Need to Know News: 'Stop Kony' video goes viral; World powers back 'sustained dialogue' on Iran nuclear program

Each day, we here at "Piers Morgan Tonight" put together the news you need to know – from what happened last night to what will happen today.

For March 8, 2012 – World powers back 'sustained dialogue' on Iran nuclear program; 'Stop Kony' video goes viral and a new high-definition iPad from Apple...

'Stop Kony' video goes viral, puts spotlight on Ugandan warlord: "A half-hour documentary about a Ugandan warlord is one of the hottest videos on the Web today, reposted several million times on various social networking sites. The San Diego-based nonprofit Invisible Children produced the film. Their goal was to make Joseph Kony, the leader of the Lord's Resistance Army, a household name."

• World powers back 'sustained dialogue' on Iran nuclear program: "International powers that agreed to resume nuclear talks with Tehran reaffirmed their support for "a diplomatic solution to the Iranian nuclear issue and readiness to restart dialogue with Iran" on Thursday."

• House set to vote on jobs bill aimed at small businesses: "The House is expected to vote Thursday on a jobs bill that would mark rare agreement between the Obama administration and House Republicans. The proposal called the JOBS Act, short for "Jump-starting Our Business Startups," comprises of six measures aimed at removing barriers to small business investment."

Wells Fargo to charge $7 fee on more checking accounts: "Wells Fargo will start charging $7 a month for checking accounts in six more states, expanding on its efforts to do away with free checking accounts altogether. Last year, the bank transitioned a group of existing customers - mainly in Western states - to the same $7-a-month accounts that it provides new customers. And now existing customers in six more states are about to be hit with the fee."

• A new, high-definition iPad from Apple: "Apple rolled out a high-definition iPad on Wednesday with a faster processor, a better camera and a display screen that promises to be dramatically sharper than the current model, the iPad 2. The new 9.7-inch display screen will feature a "retina display" of 2047 by 1536 pixels, compared with the current model's 1024 by 768 pixels."

Shame on you Piers where was the true questions asked. How is all this really helping capture KONY. The US has been trying since 2002(look it up and do your job). What about the 100 advisers currently in the region working with local armies. Does invisible Children want us to invade?? 2) How is plastering all our cities with silly posters that will need to be cleaned up afterwards help??? The US has been aware (along with many other of these loonies) for quite some time but tracking down 250 people in the wilderness is quite difficult. Need I go on or is click like on a cause the new form of helping victims?

Exactly! They have already been made totally aware......I wished the movie 'Machine Gun Preacher' would've gotten this much attention or that others that are actually over there helping would've gotten this much attention.......there are people there who are not just raising awareness but are actually doing work over there to help

I hope that the stop kony movement gets more support from CNN by maybe giving a short story for it and the background on television.

Invisble Children Inc. has $6.5 million in assets. I say hire mercenaries and keep US troops out of Africa!!!! ! !

They can't afford to because all the money goes to the three guys who run the INC... only 30% of funds goes to the cause.... and its not even recgonized as a charity by the BBB and it got 2/4 starts from the charity navigator... Seems fishy to me if they were really trying to help out others.

This is a scam. Joseph Kony is not even in Ugandan and hasn't been for years.

Please keep bringin up the issue. We need to shine even more light on KONY. People are dying and suffering everyday. If even one child is aubducted in America the news would cover every second and repeat the same knews for weeks. PLEASE KEEP PLAYING THE ISSUE. We need to stand up for these children who are unable to fight for themselves. All anyone has to do is watch the video and pledge.. You do not even need to watch the video, just pledge. how hard is that? By doing just that you are shaping history with no cost to you, just two minutes of your day.

Why is this not on the front page? Why isn't it on any of the news channels yet? E-News says they'll be doing a story about it tomorrow. I thought I would wake up and it would be blown up EVERYWHERE... This is news! Report it!! Jessica Simpson? iPad3? More election crap that doesn't mean ANYTHING until the RNC??? Why is CNN re-reporting the same OLD news over and over again??

YES! Misty you are absolutely right!!! I have been trying to say that but no one listens. I have been watching to knews all morning and heard nothing about Kony. This is huge! People across the world are getting together to fight for this and all CNN cares about is the election of the building built in two weeks.. It makes no sense to me.

Its ashamed that our goverment is busy poking around the middle east and giving billions a year in foreighn aid to countries like pakistan (a country that hates use and where BIN LADEN was hided). The goverment does not want to help because there is no oil fro then to get of deal. We the people have to keep talking aoubt this and just maybe our so called news organizaition will bring this topic up. The balls in your court Anderson Cooper!!!!!!

I don't believe the government should get too involved with this issue. I would love for Kony to die just like anyone else, but we do not need to send our troops out to any more places. My boyfriend is stationed over in the desert right now. If they want to send troops to Africa then pull the ones out of the Middle East and let them see their families and send the guys that have never been deployed out. Also, there are plenty of other issues in our own backyards we should fix before running off to help others.

i agree we dont need to get to involved over there. i think its a bit hypocritical of our US to always want to police the world, but ignor a place like that because we are to busy waging war on terrer in the middle east. The US spent billions on getting rid of Gaddafi and he didn't kill half as many people as Kony has done. Right now we are talking about US military intervention to stop Bashar al-Assad's in seria and still not even close to the abuse Kony as done.

thank god you guys agree. literally every single one of my friends is protesting this like they are actually gonna do something about it. they arent. they are gonna just spread the awareness. I too would love to see justice for Kony but like most americans, no one is really gonna do anything about it. excuse my gramatical errors and what not but im speaking as im typing rather than worrying about things like that. The us has enough problems. I would love for our country to be a savior, who wouldnt want world peace? but theres so much conflict that i dont see what we can do to justify what Kony has done. so many people have problems in the world but we cant solve them all.

OMG we should so,like, save the children in Uganda and stuff so that they can post on facebook which Kony keeps them away from them. OMG –Bimbo.
Kony is BS – a scam charity, fronting for planned US invasion of resource-rich Uganda– Truth.

First a movie about Ethiopia by 2 young guys who wanted to make movies than the truth what is going on there. Their movie informed kind people of the world .....if you only buy this Fair Trade certified coffee poor Ethiopian farmers will be saved. The truth is the coffee was confiscated from farmers and businessmen not Fair Trade certified...since 1975 until now. land was taken from from farmers. All land belongs to the officials. Read all about it.
Now these 2 guys are doing the same. Fooling kind people... if you can give us money we will help thiese poor kids.
It is about time not to show poor farmers, kids to collect money.. Nothing has changed in Ethiopia, but we are still drinking stolen coffee from the farmers.
Help them by not buying from corrupt officials or selling to them. This is the reason they continue to hurt their citizens. The money these two guys collected will be taken by the same group just like what happened with millions collected for Ethiopia. Please do not use poor people faces or fool kind people of the world to make a movie. Nobody will give money if they only know what is going on there.
