Tyler Perry on politics, and attack ads: "A lot of things [are] smoke and mirrors ... it's all about let's hide the facts"

Coming up this evening at 9, "Piers Morgan Tonight" welcomes Tyler Perry for a candid and emotional primetime interview.

Joining Piers Morgan face to face, the actor, writer, and director behind the "Madea" films franchise shares his personal perspective on the upcoming general election, in particular political attack ads which he feels are fueled with misdirection:

"Unfortunately, I just, being in the business that I'm in, which is show business, I realize that a lot of things [are] smoke and mirrors, a lot of it is dust and let's hide the facts," says the 43-year-old star of "Alex Cross." "I think that most Americans, if you - before you vote, you should - you should become as educated as you can about both, you know, President Obama and the candidate and make your choice there."

Named the highest paid man in entertainment by "Forbes" in 2011, Perry cites a lack of transparency as a concern within the current political climate:

"I think it's all about let's hide the facts, let's bury the facts as best we can. And the way you do that is with all these negative ads. And then pretty soon, you start hearing them and you go - and you think, 'well, is that true?,'" he explains to the "Piers Morgan Tonight" host. "Most times, people don't have the time to go and actually - actually fact check. And that's what a lot of people are counting on."

Watch the clip, and listen to the interview, then tune in this evening at 9 as Perry details a complicated relationship with his father, and explains the challenges he faced along a path to tremendous success.

I was watching Tyler Perry talking to Pier Morgan about his money . I said to myself: how touching and humiliating for me a mother of two with the only salary of $ 35.000 can even make it with past due on my car payment my kids school payment my mortgage car insurance phone bill water & electricity sometimes . Like today's is my payday I can even buy ice cream or go to a movie with my kids while they still on their Christmas vacation . I wondered how to survive and the same time make it . I have to force them to watch tv or go to sleep. Because I didn't have a penny to my name on my payday due to overdrawn fees. This is so sad & sickening to bear with as a mother . I will ask for Tyler Perry to pray for me & my family that one day will be able to pay our bills on time & also be able to make my dream come true just like your mother wanted for you to become. May god bless you.

Piers asked Perry if there was something he would do over if he could. Tyler responded that if he could, he would go back to those last few moments as his mother was dying and listen to her. I share that experience. I was so focused on pressing the doctors to do what they could to save her, that it drowned out the words she was trying to whisper to me. These may be the deepest kinds of regret. Tyler, just know that God was in those moments, too. And someday, we will know all we desire to know from them when we see them again.

Mr Perry's story is so encouraging, and Piers probed deeply most of Tyler's responses. However, 3 or 4 times Perry mentioned "a strong faith in God." Personally, I wanted to know just what it was Mr Perry meant by 'a strong faith in God." Never once did Piers ask, "What do you mean by 'a strong faith in God'?" Maybe next time. I'm curious.

"There is no Deal on the Fiscal Cliff! The Scoundrel Obama knows it. Give him 50% of what he asks now, and he'll want to change it again in two weeks time. Quote: After weeks of uncertainty, bluffing and posturing in Washington D.C., the Senate voted in the early hours of Tuesday morning to avoid the "fiscal cliff" of tax increases and spending cuts. However, the fiscal bargaining is far from over and more budget drama is likely on the way.

The deal brokered by Vice President Joe Biden and Senate Republican Leader Sen. Mitch McConnell of Kentucky would raise income taxes on single earners with annual incomes above $400,000 and married couples with incomes above $450,000. Unquote.

Who is the Piers Morgan? Is he a US Citizen? If he is not whay does he have this platform to argue about American politics? We don't need some guy from britian here trying to inflame things. He can't vote! It a shame CNN would promote this just for ratings.

Piers, if you don't vote you don't matter! Go Home!
