Michele Bachmann on Rush Limbaugh's Sandra Fluke comments: "I have never seen this level of outrage"

Tonight Piers Morgan welcomes Congresswoman Michele Bachmann to the program, for a face-to-face, spirited discussion on everything from Rush Limbaugh to Barack Obama to Kirk Cameron.

In response to the recent controversy surrounding Limbaugh's comments on Sandra Fluke, Bachmann addressed the overwhelming amount of attention, drawing from her personal experience:

"I have gone through myself, and experienced, more things said about me and I have never seen this level of outrage on the left about what left-leaning commentators said about me."

As the fiery sit down continues, the Republican from Minnesota details what she deems to be an imbalance in criticism and negativity as related to gender and political party:

"If you're a conservative woman, it seems like there is no level of vitriol that's beyond the pale. I've been on the receiving end of it. We all know Governor Palin has been on the receiving end of it," Bachmann tells the "Piers Morgan Tonight" host. "I think that maybe that's what we should learn out of all of this, is that on both sides, we want to pay attention to what we're saying."

Tune in this evening at 9 p.m. ET/PT as the lively chat with Michele Bachmann continues on such topics as gay marriage, the economy, and healthcare.

Are you kidding? Bachmann wouldn't answer one question that Piers asked.
She's the one who talked over him....not to mention changing the subject (as only politicians can do) to avoid answering the question. I love how she instantly turns the tables and plays victim. What an idiot!

If you whatch Piers at all often, you should know that, though he is not perfect in everything he cares about gay rights, that he has friends who are gay and this issue something he is willing to sacrifice things for, is something he believes in personally and considering how very catholic he is, likely to be a painful one, as the catholics of today are less given to accepting liberal catholics than they used to be decades ago, or maybe they let the young be liberal and start to put the thumb screws on older catholics who have ideas of their own, we are in puritanical times in some ways. The pope says he does not like relativism, which means people who are catholic but disagree with the hardest of the vaticans lines in a number of points and relativists are given missionary treatment, hauled over the coals and re-taught their catechism from line one. Missionary treatment means being very tough on relitivists if my experience is anything to go by, relativist and other types of badies are the rotten apples who might spoil the whole lot, so they are pretty insulting with them on a very regular basis, occasional insults dont take so much out of you as a never stoppping rain of insults do and suggesting recalitrants will go to hell with a energy that makes you scared of their bad blood but then I live in Spain where catholics are, maybe, a bit more aggressive than they are in countries where they are a minority religion. Piers is likely to have to suffer a bit of persecution for this part of his convictions, as people in Russia suffered for not being communists, minus the actual physical trails of those who did not agree with the Soviet Union unless he totally cuts himself off from catholics, ie., his family for example. I odnt think he would say this just for political gain for the ideas he prefers with whats at stake for him as a catholic with this opinion, he would only say it if he has deep convictions on the subject. rose macaskie madrid.

It is extremely difficult to take seriously someone with this low level of literacy ! Studies show that the collective Republican IQ has been declining ever since the fundamentalists have reached heights of recognition in the party. This point keeps getting made over and over with paragraphs such as the above being posted over and over again.

She often seems a bit crazy to me but the problem is that her crazyness seems to be pretty common among populations now and that all over the world. The religions seem to have made a come back in some parts of the populations of many countries and as in the times when their numbers were going down, which were also very liberal times when even the church dignatories were being liberal balanced and sensible or the ones I knew appeared to be, we all forgot about how crazy they can get and started to see only the good side of religion so they are going to take us off our guard. The victorians wrote a lot about religous people who go too far but we are a long way from victorian times and have forgotten to keep a weathered eye on the religious or, when we ourselves are religious, on the more extreme of the religious, we need to remember they are not so innocous as we have started to feel they are. An islamist in American last week said it should be the job of the faithfull of Islam to keep an eye on the islamist community and make sure that the crazier part of Islam was not getting an upper hand among the faithfull, well he spoke well and christians also need to be on their guard against extremism in christianity. We need to talk of the things Bachmann says because so many other people hold her veiws and they talk a lot with anyone they can get to listen so as to convert people, so if we aren't pulling our weight and trying to explain the problems we have with them in such a way as to stop them getting too crazy, we are going to wake up to find that while we slept they have grown in numbers and have taken their craziest points a long way and got us all into a tangle tha twe will find ourselves regretting, that I am regretting already. rose macaskie madrid.

I remember the National Organization for Women coming out against the Newsweek cover. Ask Nancy Pelosi what she thinks about Bill Maher using the c-word to describe any women, and I'll bet you'll hear an earful. It's long past time for this to stop. Newt Gingrich was afwul to Michelle Bachmann. Rick Santorum's Iowa campaign chair sent out emails saying women serving in positions of authority over men was not God's plan. Enough, already. Congresswoman Bachmann, I'm a liberal Democrat, and I think no-one should call you anything but Congresswoman, Ma'am, or Ms. Bachmann. I'm sorry that Bill Maher is a rude, vitriolic person, and I will work harder to make sure women of all political stripes get fair treatment.

