Debt debate – from "politics as unusual" to "pizza politics"

"Piers Morgan Tonight" covered the ongoing debt debate from all angles Friday night. Piers Morgan talked to Carly Fiorina of the National Republican Senatorial Committee. "I would argue this is politics as unusual, not politics as usual," she said. "I think there is plenty of blame to go around."

Also on the show – pizza. Here's how that played into the debate:

The director of the Papa John's pizza place where Speaker John Boehner placed his late night order was a guest as well. "We've been shipping tons and tons of pizza up to the hill," said Jeff Williams. "Congress may not exactly know how to go one way or another on this bill, but frankly, they know where to eat pizza."

Well, Piers lost points with me tonight attacking Connie Mack with repeated references to him stabbing Leader Boehner in the back while Rep Mack was trying to have a civilized discussion of our mounting debt crisis. Bad form Piers.....

when those cuts in the budget deal take place, states like my state,(tenn.) which according to Sunday edition of the chattanooga news freeprest gets back frrom the federal gov. $1.56 for every dollar it sends to washington, and ala. gets back $2.72 for every dollar it sends. so when that money dries up the states are going toeither raise taxes or make more cuts in the state expenses. that is why i believe the tea party has a short life.

Dan is correct. Piers should stay out of politics. He gets too emotional with Republicans and becomes very disrespectful. He was totally rude with Romney as well. We changed the channel.

It is a shame that an element of our population.. Piers Morgan espectially included.. think that
1, What has taken place in the US Congress is a sham, and
    2. The tea party held the country hostage for their own personal gain.

    1. Truth is, what we have all seen in the Congress is divergent philosophies trying to reconcile their differences and find some way to compromise in spite of very different principles. Could "you" do better? Could anyone do better? I doubt it. Our Congresspersons have gone through a terrible, trying, difficult debate process with the highest stakes that one could imagine.
Most of them are heroes, in my book.
    2. Many of us do not trust this President, even if we like him personally. All of us teabaggers know that we simply cannot allow this spending to continue, and it may already be too late to bring America back to living within its means without catastrophe. We are not holding anyone hostage, nor acting in any irresponsible way, by putting it all on the line now.. not later.. to turn this problem around. We know that a lack of revenues is NOT the problem, but a lack of will to stop runaway spending is.
All have done the best they can, sincerely and bravely, for America, considering that not all of us see anything the same. These differences MUST BE reconciled in the Congress and that is the process we have seen. It is indeed gut-wrenching.

Piers Morgan: You were the only commentator on CNN, who had the balls, to ask Tea Party member the tough questions related to their stand on no tax increases, but more and more spending cuts. Yes, they'll accept cuts in medicare, social security, and other entiltlement, but no ending subsides. Hell, let GE keep making billions, and pay no US taxes, as they move a division of theirs to China, with expectations of spending 2 billion dollars plus in China!

Hi! I have a solution to help our country. US will have more money to find a way out of this problem. Where can we get all those billions of dollars to get the country out of the big hole? The answer is easy! All the money we need is on the illegal immigrants in the US. On the site http://immigrationcounters.com/ you can find the number of illegal immigrants.
The number is 23,554,193 illegal immigrants in US. If the government does an amnesty, and makes the immigrants pay a fee as a pardon for staying illegal in US, we can make the money we need.
If the fee is at least 1,000 dlls per person the government can get 23,553,193,000 million dollars. Plus all the other fees they need to pay. I think that an amnesty will help the government in this moment. The government can get more control of the people that right now we don’t know.
This process will bring money and safety to our country.

Piers Morgan's agenda is worn on his sleave. He is a liberal hack trying to push his liberal agenda. I am not impressed. CNN would do themselves a favor by replacing him.

I find it absurd to have Mort Zuckerman speaking about the federal deficit. Here is a person who has paid vertually zero in taxes over the last 30 years while amasing a fortune. Its like having the Octomom speaking about birth control.
