Tonight: Cory Booker on Colin Powell and John Sununu

With 11 days until the general election, this evening Piers Morgan welcomes back Cory Booker for his trademark blend of candid commentary and insider's perspective.

A regular guest of "Piers Morgan Tonight," the Newark Mayor has discussed a wide scope of topics during previous visits, touching upon everything from gun laws, a recent speech made by Vice President Joe Biden, and the debt crisis.

Tonight however, the former Rhodes Scholar is expected to offer his reaction to recent remarks by John Sununu, who appeared on the program Thursday night.

Joining Morgan live, the former Governor of New Hampshire suggested that Colin Powell's endorsement of Barack Obama is based upon race.

Tune in tonight at 9 as Booker, himself also an African-American and Obama supporter, responds to Sununu's claims.

I completely have been disappointed lately with CNN, and the attack on Romney. As a long time CNN viewer, i have noticed Anderson being out of the closet now has lost his impartiality. Mr Morgan is so obviously against Romney, it's truly lack of journalism, or should I say consistent with not being from America. Of course Colin P is a good man, but yes he's voting for Barack because he's black...most black people are...which is so silly, pick the best person...C'mon Cnn step up to the plate.

Why are you voting for Romney? Because he is white? How short sighted. I am voting for the President because he stop the slide this country was in. I am voting for the President because his Healtcare bill cut my commute for care of preexisting conditions from 522 mi to 1/4 mi. I was a Hillary supporter and still have a great deal of love for her way of thinking. I also like McCain, until he added Palin. I was impressed with the Presidents mind and ideas not the color of his skin. Open your closed mine and do what is best for this country. Romney has never created jobs...never.......

How could you not have asked Sununu if he was endorsing Romney because he's white? Would have been a great last question to see him squirm while he thought of his answer.

Who will deliver this fire? Don't be so quick to committ the children of others to die for your hatreds. The President is on the right course. Lets work this out without war if at all possible. We have lost far to many of our young men and women on foreign soil. At the very end, if all else has fell, we can still use military force. Pray to my God, this does not happen....................

Talk about a bad case of follow the leader.

Nothing I ever studied in Political Science has prepared me for what I have been witnessing during this week of the Presidential Campaign

Earlier this week, former New Hampshire Governor John Sununu a member of the Romney Presidential Campaign denounced Gen. Colin Powell's endorsement of President Obama's reelection as President. Governor Sununu's remarked on CNN that Powell was endorsing Obama "because he is black." Today, former "maverick" Sen. John McCain R-AZ pounced on Gen. Powell for his endorsement and called for Powell's excommunication from the Republican Party.

Throughout this campaign, racism has been a significant undercurrent kept just below the surface, but publicly expressed with many "code words." Now it seems that the racism of Sununu and others are like a volcano that has to explode from time to time and this week has been the week of the racist volcano.

One would hope that we have come to a point in American History, emotional maturity and spirituality whereby racism, like polio had all but been eliminated from our lives.

If we don't eliminate racism from our politics now – when?

So, John Sunnu must think then, that by default voting for the white guy is also racially driven. I can't see him voting for an Asian transgender person, for example. He himself will always vote/endorse a person of 'his' crowd. So what, if Secretary Powell endorses one of his own???

I don't think Ann Coulter should comment on other people's stupid comments when she makes so many of her own!

Mr. Morgan, you are a pompous ace. Ann Coulter has more class and intellect in her little finger then you do in your entire body. She makes you look like a fool and your attempts to make her look racist make you very small. You push your opinions like some one cares what they are. You think you can make her look stupid? You are entirely out matched. As you can tell I am a racist. I don't like your Obama or you. There's your proof.

I agree with Ann Coulter on the "retard" comment. The context in which she used it was not mean't as a person with Downs Syndrome. She was simply implying Obama doesn't have a clue. I have often used the term "re re", but I never do it with ill intent. And to compare "retard" to the "n" word is laughable. I would never use the "n" word regardless of the situation because it has no other meaning. In addition, I would never refer to someone with Downs as a that would be direct implication of actual condition. Piers, spend your energy on something worthwile...such as the huge cover up that lost lives in Benghazi...a subject that actually warrants questioning.

Why would you as Coulter why she makes the outrageous statements, It's for the money , Just like when you kiss up to all these fake conservatives. They don't have any ideology ,It's just to fleece the sheep. Look what's happened since Reagan, they're robbers and thieves.Even knowing that the economy can't stand without people to by the crap they still syphon of all the money they can. The only way to keep a fair situation is to tax the hell out of these greedy people so that they don't get that incentative to pillage.

I disaprove very strongly of your guest Ann Coulter and would never purchase any thing she publishes. I do not care for the job Bush did as president but I would never disrepect him by calling him a retard and I think badly of her for calling our president any name. It does not do much for our country for others around the world to hear our president being called names and I think if that is the way she feels, she ought to find herself another country to live. I am American and respect our president and our flag.I also have a mentally challenged brother and have often heard him called a retard. I am a woman but women like her is shameful and will never get respect for others. Extremely Discusted

Pierce, just watched the segment with Cory Booker where you asked if Romney should denounce John Sununu. The correct question would have been "Do you think the Romney campaign sent Sununu out there to suggest that Obama represents a party of black people and that white people should be aligning themselves with republicans?"

    October 26, 2012 at 10:55 pm | Report abuse | Reply

Karan Sims you are right , it looks like Sununu works for Romney's campaign, and what a about the add that keeps coming on CNN prime time about a Hungarian Senior Citizen talking about having lived in a Socialist country ..Give me abreak! if USA is a socialist Country because it has been run by President Obama, then I want li live there forever .. (I am from México). Gush please there is a big confusion on meanings Democracy; SocIalism and Comunism. First USA is not a Soccialist CountrY .. some European countriEs have adopted socialism like France . that does not mean that the State gets in the middle of all the business there ! Nooo . THis old man use Socialist for Comunism , because that was the regime that East Europe had .. and that is what they fled from .. So beware enough lies are said while campaigning !!

When are you going to start demanding answers for the incompetance in handling the follow on assessment reported by the white house for weeks and weeks after the terrorist attacks? Journalism in this country has been lost on biased opining. Will credability ever matter again at CNN? The most trusted name in news. What a joke!!

Am I blind – I can't find one story, one article, one headline, one new story about the Impeachable offense of the White House denying aid to our Americans dying in Libya on the CNN site or on CNN live. Why are you not reporting this story. The Intelligence Community – of course they knew what was going on and sent this word to the White House where Obama & Biden were briefed on the situation. They were the ones who made the decision – not the Intelligence Community. Can't you see this is a huge cover-up! Obama then got a restful night sleep as our citizens were murdered and denied pleas for help. This was not the doing of the CIA, military – this was a direct order to "stand down" from the White House. Afterall, Obama could not be bothered as he was packing for Vegas and preparing for the View. Just really confused on why the mainstream media is not covering this gross offense – you should be outraged CNN – you should be demanding answers rather than blindly ignoring this injustice. You have a duty – Why are you protecting Obama – can you not understand or comprehend what he has done! Picture this – we have Americans pleading for help – they were told to stand down. They went anyway to protect Stevens and were brutally killed. Why will you not report on this – is it because we are days away from an election? This has nothing to do with an election – it has everything to do about Obama covering up to win an election. It has everything to do about watching our fellow Americans die. DO THE RIGHT THING CNN – DO YOUR JOB – REPORT THE TRUTH – ARE YOU JOURNALISTS OR ARE YOU SO LEFT YOU ARE BLINDED BY AN AGENDA YOURSELF. Stop the cover-up and start reporting on this IMPEACHABLE OFFENSE!
