Mitt Romney on being criticized for his accomplishments: "When you attack success you have less...that is not the American way"

Coming up this evening at 9 p.m., Piers Morgan broadcasts out of his native England, as the program continues it's coverage from the home of the 2012 Summer Olympic Games.

Alongside the Opening Ceremony, "Piers Morgan Tonight" welcomes a man often credited with saving the olympics more than a decade ago, Mitt Romney.

Joining the host with his wife Ann by his side, the Republican Party's presumptive nominee for the 2012 election addresses those that view his business achievements as a negative for his campaign:

“There are people who are trying to attack success and are trying to attack our success; that’s not going to be successful," says the former Massachusetts governor. "When you attack success you have less of it, and that’s what we’ve seen in our economy over the last few years. Dividing America based on who has money and who hasn’t – who is successful and who is less successful. That is not the American way."

With the election roughly three month away, the 65-year-old insists that his accomplishments and professional victories will ultimately benefit him in his push to unseat Barack Obama:

"We are an achievement, celebrating, oriented nation. That’s what has lifted us, it will continue to do, and the attacks that come by people who are trying to knock down my business career or my Olympic experience, or our success – those attacks are not going to be successful," he tells Morgan. "People want more success, they don’t want less success."

Watch the clip, and listen to the interview, then tune in tonight at 9 p.m. as Morgan sits down with the couple who may be the next residents of 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue.

Exactly... Republicans aren't interested in being fair, the entire object of the game is to lie to win, and lie to cover the last lie. They don't mind deceit, they thrive on deceit. Whatever makes a buck and keeps a buck even if that means breaking the law. It's not that they even trust Romney ... because they don't, they know he is a blatant liar, that he's the last one that they could trust, but they think that he offers them more loopholes, tax evasion and the opportunity to screw the middle class to keep them in power. It's all a control factor. This is why they HATE what Obama said... "You didn't build that business all by yourself." They reject that and despise it, yet even they know that without their own community patronizing their business – indeed their business would not flourish. But as ate up as the republicans are, and as hell bent on greed that any human being can get... they will lie, cheat, steal and call themselves the Christians/Godly ones while marching against abortion. Sketchy/Deceit – nature of their existence and they like it that way.

Wow what a joke. Romney's whole message was, with education and hard work, success can be achieved. If you can't understand that then maybe you better get used to flipping burgers at Mcdonalds. Some people seem to be losing their minds nowdays.

We work our butts off but very little is gong to the poor. That is the message they want you to believe. Even in a down economy, with people going hungry, have you seen any suffering among the elite of this country? You work hard – buy products that are made in China for $1 per hour – shipped here and resold at immense profit and those profits go to the execs in the form of wages and bonus'. We have the lowest taxes of any 1st world country.

Really? Fair? Is it fair for a business owner who is risking sometimes their house and everything to start a business and CREATE JOBS for people that don't have the guts to take the risk, that they pay 75K in taxes at a much higher rate by the way than others. They also work about 90 hour weeks and then their taxes actually sometimes cripple the business growth therefore reducing the amount of jobs that could have been created. And then you have the other side. You have the people that pay about 1K in taxes a year due to a lower income which is fine they have a 10% bracket compared to the 45% for the business owner. And then they get tax credits etc. So they actually get a refund in tax OF MORE THAN THEY PAID! hMMM. So the business owner pays 75K in taxes and people who make less income actually make money off taxes. So what have you accomplished here. Business owner may as well shut down the company, because of whiners that don't want to work as hard thing they should have all of their money. Well guess what, you continue to deincentive people that create jobs, then what are the people that don't working going to do? The business won't be around to supplement them. Great. Right. ILL MAKE IT SIMPLE FOR YOU – A COUNTRY WILL DIE ECONOMICALLY WHEN YOU ARE PUNISHED FOR WORKING HARD FOR SUCCESS BECUASE GUESS WHAT YOU GET A WHOLE BUNCH OF PEOPLE WHO ARE FREELOADERS WHO DON'T WANT TO WORK BECAUSE THEY EXPECT THE GOVERMENT TO TAKE CARE OF THEM. ARE YOU SERIOUS. iT IS THE GOVERMENTS JOB TO TAKE CARE OF PEOPLE, IT IS PEOPLES JOB TO TAKE CARE OF THEM SELVES AND STEP UP AND TAKE OWNERSHIP AND STOP BLAMING OTHER PEOPLE FOR THEIR SUCCESS. THE WEALTHY. WHAT KIND OF STATEMENT IS THAT. HAVE YOU EVER GOT A JOB FROM A POOR GUY? THAT WEALTHY GUY OR GIRL WORKED THEIR ASS OF MOST LIKELY FOR EVERYTHING THEY HAVE AND THEY SHOULD HAVE TO GIVE IT AWAY. THATS WHY ALL OF THESE BUSINESSES ARE CLOSING, OBAMA TOOK IT TO FAR AND THEIR FED UP, SO NOW, THER EGOES THE JOBS. HOPE YOUR HAPPY. SORRY THAT WE WERN'T ABLE TO HAVE A HIGHER TAX BRACKET SO THAT I COULD PAY YOU MORE AND MEET YOUR VERSION OF FAIR. IGNORANCE.

