Jerry Springer talks politics: "This election is between Barack Obama and Paul Ryan...Romney is almost irrelevant to it"

On Wednesday, "Piers Morgan Tonight" invited television personality Jerry Springer to share his unique perspective, and candid insight, in a live, face to face interview.

Well-known as the host of his long-running tabloid talk show, Springer is also a former mayor of Cincinnati, OH, and is well-versed on the political landscape:

"I think really the toughest thing [Mitt] Romney has to face is that he's running with the Republican label," he told Piers Morgan, referring to the presumptive GOP presidential candidate. "I don't say that being a partisan. I'm saying right now, the Republicans are viewed – as they were a couple of decades ago – as a very old party, not with the modern movement, certainly not with women's rights."

Roughly two weeks since Romney selected Wisconsin's Paul Ryan as his running mate, Springer suspects the Republican vice presidential candidate may play a critical role in dictating the result come November:

"This election is between Barack Obama and Paul Ryan. Romney is almost irrelevant to it," says the 68-year-old "The Jerry Springer Show" host. "Paul Ryan is the budget that this congress has passed. What I say to people is look: 'God forbid Romney is elected. If Romney is elected with this Congress, which has already passed the "Ryan Budget," there is no president for the next four years to veto anything this right wing congress does.'"

Watch the clip, and listen to the interview, as the always lively Jerry Springer further details his fears of a GOP victory in the general election.

Billy Baldwin? What a learned political mind. Syria? Nuclear war in the mid east? Worst economy ever? Nope, you two obviously leftists waste my time talking about a CANDIDATE who said something dumb. Great t.v.-no wonder your ratings are so low.

What an idiot Jerry Springer is. Talk about if Romney is elected and the Senate goes Republican what a mess we will be in.
Evidently Jerry is not aware that for the first two years of Obama's time in office he was in the same position. Only difference it was the Democrats. So was he not afraid at that time.
"Lack of Regard for Women." That could be a sound bite for Springer. Have you seen the shows he puts on TV. Outrageous. Jerry Springer also evidently has been living in Hollywood lala land the last several years.
This country is "BROKE", Period and needs an adult in Washington rather than a liberal ideolog.

obviously your either in a parallel universe like Akins, when Jerry Springer talks about the Lack of Regard for women, he means to the pro-life laws idiotic repubs are trying to establish which limit what a female can do with her body. Jerry Springer was also into politics before he hosted the Springer Show and your country doesnt need another or a new adult in Washington, it needs a compromising and WORKING congress... but that wont happen with the ulta-right wing repubs

I take it Romney is the 'adult' to whom you refer. He is not even mature enough to take a stand on an issue and stick to it -e.g. "I'm pro choice, I'm pro-life, I'm pro life except in certain cases". "I'm for Government run health care, I am against Government run health care". Give me a break. Then there is foreign policy, Neither Romney nor Ryan have any experience in this area. Tell me it did not take an adult to order the killing of bin Laden. Romney doesn't have the guts to make such a decision.

Jerry Springer is one of my favourite TV guests. His political views are compelling and he makes more sense than most politicians. His point that President Obama can not be blamed for high unemployment when Congress (mainly the GOP) insist that cuts be made which requires laying off employees such as teachers, firefighter and police officers is right on. The GOP can't have it both ways. I have yet to hear them give a detailed plan for how they are going to increase the number of jobs while significantly reducing the deficit. They argue that the key is to reduce taxes on the wealthy because they are the ones who create jobs. Well, they have enjoyed the Bush tax cuts for years but they haven't been creating job as evidenced by the unemployment rate so how can Romney justify lowering taxes on the wealthy. Also, lowering taxes reduces revenue and thus does not reduce the deficit.

I loved watching Foxworthy. I have always thought his "You might be a redneck if..." jokes were some of the very best humour ever.

With regards to Pier's comment that 'Christian' has become a bad word, people like Akins can certainly give Christians a bad name. Also, Cameron calls himself a Christian but is intolerant of gays and lesbians and speaks of them as if they are an evil in this world. I think that both Cameron's and Akins' views (and words) fly in the face of the principles that Christianity teaches. There is more to being a Christian than simply believing in Christ. For example, the Bible says all men are created equal, that God is infallible and that we are all created in His image. In other words, each and every one of us has been created exactly as God wants us to be. That includes blacks, Muslims, gays/lesbians, etc. Christianity is not about intolerance, prejudice and hatred, rather, it is about loving 'thy' neighbour, tolerance and love.

So Piers, Christian is not a bad word but some people do not warrant calling themselves Christians.

Obama must run on his record. His record proves what he is capable of – increased poverty, higher unemployment, unstable energy, higher cost of food, poorer education for our kids. Obama is great! He is the most accomplished al Qaeda leader in history!

President Obama is happy to run on his record: Ben Ladin is dead & GM is alive. We're out of Iraq. You remember Iraq? No WMDs, Hans Blix and Joe Wilson told us so. But that didn't stop the Republicans from urinating away 1 Trillion dollars, and lets not forget all the people who died or had their lives ruined. And, the hilarious part is that all these people that got us into that war swagger around calling themselves "Christians." Isn't that sick.
The problem is that Republicans like you with your 85 filibusters; you'll destroy the country if you can't have your way. Even Pier Morgan attacked the president for not being more like Bill Clinton. President Obama spent his first 2 years trying to work with the Republicans and unite the country. He didn't have to, he just thought it was the right thing to do for the Country. Bill Clinton didn't have to deal with Grover Norquest and the Contract with America. Even that short time ago, this Country was that much more civilized. Pier Morgan should go get a job with Fox News. He's just another Bill O'Riley

Bottom line is ... calling a spade a spade! You have Obamacare looming. You have taxes expiring. You have a president clearly anti business, anti free-enterprise, believes NO ONE accomplishes anything without Big Government. A president's whose favorite past time is stirring the class-envy pot, a president who won't budge one iota on development of natural resources, a president whose latest fans are the lunatic’s from Iran and Venezuela, a president clearly doing a rendition of Tricky Dick's ‘duck & cover’ for his Watergate buddies, a president who encourages the Fed to print worthless money further devaluing an anemic dollar,....

