• Nations to seek cease-fire as slaughter in Syria rages on: "World powers convening Friday in Tunisia are mapping out a plan to deliver humanitarian aid, call for a cease-fire and give political legitimacy to the Syrian opposition, while details emerged that Arab nations have begun supplying arms to Syrian rebels, sources told CNN."

• 35,000 Postal Service jobs on the chopping block: "The U.S. Postal Service announced on Thursday new plans to consolidate or close 223 mail processing plants, putting 35,000 jobs at stake starting in late May or June. The move would save $2.1 billion and is part of the agency's broader effort to save $20 billion in the next three years."

• John Edwards sex tape to be destroyed after settlement reached: "A former aide and a former mistress of one-time presidential candidate John Edwards have settled a civil lawsuit between them that, among other measures, mandates the imminent destruction of sex tapes featuring Edwards and the woman."

• Indiana lawmaker refuses to honor Girl Scouts: "Indiana State Rep. Bob Morris set off a firestorm after he told colleagues he wanted to check the facts before signing a fairly routine state resolution.
