Coming up this evening at 9 p.m., Robert Blake sits down with Piers Morgan for an exclusive, in-depth, and at times, unsettling interview. The actor and controversial personality talks about his new book, his childhood as an actor and the cops that damaged him.
During the interview, Blake set aside a moment to send a message to the law enforcement officials who arrested and charged him in connection with the murder of his wife, Bonny Lee Bakley. "I was supposed to die in that cell, wasn't I, you bastards," said Blake to "those rotten, bastard cops that ripped my guts out and left me beside the road to die."
"I didn't die and you didn't get your book deal, you mothers," shouted Blake. "I wrote a book about you! So you have to go out and rip some other celebrity until he's dead, then you can write a book about him!"

I watched the entire interview. Blake is a very interesting guy but Piers was even more interesting than Blake. He deserve a round of a plause. The entire interview Blake was defensive and upset but not for a second did Piers raise his voice or showed any sign that he was getting upset. He is a true professional and he knows how to conduct an interview with the best and the worst of all. Blake was one of the worst guys at an interview.......Good job Piers!!!
Masterful interview of a fascinating, broken human being. Would've been so easy to descend into a maudlin pity party, but Piers maintained journalistic focus and neutrality amid a barrage of personal attacks. Great job, Piers.
Pierce Morgan got served by Robert Blake. He's an actor. He wants to do a beautiful movie before he dies. End of story. As for all the theatrics he made Pierce look like a fool. He knew Pierce's main focus was going to be about the sensational murder, because no one is interested in the story of his life at two years of age and his parents hating him. Come on. Pierce also knows that the threshold in civil court is not the same as in criminal court or maybe he hadn't done the research. Funny stuff!
I completely agree with your comment. I found the Morgan interview and Robert Blake to be facinating. I think Blake is a very sad character, but he made some good points. He came right back at Piers Morgan, when Morgan does what he does best....beat a dead horse and prIovoke people. And Blake refused to bite. Blake had an agreement with Morgan, prior to the interview, that he would discuss his book and Morgan ambushed him Bonnie questions. Morgan did the same thing to Gloria Allred. She didn't bite either.
I admire his frankness and bluntness. He was clearly not wanting to go off script, that is off the original script Piers Morgan led him in with. He tried to keep Morgan from talking about the case and talking instead about his Hollywood career and the book he wrote. He revealed a defensive sensitive side. I am glad Piers Morgan talked one on one with him. Definitely Blake is still recovering!
Years ago my wife and I had drinks with Bobby ... we were watching ( Sinatra's guitarist ) perform ... some where in Sherman Oaks , CA ... he was very likeable , very knowledgable about Frank Sinatra , easy going , we had a great time .. he kept asking me to come with him to nicotine anonymous so we both could try and quit cigarettes ..this was pre Bonnie ... had a great time .. I like Bobby Blake .. great actor .. hope he makes another movie ..
I agree, Piers did a masterful job interviewing Robert Blake. My heart bleeds for Robert Blake. I cannot imagine being unloved by parents who didn't want you. What a horrific burden to carry your whole life. I hope Mr. Blake gets to make that beautiful movie. As for the Bonnie situation – I don't believe he had anything to do with her demise. Look at the life she led. Someone was out to get pay back.
With respect to all the positive feedbacks about Piers Morgan, I think he was cornered and unable to treat him like a guest at his show. He is not Judge Judy. Mr. Blake had a difficult life but he has managed to accomplish high goals and has my respect.

I felt that as an interviewer, Piers was biased and pushed his own agenda. I felt he offended Robert early in the interview by choosing to focus on his legal issues rather than his prolific career. I gained from Robert's comments that he had trusted someone in Piers' entourage that he would be discussing his career rather than facing a barrage of questions about the legal issues that have haunted him in his later years. Not being a fan of Barretta or having read his book, I found Piers to be insensitive to his interviewee's emotional state and seemingly biased.

Piers Morgan should be the last one to press someone for answers or accuse one of being dishonest or defensive. He is yet to answer fully and truthfully the issues surrounding the phone hacking scandals. Those who believe that this interview was "GOOD" must also think JERRY SPRINGER is a GOD. CNN has stooped to a new Low as ratings plummet and opt for Cheap tabloid-style journalism over substantive and unbiased interview/reporting.