Don’t hold your breath people. This so-called recession is a slam-dunk to morph into a full-blown Depression if our Kenyan Socialist is re-elected. You surely WILL get what you ask for!

There is no recovery. Dont let the numbers fool you... they have been cooked for a long time now. Obama has wrecked the economy and added over 5 trillion to the deficit with nothing to show for it. In the first two eyars he could have passed any bill he wanted but didnt even think about jobs. His "laser like" focus was on the golf course and lavish vacations while Americans lost their jobs. He is the biggest clown to ever sit in the Presidency... and he is done come November. I just hope there is something left to recover.

Obama's 2nd term includes plans for a "New Deal"-style overhaul of the economy replete with the creation of a National Infrastructure Development Bank to oversee government control of the financial system; a massive, government-run jobs program to coincide with "paycheck fairness"; full amnesty for illegal aliens; defunding of the U.S. military while channeling Pentagon money to "clean" energy initiatives; a new, multibillion dollar "green" stimulus; and implementing Obamacare in measures nearly impossible to reverse. And that is just the start.

    OBAMA MUST GO!!!!!!!

Piers Morgan has to be the most IRRITATING talk show host ever! His accent grates on my nerves and his baby mouth make me want to flip the channel. As a non-feminist woman I am curious to know why he loves radical feminists and gays so much? Is he gay? Just asking.

Jerry Springer made good common sense about politics. I was quite impressed and agreed with 99.9% of what he said.
For the record, I have seen, less then 10 minutes of his daytime show; that was at a neighbor's house back in 2003.
    Money talks.

Here is an important finding of the House Judiciary Committee...

Beginning in 2011, the Committee has learned that Obama administration officials at the Department of Homeland Security started to include numbers from the Alien Transfer Exit Program (ATEP) in its year-end removal numbers.

The ATEP is a joint effort between ICE and Customs and Border Protection that transfers illegal immigrants apprehended at the U.S.-Mexico border to another point along the Southwest border for removal. But it is illegitimate to count illegal immigrants apprehended by the Border Patrol along the Southwest border as ICE removals. There are no penalties or bars attached when illegal immigrants are sent back via ATEP and they can simply attempt re-entry.

When ATEP removals are subtracted from ICE’s deportation numbers, the 2011 removal total would drop from approximately 397,000 to roughly 360,000 and the 2012 removal total would drop from about 334,000 to around 263,000 (annualized this is estimated to be a drop from about 400,000 to 315,000).

This means that ICE removals for this year will be about 14% below 2008 (369,000) and 19% below 2009 (389,000). So it is officially proven that while the Obama regime touts themselves as historic immigration enforcement achievers, the truth is they have cooked the books and broadcast this lie to the American public. They have done this with the full assistance of liberal media like CNN, ABC, and the Huffington Post which you can count on not to report the revelations contained within these reports!

If anyone tells you that Obama has deported more illegal immigrants than any prior president you tell them that is a lie and that removals for 2012 are down 14% below 2008 levels before Obama took office!

It is terribly unfortunate that American citizens have to form a political revolt against the powers that be to try to stop the invasion of our homeland. We must face powers that have used their influence to corrupt our own government and mass media against the best interest of the American public and against the truth.

Very few things in America can improve for us while such lies as these stand as truth.

    Barack Obama:
Alias Barry Soetoro pawns himself as Barack Obama, the humanitarian, the POTUS, the campaign for hope and change. But we know better. Barry is a radical Marxist who was raised by Communist parents and Communist grandparents. His mentors were known Communists, his contacts in college were strictly Marxists supporters, Marxist professors and a group of Pakistani activists as stated in his book, “Dreams from My Father”.

Barack Obama, tell us about Frank Marshall Davis or Bill Ayers. Surely you remember Mr. Davis. After all, your mother knew him all too well. Mr. Ayers, a known terrorist, responsible for at least a dozen bombings, helped your early Illinois campaign by raising money, thru his organization Underground Weather. Tell us about your trip to Pakistan (’81) with Pakistani Wahid Hamid.

Share with us your ideals of socialism; after all you’re a member of the Democratic Socialists of America (DSA), referred as the “New Party”. Please tell us why you have been influenced by the writings of Karl Marx, the prelude to Communism. Share with us your association with Rev. Jeremiah Wright. Do you justify this man’s message by condemning our country by saying, “God bless America? No, God Damn America?” Was this a forethought supporting your belief in Marxism?

Are these the individuals who have inspired you to public office? Are these the individuals who have inspired you to plot against the United States? Are they the people for whom you’ve entrusted your Muslim faith?

Please tell us why you mocked the Holy Bible and Jesus’ “Sermon on the Mount”, calling the sermon a radical message. You have mocked Christianity and this country. Barack Obama, you have betrayed this nation and all its’ people. Your skin is dark because of your race, but your soul is darker because of your deception.

United States of America………………you didn’t build it Barack Obama.

If you ask me the whole election is a joke. Romney and Obama are not good enought to be president. Honestly we shouldn't have Democrat or Republican parties because all it is is a mudslinging party and they never get anything done for the people. I'm so sick and tired of hoping somebody will step up and be the better man. The problem with our government is that they cannot compromise at all! The most important issues are the economy, education, healthcare etc... Not abortion, gay rights (although why shouldn't gays/lesbians have the right to be married and be happy?), we need to think about what is better for us..
