Coming up this evening at 9 p.m., "Piers Morgan Tonight" welcomes the return of televangelist Joel Osteen and his wife Victoria, for a face to face interview.
Making a third visit to the program, the senior pastor of Houston's famed Lakewood Church tells host Piers Morgan he understands why political campaigns turn to attack ads, but that doesn't mean he has to like it:
"I would love for it too," says Osteen, when asked if he thinks the strategy should stop. "It seems like for as long as I can remember it's always happened ... from what I hear, the negative seems to work. It's a shame."
A man who leads services seen in more than 100 nations around the world, Osteen wishes candidates would play the political game in a more dignified space:
"I'd love it to stay on a higher level. I don't know if that's practical, but I think it'd be great if it would," says the 49-year-old. "I think things are taken out of context, and you know, amplified, and it's not necessarily, like you said, the full truth."

I do not for the life of me know why you keep putting Donald Trump on your show. There are a lot more credible, intelligent, people than Trump. Half of what he says is wrong and the other half means nothing. I enjoy your show, but Trump really can't talk about anything with any credibility except the real estate market.

After hearing your conversation with Donald Trump tonight, and hearing how he said "since the Supreme Court ruled in favor of the Super Pacs being able to spend millions of dollars, it's right". The question should be back to him regarding everything else the court HAS ruled in favor of including: abortion, "Obamacare, and countless other "left leaning" rulings that the Republicans have declared wrong.It seems to be typical Republican politics. If We like it it's fin, if not, the court is wrong! SAD

Thank you "Get Real". The Osteens just happened to be in the holy land and met with Perez. Morgan should have asked him if their Christian graciousness would include meeting with the Palestinian Authority head Abbas. An obvious question that would have gone a long way toward cutting through the evangelical BS of impartiality the Osteens beam at us. Israel and Biblical Prophecy is a cash cow for evangelists, and even the slightest hint of fairness towards the Palestinians, now going through their 45th year of Israeli occupation through conquest, would be scandalous and put a serious dent in the cash flow.

I'm a Christian and Olsten's answers, or non answers make me sick. He wants to make the morman faith the same as the Christian faith. He defends a man who insults the poor, even though Christ had a lot to say about how we should respect and take care of the poor. Osteen was a wuss, remaining neutral for the rich Morman and for the so called Christian who favors gay marriage and partial-birth abortion. We turned the channel, too disgusted to ever have any respect for Morgan. He's a political hack. Shame on CNN.l
Why not ask Mr.Osteen why, while he was in Israel praying with a man who denies the divinity of the Jesus Osteen reportedly serves, he didn't seek a meeting with Palestinian Christians so he could pray with them? The secular state of Israel is just one of many idols to which so-called evangelicals have sold their soul. Osteen may not be political, but he knows an opportunity when he sees it. So did Judas.
Please let us know when Joel Osteen preaches to his members to go out into the world to help the poor, the needy, and the suffering.

Why do we need a preacher? We can find our God in diferant places, why does it have to be a church? You must be nuts to trust a preacher. Preachers are as outdated as Trump.
Why do you keep having Joel on your show. This pastor has no opinion on anything. The next time if you must have this guy on pinch him just so he can say ouch! In other words this guy is so out of touch. If I told my people in church as a pastor what they wanted to here, I would have a thirty thousand member church too. Piers, I wish you would have framed your questions for Osteem tonight more along the lines of "how" Romney made his wealth, rather than whether or not people dislike the Republican candidate "because" of his wealth. Romney has left destruction and despair in the wake of his path to riches. He appears to be extremely naivel, no doubt in part due to an "enabling" childhood.

Really surprised at you Piers. I would have thought that you would have not only been disappointed in the daily apologies from the Obama Administration on the terrorist attacks on our embassy in Libya and the attacks elsewhere.
