Clips From Last Night: Rick Santorum addresses the prospect of Israel attacking Iran, and Jerry Springer shares his thoughts on Mitt Romney

Rick Santorum joined Piers Morgan live from Nevada last night as he prepares for Saturday's caucus.  The candid and emotional interview ranged in topic, featuring the former senator's thoughts on everything from religion, to a potential conflict between Iran and Isreal:  "Why are we letting Israel alone to do something that is in our national security interest also," asked Santorum.  "Iran has been at war with us for 30 plus years."

As the live hour continued, Morgan welcomed Jerry Springer for a face-to-face chat.  Known nationwide for his tabloid talk program "The Jerry Springer Show," the television host is also a former mayor with strong political opinions, particularly on Mitt Romney:  "Why is he running for president?  In other words, he could be a wonderful person, bright, and all that.  Lovely family man, smart, and all that," said Springer.  "But I don't sense any passion. When he says 'I'm running for the soul of America,' what soul!"

You should check out Ron Paul. He is one of the few republicans that TRULY cares about the poor yet at the same time does not support taking money from one group and rewarding another which in the end WE the taxpayers end up paying in the long run. The problem is not that the government doesn't get enough money its that it spends to much. I like Obamas idea of fairness but he needs to also cut down on the spending side of the budget to do the right thing and get the government out of the way of small businesses to let them grow and not stifle them by implementing more fairness legislation which ends up being unfair any way in the long run.

Jerry hit it right on the head with the goals of the GOP, they cannot focus on what they need to do because they are so determined to get PRESDENT OBAMA out of office, Shame On You!...Grow Up and play the game you invented and a whole lotta other people have caught wind of......Game On!!!!

Glad to see you blogging again. Yours is a voice I miessd. But I totally understand. It\'s difficult to find the line between sharing your life and telling other people\'s stories because your life is not lived in a vacuum. Save the really, really good stuff for your novels, wherein you can doctor and hide the stories a bit more.

Seriously? We are supposed to care what Jerry Springer thinks? How much has he done for the poor since he became a multi-millionaire selling trash on TV?

Good question. He appears to genuinely care but who knows. My biggest beef with him is that he truly believes that business cannot manage themselves and should be totally regulated by the government. The problem is that regulation is what stifles business growth and increases the operating costs of business making it less profitable thus you have less businesses and less Americans employed.

I guess Brian must be surprised that Sam Seder is in line for the 9am-noon osteilmt. Last I remember he was saying "Co-host Sam Seder seems to have moved into an ongoing fill-in role for other hosts, including Al Franken this week. Is this it for Seder, or will he slide into a late- night position?" (from his July 3, 2006 article)I guess his Air America source must have been wrong about that one.

i am not ashamed to say that i loved the shoe-throwing inceidnt (though i hope it doesn't suggest the guy would've also thrown a bomb) and i love the Jerry Springer show. in such times of political correctness, it's all so refreshing. good ideas, dubi. i think you're onto something. who knows, maybe it will The Jerry Springer Show that will settle world conflict, in the end. no, i doubt it though. by the way. is that show still on? i don't have cable and i sure do miss all that white trash

28th November 2010 at 5:54 pmI live with a tabloid alrunjoist. He tells me how they have to asses the people before they follow up a story. If they're not white and British, the story isn't generally followed up. If you're a woman then you also have to be considered attractive too. He once told me about a story he covered of a young disabled boy. They dropped it because they thought he looked "too disabled" in the photos. Its disgraceful stuff, but I suppose they know their market. Reply