        @Anne
First, Dubya lowered taxes on the rich on the premise that we had a surplus (Clinton had to recover from the last huge runup in our deficit with Reagan).
Then when we starting running a deficit, Dubya continued cutting taxes for the rich on the false premise that they create jobs (ie. Meg Whitman billionaire HP CEO who cut 28,000 jobs to outsource). 60,000 American mfg plants were closed during Dubya's 8 yrs while not one Mexican mfg plant (American goods) was closed. The rich did not get rich by being a "nice" guy. The rich will outsource American jobs in a NY second. But cutting taxes for the rich cost us $2.5 trillion deficit during Dubya's 8 yrs. Cheney took care of that with one shot of self-justified wisdom – "Deficits don't matter".
It is beyond any doubt (except on the Planet of Tea Bag) that cutting taxes for the rich has no connect with creating jobs. Only Demand from the middle class create jobs.
Now since the previous excuses don't fool anyone (except on the Planet of Tea Bag), the rich are whining to high heaven that taxing them is "punishing" them?? So every time the rich get taxed or pay a fee (remember Mitt "Fee Fee" Romney), the poor babies are being "punished instead of paying their fair share – AWWwwwwww! @Annie needs a hug from her momma. Lol.

@Dick – unfortunately, there are many people in this country that don't bother to read and find facts themselves. If Romney is paying 14% income tax don't blame him, blame Congress because that's the TAX LAW.

Dick, at 81 years old I would figure you would have your facts straight. Mitt does not pay any income tax because he does not have a job. His yearly income comes from his investments. INVESTMENT INCOME! You me and everyone else in this country have to pay about the same for this type of income. Do you not have investment income? Did you not save and invest your money? The fact is that the majority of people making $75,000 or less are actually paying around 12%. Again, get your facts straight.

The question is... Are you really smarter than everyone else when you find every hook and crook way of getting out of your taxes? The answer is: NO. All that makes you is someone without a social conscience who can invent excuses to convince yourself that cheating on your taxes doesn't make you a criminal but it makes you smart. That is not a new or unique concept. Criminals have always done it. The gypsies used to say if you leave something out and unattended where they could swipe it then it was not stealing. Their reasoning was that you must not have wanted it an they simply were quicker and smarter than the next guy by taking it first. That's the logic people are using to say that Romney is this success story because he dodges his social legal obligations. That's not a success. That is simply another crooked con artist playing every angle possible to avoid performing his moral, social and legal obligations in life. His entire life is full of the same charateristcs of avoidance of doing what is right. From where he keeps his money all the way down to where he keeps his dog on family outiings. As a human being you are supposed to be born with a certain sense of right and wrong and not have to be overseen and constanly enforced to do the right thing. People who can't fathom what right or wrong is unless someone is standing over them constantly forcing them to do right are called sociopathic. Breaking laws then saying that is okay and saying that you are the real victim because the laws shouldn't be in place to begin with... that is the hallmark of antisocial personality disorder. That is an aberration in the human mind and it is not what makes a person "smart". It's what is broken inside them that can't be fixed.

I have worked in corporate america for several years. Romney claims that he ran a successful business and knows how o get the people back to work. If you have worked in coporate america it isn't the man in the big office that is running the business it is the middle class that gets the credit for that. I have seen this so often that CEO Presidents of companies delegate to the real workers. So Romney hired great people to run his business while he played golf. An that is what he will do if he is president delegate. He said it already he was going to let each state decide their own medical plan and get rid of Obamacare where will that leave people like myself who hasn't had healthcare in 7 years. Nobody cares about the people as a whole than Obama but Romney the poor means nothing to him, just look at the company he keeps Donald Trump loves the limelight the man is crazy. We have had Bush do we really need another one in Romney?

Your father used the wrong word... sometimes we receive wrong "mental maps" as kids and you definitely got a detour into the ditch. What he really meant was "See he's more deceitful then you." To answer your question ...
Yes Romney is more deceitful then Obama. Of course when a person is instilled with deceitful type of "smarts" as a child they learn early on how to screw everyone else and sometimes that disease is embedded deep enough that they actually begin to believe that they are being blessed by God for living right. Truth is ... God is going to give that sneaky, selfish, low down greed filled man who has stored his riches up for himself ... a chance to do what God commanded him to do, and he will give him many chances to do so. Problem is...once you've been eaten up with selfishness – PRIDE begins to blind them. The lost soul runs around proclaiming excellence and is merely a fool that blew his own chance to save his own soul. Then the catastrophic event hits – one that money cannot and will not fix. It is not always the culprit himself that suffers great illness to learn that lesson, sometimes the catastrophe hits the individual that he loves most and when that happens and money can't fix the issue – that is the only time that the fool who thinks he's smarter because he was merely granted riches and blessings as a test in life – only to find out he will ultimately lose in the end. So the catastrophe is waiting to happen. When it does – it will literally rock the world of those of those who think their money is their source of security in life. Personally I feel pity for Romney at this point. The deceit and lies he's spewed will all carry a consequence.... foolish man. There is a way that seems right unto man yet it ends in death and destruction.

Romney did not pay 13% "income tax". He pays 13% on "capital gains". It is amazing to me how so many Americans don't understand the difference. He paid a much higher income tax rate when he drew a salary. Then he invested the money. The 13% is on the investment income he makes, which SHOULD BE TAXED AT A LOWER RATE because investment drives this economy. Unbelievable to me, discussions like this. Of course, Warren Buffet understands this. So does Bill Clinton. Yet they were critical of Romney for paying this rate, knowing full well his income had already been taxed once. They depend on the "people" not to get it.

Stacey should know that Latter-Day Saints/Mormans historically discriminated against African-americans by prohibiting them from roles in the church's priesthood and misinterpreting holy scriptures to justify their prejudice and preaching African-americans were a 'cursed' race. Supporting a politician whose religion has latent traces of continued prejudice is disappointing. – Or maybe she is just clueless.

