Hey Piers, since you believe that 7 states supporting "gay marriage" implies that the whole country should (as you stated to Kirk Cameron) then you should staunchly support law-abiding citizens carrying firearms across the entire country as well since more than 40 states currently allow it (too bad I live in the most anti-gun state in the country, Hawaii). Don't you think that 43 states NOT embracing "gay marriage" is a much greater statement against it vs. less than 10 states not trusting their law-abiding citizens to protect their families outside of their homes by carrying personal defense firearms?

Piers, please understand we are not the UK. We do not agree with your positions or worship celebrities as you do. Why do you attack people instead of interview them when they disagree with you. I long for the days of Larry King!

PRAISE GOD, for those standing up for ALL people's rights! Including Gay children with straight parents, perhaps your children, grandchildren, or great grandchildren. Many people try to change Gays, or try to make believe they don't exist. They force them to use women to LOOK GOOD, only to have their farce of a family fall apart later, with hurtful consequences to their children and spouse!

Gays are BORN Gay, created by GOD, for God's reasons. Curb the world's overpopulation, find loving parents for children abandoned by straights, we need to trust in God's plan. People still continue to discriminate, condemn, and crucify Gays, as evident by these comments.

What one sows, so shall they reap.

I watch Piers regularly, but tonight I simply couldn't stand watching your interview with Driscoll. I actually turned off the TV to write this. You were confrontational with your guest throughout the interview, and full of Put-Downs and Gotcha's to the point of bullying. I've never seen you so much on the offensive, and felt it was quite unnecessary, especially since you can usually be quite charming with your guests, particularly with most women!

Kevin, you had three years before today to complain about how Sarah Palin was treated. Why now?
If no Republicans cared about how women were treated then, do they care now? After seeing how this election is shaping up with the total disregard for women coming from Rick Santorum, Rush Limbaugh and the Catholic Church, it's perfectly clear, they will never care enough!

    Answering Piers:

Hi there Piers! I also saw the interview with Driscoll tonight. While I do believe, it would appear that the "gay marriage" question it seems posed often as a way to entrap people, set them up and make them look bad (especially Christians), I did have a chance to hear tonight why you believe the way you do. I heard you say that we need to be more tolerant, that the bible is in a sense outdated, or at least needs to be adapted. The real problem I see is that often the bible is not accurately presented. For example, there were some long ago that used it to support racist and s e x i s t views, but in reality that is not in there. Cat.holics use the scripture incorrectly to force celibacy on priests where in reality there is no restriction on ones marital status to serve God. Paul said it was better to be single, but said it was also not wrong to be married. There is also nothing in the scripture that says contraception is wrong either. The command to be fruitful and multiply was given to the first man and woman, which they did. That's why we're here. That command was fulfilled. Now children are a choice, not a requirement. Lastly, when it comes to marriage, Christians should REALLY look and see what a biblical marriage is. It is NOT a ceremony, a ring or a piece of paper provided by the state. It is simply a committed relationship that is ORDAINED by God. Adam and Eve were put together by God, this was an ordained marriage. There were no ceremonies, rings or licenses. Therefore Christians need not fear or be up in arms about gay marriage. Because if it is not ordained by God, in His eyes it's not a real marriage. What we see people doing now is for the purpose of gaining certain rights. There is no man, woman or government that can make God honor something He does not condone. So Christian marriage is safe – if you see it for what it really is, a relationship brought together by God. That's why the scripture says do not put asunder WHAT GOD HAS PUT TOGETHER. There are many Christians in marriages that God didn't ordain too! Then we wonder why our divorce rate is so high. God didn't put you together with them!!!

Morgan, Three cheers for Kirk Cameron who certainly put you in your place. Please do us a favour and go back to the Uk: I am sick of your attacking people who don`t think like you on gay marriage. Makes one wonder in whose pay you are in? Michelle Bachmann also put you in your place. You are intolerant and aggresive, a very poor subsitute for larry King, who never made his guests unconfortable or attacked them. Thank God not everybody thinks like you. God bless you.

Regardless of what your guests believe, a host should have good manners and not interrupt every sentence. If you're not going to let your guests answer questions, why ask them anything? Rude.

