"Piers Morgan Tonight" welcomes Rudy Giuliani from Ohio; Obama and Romney pen exclusive columns for CNN

With the general election four days away, on Friday "Piers Morgan Tonight" shines its spotlight on the key battleground state of Ohio.

Anchoring live from his studio in New York, Piers Morgan will welcome Mitt Romney surrogate and former GOP presidential candidate Rudy Giuliani from the “Buckeye State" for his perspective and insight into the final stages of the race for the White House.

Coming with a robust 18 electoral votes, common consensus says that to win the presidential election, a candidate almost certainly needs to win Ohio. Dating back to 1964, the Midwestern state has served as a microcosm for the nation, as in each election since the contest which saw Lyndon B. Johnson defeat Barry M. Goldwater, the candidate to capture Ohio landed himself in Washington roughly two months later. And as important as is the "Buckeye State" for incumbent Barack Obama, it's that much more critical for Romney, as no Republican has ever won the presidency without first winning Ohio.

With each of the two men campaigning across Ohio today, both Obama and Romney released opinion pieces that are running exclusively on CNN.com.

"America is a land of opportunity," declares Romney in his article. "But lately, for too many Americans, opportunity has not exactly come knocking."

As for Obama, he writes that "Change is an America that turns the page on a decade of war to do some nation-building here at home."

Read each of the above columns by the two men battling to lead the nation for the next four years, then tune in this evening at 9 as Piers Morgan receives an on-the-ground report from Giuliani in Oho.

Piers Morgan; CNN seams to be more interested in showing lineups at gas stations, rather than showing scenes of hydro workers fixing the lines and the problems they are facing in their task. To me, this would be more beneficial and would put to rest the concerns of people waiting for their electricity. If people saw where the crews were working, they would feel more secure that their turn is soon. Never mind the gas lineups, show us the progress being made to restore the electricity.

Pierce, the way you host this show makes us wonder what is your hidden agenda?

How would Giuliani know Obama's focus, hour by hour? Giuliani "spouted off" without any knowledge of how the President has spent his time the last two days, other than the few hours spent at a roster or in public meetings. What about his time enroute? What about the hours he spends between appearances and into the night? Why wasn't Guiliani stopped in his ranting and raving? Guiliani was "way off base"–saying that 100% of Obama's time since he left New Jersey has been spent campaigning for reelection. Following is evidence that the President is focused on the East Coast disaster: President Obama talked with the borough of Staten Island president. An interview with the borough president is on CNN now, and he is relating his discussion with President Obama to Anderson Cooper; he also said that what the President promised has come to fruition–progress is being made. It was very frustrating to watch Guiliani's "railroading" his unfounded opinions without being stopped or asked how he had knowledge of the President's thoughts and focus. Skilled interviewing requires more than just passively listening to this type of unfounded ranting.

I agree that the news should focus on what is being done to help all these people. However they do not have electricity to see whats really going on. Do not turn this into Katrina, or make it about the poor or wealthy. I live in Mass. and for days we were told to be prepared for days without power, to get prepared. I do not understand people who think the President or FEMA are magicians. The roads are blocked they are moving in and many did not evacuate who should have. I feel so badly for all the destruction and devastation they are facing and my heart goes out to all who lost lives, homes! It is sad! New reporters and politians please do not make this any uglier, My hearts go out to all of you and I think President Obama was told not to come to NY? He is certainly acting like a Commander in Cheif!

The President of the United States can't come to NY, because it would be too much of a distraction? What the hell kind of a distraction did the Mayor think the NYC Marathon was going to be????!!!!!!! F****** UNBELIEVABLE, People!!!!!! I LIKE Obama and believe that he needed to do more than just a photo op with Chris Christie, give a few hugs, then jet off to Nevada!!!! Did he really do that after the Benghazi consulate was attacked? Just don't understand it:-(. ...My prayers are with all of the victims.