Gosh I'm glad to see some Lib. Dems being fair minded! Morgan's so biased I'm surprised any one who isn't a liberal will even go on his show. What a hypocrite to worry only about what Limbaugh said. How about the c__t, tw__t, sl_t, words tossed around along with other insults towards Palin, Bachman, Coulter, Malkin, and even Hillary when she opposed Mr. O???? Where was the outrage against Marr, Matthews, Mr. Ed, Olberman, and their ilk? It was nice to see the article by Kirsten Powers about this, about time someone spoke up.

Agreed. Rush just happens to be the current target, but ALL of this type of divisive hate-talk should be stopped by standing up as citizens and demanding it. Whether it is Limbaugh, Olberman or Maher, we're sick of ALL of it.

Stop buying from the sponsors of this type of show, and amazingly, it will start to fade away. This is not about free speech, it's about people using the free markets to improve the level of civility and dialogue in this broken country.

First, Rush tried to bully a woman into silence. When that didn't work, he whined that HIS free speech was being threatened. When that didn't work, he apologized, but the next day revoked his apology, blaming what he said on the Left. Now he has declared war on the sponsors who left, and is bullying the ones who remain into staying, by calling for his listeners to boycott any sponsor who leaves.

Remember in November: this vile Rush Limbaugh is the true inner voice of the Republican Party.

Mrs. Bachman and Mrs. Palin are powerful, political candidates seeking national office. The comments have been harsh against them by their GOP opponents and Democrat opponents. Tough skin is required especially by women candidates who are judged more harshly than men. But that arena is quite different than the 3-day national radio rant by Limbaugh against a private citizen (not running for public office), a private citizen wanting to testify about health care insurance benefits in a congressional hearing supported by taxpayer money. Limbaugh should attack the merits of the issue not the young woman. And the "right" has pressured advertisers in campaigns. The most recent one was against JCP who hired Ellen DeGeneres as a spokesperson.

I dont know how everyone on CNN can interview the republicans on healthcare and not call them out on the blatent lies they are repeating over and over again...
The government is not trying to hold your healthcare over your head and tell you what you can and cannot do anymore than they already do today... The end goal is not the gov inbetween you and your doctor, its to REMOVE the corporate approval for the doctor to do their job, its beyond absurdity... There are various governmental and private health commities with Doctors who approve various practices etc...

The arguement is over health insurance being run by a private company who's sole purpose is shareholder profit, a company selling health insurance dissaproves coverage based on what is profitable for them and what is allowed or guidlined practices deemed by the federal gov and other medical associations...
That means if you have some pre-existing conditions or some medical need, based on a cost/benefit analysis they will deny you coverage....

Every person has the RIGHT to have at least the option of a health insurance "company" that is NOT FOR PROFIT... AKA the Federal Government, like every other civilized country has.... you can leave the free market there if you want, watch they all die off as everyone moves to the federal health insurance which will always approve your coverage, and then in turn with the more customers the fed insurance "company" will have better leverage for medical costs..

Pierce you did an excellent job with Michele. She is such a babbling kook that it's hard to get her to answer questions directly. It reminds me of when Anderson Cooper asked her a question about Medicare and she went off on this crazy, loony rant about Obama's trip to India costing more than the Iraq war. And Anderson could never get her to get back on topic. She just kept on spewing out this load of deliberate lies and trash talk about our president. But you did as good a job as anyone could with her. You pressed her back to the direct questions. It's amazing that she can spew out all of her nasty, filthy rhetoric toward others and somehow feel like such a victim when someone calls her out on it. And what truly amazes me is that as anti-gay as she is.....SHE MARRIED A TOTAL FLAMER! I mean the first time that I heard the guy open his mouth I was shocked! But that's the kind of bizarre world that you live in when you belong to a kooky religious cult. And of course I am not talking about Christianity. Most Americans identify as Christian. People like her and Kirk Cameron are in what could only be described by any rational person as a religious cult. But anyway, you did a wonderful job. Thanks for a fun filled and enlightening show. Michelle has an advantage when she is using BS to Baffle Brains. She has almost no movement or expression left in her face, no muscle response, no "tells" that reveal her real reactions. Nothing moves but her lips and her eyelids. Surely this is another form of cheating on camera. She interrupted with impunity, talked over the host, denied the obvious, refused to take a stand on Limbaugh's comments and advertised herself as "the mother of 25 children", all without moving a muscle. Oh Michelle, next you'll be telling us you catered the Last Supper.
