Starting this evening, "Piers Morgan Tonight" rolls out another edition of "Guest Host Week," opening up the event with two of the more dynamic personalities in television's modern era.
Together combining for eight decades of industry chops, tonight Regis Philbin will be joined by David Letterman, for a rare and exclusive hour of comedy and commentary.
With Philbin pulling up the host chair in Piers Morgan's absence, Letterman serves as his guest, as the two longtime friends touch upon a diverse collection of topics, including some of Letterman's favorite interview subjects:
"Have you had a favorite guest over the years besides me?" Philbin asks the "Late Show with David Letterman" host.
"We have several - you, Brian Williams, Tom Brokaw, Bill Murray, Tom Hanks, people who really come and do a great job for us," answers the seven-time Emmy Award winner. "I'm forgetting somebody that was just on that was fantastic. But it's a - it's like a handful of people who are really, really strong."
Referencing the "NBC Nightly News" anchor, Philbin suggests his guest may have some job security concerns:
"You know that Brian Williams wants your job?"
Letterman seems shockingly unthreatened:
"Brian Williams can have my job."
Watch the clip, listen to the interview, then tune in tonight at 9 p.m. as two of the most-decorated hosts in the history of modern television talk showbiz and cigars, family and friendship.

Regis is great. He is courteous and brings out he best in is guest. I even enjoyed a side of David Letterman that I had not seen before. Have an American exploring American culture.
Regis philben interviewing david letterman? What a waste of time!!!!
May be the worst interview ever broadcast.
Well, from the "other" two comments, one glass is half full and the other is half empty.
I was entertained and thought the conversation was interesting.
I don't watch Piers Morgan but tuned in to see Regis. And I'm not a big follower of Letterman. But wow the love these two giants have toward each other is heartwarming to see. They are both American icons. Listening to them review the past and relive it was very, very interesting. That chemistry is golden – like Lucy and Ethel! I loved it.
