Oscar Pistorius on being a role model: "I think it's a massive blessing"

On Saturday evening, "Blade Runner" Oscar Pistorius sat down with Piers Morgan in studio for an engaging and inspiring interview. The South African Olympic and Paralympic sprinter shared his thoughts on being a role model. "I think it's a massive blessing," said Pistorius. "And, obviously, being an international sportsman, there's a lot of responsibility that comes with that."

"I see a child and he's staring at my prosthetic legs, often the parent turns the kid away," observed Pistorius. "And they develop a mentality of kind of shying away from disability and not being educated about it. And I think that's what creates the difficulty in society."

Pistorius also talked about his attitude towards competition which he credits to his family. "Sport is not about being the best, but it's about giving your best," said Pistorius, quoting his mother. "Losing isn't the one that gets involved and comes last, it's the person that doesn't get involved in the first place."

Watch the clip and listen to the interview as Pistorius shares with Morgan tips on how to impress young runners and their "good-looking" mothers at the same time.

    Mr Morgan
Oscar Pistorius lives in South Africa. This is a very dangerous country. You are heartless to say that Oscar faked his tears in the television interview. I do not understand how a person that lives in a save country and have both his legs thinks he have a moral right to judge a man whom he knows nothing about. I'm sick and tired of the media ripping peoples lifes apart with there statements just because they can.
I've always respected you and loved to here what you got to say but sadly this has changed for me.
I lost all respect for you and I'm fully aware that you will not care because a man that openly kicks a man while he is down must be heartless.
I promise to pray for you and hopefully you will find your back to truth and a Godly Judges and not just following the bloodthirsty crowd.
    From a disappointed fan
