Last night Piers Morgan sat down with singer/songwriter Kenny "Babyface" Edmonds and Grammy-winning record producer David Foster to remember their dear friend Whitney Houston. Piers doesn't like the way Houston was taken care of last week. He noted "anyone can go out and get drunk but if you were a well chronicled addict who's been to hell and back with this addiction, Is there nobody in that Whitney system?" Edmonds explained Houston was very strong willed. "She was going to do what she wanted to do."
Edmonds also remembered Houston's incredible voice: “I don’t care how many people would sing ‘I will always love you’, they will never do it that way," he said. "When she sang that song, she nailed it. That was it. No one will ever do this again.”

Piers Morgan, please ask some much-needed tough questions tonight for Rick Santorum. Santorum has not had to answer any scrutinizing questions about his record because hasn’t been a front-runner. It appears that his popularity is based on not liking Mitt or Newt. Process of elimination is not the most effective way to choose a leader. I am not convinced that Santorum is fiscally conservative. I am NOT convinced that he is ready to lead. (Obama sure wasn't). PLEASE Piers, ask challenging questions to show us how he will stand up in a general election!!
Piers,
Well I could not have agreed more with your sentiment from last evening's program chronicalling the life and recent death of Whitney Houston. As much as I think her importance is being sonewhat overblown,as really, she is a singer with a few really lovely songs and entertained us during her prime. What folllows is sad but all to familiar now. What resinated the most with me though, he how truly cut-throat, heartless, and lonely Tinseltown really is. This woman had a public meltdown in the days leading up to the Grammy's and not one person had the integrity and morality to step in and stop the circus. Because Whitney is really worth more to the Spinners as a drug addicted trainwreck than as a quiet wash-uped star. Does anyone have a true friend in that town? All of those close to her should hang in their heads in shame that they did not step up.
Its just so dam ridiculous I cant help but laugh. Then again she looks happy and I'm happy as long as shes off drugs and siinngg again. And come on we all have seen the video at least snippets of it his thang is HUGE!!!!! haha so he must be putting in work.
Merely wanna admit that this is very useful , Thanks for tkaing your time to write this. Hollywood is a place where people from Iowa mistake each other for stars. by Fred Allen.
Piers. I understand the need for journalists to tell a story. As an educator by trade, I even see the great wish in everyone to teach the lesson in Whitney Houston's death and again warn about drugs and additcion...But I would plead with CNN, HLN to balance coverage...my goodness at least until the funeral. Whitney is a child of God. We all carry burdens and trials. She is a mother and a daughter, bother of whom are now aching for her. I can't fathom what this coverage would do to them if they turned on the t.v. Please consider the heaviness with which networks are pushing one side of the story recently. Let her be laid to rest.
I second Liz's request, and also wish CNN would post video clips from some of these interviews that dealt with other issues than the most sensational! This really makes CNN look like The Enquirer or TMZ, and not the "respectable" news organization it is supposed to be. Please, guests like Chaka Khan & Babyface, David Foster, etc, are giving rare & expert views into other aspects of the music industry & music in general, and these are what you should be sharing with the public. We have been deluged enough with all the "feigned concern" spun sensationalism, let's hear about something more of her life....
The real pain that Whitney carried, I think, is from being booed and criticized by fellow blacks. No one ever wants to discuss how that affected her for the rest of her career.
Whitney was the most beautiful woman on earth, with a golden voice that was unmatched, and yet other African-Americans trashed her. They booed her when she won an award for her talent at a 1989 NAACP Image Awards ceremony and called Whitney "an oreo", a sell-out, a traitor, etc. etc. because they viewed her success as being "too white". So apparently, being truly "black" is being an unsuccessful, tough, lewd, out of control, drug addict with no shame?
Whitney may have looked strong-willed, but I think that desire to fit in to the African-American stereotype overwhelmed her and crushed her spirit. Whoever participated in cruelly berating her for her success (which isn't black, white, purple, or otherwise) – are you happy now!? She's just another dead junkie. Is that what you wanted?
If people altcauly listened to how Whitney sounded most of the tour especially toward the end she altcauly sung even better than this. Funny how people are consumed by a few tabloid headlines and take a few bad notes out of context. Whitney never left, some of her fans did, but they are returning to honour the one true legend left, our Nippy
Whitney – Misty,I cannot begin to thank you for these iprtuce, we love them! We will now have these wonderful memories forever.Thank you so much again Whitney
