Darrell Hammond's worst "SNL" meltdown: "It involved being taken from there in a straitjacket"

Former "Saturday Night Live" cast member Darrell Hammond opens up to Piers Morgan in an emotional interview tonight on "Piers Morgan Tonight" at 9pmET/PT. "I was melting down once a week over there," he says of his worst time with the show. "They went pretty far out of their way to help me. I think on some level they understood that, as you mentioned off the air, that probably the job saved my life."

What was the worst breakdown? "It was pretty damned bad. It involved being taken from there in a straitjacket," he said. Watch the full interview tonight at 9pmET/PT.

Jermaine jackson is an idiot. Trying to blame his freak of a brothers death on someone else. Then he writes a book just to make money on it. Always jealous of Micheal right Jermaine. Even after he is dead your still trying to live off his coattails. If your brother was dumb enough to let someone inject something into him that would kill him then so be it.

THANK YOU, DARRELL for your courage to speak out. My mother is a sociopath and the abuse growing up was miserable. Only 7 yrs ago did I finally admit to myself how awful she was as a mother and like you, I suffered from PTSD. And though I saw several therapists it was as if they didn't want to admit to the problem either, perhaps to keep me in therapy and the $$ coming for because of ignorance, I don't know which. Again, thanks for being forthcoming about his dreadful problem which causes unnecessary depression in adults. Oh, and people used to ask why I wasn't married. I would laugh and say, "Me? Married? And who would be my role models for that??"

Dear Darrell, I'm not up on your story yet but just caught the tail end of your CNN interview and have seen you on SNL and found you be the saviour for the show over the years. I can only imagine your entire story but wanted to let you know that for whatever reason you touched my heart....take care.

Hi There Lisa,Thanks you for your post, Collecting rent is one of those situations where I have to use some rules of thumb, some flnieeg, some gut to try to figure out whether it's time to go and do the eviction or do we try to work with the tenant and see if they can get caught up. Maybe it's a temporary problem. We can do a weekly or monthly payment plan and maybe we can get them back on paying again.Cheers

Darrell, I am sorry to hear of your pain and suffering.
America is a pathetic Country, it leads in hypocrisy, not democracy. We have homes for delinquent children, however no safe heavens for abused children.
America spends an enormous amount of taxpayers funds on wars because we rather prove that we are powerful rather than use diplomacy. Wars are destroying too many people's lives, whether physically or mentally and emotionally and yet, our politicians do not want changes.
Our politicians are holding the economy of our country hostage because they want to see Obama fail and do not care as to the damage they are causing the country and it's citizens. They are elected to service our Country and it's citizens, however their only concern is power, fortune, fame and holding to their job. They believe that they are so powerful that they are above the law. Obviously, we have criminally insane people leading our Country. Need I say more as to the reason America is failing?

PURE SATIRE. Darrell Hammond was crying before he even started the interview. It was over the top. He was obviously hamming it up to stir Piers Morgan, who's not the most popular fellow. Hammond is a comedian; he's just doing his job. It was a satire of the typical Piers Morgan tearful, tell-all, "how many times have you truly been in love?" , "personality-driven" interview.

I'm a college professor with an 18 year old son. Probably old than you , Gran. Ad hominem attacks are pointless. If you don't agree with me, attack the substance of my thesis rather than me. I'm probably older than you. If a comedian gets on TV and he's crying before the interview even begins, it is well worth considering that he might just be taking Piers and some of his more gullible viewers for a ride. Unfortunately, it's not respectful to people like myself who were victims of childhood physical and psychological abuse. His story may even be true but his delivery was comedic. Often comics make jokes out of their most painful memories. It's a way of coping.
And what else can you make of a brother (Jermaine) who can't even speak at a 6th grade level of English, and his celebrity brother whose toxicology report showed five different addictive drugs in his system? Unfortunately, this is all too common in American society.

Did anyone get a load of the five times Jermaine said "irreVELent" (sic). He just repeated the mantra, "He's a liar, he was found guilty by 12 jurors and what he says is irreVELant", over and over again. It got so tedious and I felt sorry for Piers, who kept his cool. I would have been so frustrated in his place. The Jacksons might be very musical but Jermaine doesn't have a brain in his head. I guess that's what happens when you get yanked out of school and thrown onto the stage, throughout your childhood. They would have received little or no education. Jermaine only had one chart hit so he could have done with a college degree or even a high school diploma. I wonder how he's survived over the years. Probably from Michael's generosity. And now Jermaine is making a mint off his brother again, by writing a book. What a pathetic loser. The last interview he did was just as bad. The Jacksons think that Michael wasn't a drug addict because he didn't use drugs for fun. They are totally in denial. When you take benzodiazepines and Demerol every day for years, you are by definition a rabid drug addict. Both of these drugs take only weeks for physical addiction to set in. It doesn't matter why you use them or where you get them from. And then there's the Propofol. The truth is that Michael Jackson holds a lot of the responsibility for his own death. He was reckless with his drug intake. He should have chosen to enter a treatment facility. The entire Jackson family should have united to set up an intervention.

After 40 I have learned to get rid of those pelope who are not enhancing my life. I have no time for relationships that suck the life out of me I am enjoying having less friends, but more quality and depth in the relationships I have now. Not missing the drama even a little!

I think Conrad Murray is not Guilty of Micheal Jacksons death. Micheal Jackson had many many problems long before Murray came on the scene. Anyone who dangles a baby of a balcony is subject to problem issues. How come his so called loving , Christian family were not there for him.Give us all a break Jermaine.

Darrell, Thank you for being honest. I'm a victim myself. I've never talked about my situation. But, when I hear you discuss life, maybe, maybe I"m ready to come out, to talk about my situation, 30 years I've been holding it in. You are helping people. Please, please don't don't stop.

PLEASE, this was all BS, I am outraged at those, of course after they have made millions, come out with these stories. PLEASE, let's talk about those who REALLY had TRAUMA in their lives, like ME! I went through foster care and it F'd me up...but I have never made millions and I am not pushing a book. Give me a fricken BREAK! I am so sick of these washed up people trying to lay down their sad story, SHUT THE F up! Regardless of truth, you overcame and be grateful, if true, it does not lessen the the pain but keep it to yourself, I am so sick of these people who need a soap box! If it really matters to you, go make a private difference in the lives of those who STILL struggle and DON'T live in a mansion. Get OVER YOURSELF!

FX Wiz – Sounds like YOU'RE the one on the soap box and obviously never gotten help. Boo Hoo..I don't see overcoming in your comments. Reality gives Hammond a major thumbs up, but not Piers Morgan WHO NEEDS TO BE REPLACED WITH SOMEONE WHO KNOWS HOW TO INTERVIEW.

Hey people" no matter what Michael Jackson" was a human being" and if he hired a doctor to help him get over or help from a sleep disorder" he was in his right's to do so. I did tribute song for Michael Jackson called "Michael Moonwalkin" this doctor was paid good money to help Michael" you can't never say Michael Jackson did any wrong for doing his God given right to seek help" Conrad Murray" caused his death" his job was to treat Michael with all the care to the best of his abilty" Michael Jackson's life was in his hands: he was lucky they should have charged him with murder" what if it was your family member:

You actually make it seem so easy along with your presentation however I find this topic to be actually one thing that I believe I'd never understand. It kind of feels too complex and very extensive for me. I am having a look ahead to your subsequent post, I will attempt to get the grasp of it!