I agree Giuliani(?) should have been stopped by some of his ridiculous claims. Blumberg did not want Obama to come to NY, bring that up Pierce & ask why G himself was out politically while his city was in need of his help, for what it would be worth, since he seemed to get credit for walking the street frantically after 9/11, he should at least give credit to someone else that is doing a decent job!

You let the Con ,today it was Gulliani, hyperventilate all over everyone without stopping them even when they start repeating themselves. Just try to be fair. Let the Lib speak alittle and stop the Con from shouting over them.

Rudy Giulliani does nothing but spout political bull. Look at reports from 911 about how much he knew and what he could have done to possibly make that a different outcome and he has the nads to blame everything about Benghazi on President Obama. I doubt he is in any loop today to get the classified information on this anyway.
In todays age of technology, you can be in Nevada and still be able to do your job and help to oversee a the recovery efforts in another state. Business men fly all over this country everyday and still get many things accomplished. The man is trying to keep his job.
This is the problem with politics today, supporters can say any bull they want about someone and cause all of this overblown hatred. President Obama cares about America, about Americans, about our jobs and about our well being. He certainly is very concerned about New Jersey, New York & Connecticut and working to help relief efforts. To not believe this is ignorant. You can disagree with his politics and that is fine, but we should not be turning this election into so much hatred. This goes for both parties.

It was a disgrace. Giuliani is out of control and Piers let him run his program. Piers gave him so much air time to rant and rave. I would expect that of FOX News but not from CNN. The lies that where running out of Guiulaini's mouth was of a crazy man desparate for the spot light. Why didn't Piers interject when he talked about the President not coming to NYC after the storm. It was Bloomberg that stopped the President from coming to NYC. That show was at the top on the list of one of the most disgusting displays of politcial BS! Guiliani you not only owe the President an apology but you owe the viewers one. Go play golf somewhere! Piers I can never watch another show of yours. You are done in my books

Piers: I have been disappointed by your relentless battering of the failure of the generators at NYU Langone and Bellevue Hospital. I think the time to be critical is not now in the heat of the battle to return to normalcy. This is counterproductive and not becoming of CNN – I almost thought I am watching Fox News. The Staff of both hospitals did a yeoman's job of getting the patients moved without any mishaps. Kudos to all of them! Please, please, please, stop attacking them on this issue. I am sure we will all be smarter and know that everything related to power generation should be above any potential water line. In fact, we face the same problems in our homes. One of the safety issues to be aware of is to not have a generator inside your home (to prevent carbon monoxide poisoning). So, it is tough to keep the generator way above the ground level for any home.

Agreed! In a time of crisis CNN is focusing more on what is not working instead of giving due attention to all the efforts to return normalcy to the stricken areas. Piers, however, has been the worst lot on CNN, coming off as a churlish blowhard, attacking those who are genuinely working to set things right, while allowing rabid Cons (Trump, Guiliani) to go on with their diatribes without journalistic intervention. CNN **** time to retire Piers*****

I agree, I just saw the interview where the former Mayor who seems to become a coward when he just ran off to another made up interview he have to do. He bashes Obama and then ran off. The point is this form Mayor, if you want to count bodies regarding 911 then count the bodies on your watch. The bodies on the former Mayor 911 head is unimaginable. The former Mayor seems to want to ask alot of questions to Obama so I want to ask a few to him since Piers is not asking the right questions back when he just goes off with his questioning. Why did he not pull out all the fire fighters and NYDP officers from the towers when he knew it was going to collapse? How did he know it was going to collapse before it did? Its kind of funny that he would know this when engineers did not even have a clue. If the public forgot, please google the live news feed where Rudy tells ABC one of the tower fell but it was still standing, this was live on the ABC. The public need to know who knew what before 911 happen. The other thing is why don,t we open a trial as to why did the government had so much wrong info before they declared a war that killed so many US soldiers, was the evidence that set off a war in Iraq altered by a republican backed agenda? If the people want to know about the truth regarding Benghazi then why stop there, lets hear the truth about 911, Iraq and Afganistan.

