READ about Piers Morgan's long career in journalism here.
Tonight, Sen. Kelly Ayotte talked to Piers Morgan about Secretary of State Hillary Clinton's testimony at the Benghazi hearings earlier today. There "is still so many questions that went unanswered and frankly some unsatisfactory answers," the Republican senator said.
Clinton said "she was clear eyed about the dangers and threats in Eastern Libya but then she said that 'I didn't see any of the security requests,' which were multiple, coming from the consulate," the New Hampshire senator began. "If you are clear eyed about dangers and threats from Eastern Libya, why weren't you asking the questions about 'do we need more security?'"
Ayotte's concern lies with how situations like the attack on the consulate in Benghazi, Libya are handled in the future:
"When we address what happened here and going forward, we also better address, how are things communicated up the chain of command and why, when you know you're clear eyed about the danger, do you not ask 'have their been additional request?'"
Watch the clip, and listen to the interview, as Ayotte explains why she was unsatisfied with Clinton's answers today.

That this person is a U.S. Senator is all we need to know about the state of affairs this country has reached. My, how the mighty have fallen and she's a perfect example of that standard. Her faux grandstanding is appalling at best and she doesn't have a clue except for what has been fed into her insipid brain.
Head in the sand there mrjones – this lady wants answers and all Hillary and the administration have done is lie and cover up – something more heinous obviously you simple minded twit.
I am getting sick and tired of Pears Morgan trying to ram his opinions down our throats! I tune in to here BOTH sides of very important world events...not his viewpoint.....and, his bad manners to those guests on his show who don't agree with him...rude rude rude...I just can' t watch his show anymore....wish CNN would replace him with someone who cut ally moderate the show so we could learn different sides of a story!!!!
Is this not the American way to try to disgrace some one who was not responsible for what took place but let Bush get away with the killing of over 5000 in Iraq and killing over 2 millions innocent people by his lies looking for WMD. Are you going to call for an enquire?
Name calling is not helping the debate. And if you watched the hearing, many questions are to have written responses. But, for some, nothing will due because they are so busy hating on anyone who is not a member of the Tea Party.
CalFred: When will you ask Bush to take the stand?
No, you don't want answers. You made up your minds long ago that there was some cover up or other motive. Keep believing it if it makes you feel good. Do you believe the same about Bush? Did he use the WMD as an excuse to go to war and make the "boys" some money? Were WMD used to cover up the real reason we wanted to get the war machine moving.
Is someone sick and tired of a commentator trying to ram down opinions? Is anyone hear also complaining of Mr. Rush Limbaugh?
BTW – piers is just there to tick people off and draw fire.
Why because he asks the needling question?
CNN Founder Ted Turner: “A total world population of 250-300 million people, a 95% decline from present levels, would be ideal.” You think these people care about life?
Your both right, she does not have any more information about the actual situation than Hillary Clinton. Hillary made some very important points which Sen.Ayotte failed to mentioned,no suprise.Ms. Clinton's point about the dead Americans was very important, because the issue was that , their job was to make it STOP,not to worry at that point as to who did it. Any resposible government takes the time to find the real truth, not the "truthers" version before jumping to rash conclusions and acting irresposibility. You don't run out and start shooting people and screaming terrorists, even when it turns out it might be,cause you might you might just be wrong.
Typical Democrat apologist. They care about nothing but their socialist agenda even as people die.
AGENDA? Like the Republicans did not have an agenda 2years before the election? Like they don't have an agenda now? They are thinking 2016 elections and "just in case Hillary Clinton decides to run". I am , by no means, disputing that the Democrats have an agenda as well. The entire govt. is about agendas which is WHY we can't get any work done. Both Senate and House have taken the tax dollars of working Americans to pay their salary and have done NOTHING! If we tried to get paid for doing nothing, we wouldn't have a job! I wish their paychecks could be held...no work=no pay! THEIR pay should be based on performance....not posturing.
Did Bush ever apologize for causing thousands of men and women to lose their lives fighting against weapons of mass destruction that never existed? Oh, he relied on the intelligence he was provided.
Bush lied to the American people. Why was he not tried for war crimes in our US court for the death of over 4000 pluse people and killing over million innocent Iraqis.
