Clips From Last Night: Lisa Cohen on the Etan Patz case; Ali Wentworth on her vagina in politics and Piers makes Dara Torres blush

On Thursday evening, author, journalist and television news producer Lisa Cohen joined "Piers Morgan Tonight," offering her unique insight into the latest news in the Etan Patz case.

Nearly 33 years to the day since the 6-year-old boy went missing, yesterday 51-year-old Pedro Hernandez was arrested in Patz's death. The former Manhattan store clerk lived in the family's neighborhood when the boy went missing. Having literally written the book on the Patz case, Cohen called the latest development "extraordinary," noting that she had "never heard of this man before today."

Also on Thursday, comedienne, actress and author Ali Wentworth visited Morgan for an in-studio face to face interview. The host of Yahoo.com's "The Daily Shot," Wentworth's three to five minute web series is geared towards busy moms who need a quick "shot" of news in a hurry.

Discussing the current state of America politics, Wentworth wasn't above taking things below the belt:

"I would like my vagina to be taken off the table," she explained. "I have a hard time with reproduction rights being in the political arena. I do think that when it gets into the Planned Parenthood, all that kind of debate, I really have a hard time with the kind of men debating what's OK and what's not."

Thursday also featured a visit from 5-time Olympian Dara Torres, as she readies for a swim across the pond, and the London games. Noted for her unparalleled longevity, and sculpted six-pack, Piers asked his guest to choose between "the best sex of your life all over again right now or Olympic gold in London." Clearly embarrassed by such a scenario, a rosy-cheeked Torres responded, "God, you're killing me with that question" but quickly regained her composure and answered, "the gold medal."

"No, you know, the thing is is that I earned this myself," said Torres about the Olympic gold. "So this is something that I've worked my whole entire life for. So I think that's what makes it so rewarding."

Watch the clips, and listen to the interviews, as Thursday's show featured the unique combination of guests and subject matter that has come to define "Piers Morgan Tonight."

    Dear Mr Piers Morgan,

Today I watched your show and I was so dissapointed and disgusted with your character and moral, that you are bring in your show crook people like Martha Stewart to portraying the crooks in the public life. I wish if you had been brought some honest, intelligent and good person in your show. A journalist like you definitely will make sure that CNN channel will go in garbage which this deserves. I still appreciate if you bring some good people with moral and character on your show. I will also appreciate if you respond to my letter and I am ready to take up with you anytime, anywhere about our generalism. Thank you very much for taking time to read my comments.

I did not see the show in question, but am taken aback at the simple, effective elegance and civility demonstrated by the writer.
I for one would be horrified if CNN took the approach he suggests, which is that morality (his version, i assume) is a universal. It is a very personal arrangement of values, and though it may look different to others, be no less moral. Unless he wants to produce a moral channel, an interesting proposition, and possible via local public t.v. studios.
Boy do i digress. I would be happy to disagree with this gentleman, and he reminded me that agreement is only one component of great exchanges.
    Thanks everybody.