While the Latter Day Saints did not let blacks have the priesthood, The welcomed them and many other minorities into their congregations from the beginning. Have you been to churches in the South. Blacks still can't become members and in many places have good reason to fear for their lives should they try to attend white churches.

Even setting aside the injustice of having my tax rate increased, my social security cut and all of my retirement investment accountys tank'again, because of radically bad judgement by those who can assess the cost of their retirement to we who are their victims. It is almost impossible to think that voters are so impaired as to elect people who can't even do the smart thing for their wealthy backers, forget the dis-service to most of us.
Do they really expect their efforts to be approved by saving the wealthy a few percent points in rate savings, while reducing their net worth, GNP and earnings in general by double digits?
Do they really think that any reductions in taxes in the future will offset dumping the country back into recession or depression, squandering the retirement plans of millions and turning the USA into a laughing stock around the world, then blaming it on Obama? Is it possible that voters could be that stupid?
Pass Obama's bill that has already passed the Senate right now. Negotiate budget cuts in conjunction with extending the borrowing limit (which is where it belongs anyhow) and please, hold out for the balanced budget amendment.
Then we will prioritize, figure out what's important and who to vote for

People need to stop attacking Governor Romney, it's a shame that he lost and that's enough. Why isn't Obama attacked on all the garbage he's done? he keeps on doing more and then some, he all he does is just turn things around and blame others. Ever since he's gotten a 2nd term the homeless rate has gone up and there are more people on welfare. Romney would of been a great president, unlike the garbage that is in the white house right now.

I am please to "KNOW" that you are just expressing your opinion. First and foremost it is not a shame that Romney lost it was a BLESSING. Secondly the reason why Obama is " NOT" being attacked for all the garbage he has done, is people with one ounce of common sense realizes that the garbage you are referring to is mainly the BS garbage create by the BIGOTS in the TEA PARTY Republicans. Any one just looking at that group can see that there is not any signs of DIVERSITY. That the comment Sarah " Brainless" Palin make about " taking our country back". Everyone in America who r lives with any form of decency realizes that America was not taken away. So while you and those like you ponder is your misery of an African-American being President, take into account that African-Americans since the beginning of this nation of ours have been shading their blood making this country FREE. In fact one of the first to died for this country' freedom and independence was an African- American. But than again, American History have purposely OMITTED the contributions, act of bravery, and sacrifices of African-Americans. Why must their be a month set aside for African-American History, why it just be a month of America History. We will become a strong nation once we can get pass the RACE ISSUES THAT HAUNTS US.

At the end of the day, you have to cut some spending from somewhere in order to balance the budget, correct?? We can't allow Obama to continue spending money this country DOESN'T have. Sorry, that's called bad management. It's actually what got us to this point.

Take a look at Clinton years when he allowed people making under $50K take out mortgages 3, 4, 5x what they can afford then they were drowning in dept.

We will be a socialist country, without freedom of religion, without guns to defend ourselves, without entrepreneurs to provide jobs and ideas and and without money to run the country. To keep programs and our way of life as is, is to be selfish and condemn our children and grandchildren without a future.

How sane is a person who seriously thinks Obama compares to this shooter who killed so many people? I'd say if you even have to ask this question you need some serious psychological help. You scare me more as much as that shooter because that is the antisocial personality traits that people like that show. As I'm watching these people stand in support of the deceitful lies and then boast as if they have no conscience at all it's very scary to think that there are so many of these mentally deranged individuals who lack in morals and pretend to be Godly people. They know exactly what they are doing.

  4. Liberal And Proud Of It

Piers, I saw part of your cream puff interview of Mitt and Mrs. Romney. Did the Romney campaign staff write the questions for you? Please BE a journalist.

Next time be like Brian Williams, and ask the tough questions (but also be more insistent on getting an actual answer rather than a recitation of talking points):

    1. What are the differences between your proposed economic policies and those of the Bush Administration?

    2. Were there years when you didn't pay any income tax? (In 2008 many people whose income was primarily in the form of investments were able to take a capital loss, pay no taxes, and then buy back their securities for approximately the same price as they sold them).

All you white blue collar voters in swing states: if you vote for Romney, you will get what you deserve. Unfortunately, my family and I will suffer along with you. I do not love everything that the Democrats have done. But recognize that Class warfare started 1981, launched by the Reagan Administration. The code name was "Supply Side Economics". It has been a hugely successful stealth war, as the opponent (working people) does not know it is being attacked. Rather, too many of us instead respond to the fear mongering and anger stoking of the right wing (this was once called "The Southern Strategy").

I am Not African-American but many of the people in this country have a serious problem with this man's race, i just hope you are not one. Romney supporters REFUSE to acknowledge that Bush is solely responsible for this country's economy woes, remember he entered office with a surplus, Obama entered office with a RECESSION, BIG DIFFERENCE.

Yes, you are right. He did GIVE THE ORDER to kill some of the terrorists, but HE didn't find them. The military did. And the reason they did was because of intel they got from interrogation techniques that Obama said were wrong. So now he's taking credit for information that we received from intel he wouldn't have had if he had his way.

Yes, Obama did inherit a bad economy. People forget to acknowledge that the beginning of the fall of the economy began with the banks, and who was over the bank oversite committee?? The DEMOCRATES! And the economy during bush was doing good until the Dems won the senate and congress. And of course, you had to throw in the BLACK thing. Well, its hard for me to be predjudice against him since I'm black, but thanks for showing me just how predjudice you liberals try to make this. Its not about race, its about common sense. The numbers are worse now than when Obama took office. We're going backwards instead of forward. Its time for a successful business man to take charge.

