Only in America: Rotten Easter egg hunts

On Monday's edition of "Piers Morgan Tonight," Piers Morgan shared his views over the recent cancellation of the Old Colorado City Easter Egg Hunt at Colorado Springs, Colorado's Bancroft Park. Organizers were forced to cancel this years event due to the bad behavior and cheating antics of the parents.

"Fully grown human beings jumped a rope specifically designed to prevent adult involvement and swarmed the hunt area to grab eggs for their children so they could win."

An incredulous Piers tried to rationalize the parents "unedifying" actions by considering his own competitive nature and the fact that he himself is the father of four children, relating that he "fully understands that desire for one's precious little offspring to succeed in life."

However, the acquisition of plastic, pastel colored eggs by means of aggressive parental involvement leaves one to believe that there is something more rotten at play. Piers' suspicion, the growing phenomenon of the "helicopter parent."

"The type that hovers over their children, poking their bossy noses into every aspect of their lives, and doing whatever it takes, ethical or otherwise, to prevent failure, the kind that lies, bribes and bullies to get them into better schools or sports clubs, or sneakily does their homework for them."

Whatever the reason for this calamity it certainly adds new meaning to the phrase "egging on your children."

It is too bad that the parents ruined the fun for the kids; however Old Colorado City performed the correct action by canceling the event. You would think that parents would understand the relationship between cause and effect however they appear not to and so the negative consequences. Maybe next time they will show some restraint.

When I went for a picnic in elementary school, treasure hunt was the best activity because we had the chances to get presents which hidden spread over the place.
Once treasure hunt had begun, children were going around to get them. If we were lucky, we managed to find only one thing. However, some parents started to find instead of children. (Of course, it was not event for adults). They tended to sweet all whenever they find.
This post remind me of my past happening.

This subject touches on the bully subject that Andersen Cooper deals with, over protective parents who fail to teach their children cause and effect are bad but then always letting children find their level also leads to allowing bullying. I could never find any easter eggs at all in easter egg hunts, there is a place for adults at easter egg hunts to make sure the little ones get a few eggs and the useless cases get some too, to make sure the self esteem of the idiot part of the group does not get too low.
Books that study bullying say that those who are the victims of bullies, those who always loose out, get worse at school work while bullying goes on and worse at relating to others in adult life, so that finding out about cause and effect, as in if I let my self get bullied it will be uncomfortable, is damaging, reduces their abilities to do well and to relate well, while bullies become more wicked everyday when there is not adult to cheque them. Bullies accordign to studies often come from bully families, they have been taught to bully and are encouraged to do so at home, told not to let people get the better of them or criticise them, not to let others tell them, adding measure to the games of children is good for both those who take all and for those who are habitual failures.
I do know parents who are not trying to keep an even keel in games but trying to make sure their children never suffer, a friend of mine whose son was running against another four year old asked the other four year old to give her son a head start, demanded rather, and it was their first race, it was not as if her son had just lost ten races and she was asking for the other child to let her son win just one race to ameliiorate her sons humiliation and it was not as if there was any big apparent difference between the two lads, we were astounded at such out out favoratism.
Evil words do hurt people, you know how many harrassed children comite suicide every year, you are in close contact with Andersen Cooper, truth to tell i thought you looked as if you had been bullied as a child when i first observed your facil expressions, your face still makes me believe that. If i am right, then evil words leave a mark you can see decades later.
Some people are very ignorant, they dont know that hallowed means holy and een means evening, all hallows ene is, all holy evening, an absolutely christan evening, otherwise called all souls, the day before all saints if i remember right. I heard last year that one religious group were even out to change the name of halloween to, "jesusween", as in lets wean ourselves of Jesus Ii suppose. They still want to turn all feasts into christian feasts, they have not changed since medieval times they have to have their hands in all pies. rose macaskie madrid.

Mark Gallion from the STL Gamers did a very good job on stats that matter:There are 4 ways to have iqlauty at bats. 1 Hit the ball hard, regardless of outcome. All line drives are hard hits. Hard hits also include hard hit groundballs and flyballs that force outfielders to retreat on the ball.2 Draw a walk3 Execute sacrifice, advance the runner to 3rd, get a run home with less that 2 outs, hit & runs, squeeze, etc..4 Any at bat that consumes 6 or more pitches is a iqlauty at bat regardless of outcome.A iqlauty at bat is worth between .4 and .5 runs. Using the Pythagoreom Expectation, if you want to increase your winning percentage from 50% to 67%, you need to score 1 more run per game. This means your team needs to produce just 2-3 more iqlauty at bats per game. Now, that is something that players can focus on and control IF they understand what a iqlauty at bat is.
