READ about Piers Morgan's long career in journalism here.
Coming up this evening at 9, "Piers Morgan Tonight" welcomes a guest whom the host introduces by simply saying "he's honest, he's funny, candid and completely, gloriously unpredictable." The gentleman in question – who joins Piers Morgan in studio for a primetime interview – is the infamous Charlie Sheen.
Two years since the actor's last appearance on the program, which came amidst a whirlwind period of media attention and public scrutiny as part of his leaving CBS's "Two and a Half Men, tonight Sheen opens up about another well-known Hollywood partygoer, actress and recording artist Lindsay Lohan.
Having worked together on the film "Scary Movie 5," Sheen details the circumstances behind a rather large sum of money he passed along to the 26-year-old.
"Why did you give Lindsay Lohan $100,000?" asks Morgan.
"I thought I was going to get it back," jokes Sheen. "No, no, no. It wasn't about that."
In truth, the money was simply to cover the fee that Lohan was promised, but not paid, for her work on the movie:
"They shorted her 100 [thousand dollars] on what I thought they were going to, so I made up the differences, that's all it was."
Noting that Lohan and Sheen have shared some similar experiences, the "Piers Morgan Tonight" host wonders if they've ever compared notes:
"You know, she was very famous, very young, and she's clearly struggled with that," begins Morgan. "And with various demons, alcohol, drugs and so on. Can you actually, even you, give somebody like that advice?"
"The only thing that I was saddened about...if she'd asked me questions about some of my own stuff, I would have gladly given her advice. But she didn't, and I found that interesting. Maybe she didn't want to bother me or...didn't want to pry."
Watch the clip, and listen to the interview, then tune in this evening at 9 for the full interview, as Sheen opens up about his feelings on guns in America, as well as Lance Armstrong, and his current relationship with CBS' Chuck Lorre, the man who fired him.

I believe Lindsay was being courteous to Charlie by not asking him about his drug and drink problems, the woman simply didn't want to pry because she knows EXACTLY how it feels when people examine every minute of your life. Charlie seems like a good guy.
Lets get honest first please.
Good job on the gun issue. Stopping the war on drugs would result in the largest decrease in deaths (not one of Obama's ideas.)
The AR 15 with a 100 round magazine should be licensed to feral hog hunters – you can come over a hill face to face with 50 or 100 unpredictable hogs – it is them or us at that point. "Vital shok" and "personal protection" ammo is a good idea then as well.
Welcome change Piers LOVE charlie nice break from those gun crazies
Watching Charlie Sheen shift endlessly during this interview reminded me of Michael J Fox, before he announced he had Parkinson disease.
I like Charlie Sheen. He reminds me of my youngest son, when he was a teenager; said exactly what he thought., taking drugs and full of himself. When my son was 19, he was arrested and went to prison for 4 years and 3 months. He's been out almost two years and he is thriving. He learned from his mistakes.
Changed my life; did something to my heart.
