Tiger Woods is back in the news this week in a big way – thanks to success on the golf course, but also due to a new book out today. Hank Haney is Woods' former coach, and today, his book "The Big Miss: My Years Coaching Tiger Woods" will bring to light some parts of the Woods story Woods would rather not discuss.
Tonight, Haney talks to Piers Morgan in a live, prime time exclusive interview at 9pmET.
This comes less than 48 hours after Woods got his first PGA Tour win since 2009, besting the field in the Arnold Palmer Invitational on Sunday.
But now the story shifts to Haney. What's in the book? Here's a taste:
"Tiger was seriously considering becoming a Navy SEAL," read an excerpt from Haney's forthcoming book on the website of Golf Digest. One of the magazine's journalists helped write the book.
"I didn't know how he'd go about it, but when he talked about it, it was clear he had a plan," Haney said.
Woods' agent dismissed that passage as "armchair psychology" – and recently called the book "self-serving." But the revelations that Haney writes about will surely stir up strong feelings from Woods fans and detractors alike – and tonight, Piers Morgan asks about all of it.

I don't know why this is considered as negative or absurd. Tiger is an athlete after all, and he has the money to get himself trained. I say he has better chance than others to become a SEAL if this is what he wanted.

If trying to become a SEAL is the most sensational thing about Haney's book, I don't know if anyone will buy it. Tiger's dad was in the Army so him wanting to become a Navy SEAL and serve his country is admirable. I know some football stars have done it so why such a big deal if he wanted to do it.
His father was US ARMY Special Forces in Vietnam, with Tigers dedication and pedigre he certainly could have achieved that goal!
Funny how success has its enemies and failure has neither enemies nor friends. Woods made a serious mistake, and he paid a cost that for many of us would be the proverbial last straw. However, when one views comments like those from this guy "michael" who writes Tiger cannot spell, one has to say what an idiot. Obviously, Tiger can spell, read and write. The question becomes michael, "Can you write a grammatically correct sentence?" Wait. Based on what I read, the answer is "No."

I am not by any means here to condone the shameful acts of tiger what he did to his wife but let be mindful the fact this guy has some serious talent in the game golf. Had it not been for his success in the golf course this clown Hank would have been a simple stat. He is clearly cashing in by exploiting the Tiger Woods brand!!

You know, thinking that SNL was funny back in the day but not anyomre seems to be a sign of getting older. I've noticed so many people that think SNL was funnier back then. Of course, back then might be the 70s 80s, 90s, etc., but it seems to usually coincide with when the person was college age. Then as they approach 30, SNL is not as funny. Strange phenomenon.
ROFL ! ! ! ! what he was serious ? ROFL , Thats a slap in any SEALs face to think Tiger has what it takes to be a SEAL. Theres no time outs or do overs in this line of work. When crap started hitting the fan , a SEALs killer instinct takes over. Tiger would freeze up and get splattered all over a beach somewhere. You don't try out anyway. Really like watching your show from here in Montréal. Now, do not take this personnally as I have been hearing it for years in the Americam media, but you know the what is most overuse word in the American language, "heroes" !
Just watch the piece on the crazy pilot restrained by passengers. Com'on, they are not heroes, I actually agree with one of the two interviewee, the co pilot....not a heroe but real quick on his feet and should be command for a job well done.
Please use the word heroe more appropriately, open a dictionnary if you need and PLEASE, spread the word...I am just sick to my stomack everytime I hear it....frankly almost every day watching US news.

Piers just had the worst interview I have ever seen with the politician who wrote the book on Washington. Why did Piersinvite him if he did not want to give him the opportunity to express his opinion. In addition Piers did not have a clueabout what the man was talking about and he was completely unable to Ask proper followup questions
Piers the problem with this Hank – supposedly Tiger's Coach/Teacher is that his behavior is breaking client confidentiality and is unsportsmanlike, as well as unprofessional. With that said if he was really a friend – he should not of been his teacher and coach -. Most professional's know, not to mix business with pleasure. And one last note- he's not much of a friend, coach or teacher if after 6 years he didn't catch on to Tiger's behavior........because Tiger was a Tiger! A real Coach/Teacher would of intervened and tried to get help.A real professional would of recognized changes in patterns and behaviors and sought help.
You don't just "become(ing) a Navy SEAL". He might be intelligent and athletic, but that is only a piece of serving the US Navy. His moral indescretions would actually be punishable by the UCMJ, and they would destroy other people's opinions of his honor and trust-worthiness. If you're not loyal in one vow, why would you be loyal in another? He's not someone I would want on my team. Just saying.

I reckon some of you are a small too ctriical on Miller. He's a swing nerd', all he does is study the golf swing and I reckon he has claim. The man in his prime was a premier ball striker that was so excellent he could hit distances to the half yard. Even if you may be ignorant to his lexicon pay the man the respect he deserves, there is a wits why he is a US Open champion and we're here arm preside over tear up backing.

Tiger Woods is still the best golfer alive today. 73 PGA wins, 14 majors the next closest guy is Phil with 40 PGA and 4 majors and Phil has been playing 10 years longer....So u can talk all the BS u want he is the best by far. As to the Seal issue, why not. This guy is a Stanford grad, in great shape and intelligent. Probably got a head up on a lot of active seals who started out lowly privates. I am a 22 year retired Army vet and all you need is the guts to do it. Woods will beat Arnolds numbers and they will be discounted. They will be discounted because he is Black. White America likes their hero's just that white.......Ask most whites who is the all time homerun king and you will get Babe Ruth not Hank Arron......As much as things change they still stay the same......Go Tiger and justice to Trayvon.

Hank Haney was concerned about his own welbeing (income) when he imagined Tiger being a Navy SEAL. He is old enough to be Tiger's father and yet he is taking cheap potshots at him. As the scripture says "THIS TOO SHALL PASS". He was a nobody before becoming Tiger's coach and will be a nobody when "THIS PASSES".

You have nailed the root cause of the yips which tmrlbeing is occurring either with the left or the right hand; and the right hand push is mostly the one with yips which I agree. To putt with a conventional grip is just fine to adopt, but, the hand with the yips must NOT do the alinement follow-through stroke. The hand with no yips must do the alinement follow-through and the hand with yips will only have to assist in adding speed. Nice, we have same findings.
tell ya the truth, i dont care..... i like watching him play, but for me the rest of his life is his. i dont wish to share or know about it. it is meaningless poop in my life.... i guess if he was my friend or something, nope, not even then. heck i dont know that much about my on friends or care to remember it.

Yes...Tiger screwed up his marriage. He is also rude to reporters and to many fans who line up for autographs. He wasn't built like Arnold Palmer (who was far from a saint in his day but luckily didnt have cell phones) to be the peoples champion. Tiger was built to win golf tournaments! Nothing more, nothing less. His personal life is HIS! Having never met the man I am only in a posistion to judge his golf game. As for Haney...way to ride those coatails!! You being the swing coach for the #1 player in the world brought you fame and fortune. I'm just sorry "The Haney Project" (which you never would have had if you had never worked with Tiger) was not enough to make you happy. Hopefully this book will end your beef with Tiger.
As far as I'm concerned, Hank Haney is just as bad as Tiger. He's betraying Tiger's trust just like Tiger betrayed his wife's trust. He's a coward for not just confronting Tiger and a snitch for writing about things Tiger considered private, and I hope all of his clients leave him and his show is cancelled.

the best way to learn a golf swing is to go out and hit golf balls. practice makes perceft. you have to find whats best for you and dont rely to heavy on gimmicks. some of them sorta work but for people who know how to play golf already
