were not guilty is just totally wrong, morally and professionally. That is why Nancy Grace is personae non gratae in my book. She is as much of a liar as she points out Casey Anthony is.. I think I have a new catch name for NG, "Maligner Mom"...

Nancy Grace is a total disgrace. Having proclaimed herself judge, jury and prosecution, she decided Casey Anthony was guilty of capital murder. Wisely, the jury required more proof of 1st degree murder that would result in execution of the person on trial than Nancy Grace's opinion. Nancy Grace and others on HLN are responsiblie for inciting some members of the public to potential vigiliante justice. Please let the justice system do its job. I hope Nancy Grace has learned something from all of this and with accept it with "grace" but somehow I doubt it. It's all about ratings and dollars! And, Piers should know this after spending years in his home country as a tabloid journalist feeding at the trough of Murdoch's ethics in journalism. Why interview Nancy Grace? Certainly not because she has anything useful or intelligent to say about our legal system or anything else. No, it's just to demonstrate how low "news coverage" (as though the Anthony trial were news–what a joke!) has gone on outlets like HLN (Hysterical, Loud, Nasty).
Grace is NOTHING but a hyena out for blood–anybody's blood–and she incites a mob mentality in people who can't reason things out for themselves. She's not intelligent, professional, rational, or even emotionally stable, for Pete's sake! CNN, you're hiring out of the tabloid gutter with both Nancy Grace and Piers Morgan.

Nancy Grace is not a person you want covering a high profile trial, or in this case a trial made high profile by the media. She is biased to one point of view, HERS, and does not even entertain the viewpoint of anyone with an opposing view. She is not a voice for victims as some have suggested; rather, her outrageous indignation towards Casey Anthony was an act to garner ratings, nothing more, nothing less. This is why (see below) she was such an over-bearing buffoon during the trial; it was not for the tragic death of Caylee Anthony, an innocent child, but rather for her ratings.

"Before the trial, HLN had been in a ratings slump. Neither Dr. Drew, who started in April, nor Ms. Behar had gained much traction in their time slots, and Ms. Grace was showing signs of erosion among younger viewers. But since May 24, the channel has sprung to life, averaging 509,000 viewers at any given time, up from an average of 239,000 at any given time in the prior four weeks. In prime time, the gains are even more striking – 902,000 viewers since May 24, up from 372,000 in the prior four weeks."

    Read more at:

So, it seems that the true winner of this tragedy was HLN.

Thank you for saying it like it is. Not all of us are fool enough to believe that it's Nancy Grace's tender heart for innocent victims we see being displayed on HLN. What a nasty channel full of cynical, self-serving people–and how unfortunate that it so neatly sucks its ratings off the basest tragedies.

Nancy Grace was very emotional when speaking about her fiancee's murder, perhaps this is what has made her so harsh and unreasonable. Get over it Nancy that was 32 years ago, that is not an excuse for wanting to try people on television. As a prosecutor you should know that people are innocent until proven guilty, what you are doing is inciting people with the lynch mob mentality. I suggest you see a shrink , its abnormal to harbor all that hate for so many years.
Nancy Grace, Judge Pirro, Greta Van Susteren are all on TV, because Geraldo invited them to his show during the OJ Simpson Trial. Geraldo paved the way for all these women. with the exception of Greta, w3ho is a lady. Nancy Grace (as Norma Desmond): "I am ready for my close-up, Mr. DeMille."

This has been a week of moral and professional lows in media, government and law enforcement - areas from which the public has a right to expect and demand the highest standards. The closing of NOTW left many out of work and their futures in doubt; public confidence undermined by the resignations of top ranking Scotland Yard officers and politicians implicated in bribes and misconduct; the death of a whistleblower brave enough to speak on the record when others with the same knowledge did not (for whatever reason); and the long-overdue scrutiny of a corrupt media corporate culture that routinely misleads, misinforms, destroys lives, and even commits crimes in pursuit of profits and 'getting the story first rather than getting it right the first time'.

We see the Trifecta of Public Betrayal – by an arrogant and irresponsible media; by politicians who swarm for votes then forget the voters; and by officers sworn to uphold the law but who ignore serious crime (or are complicit in it) because they don't see a bloody knife and guts.

After being put through this wringer, to witness Nancy Grace weep in a ‘set up’ interview (complete with visual aids) is simply too much to endure!

