Jon Huntsman on wars in Afghanistan and Iraq: "It's time to come home"

In a portion of Piers Morgan's sit-down with Jon Huntsman that is scheduled to air later this week, the GOP presidential candidate talks about foreign policy – specifically, the "War on Terror." "We don't need 100,000 troops in Afghanistan. this should not be a nation-building exercise," says Huntsman. "It's time to come home."

Huntsman said he would redefine what it is we are fighting. "It is a counter-terror effort that we are waging," he said. "This is an asymmetric war...this is an invisible enemy that doesn't call any nation-state home." Stay tuned for when more of the interview will air on "Piers Morgan Tonight" at 9pmET/PT.

I like Piers and enjoy his show, but he keeps saying that America would be fine if its companies just continue to follow Apple's example and create new products to sell to the world. He has said this several times on multiple shows. Would his producer please tell him that American workers do not manufacture the iphone, etc? While I understand that its corporate headquarters is located in the U.S. and it does create American jobs in some sectors – design, marketing, management, etc. – the iPhone, for example, is reportedly assembled in Asia from parts produced by companies throughout the world. As long as American companies are permitted to go overseas to manufacture the products they design ... and then import them back to sell in U.S. markets, the American dream – for most – is over!

JOHN HUNTSMAN you are absolutely right in calling US troops home as last one decade has proved that war on terror is just a deception of American nation to deprive them of their hard earned earnings. I am a tribal from FATA (Federally Administered Tribal Area) in Pakistan and see three decades long US military engagements in this region. No doubt America has finished main enemy USSR but in return has got war on terror which has destroyed US economy and reputation in the world which USSR would have never done. I in person guarantee you that tribal in FATA are not terrorists and none can find even ,05% tribal supporting terrorism while 99.95% are deadly against wars on any ground. We all are a peace loving as we know the importance of peace for being in wars for the last three decades. You American nation is as usually fooled that FATA is a stronghold of Alqaida the way they were made fool in the name of weapons of mass destruction for invasion of Iraq and OBL in Afghanistan. Here every one see Osama as an agent of CIA as with his blessings America has occupied Afghanistan. S for God sake end this senseless wars which will now destroy only Americans as we have not been left with something to be destroyed during last three decades long US wars in the name of communism or today war on terror. You have a voice in USA and being a son of the soil you are bound to protect your nation and your country of total destruction. I being a tribal should have supported US destruction in revenge to what has been done to us but as a humanist I cannot support human bloodshed anywhere in the world. So John you should join Americans like John Perkins to change America before it is buried by MIC and Pentagon.

the system is rpurcot. without major reform to the legislative process there is no hope.this does not represent any form of failure on the part of our president. after all, he is a politician, not a revolucionary.

Joh Huntsman is probably the only republicn in the field iIwould vote for. It is amazing that he has no support from the republican voters, they prefer all those clowns, Romney, Gingrich, Bachman, Santourum, Cain and especially the biggest idiot since W Bush is Rick Perry, My god what a moron... I am not thrilled with Obama but he is still better than all these Buffoons. If Huntsman won I would not be dissapointed...
