Rob Lowe on Romney vs. Obama: "I think it would be a high level of discourse"

Actor Rob Lowe is a guest on "Piers Morgan Tonight" this evening, and he handicaps the 2012 GOP field. "I'm not so sure any party should pick a candidate based solely on whether they can beat the other candidate," Lowe tells Piers Morgan. "I think it should be about what the person stands for and where they're going to take the country."

He also talks about what would happen if it ends up being Mitt Romney vs. Pres. Barack Obama. "I think it would be a high level of discourse," says Lowe. Watch the full interview tonight at 9pmET – also on the show, Bruno Mars. [Lowe also talks about his book - watch some of the audio version here.]

Oh brother! Lowe just played a political analyst on TV–he's just an actor. Why turn to him as any kind of political authority?

He's not dead YET?? :)Brian, your concept of "partisan" is lbughaale. If anything, CNN would be the LEAST "partisan" of all the cable news networks.Fox has been on the decline and I somehow don't see Snow at MSNBC, so what's the most logical alternative?Do YOU "partisans" fear you might, one day, need to come out of the regressive media ghetto you have created for yourselves, and actually place yourselves into an environment where you'd be expected to function with some level of journalistic integrity?

Sorry Piers! A lot of us find Rob Lowe much hotter than Bruno Mars–as elisabeth said in previous comment. I turned
to another show when Bruno came on.

Piers: When are you going to have Sir Paul McCartney on your show? When you do ;could you ask him this Question???
Paul ; when you write a song and you get to a part of the song that your not sure of;do you ever look up in the sky and ask John what he might say?
    thank you: Greg Walkiewicz

if you are going use 2x6s for your sub floor i would use 8.your 4 cornersand your 4 on nteecr between the corners.if you use 2 8 i would thinkjust the 4 corners would be enough.(sonotube filled with cement) makesure you put the crown of the board up.if you go with the 4 4 suggestiondo not set them in concrete! they will absorb moisture crack theconcrete and eventually rot. when you pour your cement set an anchorbolt in it (1/2 8 with hook on the end). as used in foundations. nowyou can use post bracket to set your post on (buy them at Lowe's orhome depot) or drill a 5/8 hole in a block of wood and bolt it to the topof the pier. then you can nail your band board to the block of wood.(block on the inside of course) note: make sure your piers are leveland layed out square.

Piers Morgan just asked an actor to analyse politics. He does this with all his guests. People who just have a passing knowledge of what is happening policitally should only give passing comments and not be asked to give in-dept analyses.
PIers Morgan is never prepared for his interviews. To me he asks the same questions to all his guests.

Hash to bad it was not MOP that's the only way he will have any peace. He’s going to lose his mind when OB spends us into ooivlibn and gets voted out for pushing a Marxist agenda. The country will survive but be short a few trillion. Then we will end up swinging to far to the right.

Hi Piers, Me thinks you're doing a great job. Rob Lowe just gave a correct assessment of the GOP/Romney palaver.

Of course this screenname is just a silly handle. I don't know who I'm voting for yet. I just thought I'd send this kinda biting parody of a Paulite conspracy theory, for kicks. It's kinda interesting, though, because those Intrade markets sure make this conspiracy theory look a lot less paranoid than I first thought. If you're interested, I'll send people screenshots from 9:12 PM and 9:27 PM, when I last looked at the Intrade markets.

    Begin silly Paulista parody:

From the great vast evil Huntsman conspiracy:

As we can see, news of our great conspiracy to slime Ron Paul has made my share price on Intrade go way up! My chances of coming in 2nd in new Hampshire, according to Intrade, has quadrupled today, from $0.75 to $3.00 as of 9:12 PM. Great work. Now somebody has to remember to sell some overall Paul shares on the nomination, so it doesn't look like my campaign's just trading on its supposed insider information! After all, while shares of Paul's second place finish in new Hampshire have dropped by 9.5%, his shares for winning the overall nomination haven't dropped at all! And all the prices of all candidates for New Hampshire 2nd Place add up to over 105% as of 9:27 PM Eastern, so it looks like my campaigns buying my own shares, but forgetting to sell others. That's just silly. We need to work on that.

