Only in America: "The country's biggest idiot"

On Thursday, Piers Morgan used his "Only in America" segment to introduce viewers to a gentleman he's touting as "the country's biggest idiot."

Rolling videotape captured in a warm weather climate often associated with the desert, the host notes that viewers aren't looking at the Middle East, but rather, America's West - specifically, Phoenix, Arizona.

In providing context, Morgan notes that the footage was shot less than two weeks after the movie theater shooting in Aurora, Colorado left 12 people dead and nearly 60 wounded:

"We see a young man wearing Arabic clothing, holding what appears to be a rocket launcher, his face concealed, walking the streets of the city," explained the "Piers Morgan Tonight" host.

Noting that it took 15 minutes before the authorities apprehended the subject, Morgan then supplied the most-shocking factoid of the entire ordeal:

"What the cops didn't know – what nobody who watched this knew at the time – is that the grenade launcher was fake - a movie prop - and that this was all an act," he shared.

Naming names, Morgan further fills in the specifics:

"The imbecile behind this ridiculous stunt was named as one Michael David Turley – who was arrested this past Monday and charged with giving a false impression of a terrorist act."

But while Turley was the mastermind who staged such a stunt, he wasn't its central star:

"Instead, he persuaded his 16-year-old nephew to march around with the bogus RPG," which, the host notes, "could have got the poor young teenager killed."

Turley claims his move was centered around raising awareness and promoting safer surroundings.

Morgan saw it differently:

"Really, he did it because he's a dangerous, attention-seeking fool."

In the words of the host, "Only in America" might such a plan earn the offender Morgan's newest moniker, as he he's now to be known simply as "a gutless little twerp."

For Piers Morgan to call anyone an idiot would be like the ketlle calling the pot black! If you saw his interview with the President of Iran, you would understand what I mean!

Frankly, I believe he has pith balls for brains & his debates, which he calls high level are nothing more than that of a whiny child. He has much to learn before he can become wise...........

The only change that I have seen is allowing Mrs. Obama to destroy the lives of a family of a white race. FORWARD. Allow Mrs. Obama to move forward into finishing destroying members of the white race.

Arrogance and bigotry is destroying our once great nation. We let Bush lie to our county, kill in the name of our country. While your bigotry remains so deep rooted you let your country fail. It's no longer about SKIN,it's no longer about which party you belong to. It's about America, it's about our children and grand children. It's a Global world and we are no longer number One.

Two idiots were walking a road they happened to get lost into & one said to the other..."how do we find the right road out of here"? Then the other idiot said to the other "oh the way out is around the next corner". So they both ran as fast as they could up to & around their positive corner....& crashed into a wall & died.

The moral of this story is; "Never ask an idiot to cut corners for you"!

I can't understand why Cnn keeps this idiot on the air. He is totally unprofessional. Anyone with a different point of view is shouted at, interupted, and not allowed to speak. This moron needs to be firede and sent back to England but I guess they wouldn't wont this jerk either.

How dare you try and disarm me and my family and not allow me to protect myself. Many millions of law abiding US citizens own firearms and never misuse them. Alcohol kills many many more people than firearms, why don't you put your efforts in that area and save more people. Also why doesn't the US put more effort in helping the mentally ill.

I always disliked Piers and suspected he is an idiot and now I am sure he is. Go back to where you came from and spew your moronic opinions there.

Piers Morgan is an absolute joke and disgrace to journalism. His rantings on gun control are based on conjecture, hyperbole, demogoguery, and left-wing psycho-babble. Morgan doesn't even pretend to have an intelligent, reasoned and balanced discussion on the gun control issue (or any other topic for that matter). His show is nothing more than a vehicle to espouse his biased liberal agenda in the most unintelligent manner. Morgan does a great disservice to CNN.

If the principal had of had a gun at the school maybe more children would be alive today. At least they would have had a chance. When someone pulls a gun on you your only defense is to have a gun yourself. I'm sure the last thoughts of the adults were, ( if I only had a gun). This man Morgan has no right to lecture America. He is the idiot. The bottom line is, only a gun or possibly body armor, can protect you against a mad man with gun. Not a law or a medication, not lofty words or security systems, not self righteous indignation no not even Piers Morgan. Only a gun will protect.

Way to go CNN; why don't you have a moron from England comment on American political policy and ideology? Oh, that's right-you already do! And you wonder why you have the worst cable news ratings in this time slot?

The very existence and employment of people like Piers Morgan at CNN is exactly why I stopped watching CNN a long time ago, why we no longer monitor CNN in our military operations centers, and is why CNN is loosing market share. CNN has degenerated from a respected news outlet to a radical leftist activist organization.
Why don't they just get the inevitable over with and merge with MSNBC?

If Morgan would just answer this one question:
"Why do gun-toting nuts in the US attack schools, restaurants, and public buildings yet they have never once assaulted a police station?"
My answer: "Because that's the one place where everyone there has a weapon, knows how to use it, and is more than capable of defending themselves".

Let me guess,Morgan probably has armed security guards following him around. No wonder CNN has so few viewers they can be counted on one hand.Morgan never lets facts get in the way of a debate, its just shouting
    and name calling.Typical liberal BS.

I’m impressed, I need to say. Really not often do I encounter a weblog that’s both educative and entertaining, and let me let you know, you could have hit the nail on the head. Your concept is excellent; the difficulty is one thing that not sufficient individuals are talking intelligently about. I'm very comfortable that I stumbled across this in my search for one thing referring to this.