Romney asked people to donate food and clothing that the red cross could not even use, since they had no way to even deliver any of it to the victims of the storm. And when the General gets on there and say's how it really was in Libia then that idiot Giuliana bail's like a cat in a dog fight. When CNN cannot get a respected commentator to go live, they reort to two of the worst in American politics.

It is one of the reasons CNN is in the gutter. They've forgotten what it is to be 'the most trusted' news source. Now it is just cheap thrills.

Maybe Rudy, an ex-mayor of NYC, should divert his attention to helping NYC, instead of campaigning for Mitt Romney. It is such a pathetic and disgusting thing to say about President Obama. Just to remind Rudy, the President had offered to come to NYC, but was asked not to by the Mayor Bloomberg not to, a smart thing due to logistic reasons. Also, Piers Morgan, please do divert your show to highlist positive things and efforts happening in NY/NJ, instead of negative reporting and wasting valuable press time.

Tammy – You are so right that Mayor Bloomberg asked President Obama not to come to NYC because of the increased problems it would cause (taking rescue people, police, etc., away from their urgent duties, etc. due to the the problems caused by Sandy.
Why didn't Mr. Piers Morgan call Guilliani out on that?!! As a matter of fact, Piers didn't call him out on anything; just let him rattle off his lies!!! It is so frustrating and disgusting! A republican Mr G W Bush. He had people in the so called intelligence community telling their higher ups but what was done? It was made known the day of the attacks.

Rudy criticized the President for not coming to New York. Obama called NY officials early on after the storm to make arrangements to visit and survey the damage, same as he did with Gov Christy. Obama was told no, please don't come yet. Its too chaotic. If Rudy didn't know this, he appears uninformed. If he did know, the criticism is deceitful and inappropriate.

The decision to run the marathon was made by politicians prior to realizing the magnitude of Hurricane Sandy's destruction. You cannot provide generators for marathon runners when your residents do not have power. The decision should have been made earlier, not when the people brought this to their attention. The destruction has been on the news nightly. My sympathy goes out to all of the residents of the east coast.

Continuing to have a major event like the marathon after this natural disaster is completely different than having a major event after a terrorist attack or act of war. You cannot compare this to something Churchill would have done After an attack it is crucial to show the world how quickly we can recover. After a natural disaster that we have no control over we must concentrate on helping those that need it most. My $0.02.

I recall seeing May Bloomberg on the news who stateed that President Obama had contacted him and had wanted to come to new York but Mayor Bloomberg suggested the President to to New Jersey (which the President did do). Wow. So in the prior spot with Anderson Cooper we learn that President Obama, while on the campaign trail, was in a conference call with local officials making sure that their pleas for assistance were being heard and in this one we have Mr. Giuliani making accusations that the President has taken his eye off the ball. Sadly, I liked Mr. Giuliani and am disappointed with the rhetoric that I am hearing. I am one of those swing voters. A female that votes by issues not party. Mr. Giuliani and some of what I have seen over the last few days from the Romney campaign are definitely pushing me towards President Obama. Why? Mr. Romney said that President Obama failed in his job because he did not reach across the table and provide leadership by working together with Republicans. He indicated that he would. He has not. Mr. Christie has been criticized for doing just that. Mr. Christie acknowledged what "we the people" saw, that President Obama was there and does authentically care and is pushing for responsiveness. Mr. Romney took a higher than expected jobs report and said that the unemployment rate is higher now than before President Obama was elected. You mean higher than before the worst economic crisis since the Great Depression happened? Shocking! I personally have been trying to get a job for three years. I personally am affected by this situation. However, I personally am using my brain and assessing the fact that the sharpest financial minds have struggled to know how to fix this. I understand that this is going to take some time. I feel like Mr. Romney making statements like the one above highlight his naivete and cause great worry about his real ability to lead. I want to vote Republican this year. I wish they would stop talking me out of it.