The question is... Does Mr. Morgan need to stop with his obvious campaigning for Romney using CNN? The answer is YES. I specifically watch CNN to stay in the middle of the road and hear both good and bad on both sides objectively. Now for some reason they've annointed Morgan as the approved show of the Romney Republican campaign. Tonight Piers came out and said bluntly that he's all for Romney. He completely attacked, berated and talked over one of his guests and he looked very toadlike and got very red in the face. I don't come to CNN for this. I can just watch Fox for that type of radical right wing hysteria. If you ask me... it's time to just find another channel to watch.

Romney is a ficking Crook. so was hisfather, now he is trying to bring his son into the fold. You are Obama was a community organizator, He had every opportunity to be a Corporate lawyer and make millions of dollars. Simply put Obama gave of millions to HELP thousands of struggling hard working Americans. Romney of the other hands made millions while unemploying thousands of hard working American "FACT". If you judge a man by his words , he can easily make to fool out of you. But if you judge a man by his HEART there is NO WAT TO GO WRONG. Obama is NOT in it for the money. Obama clearly understand the suffering of the Middle-class. Romney on the other says that 47% of low and middle-class American is not worth the time of day. Oh he said this while entertaining his 1% friends at a $50,000 a place luncheon, I am sure you were there. Romney needs your vote NOT YOUR ASSOCIATION, because YOU AND YOUR FAMILY are beneath him. All the people at K7B Toys were laid-off or told of store closing around Christmas. Romney is heartless when it comes to people and relentless when it go the money. If anything he will destroy the economy three worse than Bush.

Romney borned into millions found humor is making a mockery of struggling Americans. So I ask you this SIMPLE QUESTION, Do you what a PRESIDENT WHO GAVE UP AN OPPORTUNITY TO MAKE MILLIONS TO HELP HARD WORKING STRUGGLING AMERICANS OR A PRESIDENT WHO LAID-OFF THOUSANDS OF HARD WORKING_STRUGGLING AMERICAN AND MADE MILLIONS ? IT is all of our choice, but once you vote you can not get a do over. Trust a man why what he said and you are doomed to get screwed, Trust a man by his actions and chance are you can not go wrong. The commentary here, a lot of it, is less than salutory. A lot of comments for Piers Morgan because he is smart, knows more about the world than just Americca, is an outstanding interviewer, and looks good and dresses good, too. Those who speak abusively against him are no Americans! except for indigenous people, everyone came here, just like Piers! Yet indigineous people are not even mentioned as the "founders" of this country, as they have a right to be. But, regarding Romney and his comment about success: no one has a problem with success, but msot people have a moral problem with unmitigated greed, and misrepresantation, and having a Trojan horse in Paul Ryan, who can sneak in the policies and outlooks that Romney is backing away from: or, to put it plainly, is not telling the truth about. As for Romeny drawing criticism: he behaved unbecomingly, and he deserves the criticism. It goes to show his instincts and feeling about diplomacy, and the rest of the world.
God save America from Romeny and Ryan! R &R for the well to do: and down down down for the middle class, and the poor can go to "hell". I wonder if it will be poor will have recourse to Moroni, the Recording Angel. I doubt it, as that community seems pretty "choesn": longest life span, due to no drinking, smoking, being married, and significantly, because they have more than 12 years of schooling. Various levels of college. that is. What other religions is this exclusive, I beg to ask?

Piers. It is obvious that trickle down does not work but still the journalist don't seem to get it together to find economists who will explain the ins and outs of trickle down so that everyone can understand the reason the rich do or dont trickle, when and why the rich stop trickling down and when trickle down works and when it does not. There must be such things as evidence that people do trikle down such and such a percent of their fortune when when they have a million and less when they have two. When are they creative and for every million and create a new business and when does their creativity get less though they have more money to create businesse with, because creating businesses has to do with creative effort as well as whether or not you have the where with all to support you ideas with money? I think journalists could make the understanding of these questions a lot more complete if they put their backs into researching such matters and finding those who can answer these questions and only wonder why they gloss over these questions so. rose macaskie madrid.

It is unfortunate tha Gov. Mitt Romney is so wanting to win the office of president that he consistently flip flops on issues. He will say all the "things his Jewish audience" wants to hear: he will say everything "the Tea Party people" want to hear, and of course he will "say everything his most rich donors" want to hear. This blind ambition to reach the white house is possibly a good example of how he will make decisions once he is in office. Is American ready to entrust our national security to a flip flopper? What an embarrassment nationally he will become among other world leaders!

Mike Gehring? There was no active war during that prime time in Obama's life, he considered being in the military but like you had a different calling. Romney on the other hand was in his prime during a time of war and he ran to France, left his current wife (prior to marriage) and nearly lost her as a result. That's what money can buy for a rich boy who decides to go on a mission. Most middle class young men didn't have that option so that's why the comment was made. Out of line or not, Romney ran. That's a whimp in my book... when there is an active war going down in your own country and daddy can send you off to a safe place... because he can. We all have a right to our own opinions and you have yours. To me... Romney is a deceptive liar and a whimp. I'm voting for Obama. If want to pay the taxes he pays, then make the money he makes! Quite trying to steal from others and insult the wealthy just because you are jealous and have a low self esteem. Also, you don't want to take into consideration the common terminology people are using here. The commenter is talking about PERCENTILE. After all the loopholes and tax dodges... especially all those associated with his religion...there are a LOT of people who pay a higher percentile than Romney does. Actually, anyone who works in a self-employment category pays a much higher percentile than the rest of the nation. Let's face it... Romney hasn't even proven to us he pays all his taxes. If you think Romney is something evil because a few people lost their jobs on occasion, then my God, what does that make Obama??!! Millions have lost their jobs since he has been in office. Unemployment has increased since he has become President. He "says" he has created jobs. In truth, he has created nothing but government jobs. And the ones he has created make a lot more money than you or I do, so why aren't you picking on Obama for that? He's taking OUR tax money that WE pay in to the government, and creates jobs in his administration that make a lot more money than those of us in the private sector.