You've slimed those Ron Paul supporters by uncritically accepting a racist ad and attributing it to them without any fact-checking, and made them out to be crazy and conspirational! Then when Politico floated that story that a consulting group working for Paul found evidence that our campaign put up the ad, we got to dismiss Paull supporters as paranoid and crazy, even though Paul's campaign didn't actually say anything. http://www.politico.com/blogs/burns-haberman/2012/01/paul-analysis-floats-huntsman-video-link-spokesman-109958.html

In fact, we have a wide variety of stories about how Paul's own supporters are his worst enemy, so we can shame people for supporting Paul, like this: http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/compost/post/ron-paul-supporters-and-that-awful-huntsman-attack-ad/2012/01/06/gIQAPfswfP_blog.html

Heck, we even got Alter to dismiss Intrade markets just today! So when somebody looks at Intrade AFTER we put out our fake evidence and finds signs of Insider Trading, we can dismiss it! http://www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cgi?f=/g/a/2012/01/06/bloomberg_articlesLXCOF51A1I4H.DTL

This sets up our next move perfectly. Tomorrow, January 9, 2012, when we release fake evidence that the Twitter accounts of the video actually came from Paul supporters, this will reinforce the meme that you established, and let us be "publically smeared" once again by the "crazy Paul supporters". Remember, we established with Piers Morgan last week that Paul can't control his own followers, right Piers?:) Great work! Just make sure those Paulites don't have some ironclad proof that we're sliming them....but that's impossible, we're sure. And be sure to accept everything about Paul's supporters without doing any fact checking! Watch out, though. Those Paulites might have some damning piece of evidence on us......wait, that's just silly. And laugh it off when Jon Stewart parodies you later next week. You're used to that by now, right?

Remember, keep buying those Huntsman shares!

And remember, when you uncritically accept negative information about someone because they're unpopular in your peer group, then you and your peer group look totally cool in front of everyone, and you can't possibly end up looking foolish.

    Now a few notes:

Breitbart- way to make this happen for us. You'll do anything. It's amazing.

Atlantic – whoa, guys, we never thought you'd go this far for us. We didn't know your strong preference for internationalist foreign policy would make you guys just accept anything about a guy!

Washington Post – wow, I mean, just wow. We never thought we'd get you to run a story like that "racist ad" so uncritically. Not even The New York Times did that! And it's great you have such pliant employees like Jennifer Rubin and Alexandra Petri. They'll just say anything on your pages.

RedState – man, the way you and your followers agree with each other all the time is just so cool. Everybody really admires you.

FoxNews- We can always count on you guys. Remember, Iran=Al qaeda, even though the two groups have diametrically opposed agendas!

HuffPo- You guys came through like champs. We gotta cut the legs out of the kids by making Paul look totally uncool. Keep up the good work.

Comedy Central – Don't mock the crap out of those other guys, and really hurt their feelings. We forget, are you on hiatus this week?

CNN/Piers Morgan – Piers, you looked so cool when you interviewed Ron Paul and secretly had Huntsman there. Nobody thought you guys looked like 13 year-old girls. Remember, when you adopt the assumptions of your social circle and do things like that, you end up looking very admirable.

Rachel Maddow, yeah, we know you wanna be all honest and fair, but you know you'll lose precious social status among your colleagues if you defend Paul! Keep your mouth shut, and above all, don't criticize your co-workers. We prefer team-players, you know.

Sully- We really just plain hate you

    End silly parody

WHY DOESN'T ROMNEY RELEASE HIS TAX FORMS? IS IT BECAUSE HE DOESN'T PAY TAXES? OR HE DOESN'T WANT US TO KNOW HE OWNS A 15 MILLION DOLLAR HOME IN CA & A 10 MILLION DOLLAR HOME IN NH PLUS 3 OTHERS..& WHY 5 DEFERRMENTS DURING THE VIET NAM WAR ? PLUS HE WILL NEVER SEND HIS 5 SONS TO WAR ?....JUST SAYING .....