9/11 could be prevented. Bush and he was friends of the Bin Laden and Saudis how did they not have known? Sandy could not be stoped 911 could have been stoped.

I never thought you will follow the baised mantra of the left media against anybody who is not a democrat. Last week in your interview with Ann Coutlier, you seem delighted to pin her down about her use of the word "retarded". Even though you know very well that the word is an old English that preceded the current offensive reinterpretation pushed by some interest group. Your arguement was based on some high moral value to protect the feelings of a group of people who may be harmed by the use of the word. If that is the case, how come you said nothing about President Oboma's use of "ROMNESIA" making light of people who suffer from the dreadful disease amensia. The same moral value should have been applicable in this case. In today's program, you had General Clark finish his piece and then while Mayor Guilliani was being interviewed you bring General Clark to ambush the Mayor. The Major to his credit smelled this from a mile and left after finishing what he wanted to say, depriving you the benefit of your little scheme.

Here, here!!! You would think these mindless idiots would just tune back to MSNBC if they only want to hear one agenda. Rudy was not lieing. The consulate was attacked twice before 9/11. Now if anyone could care less if Obama just maybe screwed up, then so be it. An American Ambassador and three others were murdered. Is it so much to demand if it could have been avoided? The good General never answered Rudy's question and simply demanded that "we wait" for the investigation to be finished – conveniently after the election. Come on, you people watch CNN! A CNN reporter found the Ambassador's journal THREE days after the attack! Does this not bother anyone? If the TRUTH is unimportant and Obama can do no wrong, then all of you are no better than those you criticize on the Right and those over at Fox News...Damn, I can't stand the Fox fanatics or the blind MSNBCers!!!

Maybe if Mr. Morgan had not done that you might have got some answer's, but bottom line is that there are more important things going on in this country right now then the moronic comments and lie's that Giuliana want's to spew on behalf of Romney. It's bad enough that we have to listen to Romney's lie's but to have a moron like Giuilana out there spreading more lie's when people are suffering is just inexcusable.

General Clark did not provide any "answers" to the many questions surrounding the events in Benghazi. He basically told the public to stop asking such pesky questions because apparently, "You can't handle the truth!" Incredibly patronizing.
As an Obama surrogate, he was not there to discuss Benghazi, but he could not resist returning to the camera to respond to Guiliani. I'll bet the campaign organizers are not pleased...

This hurricane is awful for the northeast, nothing that has been seen in years, but what about all the people in the west with fires, the drought in the midwest, etc. The president cannot be at every disaster and for Rudy to suggest that is just wrong. Bloomburg did not want him there, Christi did. Rudy needs to get over it and realize there are problems everywhere and yes those of us who live in the northeast feel this is awful and it is, but so isnt every other disaster. While it is understandable that the marathon date was set well in advance of Sandy, it should have been cancelled Monday night or Tuesday when all the devastation was finally able to be seen. With all the supplies they have for the marathon, I hope that what I've heard on Anderson 360 comes to fruition that the generators, port a potties and other items will be diverted to Staten Island. I'm sorry that some runners are unhappy, but I think that they should have realized how devastated the area was. One runner they spoke to was upset, but her reply was "we'll be back next year".

I understand the thought to raise money and awareness but it would simply over-burden a taxed system. I think that the reason for cancelling it is because there are people within the city that have not received assistance, there is a serious gas issue and taxing the situation further is irresponsible, there is a nor'easter on the way so there is an urgent timeline for some progress and hotels are full of people who no longer have a home to go to and would not be available for runners. Reaching the expanse of coastal areas that were affected does take time to facilitate and should be the focus and the priority. There was a plea going out from first responders on facebook saying that there is no energy among the city's responders to dedicate it toward the marathon with so many still needing help. Not to mention, they have not been able to care for their own families and homes because of helping everyone else. Fund-raising should probably be done in a different way when we still have people in need in the city.