I read in the newsweek magazine that when Mr. Romney was Governor of the State of Massachussetts, the economic situation got worst because of the Nation Ranking of the developed of the 50 States, the States of Massachussetts fell from the 26th place to the 36 place. As a manager of a State he managed the State of Massachussetts to a bad Economic situation. In my humble opinion, I think that Mr. Romney as a manager of a Private Company he was a success but as a manager of a State or of a Country he will do bad. Half of America is living off the gov.t and half of those are scamming and cheating to keep it...I've seen peeople buy Steaks with food stamps and sell them for cash for booze or drugs...Why don't you be a

I agree. People live on the government welfare are eating better, somewhat live better than those who work hard everyday. They pay nothing for their needs. The couple who are successful middle class pay everything, nothing free. The government welfare only encourage people to take advantage of this system which result American in 16 trillion debt. Do any American be ever shame how much debt we have that we lose respects from all over the world. People really abuse American generosity and public system. Be successful, independent , hard working are the keys. You have kids you should pay your own, not taxpayer money to take care of you, your children and you family. people who are on the welfare like gangs, they know how to find the way to get. The people who work hard pay enough for those who never want to work.

As long as this country continue to allow the rich to get tax breaks and the middle classes pay for everything, more and more will continue to be added to welfare. the rich continues to get Richer and the middle classes continues toget poor and eventually find themselves on welfare. Here is what Joseph Stiglitz world renown and Noble prize winning economist had to say about the widening of the class gap: http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2012/08/09/joseph-stiglitz-inequality_n_1760296.html?ref=topbar

Jo… just the facts PLEASE! I am a clinical social worker who works with the poorest of the poor. Many of whom lack proper training and / or education, are elderly, ill, disabled and / or otherwise marginalized. My job is to work myself out of a job by providing resources and education that will promote self-sufficiency. Believe it or not, most of my clients do NOT like "living on the system", would prefer independence and self-sufficiency, are hardworking, and determined to "break the cycle"…The lifestyle afforded on "welfare" is just shy of inhumane. With this said, not all welfare recipients are lazy and irresponsible as you would have them to be…. The vast majority are NOT.

This is truly a person who has a Bucket List. Next is King of the World. You can tell he is trying to afford the rich to be even richer. Can you say Hoover Village. This is where we will be headed. Just check out how he is dressed as well as his wife. Obviously, if he did not have the funds he has access to, his wife would still be suffering the signs and symptoms of MS. I have been in the medical field for over 20 years and know this to be true, as well as my own personal health struggle. Further more, I treat patients in the US hospitals and none from the Europe or Canada speaks badly of their health care. They can not wait to get back once they have been treated her. What does this tell you.

'Discouraged' workers face tough road back to employment!

Are you feeling the effects of four years of failure? Why don't you try another four years of the same? Who was it that said that failure is the desire to repeat mistakes with the hope that good results will eventually happen?

Well you can thank the Failure in Chief, Obama!

23 million America's unemployed or underemployed!
Unemployment over 8% for 43 months and counting!
The price of a gallon of gas has doubled! Under Obama's failed leadership!
49 million Americans on food stamps!
3.6 million more Americans on Social Security Disability Insurance!
    Backdoor amnesty for illegal aliens!
Democrats in the Senate have not produced a budget in four years!
51% of college graduates cannot find a job! Because of Obama's failed fiscal policy!
$5.5 trillion in new federal debt, under Obama!
In Obama's twisted logic, he will not tell Americans, that the top 20% of all American income earners pay 87% of all federal income tax.
Will not enforce all federal laws equally! Will enforce DOMA!
Ambassador Stevens was murdered in Benghazi, Libya! Obama lied about his death!
Obama's foreign policy failures are notable, he has lost. Pakistan, Afghanistan, Iraq, Syria, Egypt, Yemen, Libya!

Facts do not cease to exist because they are ignored.
    –Aldous Huxley

Remember: Insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.

