This evening, "Piers Morgan Tonight" welcomed former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani to offer his candid insight and unique perspective on the U.S. Ambassador to the U.N. Susan Rice.
Earlier today, Rice withdrew her name from consideration for Secretary of State saying "the confirmation process would be lengthy, disruptive, and costly - to you and to our most pressing national and international priorities. That trade-off is simply not worth it to our country."
"I see that [Rice's withdrawal] as good news for the President," Giuliani began, "because a battle to get her confirmed would have offered the perfect opportunity to open up this whole Benghazi thing, where no answers have yet been given."
As Giuliani watched Rice make the rounds on the morning shows he couldn't believe what he was hearing. "When she said it, I uttered an expression that I can't say on television. It starts with a b. Bull –. I didn't believe it ... I said, 'is this woman out of her mind? What is she talking about, a spontaneous attack?'"

Rich, Rudy is just an opportunist making a mountain out of an ant hill, for political reasons. We invaded Iraq because of truly misleading information under the Republicans. They should be tried for crimes against humanity for all the lives, ours and theirs that were lost because of their lying. That Susan Rice did not mention terrorism at that early stage did not cost a single casualty, did not matter one bit. Just a Republican talking point.

I care! Rudy is one of those guys that always speaks his mind and he is most often on target. Too many are drinking the Obama Kool Aid. The Bengazi thing was poorly handled and RG is correct; the Rice confirmation would have made the admin look bad and given this event the spotlight once more – we still have few answers from the admin on this. Also, Susan Rice does not have the best of track records. A poor choice from the start. This is not about party politics. HC has done a good job and will be a tough act to follow.
A LITTLE REMINDER FOLKS....great to be able to share your thoughts..we love it..But...it's a good idea to put them through your own brain first...takes some of the sting out of your response and ends up more like dialogue...like civilized people learned how to do hundreds of years ago...it works..... and no one winds up DEAD. Less than half a day. That's how long the attack and the response lasted, the CIA was in, got the people out and they were on a plane. The President didn't release all information known to the CIA during an ongoing national security investigation. We know far more detail about Benghazi today than we know about 9-11 twelve years ago. That the press keeps pumping this nonstory shows where the true bias in the press lies. Bought and paid for and they seem proud of it. They do anything to keep from stating the facts during these Republican press releases. They won't ask a hard question like "Is it proper for the President of the United States to release information relating to a National Security Investigation during that investigation?". Bush hid behind that for eight years, but Obama can't have TWO WEEKS. Get a life.

Our Country is terribly divided as evidenced with, there is no right or wrong. Susan Rice is a very assertive, bright, highly educated woman and to compound the situation, she is black. Many men fear women such as Susan Rice. She proved to be better and smarter than they are and withdrew. Why is Susan getting the blame for Benghazi? Where is the Intelligence Committee?

Have not heard anyone "blame" her for Benguazi. I think the GOP has jumped on her because she at best horribly judged the events or at worst blatantly lied to us about said events. The fact that she is black has never been brought up other than by race-baiting leftists, who choose to ignore the fact that the last GOP secretary of State was both black and a woman.

Let us not forget that our last two Sec of State have been women and one black. Not sure where you get your data on Susan R but her track record is poor. A friend worked for State in Nigeria and she was his boss. He viewed her as incompetent, political and divisive. When her name was first floated for the job two "think tanks" responded with poor reviews of her past performance. The confirmation hearings would have been bad for the admin and not a positive experience for her as well. Poor choice from the start. Perhaps they should bring back Connie Rice.

Giuliani is 100% right. Rice and Hillary are an embarrassment. Who cares about their education and degrees? They are absolutely unqualified for the jobs they have. US foreign policy is a joke! This country within the last few years became totally irrelevant in the world thanks to people like Rice.

What is this thing about Fox. First, I am not thrilled with any of the MSMedia. But: Fox is #1. Fox is #1 with both R's and D's, women, blacks, hispanics and 19 to 29 age group. Fox voted "most trusted". In the past year Fox gained three more share points over #2 ranked CNN. While being #1 does not necessarily mean you are the best – the market has spoken and more people feel good about Fox than any of the other choices.
FOX has higher ratings because they are not a cable station, therefore free.
We will never know what really happened to over there.

Some observations: All politicians are opportunists. They are only classified as such when there position disagrees with one's own. Why the Bush Administration gets bought into ever argument should not be done. Bush has not been in office for almost one complete term. In some areas; meaning Afghanistan, we deal with carry overs from then. They however do not excuse the present administration for its mistakes. Name calling should be beneath all. I realize this is an internet forum.
