Ron Suskind's book "Confidence Men" takes a highly critical look at the Obama administration's handling of the financial crisis. Tonight on "Piers Morgan Tonight," National Economic Council Director Gene Sperling fires back. "I've been here since day one, and I want to say unequivocally the premise of Ron Suskind's book is dead wrong," he tells Piers Morgan. "I saw the President sit in the Roosevelt Room for hours asking penetrating questions and then he made the difficult call."

Please Piers–Get off saying people earning OVER one million dollars, asked to pay the same as middle class, is
financial warfare. It is simple equalizing taxes. It will not stop additional jobs. It can only help the economy. We have to
increase taxes somewhere besides all the cuts, to get out of some of our problems. Get real!!!!

How is it penalizing someone making them pay their fair share. The economy was fine back when the rich were taxed at rates MUCH MUCH HIGHER than they are being taxed at now. Reaganomics, the Bush tax cuts, and the stubbornness of the Republican party on revenue is the problem with this country. Exactly how much money do the top 2% in this country need? While the poor and middle class struggle to raise their children, put food on the table and a roof over their families heads Republicans have made it so the ultra rich are coddled and allowed to use loopholes, tax cuts, and fancy accounting to pay less then your average middle class household in taxes. How is this ok? It isn't moral, should not be legal, and is a disgrace to what this country stands for. This great country does not stand for greed and selfishness, it stands for us being united in our goals, United in strengthening this economy so everyone can live the American Dream. Not just 2% of us.
I paid 35% tax rate last year, 180k, and hedge fund managers who made billions paid 15%? How is that fair? I should have paid 15% and they 35% if our system was fair!!!

Watching Piers Morgan use inflammatory language to question Joe McGinniss is really an embarrassment to CNN and its viewer's intelligence. Piers claims the moral high ground in questioning McGinniss on this tactics and this is from a guy that was at the center of the world's most extensive phone hacking scandal. Piers needs to stick to his comical routine on America's Got Talent and leave serious journalism to those like Anderson Cooper. Hopefully CNN will come to a realization that the host should not be headline and news, but with such failings as In the Arena I am not sure CNN has learned much.

Morgan was an entertainment reporter for The Sun (1989–94), and editor of News of the World (1994–95) and the Daily Mirror (1995–04). He did plenty of damage to people's reputations at all of them, and laughed about it all the way to the bank. Lying, exaggerating, going for the jugular...the whole ball o' wax.
After having practically been run out of Britain on a rail, Morgan took Simon Cowell's advice and moved to the U.S. where American viewers don't really know his tawdry tabloid history. Now Morgan's sordid past is being exposed along with every other low life snarling jackal at NoTW, etc. Without a public acknowledgment–indeed, an apology for deceiving the public during his years as an editor for not one but three notorious British tabloids–I don't think Morgan will ever be able to wash the stink off himself from being mentored by Rupert Murdoch and Kelvin Mackenzie, both repulsive yellow journalists. Now he's trotting himself out as a quality but "dangerous" mainstream interviewer on CNN. Shame on CNN for hiring this disreputable and lame excuse for a journalist. It’s a sad day for journalism when Piers Morgan is considered “quality journalism.”
Mr. Morgan: You did not interview the author of the book about Palin. . You bullied, interrupted and harassed him repeatedly. I would have appreciated the opportunity to hear the gentleman speak. Unfortunately it was not to be. It would be interesting to count the number of sentences he was able to complete w/o you butting in. Your dismissive rudeness at the end of the interview demonstrated the perfect ending for a thoroughly tacky presentation on your part.
If this is your idea of professional journalism, perhaps you should see what is available at Fox News.

Mr. Morgan, This was by far the worst interview I've witnessed from you. You did not give Mr. McGinniss to answer your unprofessional barrage of questions, that frankly made little sense. You didn't allow him to respond. You should appolize to Mr. McGinniss and have him back to conduct a proper interview. I now question your credibility as a journalist you so aspire to be.
I thought Piers was simply rude and ungracious at the end of the interview....you can and should do better!
I am absolutely sick and tired of this arrogant and rude Piers Morgan .... what's the point of interviewing when he is forever interrupting and appears to have his own agenda – he should be on some other network. Can't understand how CNN could have someone like Anderson Cooper and Piers Morgan back to back ... they are not in the same league ... but maybe that's the catch – SHAME on you CNN !

* Federal Budget – $3,820,000,000,000
* New debt – $1,650,000,000,000
* National debt – $14,271,000,000,000
* Recent budget cuts – $38,500,000,000
To understand it better let's remove 8 zeros from the figures and pretend
this is the household budget for the Jones family.
* Annual family income – $21,700
* Amount of money the Jones family spent – $38,200
* Amount of new debt added to the credit card – $16,500
* Outstanding balance on the credit card – $142,271
* Household budget cut by – $385
At the conclusion of well publicised debate in the US congress the result
was to cut the budget by $385. Not enough and consequently the US AAA
Rating was downgraded to AA+.
The question to be asked is this.
Does our Congress, Senate and President care about this more than their politics?
Well, BEFORE Cooper trotted out his stupid "Ridiculist," you could say that, Lucille. Now they're just two hack peas in a pod.
Anderson was reporting about a young man who committed suicide from being bullied in school. Where do these kids learn such behavior? From Morgan and Anderson and South Park and every other bully pulpit occupied by the malicious media.
Piers Morgan appreciate your openess and honest dialogue with your guests. Could you ask this tough question: How many staff members does Michele Obama have? Why does she have them? How much salary is each staff member receiving? Would she be willng to do her part to lower America's debt? It's been said no First Lady ever has had a staff like hers, nor spent as much money.! Tough questions and Piers Morgan = oxymoron. A rude and arrogant interviewer does not a quality talk show make.
Don't you have better questions that matter to Americans. Why are you so obsessed with Mr. Obama's wife. Even if she reduced her staff that will not help you at all. You can ask better questions, this one is too cheap to even deserve space here.
I think that the debt problem will be solved by a Republican who can cut spending and 2/3's of the government. Keep the military and enlarge it. Get rid of the EPA, Homeland Security, Housing, Education and Welfare. Turn that over to the states. The fcc will merge with the Commerce dept. Oh there's a lot more that I'd cut to save money and cut the damn debt.

Lets face it, Suskind is right. I voted for Obama but he has proven to be largly ineffective and disassociated from those he must work with. He's not good enough for the job.