Giuliani absolutely knows the facts when the subject is Benghazi and he is outraged along with many others members of Congress. But don't take Giuliani's word for it .... INVESTIGATE THE FACTS AND TIMELINES BACK TWO MONTHS PRIOR TO 9-11- 12 YOURSELVES! Thankfully, Giuliani is not afraid to speak up. After Wesley Clark's interview on the Benghazi investigation tonight, I have totally lost respect for him. How obvious that Clark is assisting the Obama administration in buying time, waiting until after the election to answer the damning questions regarding the murder of four brave Americans! Mr. Clark, I am shocked you are a SHEEP! Why don't you speak with Charles Woods, the grieving father of murdered Navy Seal Ty Woods? Why don't you ask the President for the cold hard facts? Why has the Obama administration not tried to gain access to the man connected to the Benghazi attack who is in custody to question him? Well, don't bother...Lindsey Graham took care of it for you. The FBI is now on the way to question him.

I do no understand former mayor Rudy Giuliani. Benghazi is a national security issue that is being handled by either the military or the Central Intelligence Agency or most likely both. It is never smart to go into detail about national security matters because you never know when the enemy is watching American news. There is more to the story about Benghazi, and former mayor Rudy Giuliani does not have the right type of information or authority to even speak about it on national television. He is obviously somewhat confused about security protocol.

What?? You must live a VERY SCARED life! Do you walk around afraid of litle men listening to your conversations & reporting them to the Police? With all due respect, Rudy Giuliani did not talk about ANYTHING that has NOT been talked about on the News for many days!! He did NOT threaten our National Security! So please be assured that he has not done anything to disrupt your little pathetic life. Calm down. Try watching some News Networks other than CNN, more than two, meaning three or more, is the best way to make an informed decision. Only watching one Network is the definition of ignorance & I know Americans do NOT want to be ignorant, they want to be informed, & able to make up their own minds once given the facts...like I said, that is acheived by watching MORE than ONE Network.

      November 3, 2012 at 1:16 am | Report abuse | Reply
      • Kelsey

I do not depend on networks for my information. I was raised in a military household, and I myself will be joining the Navy soon. Let me clarify, Americans do not need to know everything that goes on in the CIA, military, FBI, or anything that requires high security clearance. It is for their own protection. If you do not believe me, then join the military or CIA and you will understand that sometimes it is necessary to not display all the facts because you never know what the government is trying to protect our citizens from. All I am asking is that former mayor Rudy Giuliani have more faith in our system and try to appear more unified as a country instead of critizing the President who is doing the best he can. Why don't you run for President and see if you could do better? Its not as easy as it looks.

I am sorry, but what Piers Morgan did was completely unprofessional. You don't set up for Rudy for an interview, and then near the end, ambush him with Wesley Clark who has been listening, and seems to have talking points right from the Obama campaign. If a guy thinks he is interviewing with only you, you should not bring in Clark and make it a 2 on 1. Reminds me of Crowley in the debates and reeks of media bias. The President did really need to do more in this tragedy than just a photo-op with Christie, no matter what side you are on.

You're in the minority here, you realize that. Incidentally, if Piers was doing his job, he would have cold Rudy out on his lies, stopped his verbal diarrhea and there would have been no need for Wesley Clark to return for a rebuttal. People who tell blatant lies don't usually like being called out on them...that is why he fled like a spoilt brat.

That is why you can afford to have lunatics like Guiliani and Trump come on your show and release these venomous diatribes without calling them out on it. If you call yourself a journalist – which designation you do not deserve – your are OBLIGATED to call out falsehoods and blatant attempts by your guests to mislead the viewers. This is not the Rush Limbaugh show and your performance over the last couple of weeks has been deplorable! CNN – understand this is not journalism; this is tabloid reporting.

