READ about Piers Morgan's long career in journalism here.
Filmmaker and author Michael Moore was the guest on "Piers Morgan Tonight" for the hour, in a live town hall. He talked about the Occupy Wall Street movement, growing each week."This is going to be much larger than the tea party," said Moore. "No one's going to remember the tea party."
Moore also talked about outsourcing:
Moore: "I would have laws that would make it very hard to do that, even illegal, to do that."

How can Morgan Freeman claim that Obama is wanted out of the next presidency because he's black and on racist grounds when in fact he's been totally inefective, regardless of the reason since he came to power. He's done just about nothing to improve on the situation America are currently in and seem to have no real plan.
Dr King said once to look at a persons character and not at there skin, Well Obama may be a nice guy but his character has been very poor and indecisive.
How can one person with a hand towel stop a river when the lot of people keep throwing water in river? In 2001, America was on a breaking point with it's economy. Consumer confidence was looking to Washington D.C. for it standard. When it became between Bush Jr. and Al Gore to look to for leadership the people said it is on us. Corruption and selfishness pusued. You want to blame a day, Go to IOWA caucus 2000. As Far as Obama – Look to 535 people in Congress and 9 in Supreme court that have not helped at all.
There's always got to be a race excuse if a person of color is disliked. I was once told by an African-American that they, African-Americans, can't be racist because they don't have the power to be such. Hmmmm, looks to me that they are just as racists, if not more so, than any other race here in the U.S. And not having the power? BS.
Piers, I think you're an absolute ass. You ask long winded questions, then don't allow the person to answer without interrupting. Your continute attempts to get Michael Moore to admit he's in the 1% were inappropriate, since he said several times that he is not. How many times does he need to say that for you to accept his answer?
You're a poor excuse for replacing Larry King. Just a total ASS!
Michael Moore is worth $50 million! He is the 1%! Look it up! What a joke!!
You must have been too busy trying to write your response to listen. Michael Moore differentiated between people like himself, who make money because people buy their products, and current Wall Street types, who make money off money, moving it around, sheltering it, doing nothing for the economy, and contributing to inflation and lower standards of living for the rest of the population. They influence government policy far too much. This corporatism is the root of the problem in the U.S. These are the 1% that Moore is referring to.

How can the couple who were both nurses ~$60K x 2 ($120,000) not make be making it?
It depends on what you mean by "making it". I make over $100K a year, but if I had to move tomorrow, I would be in the hole on my mortgage for $50,000 (and no, I didn't buy above my means – my house dropped from $300,000 in 2003 to $150,000 today).
She stated that they do not have a Fannie/Freddie backed mortgage. That would imply the mortgage is more than $417,000. That is the problem – they bought a house they could not afford.
I live in a 2 bedroom Cape that was built in the 1950s.
Just because someone is a nurse doesn't mean that they are making $60,000/year. There are many different kinds of nursing jobs out there. I happen to be a school nurse. Also, just because it isn't a Freddie or Fannie loan, doesn't mean the loan is over $400,000. I wish I lived in such a home! The mortgage company (which is no longer in business) who originated the loan overinflated the appraisal so they could make the most money possible. The interest rate is high, it is an adjustable rate mortgage. They were like, "Don't worry, you can just refinance before the rate resets." Then the market crashed and the rest is history. When things were good, my town raised everybody's property taxes based on the high property values of the time. Have they reassessed since everything bottomed out? No. And, I live in the state with the highest tax burden in the country, where they just raised our State Income Tax and Sales Tax. You know what they say about people who assume...
I watched the interview last night and it was probably the most intellectually dishonest interview I have ever seen.
Michael Moore is a fat communist.
For the life of me i can't understand the way some people think in the U.S. Why doesn't the U.S. adopt a regulated banking system like ours? Our banks didn't need bail outs, our real estate is stable, our economy is growing moderatly and all because our system doesn't allow people to get in over their heads. One huge difference is we don't get to write off the interest on our mortages so we strive to pay them off as soon as we can. We own property in the States and travel there as often as possible. It is sad to see how many people are hurting, some because they were living way beyond their means, but alot through no fault of their own. The games your Wall Street bankers played with the peoples money is plain and simply criminal and has to be stopped. Why didn't Bush let them go broke, guarantee the people investments and re-open the banks with tough regulations so this never happens again!
I'm a Canadian watcher of your show. (Love it) It seems that our Parliamentary system of Governments works better than the US presidential system. Our leaders are allowed to lead. I find the current GOP disgusting, cruel, and rather stupid. One of the reasons Germany is doing quite well is that they have not outsourced their manufacturing sector. My own home is full of items from Germany from washing machine, toaster, etc. to paper serviettes.
Pierce Morgan is making a difference. Michael Moore is standing tall! Thnak you CNN for caring!
Michael Moore...Really.. Supporter of the 'cause, makes movies (for profit) and spends his money (what percent I wonder) on the plight of the poor 99%. I think the guy is an ass clown... but I kind of want to work for him... it seems in his worlld NOBODY has to be accountable for their own actions, ever.... what a great environment, you just always have a blanket excuse to not be accountable....
Fiction is right! Moore isn't standing tall – he's standing "round".
Really this is the best u could come up with Michael Moore. If u are going to put on someone so damn dumb have me on next to him to at least keep him in check from making such stupid comments. His first lie was about not being in the 1 per cent. His time should have stopped there.
when i heard u took over for liberal larry I thought maybe u would be different - but I watched both times u had this blob on and u let him off the hook. He spits out statements like they are facts and u just let him spew that crap.
this is why I watch fox news - cnn is still crap
Michael Moore might be worth millions however that doesn't mean he is smart or educated.
I really don't know why he even gets TV time , he talks a lot of drivel and is extremely ill informed and most of what he has to say is actually misleading and not true.
Michael Moore spouts drivel? Prove it, if you think you're such an intellect. Did you listen to DonaldTrump talking about Occupy Wall Street protestors being there for dating purposes and still suggesting that Obama's birth certificate is phony? He also thinks the biggest problem in the World is not that we continue to plunder third world countries, but that China is making us look bad. Now there's drivel.
Michael Moore is not part of the 1%? In whose book? Bet he makes more than 99% of the people – let's see his tax forms and his gross income. Put up or shut up. Dig a little deeper, Piers.
I'll have to agree with poster Rick Roedocker – I've seen nothing but FAR left liberal crap from CNN. There's no one in the middle, but Fox looks better all the time.
Michael Moore makes great movies, but he is not a good interview...just doesn't articulate facts quickly and convincingly. Ralph Nader would be the one to interview about these issues. He understands the problems and does the research, plus his mind is like a computer when it comes to syntheslizing the issues.
People don't seem to fully understand what the whole OWS ideal about 99% vs the 1%. The point is NOT just HOW much money you make, but the IDEALS you believe in. If you agree the system is unfair that is the whole point of protest! The question that was asked to Moore was if he believes he is in the 1% mindset and that the rules that are governing our economy are fair to everyone. I agree with his answer. He is not with those that are part of the 1% so he is correct in saying he is part of the other 99%.