Mrjones: where were you when Bush and Chaney lied to us? Where were you when over 4000 body bags returned? Where was the media not exposing these lies? Fox News stirred the war for its rating.
You are exactly right, Mr. Jones! The republicans do not contribute anything; they just cut down anyone else
with a different opinion..... I thought Hillary did splendidly!
I agree. The Tea Party did us a service by pointing out the national debt caused by Bush's irresponsibility, but this wild fringe drama is from the theater of the absurd. How is all this going to look ten years from now? Does the GOP not see that they are being set up like a bowling pin when people like Kelly Ayotte, Scottie Hughes and Dana Loech speak? Do they not realize that Obama won handily, and if he had been white, he would have won by a landslide? If the GOP hopes to even survive, they will have to get these Tea Party folks calmed down.
Update on Senator Shaheen's Investigation of Senator Ayotte:
Google: Did AG Eric Holder Shutdown the Investigation of Senator Ayotte
Why doesn't Piers spend more time in his own country trying to promote his utopian views, rather then coming here to spout his rhetoric? Maybe he should be asking himself why the euros never put a man on the moon; let alone save the world from more than one tyrant.
Read the comments about Piers from the English media during the gun debate. They don't want him in England.
So the fact that this administration lied and sought to cover up incompetence at the least doesn't seem to both many in the media. Four Americans died and the administration that vowed to find out what went wrong has done very little. A mere 15 years ago the media would at least ask hard questions. Now they mock the House for daring to. Sad.
OTOH, rumors among the military are that this was a botched effort to stage an election surprise. Might explain why they were told to stand down.
Riiiiiigh, JPO.... so the US Government hired terrorists and ordered them to attack their own personnel, and told the Army to not interfere and then went around lying about what happened and didn't.
Oh my, let's also get grey man, invisible helicopters and the argument the President is soviet, and we'll have another excellent conspiracy theory.
Nevermind there 14 attacks to US embassies and consulates since 2002, this has to be the one ordered by its own government. Oh no, unless..... NOOO..... perhaps all the other attacks were cover-ups too! By Area 51!
This comment hits on so many levels. My faith in the internet is rejuvenated, thank you for setting me up for another letdown later on!
Don't be absurd. That would never happen. There were no real terrorists. There was no real attack. It as all staged and the video footage generated by the Obama campaign graphics department. Heck, you don't know anything. You probably think Area 51 is just an old useless base and that a tinfoil hat won't protect you from "them".
"Truther" at it again, boy they are unreal.
Bush killed more American and innocent people than any US people in our history?
One of the better questions asked in the hearing was "Why did the Ambassador go to Benghazi?" If he had requested so much extra security, why would he go there when he knew it wasn't well protected. It wasn't the embassy–just an outpost. That's a question that will never be answered. Hillary Clinton was busy performing her duties world wide. It isn't unusual to think she would not necessarily be reviewing all the requests that come into the State Department. Kelly Ayotte is just trying to get her name noticed.
GOP has had nothing but questions since day one – what they are really complaining about is that they are not getting the answers they want. The GOP has questioned everyone from the Leader of CIA, Joints Chief of Staff, State Staff, Agents, Underlings, Susan Rice, and Now Clinton, and their witch hunt has borne no fruit – Their misguided attempt at once again attempting to embarrass POTUS has gone the way of the GOP over the last 4 years, NOWHERE!!!. Take care of the business of the American People and and stop wasting everyone time with made up conspiracies.
She's right. Piers is jumping the gun and being dramatic. I cannot believe the Secretary of State actually stated under oath today (and this is not an exact quote) something to the effect of....we have four dead Americans and what difference does it make how they died, whether it was because of a protest or because of guys out for a walk one night who who decided they'd go kill some Americans. What difference, at this point, does it make. Sharp response, but dumb answer as the US Secretary of State. I am the wife of a soldier, and it makes a big difference to me because I'd like to know that my government will go to great lengths to protect its citizens and soldiers, here in the US and abroad. Clearly, it all went wrong in Benghazi. The government owes it to those who died in Benghazi and to those who put their lives at risk at US Embassies or Consulates elsewhere in the world to learn from Benghazi so we are best prepared for future attacks.