    Voters anaology !!!!
How easily can one be fooled? This is just great. We sure can be fooled...Heaven or Hell? While walking down the street one day a Corrupt Former Republican Governor (that may be redundant) was tragically hit by a car and died. His soul arrives in heaven and is met by St. Peter at the entrance. "Welcome to heaven," says St. Peter. "Before you settle in, it seems there is a problem. We seldom see a high official around these parts, you see, so we're not sure what to do with you." No problem, just let me in, says the Former Governor. "Well, I'd like to, but I have orders from the higher ups. What we'll do is have you spend one day in hell and one in heaven. Then you can choose where to spend eternity." Really? I've made up my mind. I want to be in heaven," says the Governor. "I'm sorry, but we have our rules." And with that, St. Peter escorts him to the elevator and he goes down, down, down to hell. The doors open and he finds himself in the middle of a green golf course. In the distance is a clubhouse and standing in front of it are all his friends Karl, Eric, Paul and other politicians who had worked with him. Everyone is very happy and in evening dress. They run to greet him, shake his hand, and reminisce about the good times they had while getting rich at the expense of the people. They played a friendly game of golf and then dine on lobster, caviar and the finest champagne. Also present is the devil, who really is a very friendly guy who is having a good time dancing and telling jokes. They are all having such a good time that before the Senator realizes it, it is time to go. Everyone gives him a hearty farewell and waves while the elevator rises. The elevator goes up, up, up and the door reopens in heaven where St. Peter is waiting for him, "Now it's time to visit heaven...So, 24 hours passed with the Senator joining a group of contented souls moving from cloud to cloud, playing the harp and singing. They have a good time and, before he realizes it, the 24 hours have gone by and St. Peter returns. "Well, then, you've spent a day in hell and another in heaven. Now choose your eternity." The Governor reflects for a minute, then he answers: "Well, I would never have said it before, I mean heaven has been delightful, but I think I would be better off in hell." So St. Peter escorts him to the elevator and he goes down, down, down to hell... Now the doors of the elevator open and he's in the middle of a barren land covered with waste and garbage. He sees all his friends, dressed in rags, picking up the trash and putting it in black bags as more trash falls to the ground. The devil comes over to him and puts his arm around his shoulders. "I don't understand," stammers the Governor. "Yesterday I was here and there was a golf course and clubhouse, and we ate lobster and caviar, drank champagne, and danced and had a great time. Now there's just a wasteland full of garbage and my friends look miserable. What happened?" The devil smiles at him and says, YOU ARE FAMILIAR WITH DECEPTION AND LYING, "Yesterday we were campaigning, today, you voted."

Scary thoughts of having Mittie as our President...we all looked at his eyes during the debate...either too much Red Bull before the debate, or his BIPOLAR behavior came through, you know the Mitt that cares about 100% of ALL americans...so sad to know that some actually believe this freak..one think he definitely accomplished so called wining the debate...HE IS THE WINNER of LIES...we all saw the tape about the 47%, coming out of his bipolar mouth, oh he did not mean it? Well did he mean anything then that he told us during the debate he thought he won...our President could not even look at this freaking liar..was taking notes of the new lies! Mitt is not only rude, but dilusional, why not give his millions to the same people that are asking him for jobs...then we might really believe that he cares about the rest of us...he is looking to buy our votes and this election. Firing BIG BIRD, Elmo too? Get real people, this Mittie is going to run our country? Will the REAL MITT PLEASE STAND UP. I guarantee the REAL MITT will appear AFTER our President is re-elected. He might even accuse the Entire country that we made up the votes too! Look at his entire family...his wife has MS and she said once she is first lady she will inform all the folks suffering from MS that riding horses is the way to cope with this horrible MS condition. I am sure the average American can go and buy a few horses to feel better! The entire family looks pompous and very scary to me. Vote for our President and let the Roaming Mitts go back to their dillusional life

Mittie is a BULLY with very little common sense and a BIG MOUTH! Go Away Mittie and take all your Roaming Mitties with you...and why is everybody still referring to him as GOVERNOR? He is no longer the Governor...Big Mouth yes! Scary Human Being that wants to run our country...UGH! I can't wait to see his arrogant face when he LOSES on election day!

It does not take much to make sense of who is the better candidate. Obama, a Havard Graduate, and first African-American President of the Havard Law review had every opportunity to leave Havard and make MILLIONS of dollars with some major law firm, but chose to reach back and help hard working struggling Americans who Romney refers to as freeloaders, living off of the government. Romney on the other hands made MEGA MILLIONS while harming thousands of those same hard working , struggling Americans who he refers to as freeloaders. If you Judge a MAN by his action, YOU CAN NOT GO WRONG, but if you Judge a MAN by his words we all are DOOMED.

That makes up 60% of America right now, and the wage range is somewhere in the neighborhood of $25,000 per year up to $200,000 a year. If you make more than $200,000 per year, you are not mdidle class.

I live in the U.S but happen to be in the U.K for a few weeks visiting family. I was stunned to read Piers Morgan's article in yesterday's Sunday Mail where he said Mitt Romney might save the American economy, although he says how unprincipled Romney is! I agree with Piers that Romney is unprincipled, but what makes Piers think a leopard changes its spots?

Romney spent 15 years running Bain Capital during which time thousands of jobs were downsized, terminated or shipped overseas. Romney is a salesman who will do or say anything to make a sale. Given that, the flip-flops make complete sense as do years of stashing money off-shore to avoid paying U.S taxes. Unbeknownst to Piers, Romney was not popular as a Governor. He didn't run for a 2nd term because he knew he would loose.

His plan for America is Bush's trickle down plan, and he knows Americans don't want more Bush, which is why he has to waffle. The right-wing have said openly, all they need is someone with a working set of digits to hold a pen, and they like Bush's plan.

Obama has been vilified by the right-wing media machine (Murdoch's empire) since the day he took office. In fact 16 important Republican lawmakers swore the day he was inaugurated they would do everything in their power to bring him down, even if it meant sinking the American economy. Obama had a Senate majority of 60 votes for two months and one day. Since then virtually every bill (including a jobs bill to bring 2 million jobs) has been stopped by a Republican minority party filibuster, which says you need 60 votes to bring a bill to the floor for discussion.
Obama stopped a depression. We lost 4.4 million jobs in the last year of Bush's term and continued to loose jobs until Obama's Stimulus Bill kicked in. Since then we've had 30 months of continuous job growth adding 4.6 million private sector jobs. Romney's plan is to go back to Bush's plan.