HLN, with Grace leading the charge, whipped up disillusioned viewers about the ‘tot mom’ verdict into a frenzy reminiscent of a village mob with torches chasing the undesirable out of town. Then Grace shields her behavior with the First Amendment – as many self-centered and self righteous pundits do – carefully ignoring the Responsibilities that accompany the precious rights we enjoy.

As the Murdoch scandal oozes its way toward the United States, I hope for a general review (at the least), a serious investigation (at the most), and an overhaul of our own Media House of Cards - now resting perilously on a table with one wonky leg. Imagine media generals and foot soldiers twitching and sweating under the hot lights of investigation.

What will we do without them? We will rise to the occasion, remove the media nose ring by which we are led, and shoulder our responsibility as citizens to demand professional and accountable newsgathering and reporting.

I can no longer tolerate the histrionics of Nancy Grace, Dr. Drew, Velez-Mitchell, and their ilk and for that reason will not view anything CNN brings us which include their opinions masquerading as commentary; sorry Piers, I like your program and style of interviewing, however just cannot bear Grace's screechy overarching voice. Frankly, I'd rather listen to Rupert Murdoch's lies. Please consider your viewership when you decide who to interview.

I posted almost an hour ago but my post wasn't published here. I think that is because I didn't act like a "sheep" and go with the crowd who feels the need to rant and berate others while saying that no one else deserves the opportunity to state their opinion. What does that say for this whole "open forum"? You all deserve each other! Keep drinking the kool-aid!

Well, first of all, Nance Grace made Piers Morgan look like a wimp. I watched the final minutes. Nancy Grace really came off as obnoxious imo. Her coverage of the Anthony trial ad nauseum was irresponsible. It doesn't seem as though anyone can tell her anything. She's always right! I'm hoping she about to retire from TV...wishful thinking.
Also, Piers Morgan, don't call yourself a real journalist. You worked for the tabloid rags. I just hope you didn't engage in any illegal activites. CNN really? Morgan interviewing Grace? My reaction is mostly, no thanks, and how boring.

Her again? Nancy Grace, who makes her living prejudging people and crimes. We can't watch her, CNN you should not get that low to get ratings.
Nancy Grace covering a high profile trial should never happen. She is biased to one point of view, HERS, and cannot handle anything else PROFESSIONALLY. Her indignation towards Casey Anthony was an act to gain ratings and fame, and that behavior is not new with her. CNN should know better.

I think Nancy is genuine, not fake, and that she has a real passion for justice. I think she was deeply wounded when her fiance was murdered and it has changed the way she perceives the world. She is a real person and she calls it as she sees it. Good for her.

Media have the power, great power. A journalist is responsible for the lives of people like the doctor. Word can be very hurt. Why is such a responsible job. Michael Jackson was a victim of violent media.
Nancy Grace is known to all fans of MJ, the fans from outside America. There are no words to describe her behavior.

I hate to state the obvious but does anyone remember that she did the EXACT same thing in 2005 with the Michael Jackson trial? She has not changed her spots, so I don't know why everyone is surprised by her behavior. Unfortunately for Jackson, his trial was not televised, so Grace wasn't held accountable for telling the truth. She took a pro-prosecution stance while spouting outright lies about Mr. Jackson just to grab sensationalistic headlines and ratings for CourtTV. She never reported on the case for the defense nor the cross examination of prosecution witnesses. Charles Thompson of the Huffington Post stated that the 2005 Jackson Trial was the "lowest point in American journalism." Nancy Grace was one of the major ring leaders of the same insane mob mentality back then.

After Morgan accused her of swaying opinions of Anthony's guilt, she states that she was not responsible because the trial was "televised" and that allowed the American people to make up their own minds. Well, Mr. Jackson's trial was not televised so what is her excuse for directing people to believe he was guilty back then? There were no televised proceedings, so viewers had to rely on people like Grace to report it. At least the Anthony jurors were sequestered and did not have to wade through the media hype. The Jackson jurors were not, and how they managed to see the truth through all the sensationalistic hype is amazing. This is proof that our legal system works. It is not the media's place to try criminal cases nor provide legal commentary on a case they know nothing about.

I sincerely hope that we do not see a repeat of this behavior during the next big trial, that of Conrad Murray. Heaven help us! Please CNN choose a journalist with good integrity and fair commentary for this one. Please spare us more drama and rants from Nancy Grace! She has tried major court cases in the media twice now. The American viewing public cannot go through this a again!

