Coming up this evening at 9 p.m., Piers Morgan broadcasts out of his native England, as the program continues it's coverage from the home of the 2012 Summer Olympic Games.
One day prior to the Opening Ceremony, "Piers Morgan Tonight" welcomes a man often credited with saving the olympics more than a decade ago, Mitt Romney.
Joining the host with his wife Ann by his side, the Republican Party's presumptive nominee for the 2012 election addresses those that view his business achievements as a negative for his campaign:
“There are people who are trying to attack success and are trying to attack our success; that’s not going to be successful," says the former Massachusetts governor. "When you attack success you have less of it, and that’s what we’ve seen in our economy over the last few years. Dividing America based on who has money and who hasn’t – who is successful and who is less successful. That is not the American way."
With the election roughly three month away, the 65-year-old insists that his accomplishments and professional victories will ultimately benefit him in his push to unseat Barack Obama:
"We are an achievement, celebrating, oriented nation. That’s what has lifted us, it will continue to do, and the attacks that come by people who are trying to knock down my business career or my Olympic experience, or our success – those attacks are not going to be successful," he tells Morgan. "People want more success, they don’t want less success."

Thank you Mr Mitt Romney, as a former UK subject and now a permanent resident in the United States of 40 yrs I have often wondered what it meant when I heard some one say the UGLY AMERICAN,well now I know.

Romney's approval rating as a Massachusetts governor was 39% and kept on decreasing until he finally left the office. Romney is only about Romney and his good old boys club, this is a fact. Horrible job Mr.Morgan. No one is saying to MItt Romney that they despise the fact that he was successful. Mr.Morgan basically took a phony argument/point and served it to MItt Romney on a platter.There are lots of successful and rich people who are in public office or have contested in the past! I have never heard the President make an argument against being rich or successful in America.It has always been about those who are at the top of the chain being able to afford to do just a bit more for the common good.i don't think the President can do no wrong – but, please stop attributing sentiments to him that he has not supported. I agree with all the above. Pierce Morgan is sucking up to Romney. It is shameful. I love it how he holds his wives hand. I also love how they think we should feel sorry for them because they worked for the Olympics for 3 years with no pay. No Pay...Ha Ha I guess some people need to do their home work. He took a leave of absence from Bain to work the olympics and Bain still paid him $100,000 a year. Chump chain for Mitt and his wife Ann who wore a $900 blouse on her last interview. Pierce I am a bit disappointed by the way you are carrying on with this interview. You really are ass kissing, not to compare but Larry King wouldn't have done this interview with Mitt Romney this way. No one is despising Mitt for his success, actually he is being applauded for it, the question is the lies that no one seem to wanna ask him about. The full disclosure of his tax records, secret deals to ship jobs outside of the USA, hostile takeovers for profit in the guise of creating jobs etc. Pierce be a journalist don't give opinions when you are interviewing, it makes you look bad. It's almost sad watching you do this on national TV, really.
I kept looking at Ann Romney and thought she looked too rich! I'm not afraid of the rich, she just seemed to me the kind of person you'd get in an elevator with and she'd be uncomfortable with the "little people" of the world. I had a hard time watching her - who dressed her. Not a put down but an observation.

Piers, I always like you because you would not accept non-answers. Even worse, the parts of your Mitt Love Fest served up soft balls to him and his wife. What gives? Very disappointing. Your loaded questions relating to Bain Capital read like they were fed to you by the RNC.

Forgot to ask. Piers, how much time did Mrs. Mitt spend talking vs. Mr. Mitt. It was kinda weird watching him intently focusing on her with a fixed smile anytime she was talking. Not normal. Every husband would occasionally look away, at you, for example. This faked "I am such a loving husband" routine seemed to jump out of the screen. Mitt Romney and his wife were interviewed on the grounds of the Olympic Games and it deserved some decorum , it was held in a foreign country and certainly not the time nor place to hammer him with hard hitting political questions , plenty of time for that later and at home.
Can't these rabid leftist just see it for what it was , a pleasant interview .
Sheeesh....these "foaming at the mouth" conservatives really appear stupid attacking Romney on Baines and his wealth. Romney is totally justified in both areas. Buying and selling unsuccessful companies was a tricky business at best. BUT the unforgiveable thrust by Romney is attacking Obamacare without a counter plan to replace what everybody knows ia a broken health system. Being able to buy insurance across a State line is not a fixer but a no-brainer. This obvious fault is gonna sink Romney's boat.
II think Gov. Romney has missed the point of what he himself has said. When he torn down business and exported those jobs overseas and than turn around and lied about that fact. I will say with ever american we praise success. I truly think he truly feel in his heart that he has no heart. Like he said in his earlier debate he don't care about the poor there government programs to take care of them. We Mr. Romney if your elected as president you will be governing those programs.. but again you simply don't care.
I'm an independent journalist with no ties to either side, I have to admit and agree with the others on here that this interview was pathetic. The only thing missing was the small prints on the bottom stating "This ad was paid for by the Republican National Committee". Perhaps Mr Morgan is a better fit for Americas Got Talent than CNN.

Mitt Romney engineered a federal bailout of Bain by convincing the Federal Deposit Insurance Corp. to forgive roughly $10 million of the company’s debts, according to sources close to the deal and federal records obtained by The Boston Globe.
That's not the only bailout in Romney's past, however. When a steel mill backed by Bain collapsed, not only was the entire workforce out of a job, but the federal government was on the hook to the tune of $44 million to bail out the mill's pension plan. Bain, however, made nearly $10 million on the deal, profiting handsomely from failure.

I found the Piers Morgan/Mit Romney interview repulsive. There were so many questions to be asked of Mr. Romney. How about the $77,000.00 tax business benefit he received for a dressage horse? I wasn't expecting an indepth interview nor was I expecting the interview to be turned into a smoozefest for Mit Romney . Piers did everything short of pleasuring Mit Romney on camera!

Romney, if you were successful in business, you no doubt will be successful as our president. There are true parallels to be drawn from your hard work employing other people and growing a private company, and putting Americans back to work. Our current president has no idea what hard work really is.
I'm excited to elect a governor to be president (the qualities it takes to be a governor are much similar to those required to be a president, much more than 2 years in the U.S. Senate, ha).

Linda, the Tea Party people will not bohter your boys. In fact, they will probably protect them. Nonetheless, too many regard politics as a blood sport. Look at what that Occupy crowd is doing. Consider that for some people enormous power and wealth is at stake and that many union workers are quite well paid. Then you will begin to perceive why demonstrations of any kind are adult activities. When people fear a loss of income or the collapse of their greedy plans, too many will do anything.
