READ about Piers Morgan's long career in journalism here.
Coming up tonight, Piers Morgan welcomes author and journalist David Maraniss for an honest and revealing discussion on Barack Obama, in particular, various mythologies surrounding America's current commander-in-chief.
Author of the new book, "Barack Obama: The Story," Maraniss addresses discrepancies between his own research, and what the president himself portrays:
"The girlfriend that he writes about in his memoir, in New York City, he sort of defines her through the lens of race, as a White woman, who didn't understand the anger of Black people," says the guest. "The real girlfriend, who is Genevieve Cook, had a completely different perspective on race."
In addition to addressing contracting perspectives created by Obama, Maraniss also comes to the president's defense, disputing claims by his detractors:
"The other mythology of the right-wing birthers is equally preposterous," suggests the Pulitzer Prize winner. "The fact that he was born in Honolulu on August 4th 1961 is indisputable by the facts that any historian would look at."
Watch the clip, and listen to the interview, then tune in this evening at 9 p.m. as Maraniss shares insight and information obtained in hundreds of interviews, including some conducted in the Oval Office.

Piers you are not a historian. Listen to Davis Maraniss' biography and stop pushing your ideas and agenda against a book that has been researched. Your job is to be uncover the truth and not defend Obama. You guys fail to vet Obama. Much was made of Clinton's dope-smoking but when blacks do it it becomes acceptable. Just admit, Obama is the master of embellishment!
I agree Piers is biased towards Obama, but that does not warrant your racism. Most people experiment with drugs, it has nothing to do with race. President Obama had the courage to tell the truth about his experimentation, and he is not just black, he is both black and white and was raised by a white mother and white grandparents. He was not influenced by the African American Culture while growing up. We are in this together, we are all of mixed race.
What racism? There wasn't anything racist in Rhoda's post. It is not racist to say that the mainstream media reports differently on certain people. If anything, Rhoda is pointing out that the mainstream media is racist.
I watched the interview, but I was disappointed that Piers didn't ask Mr. Maraniss the one question many would like to know: Is Barrack Obama a racist? Mr. Obama wrote in his book Dreams From My Father that he denied and distrusted his own mother because of her race and that he was so filled with hatred of whites that he became a 'coil of rage' against white people. Sounds to me like the voice of a racist.
Normally I do not learn article on blogs, however I would like to say that this write-up very forced me to try and do so! Your writing style has been amazed me. Thank you, very nice article. louboutins