Accurate, objective reporting is journalism. Promoting an agenda is inappropriate, especially for a former attorney professing to seek justice. Justice is a fair, unbiased trial. Urging the pitch fork and torch crowd to storm the courthouse with a predetermined mind set is witch hunting. In addition, Nancy Grace was basically forced out of legal practice by ethics rulings against her, including withholding evidence that proved the innocence of a defendants; one of the most heinous actions of a prosecutor and is illegal. The Georgia State Supreme Court ruled took up the charges against her.

If the government, with all of its resources, cannot provide the necessary evidence to convict beyond a reasonable doubt, then the defendant is not guilty. At that point, Nancy Grace's opinion doesn't matter. CNN should be ashamed.

I realize now that this interview is a few days old, but to me it's fresh. I can't understand the seeming hatred she has for Piers Morgan. I'm not a fan of his, but to insult his nationality over and over on TV is crazy. Has she forgotten that "the Brits" are our allies? He held his own, whereas I would have blown up and tossed her off the show. (May be why I don't have a show.) She DID make a good living off of this trial and DID try to sway public opinion against Casey. The legal process is only to be respected, apparently, when you agree with the outcome.

Piers, if you are reading these posts, I do not think you were hard enough on Nancy Grace. It appears to me that because she works for CNN, you did not interview her the same way you treat other guests. This is total BS. I'm actually a pretty big fan of yours, but you dissapointed me this time. I also find it hard to believe that you like her show as much as you said you do. Seriously dude?!

I agree with everyone else, Nancy's crying did not seem completely genuine or involuntary. I believe she carries a certain degree of pain and sadness over her ex fiancee's death, but after all this time has gone by, and being married and having children, I find it hard to believe her emotions expressed last night were not "pushed out" and overdramatized. What a drama queen. It really makes it hard for anyone to believe she is always completely genuine.

I don't know Nancy Grace, or have ever seen or heard her, but after reading 180 negative fiery comments about her – well most of them – I shall try to be magnanimous. She obviously seems to have a lot of psychological, emotional issues, so surely cannot be able to give an unbiased fair and accurate judgement. CNN should be careful on, say, the upcoming trial of Conrad Murray into the involuntary manslaughter of Michael Jackson. She seems controversially tarred with the same brush as tabloid journalists who assassinate characters, 'monster' reputations with defamatory reports which prejudice trial outcomes and pervert/distort the course of justice, and destroy lives. Nancy Grace will be in her element on her soapbox over anything connected to Michael Jackson, dead or alive, it won't matter to her. I hope CNN read this and take note.

Is there some way we can get a few million people not to watch Nasty DisGrace and Piers "I Kissed Rupert Murdoch's Ass for Years" Morgan? If we could somehow accomplish that, the nation's airwaves would be devoid of the tabloid trash with which they litter the landscape and society would be much the better off for them both being G-O-N-E.

Nasty Disgrace is part of the reason there are "real issues" in the world that defy resolution. The American viewing public deserves better than Nasty Disgrace, Piers "I Kissed Rupert Murdoch's Ass for Years" Morgan, Anderson "I Air The Ridiculist Daily While I Deplore Others' Mockery" Anderson. Journalism is swirling the bowl and in its stead we get JEERNALISM designed to inflame the public and/or influence them to the liberal agenda. People, wake up! Turn off the Nastys, Piers, and Coopers of the world and turn to the few remaining journalists left in the world. Oh, wait...there aren't any.

I'm not threatened by Nancy's venom...but we all should be threatened by her cherry picking the truth, if you are ever accused of a crime. Nancy will try, convict and execute you before you can give your air-tight alibi. She is a one-person lynch mob who in my opinion, doesn't want the truth. If you are in her sights, you are guilty!

Nancy Grace is a classic example of human waste. She is a waste of oxygen as well. HLN, FIRE HER ALREADY!! Or do you LIKE the idea that she is going to cause a lawsuit against YOUR network...shame on you all for allowing her to continue in her tirades that have caused not only suicides, but destroyed marriages, friendships, etc. If I saw she was on fire, I wouldn't waste the spit to put her out. Get some counseling obviously NEED IT. Your a horrible, mean, nasty human (though question 'human' when it comes to her), who has hurt so many people, just for your own "sensationalism". And I don't have any need or reason to know about her murdered fiancé...