Am I blind – I can't find one story, one article, one headline, one new story about the Impeachable offense of the White House denying aid to our Americans dying in Libya on the CNN site or on CNN live. Why are you not reporting this story. The Intelligence Community – of course they knew what was going on and sent this word to the White House where Obama & Biden were briefed on the situation. They were the ones who made the decision – not the Intelligence Community. Can't you see this is a huge cover-up! Obama then got a restful night sleep as our citizens were murdered and denied pleas for help. This was not the doing of the CIA, military – this was a direct order to "stand down" from the White House. Afterall, Obama could not be bothered as he was packing for Vegas and preparing for the View. Just really confused on why the mainstream media is not covering this gross offense – you should be outraged CNN – you should be demanding answers rather than blindly ignoring this injustice. You have a duty – Why are you protecting Obama – can you not understand or comprehend what he has done! Picture this – we have Americans pleading for help – they were told to stand down. They went anyway to protect Stevens and were brutally killed. Why will you not report on this – is it because we are days away from an election? This has nothing to do with an election – it has everything to do about Obama covering up to win an election. It has everything to do about watching our fellow Americans die. DO THE RIGHT THING CNN – DO YOUR JOB – REPORT THE TRUTH – ARE YOU JOURNALISTS OR ARE YOU SO LEFT YOU ARE BLINDED BY AN AGENDA YOURSELF. Stop the cover-up and start reporting on this IMPEACHABLE OFFENSE!

      You got that right.

Romneys problem is not 'success at any cost' which is deplorable at the best of the time, his problem is the conceit of the Rich. When the bible verse mentions its easier for a camel to pass through the eye of a needle than for a wealthy man to enter the Kingdom of God', its Romney they're talking about.

Not because of anything other than the fact he is amoral. He can't see why he is wrong. This is what disqualifies him from leadership. Building up a profitable business (good), building up a profitable business by wiping away other people's success simply because he has more financial backing than the poor guy who's worked hard all his life for that little payrise or perk bit by bit.. Completely wrong. to efface or eclipse it in the face of your own interest? Unethical. To call it success on the basis of 'my wallets bigger than yours, so bye bye little guy... ' This is success ? Its unchristian, its disrespectful and it is definitely not MORAL. An educated man should know BETTER.

Did Jesus say 'they hate me because they're jealous of my success' Sorry: not the words of a humble and pious christian man.

Go to church, read that bible. Contrast its view with yours. Remark about how you saved a company and made a hefty profit for yourself by getting rid of people, not on an efficiency basis, or value basis but on a simple profit ratio. Then compound that moral fugue state you're in by saddling that newly acquired company with a loan it can't afford (and because the banks were filled with the same stupid greedy people – they'll oblige) then take out that big payment back to you and your investors.. saddle the victim company with that debt it can't repay. Offload it, push it down the road to oblivion. Send it burning into bankrupt obscurity carrying every job and hope and dream of every american employee you left behind who labored and toiled for many years to bring it into your hands.. Then to compound your conceit , run for President and tell everyone how good you are.

Call it moral, call it ethical, call it American? Call it Patriotic ? You need to go back to school and learn that it was more than profit margins and personal greed which made this country great.

And for anyone who hides behind the perfectly 'legal' argument in his financial dealings. A moral man would not exploit such ethically questionable loopholes to make millions. Give some moral people a couple of terms in office to put the law back on a moral context which shames the greedy and celebrates the real success stories who don't leave a pile of broken american dreams in its wake ... we might have a better America. Thats the problem no one's talking about the fact that Romneys success is built in part on the shattered hopes and dreams of many unsuspecting Americans who simply didn't have the priviledged lifestyle or the connections he has. Too bad ?

Thats what makes America great ? Sickening. Founding fathers would be turning in their graves to see their fellow Americans treated so poorly.

No one hates you because your successful. Problem is you are not successful. You are greedy and reckless and out of touch. And putting you in charge of an already burdened America would just leave it like many of the companies you've touched. Saddled with debt and ripe for a hostile takeover.

America needs better than a man who's gone to church all his life yet remained completely untouched by the lessons of wisdom, compassion and morality that the church has taught (if you in any way believed what you were taught the 47% remark should never have passed your lips)

Its not success which is being attacked it is your lack of integrity.

Why is nobody talking about this????

"Through a closely held equity fund called Solamere, Mitt Romney and his wife, son and brother are major investors in an investment firm called H.I.G. Capital. H.I.G. in turn holds a majority share and three out of five board members in Hart Intercivic, a company that owns the notoriously faulty electronic voting machines that will count the ballots in swing state Ohio November 7. Hart machines will also be used elsewhere in the United States."

I will comment on position of Mitt Romney on standing for only Pakistan 100 warhead nuclear power and ignoring Afghanistan have a good luck for him and will see for not getting enough experiences for continuous mistakes of republican politicians during past many years , I think supporting Pakistan will probably affect future of America in future because of Pakistan have two face ,one face beside of America and second face helping terrorist in region against democracy .

Mitt Romney, if I believed that you meant everything you said in the interview clip, and I believed that you would march to your tune, I would be the most vigorous supporter of your run for the presidency in the USA.

Willard is a mormon cult follower who only wanted women barefoot and pregnant in the kitchen. Anne Romney had no education except mormon cult theology which is worthless. Anne had nannies and maids in her home what does she know about every day America ? The Republicans are stuck in some 1950s Pleasantville movie scene. Hopefully all this religion garbage gets thrown on the dustbin of history.

