In Wednesday evening's edition of "Only in America," Piers Morgan poses this question: "Just how exhausting is it being a presidential candidate?"
Balancing the rigors of running for the nation's highest office is no doubt taxing on one's mind and body. "Little wonder then, that the candidates try and sneak some crafty shuteye whenever they get the chance," says the "Piers Morgan Tonight" host. "There's no shame in that whatsoever."
But grabbing some shut-eye behind closed doors is one thing, while doing it in front of rolling cameras is another issue entirely:
"As with former speaker Newt Gingrich who was caught cat-napping this week as he waited to speak before The American Israel Public Affairs Committee."
And though the GOP presidential candidate did stumble upon wakening, calling for "questions from a panel that sadly didn't exists," he quickly recovered, landing on his feet with an emphatic statement on the Middle East, impressing Morgan in the process:
"From semi-coma to slamming radical Islam in a matter of seconds – sensational recovery Mr. Speaker."
Only in America, reminds Morgan: "No less than I'd expect from the comeback kid of American politics."

And to think he makes fun of Ron Paul.... At least Dr Paul can stay awake long enough to finish what he has to say...;) Ron Paul 2012...!!!
Newt Gingrich running as a candidate for Republican primary for President of the U.S.A... Just another example of that good old fashionned "American Exceptionalism" the right wing keeps yammering on about.