    Piers,
    Ask America this question:
If there was one thing that our Government could do to get our economy going and unemployment dropping, what would they do?

Because i think the one thing that would get America rolling again would be to force all mortgage companies to make all underwater mortgages to be at the value of the house/property.
Things that this would start . People feeling secure again because they would actually begin to start building equity causing savings for college, retirement etc...
Then people would start buying and selling homes more; causing a need for more new housing then causing construction to start picking up meaning more people are working translates to more spending.
Like Ronald Reagan trickle down economy it would get people working and the economy growing.

You are one of the most intelligent interviewers i have ever witnessed. The wide array of guest you bring on your show is extremely fascinating and is unlike any other host i have seen. You are tremendously talented and do a great job of asking questions that make your viewers see things from every angle. Your interview with Oprah was brilliant.

Piers, it would be good of you to review the way you interview people. In your interview with mark Driscoll he could barely complete his answer to your question before being cut off. It also appeared that the main point of The interview was for you to get your point across that pastors should make the bible more progressive so that they mirror your view of "gay rights" rather than letting the hearer decide what they think of the guests response. I would think that a good interviewer would draw out a guests passion and successes without having to interject their own. It is an irony that the most intolerant people today are often the espousers of "tolerance"! Perhaps we should redefine intolerant as "a person who cannot tolerate the intolerant" or more simply..."anyone who disagrees with the tolerant". I recommend that you sit at the feet of Charlie Rose for direction on how to ask sincere questions and listen thoughtfully to the response of the
guest. I look forward to seeing you improve in these areas or I shall no longer tolerate your show.

Piers, I am a British citizen and used to watch your show when I lived in the US, I now live in Vietnam and listen to your show via podcast at the gym. Its a good job I was on the treadmill whilst listening to Michele Bachmann and not throwing weights around as it really made me MAD. You really let her get away with far too much, she is insidious and disingenuous and managed to successfully not only dodge your questions but take your show as her platform. The right wing republicans need a little less Piers a little more Hardtalk ....

Piers, I really enjoyed tonight's interview with Montel Williams. He was a powerhouse of information and it was a good move to allow for a longer interview with him. I loved the whole thing! Thank you and hope you have him on again really soon.

Once again, it's convenient how Montel pointed out that Romney and Santorum did not serve in the military, but no mention was made of President Obama's military service. And Piers conveniently neglected to point it out either. Yet, CNN still tries to tout objective journalism and fair treatment of all. As for Limbaugh versus Maher. Maher ridicules Jesus Christ and Christianity on a regular basis, and is never challenged by Christian elected officials or the news media – an offense that is supremely greater than Limbaugh's stupid remark which never the less is still offensive.

    Dear Mr. Piers,
Are you in love with Madonna? Why do you constantly make reference to her? She must have snubbed you good. It's quite disgraceful to behave the way you do. I remember when you were on the celebrity apprentice and your behavior wasn't much better. Be a journalist and a professional, for a change. If you want to sleep with Madonna then perhaps you should ask her the right way. The way you behave now reminds me of my middle school boy ways!

Piers, I thought you were a great replacement for the "King" when you first came aboard but since have changed my mind. You have been way too opinionated and cutting off guests especially when you don't agree with their views which is not good as it makes you look stupid and unprofessional. When you do that your whole demeanor changes and you can see it in your gestures, eyes, and a bit of sarcasm comes over you as you can be a bit snobbish.. It is not becoming in the least. When you have an A-list guest you are at your most charming as to not offend them. Not that I expect you to be another Larry but Larry asked the questions and the guests answered and Larry accepted their answer and left it to the listeners to make their own decision (without his opinion). I'm finding it hard to watch now but so far I haven't missed very many of your shows nor did I miss many of Larry's. You are beginning to get on my bad side.

Piers, I agree with a lot of twhat has been said above regarding the way you conducted the interview with Mark Driscoll. You never gave him the chance to fully explain. You kept cutting him off and bombarding him with questions. It just made the show very hard to watch. Quite embarrasing actually, even the way you interpreted the book Mark wrote, you left the audience with your opinion vs what Mark actually was trying to convey to his readers in the book. I think that show was a waste of time.

Piers I got hooked on your show when I saw your interview with Condoleeza Rice. However, lately you have politicized your show way too much.