No one appreciated Guilliani's rant tonight and running off at the end when it came to a response from the General who knows what he is talking about really shows it was just an uninformed rant. Why is Guillani even in Ohio, why is Mitt Romney???? Could they both be of some help in NY, NJ? No they are just going on with their sell and lies and and not helping at all. Obama does not have to stand is the street to be on top of things, he has a massive force which he deployed there and I am sure he is keeping on top of it. Guillani is just using it all to attack Obama. Guillani should not have had any air time for this rant with no facts. For Mitt Romney and Guillani to sue this disaster for their own use is really sleezy.

Way to go Rudy!! Finally someone on this Network telling the TRUTH!!!! CNN & other Liberal Media networks are too afraid to step on Obama's toes!! Get a backbone & tell the REAL STORY!! I am glad that RudyGuilliani had enough courage to confront you & say on National television that you, Piers & your Network are failing to search out the TRUTH about the four dead Americans in Bengazi. Too many Americans listen to liberal Networks & get slanted, biased News, As for me, I listen to three Networks & make up my own mind. Amazing how little searching is done by News Networks if the story will result in a "bad view" of our President. The liberal Networks would rather drop the story than "go after" the TRUTH!! SHAME ON YOU CNN!! I thought News casters had determination in their blood, I was wrong,,Liberal News casters like the ones at CNN sure don't...

First of all, no one knows what is going on with Benghazi, unless you were either apart of it or you have some inside access to Intelligence such as the President. It may seem like the Democrats are hiding something, but the one thing about national security is that the facts are sometimes twisted by the CIA or the military because if Americans knew the truth about everything, it would put our country at risk. You may disagree with me, but I believe that Americans are better off not knowing everything, because if we all did, the enemy would figure out our security strategies and everyone would be in serious danger. I would advise not to even speak about this topic unless you have been directly affected, and if you have, contact the government, but do not speak about it in public.

Another Fox news Zombie convinced about a 'liberal bias' in the media, but you're a hypocritical FOX News junkie who will only listen to a news channel which has a blatant conservative agenda. Why is it that FOX news refuses to report anything about a national disaster happening on our own soil where more than 100 Americans died, but finds it more important to report the attack in Libya? You've been poisoned, and it's a real shame that many other people such as you have fallen suspect to the ill will of the FOX propaganda machine. It's destroying our country. Why does the ex-mayor purport to know what Obama is doing 24/7? He claims that Obama is not handling the storm appropriately because he is focusing on his campaign tour. Logically, Obama could go to every single state that was damaged, but he cannot physically repair the damage. Instead of standing and looking and offering sympathy, he has found a better way to assist a number of people. FEMA is the group of people who will repair the damage. Obama's presence in the damaged area, at most, will place him in the spotlight which will allow him to obtain more glory and praise on how he is handling the situation. Obama is juggling many things at once. He has to correct lies, combat conservatives, and tend to Sandy's victims. He is having his White House respond to calls within 15 minutes. He is personally taking calls from governors. He frequently contacts FEMA. What more can he do besidego to the east cost and put on waders and gloves and pick through ruble for hideous surprises? Americans have been struck by a gargantuous storm. Obama wants to help and he will be able to provide more assistance upon re-election. His campaigning may lead to a win which will allow him to provide even more help.

Giulliani had no idea what the president was doing. After I watched him get schooled by General Clark, I saw Chris Christie post on twitter that he just got off the phone with Obama. Sounds like he's splitting time to me. Coming straight from Romney's guest convention speaker.

Piers is a right-wing apologist. No informed newsman would have let so much disinformation go unanswered, and then allow the bloviant to end the discussion by charging off. Rudy stated nothing but idiotic questions to factlessly implicate Obama in a non-exceptional event. Cases in point:

June 14, 2002, U.S. consulate in Karachi, Pakistan
Suicide bomber kills 12 and injures 51.

February 20, 2003, international diplomatic compound in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia
    Truck bomb kills 17.

February 28, 2003, U.S. consulate in Karachi, Pakistan
Gunmen on motorcycles killed two consulate guards.

