On this fourth of July, Piers Morgan brings out his own version of the full-court press, welcoming Basketball Hall of Famer Mike Krzyzewski for an honest and revealing sit down interview.
The head coach of both the Duke University men's team and the United States men's national team, "Coach K" heads to London this summer seeking to become just the second-ever American hoops coach to capture back-to-back gold medals. However, as the owner of nearly 1,000 career collegiate victories, he'll be encouraging his players to be focused only on the task at hand:
"I'm going to take a group, and we're going to try to be one, and we're going to try to win the London Olympics, OK? Why would they all be concerned about my second gold medal?" he asks the host. "I don't want - they shouldn't play for that. They should play for their gold medal right now. And I think part of being a coach is being on the page of the competitor you have the privilege of coaching, not them being on your page as far as accomplishment."
Despite a roster that features the world's most-gifted players – including the likes of LeBron James, Kobe Bryant, and Kevin Durant – the four-time National Champion recognizes that his squad will have little room for error:
"It's not the NBA, where you're going to have a second chance. In other words, if you lose, that's it. They're all seventh games in a series, like in the NBA, it's the final game."
Watch the clip and listen to the interview, as "Coach K" discusses the excitement and expectations which come with striving towards Olympic stardom.