No one is attacking your success Mr. Romney. What they are attacking is you wavering on issue after issue, except for giving higher tax breaks to those in the upper 5-10% income. You can afford an accountant to do your taxes and find you the best loopholes possible, while your awyers defend your actions so you can get away with paying under 15% tax. And, yet the middle, and lower class cannot afford these services. However; this is not what people who did not vote for you are against–they are against your dumb statement about we don't care about the other 47%, and I have a binder fool of womens' names. What kind of an answer is that when trying to give women an opportunity to become C-level officers. Just gets me that you can't just help yourself and your party by taking it like a man and face the fact you lost.
Also, if you would have won, you would have us fighting another war or 2. Enough is enough, unless we fight for the cause of the weak and those who cannot defend themselves, or those who are truly our allies.

The average tax rate for the top 5-10% of income is 40%. I would hope that you can understand the frustration in our system where we have people that don't work all year and get a "tax refund" even though they didn't pay taxes...

At some level, the wealtthy that you abhor so much are going to get tired of it and guess what, they aren't gong to open businesses, they aren't going to create jobs, and then they won't be paying taxes so then whose going to pay it. Did you notice how many business just closed after the election? And continue to do so? At some point, when you punish the sucessful for being successful they stop trying and in the end its going to hurt you because then you don't have a job. Hostess is a prime example. Good for Hostess. Stop acting lke it is the goverments responsiblity to take care of you and man up!

Willard lost because he represents a Republican party that is out of touch with the American people. He is a member of the mormon cult that is now part of the Christian Right and their decline is here. The American people can not relate to a man who didn't want to talk about his faith, when deep down he knew his faith was nothing but a con. How can anyone believe the faith of Joseph Smith, a man who had 87 wives, one as young as 14 years old. A man who obviously lied about some 200 pound gold tablets that contained the book of mormon. It is historical fact that Jesus Christ did not preach to the American people and that the American-Indians are not descendants of the Jews. DNA proves this. Joseph Smith's translation of Egyptian papyrus has proven to be false. His successor Brigham Young had 70 wives, one who divorced him and called him a con. Mark Twain wrote about Brigham Young and called the book of mormon chloroform in print. Mormons need to disband their cult. Give their temples to the Methodists. Never forget Joseph Smith and Brigham Young were both origianlly Methodists. Mormons will all know Jesus Christ will not reappear in Independence, Missouri, your Garden of Eden or will not reappear in Nauvoo, Illinois where Joseph Smith committed bank fraud. Willard's God of Joseph Smith has been defeated. A mormon will never be president of the United States. How many husbands will Anne Romney get anyway on the mormon cult heaven of kolob ?

This is terrible, and your post is some what laughable. Wow, I just can't believe that people think this coutnry is doing well. Really? wow wow wow, are you sure your not happy becuase you got a free phone? :-) It's obvious based on this post you must never have read a financial statement before.....

@czar33 I am fine with your part about praying to God to re-elect President Obama. I am not fine with your prayer to strike someone with cancer. I don't believe Romney has done anything to you to ask for something this bad. If you believe in God and his son, Jesus Christ, you also ought to believe in forgiving! This is the true nature of Christ–not Christianity.

No one is attacking success. We are attacking greed and the state of mind that having more money is the only thing that matters.

IN REBUTTAL OF MITT'S EXAMPLE OF MARCO RUBIO GROWING UP AND SEE THE BEAUTIFUL HOMES ON STAR ISLAND WASN'T THE FIRST THING THAT CAME TO MIND FOR MOST BLACKS AND HISPANICS I KNOW. WHAT THEY THOUGHT WAS, "IF THIS COUNTRY WAS FAR AND EQUAL AND NOT RACIST WITH A WHITE CEILING, WE TOO COULD HAVE A HOME LIKE THIS".

In the next election, the poor, gays, women and Latinos will come out of the bushes and make George Orwell's "Animal Farm" come true again, will overpower the rich pigs who believe that "all animals are equal, but some animals are more equal than others." The cycle has come around again. FDR is back in business. The Herbert Hoover Bush boys gone and FDR is back in the business of restoring the poor and middle class to support the rich the way they should, by being able to buy their products. Obama may be gone, but his party who was there before he came, who chose him to be the Horse in Animal Farm, will still be there and another strong leader will emerge and will be a woman. The following election, it will be a gay black woman. The patterns are set for the progressive revelation of God given to mankind as much as we are willing and able to seek and accept. America, one nation under God, indivisible and justice for all!

As I recall: "There is not a dime's worth of difference between the two parties. " -Gov. George Wallace. They spin from each end. One trickles down and the other trickles up. Each picks up where the other one left off and takes credit for fixing the other's mess. Neither one runs a campaign on two things only: 1. Why I am qualified to run the country and 2. The way I will operate. 99% is doing in the other party's candidate when each candidate never did do anything. The parties do it! And passed bills are the only criteria for comparison for success. The country is not in debt. We still own 70% of the world's resources no matter how much we are suppose to owe China. The Social Security System is not going to go broke. It readjusts with the ages of the population. Right now it is overloaded with Seniors from 1939 and their children are the majority of voters. On and On and On....manipulation of stats to get elected.

Mitt you are such a successful guy, I just wanted to thank you for all your intentions.
I agree: "When you attack success you have less...that is not the American way" We need to re think our strategy in this country. To many people want to be carried through life.
