As Monday represented exactly one month since the tragic mass shooting in Newtown, Conn., "Piers Morgan Tonight" marked the sad occasion by continuing to encourage a national conversation on guns, firearm legislation, and school safety.
Joining the program for a live, primetime interview, television host and victim rights advocate John Walsh sat down with Morgan to discuss guns and specifically assault weapons.
The creator and host of the iconic television show "America's Most Wanted" told Morgan that although he's is a hunting enthusiast, he only uses shotguns and pistols.
"I don't need an AK-57," said Walsh. "I don't need an Uzi. I don't need a Mac 10. I don't need a 50-bullet clip when I go out quail hunting."
Later in the program, actor and writer, Rob Lowe joined the program to talk about his new role as attorney Jeff Ashton, the man who unsuccessfully prosecuted Casey Anthony on a charge of murdering her daughter in 2011.
"I'm a father. I have got two kids. Child neglect is an unthinkable thing. And child murder is off of the scale," said Lowe about Anthony and his interest in participating in the television project.
"It's my personal opinion that she absolutely had something to do with her daughter's death," said Lowe. "I don't know if it was an accident or premeditated. That I don't know to this date. But there is no doubt within my mind at all that she is responsible."
The new TV movie, "Prosecuting Casey Anthony" airs this Saturday at 8 p.m. on Lifetime.
Watch the clip and listen to the interviews as Morgan and his guests continue their discussion on gun control and other important issues of the day.