July 30, 2004, U.S. embassy in Taskkent, Uzbekistan
    Suicide bomber kills two.

December 6, 2004, U.S. consulate in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia
Militants stormed and occupied perimeter wall. Five killed, 10 wounded.

March 2, 2006, U.S. consulate in Karachi, Pakistan
Suicide car bomber killed four, including a U.S. diplomate directly targeted by the assailants.

September 12, 2006, U.S. embassy in Damascus, Syria
Gunmen attacked embassy with grenades, automatic weapons, and a car bomb (though second truck bomb failed to detonate). One killed and 13 wounded.

January 12, 2007, U.S. embassy in Athens, Greece
A rocket-propelled grenade was fired at the embassy building. No one was injured.

July 9, 2008, U.S. consulate in Istanbul, Turkey
Armed men attacked consulate with pistols and shotguns. Three policemen killed.

    March 18, 2008, U.S. embassy in Sana'a, Yemen
Mortar attack misses embassy, hits nearby girls' school instead.

    September 17, 2008, U.S. embassy in Sana'a, Yemen
Militants dressed as policemen attacked the embassy with RPGs, rifles, grenades and car bombs. Six Yemeni soldiers and seven civilians were killed. Sixteen more were injured.

Embassies are dangerous places. The courageous peacemakers who man them know the hazards they face in their attempt to bring peace to a troubled world. Rudy is a coward not fit to speak their names, and Piers is an enabler. Shameful, if they had any.

NYC is already a traffic nightmare on normal days. The president shows up and everything comes to a standstill. Now add to that this devastation from Sandy, when NYC is stretched to the limit with recovery and cleanup, and Rudy wants Obama to hang out in the city. He'll use countless police to stop traffic send security. He'll use firefighters for the same. Rudy doesn't remember this from his terms in office?
Furthermore, the president can't airbag forever in NY, NJ, and CT holding hands. The governors of those states are very capable. The president has shown his availability for support by releasing fuel.
Rudy go back to your republican party and unless you have something smart to say, keep your opinions to yourself!

I guarantee you if Mitt Romney wasn't going to campaign, lie, bash, deceive, lie, deceive, lie, etc... for the next 4 days that Obama would be in NYC and Staten Island instead of having to defend himself in the last days of what YOU KNOW is a critical election.

It was one of the most appalling interviews I have ever seen. Rudy Guiliani was so out of line with his criticisms of The President and his handling of Sandy, I was profoundly offended. How dare he presume to know what The President was thinking or what he is doing to help the victims of this horrific tragedy. It is obvious that he has lost his multi-tasking capabilities and can't imagine that anyone else take care of business without being present. The President didn't actually pull the trigger to end the life of Osama bin Laden but he was at the helm. Did Guiliani expect The President to pump out water from the subways? Did he know that Janet Napolitano was on Staten Island yesterday - do you think that The President might have had something to do with it? His disrespect of General Wesley Clark was nothing short of shock and awe. General Clark was in a much better position to answer a former mayor's questions about benghazi but, like a petulant child who knows his team is about to lose the game, he throws down his bat and runs away. I think it is the first time that I have ever spoken directly to my television. Shame on you, Rudy. What a disappoint you've turned out to be.

As a Canadian interested in American politics, I too was disgusted by the hypocritical, ill-informed and rude comments of Rudy Giuliani in respect to President Obama's attention the post storm crisis in the city of New York and the way he dealt with the embassy situation in Benghazi, Lybia. Giuliani was especially disingenuous when he was called on his comments by Ret. General Wesley Clark and then impolitely retreated from the interview.

As so many commentators have expressed here, I was also greatly disappointed in PIers for not challenging Giuliani's raving assumptions, but then perhaps there was more merit to this than it first seemed ... Piers Morgan simply gave Giuliani all the rope he needed to hang himself in front of millions of voting viewers, which is evidenced by the content of the many eloquent expressions of opinion above.