I believe you missed the point Hillary Clinton was trying to make. We already know the HOW, the Accountability Review Board submitted the findings of their investigation as to the ppl responsible for communication failure on the US end, The point she was trying to make was they need to focus on the SOLUTION to make sure this never happened again. To keep going over and over the "talking points" provided by the Intelligence community is an exercise in futility. Focus on the solution was what Clinton was trying to get across.
And then there were all the questions that weren't asked: like why was the CIA blindsided? Ms. Ayotte cotinues to fail to impress. Just another Republican, after all.
It's astonishing that Republicans continue to push this dead end conspiracy theory. It has no traction with the electorate other than the finge, and infuriates the rest of us more concerned about domestic issues than the security policies of a war torn country like Libya.
The lady doth protest too much, methinks. Hillary's protestations that the manner in which the four men died, making no difference, are obfuscation and deceptive of her complete failure to manage either the response and her complete incompetence to respond to an assault on our sovereign ground. Her inaction and subsequent evasions are particularly offensive to the memory of those who perished and I'll warrant damned little comfort to their families. Her complete abdication of duty in response to Obama's alleged orders to his National Security Director to provide every means of assistance to the besieged embassy staff indicates either he lied or the alleged response would have been counter to the web of lies he spun attesting to the American people that Al Qaeda was decimated. We should never forget the miserable betrayal of the embassy staff in the time of their greatest peril. Her feigned emotion over the returning bodies is insulting to their honor. Would that Sen Paul had held higher office, she should have been cashiered from position if not found guilty of dereliction of duty. She is a shame to the nation.
I suppose Sen. Ayotte needs to let the rest of her caucaus know that she is on their side, but her grandstanding is not impressive. I don't think some in Congress would be satisfied with any answers. One can have a little sympathy with Sen. McCain as he was apparently a friend of Ambassador Stevens, but Ayotte and Paul are just trying to keep relevant.Of course no cabinet Secretary reads every urgent email that is received in their offices, I'll be Paul and Ayotte don't read everything marked urgent that comes into thier offices either. Secretary Clinton has moved with great dispatch to implement recommendations from an independent commission to correct the problems at State. I have seen no effort on the part of Republicans in Congress to do the same for the part they played in this tragedy. Sen. Paul may have political aspirations, but he would have to do a lot better to impress this independent. I thought Secreatary Clinton demonstrated what a class act she really is today.
Sorry I meant to say Paul may have presidential aspirations.
Republican, Democrat or Independent – What does it matter? Why do such discussions always have to involve partisan sensibilities, and their attendant rancor?
These questions being asked are on behalf of the American people – "We The People" should like to know why Americans were (firstly) put in harms way by the actions, inactions or oversights of their government? Why that government (secondly) then sought to avoid addressing the the mismanagement, miscommunication, ignorance and other sundry dysfunction that contributed to said tragedy; dismissing it as a random (ergo, unavoidable) act of violence – An accident, if you will?
Furthermore, this government has maintained diplomatic missions overseas, for well over a century – ""We The People" wish it explained how is it that there is an absence of an established protocol for dealing with any and all communications addressing threats of escalating local violence, the likelihood of attack and other related security issues?
One would have thought that in light of the fact that September 11 seems to be a "hallmark" date, as regards the intentions of a group of enemies (real and perceived) that this government should, from now and forever more, remain alert to the probability of attack from such elements on or about that date.
If indeed these, our fellow citizens and fallen heroes, are truly to be honored, it should be that they haven't perished in vain – That their sacrifice may bring a greater clarity and honesty and transparency as regards our shortcomings in such situations; that other lives may be saved.
This conversation should not revolve around blame and flippant retort – This should be a respectful process which seeks to bring clarity to, and acknowledge, and correct those weaknesses that exist, that they may never be revisited.
How memories are forgotten! Iran in 1979:embassy stormed, hostages taken. How resolved? The Great Reagan won the 1980 election by making a deal (secretly) with the Iranians: guns and money for hostages. And now the Republicans are making noise about Benghazi? Bring on Chaney so some more secret deals can be made! Get real Americans!
Why was Bush and Chaney not tried by congress? .
When she takes the same stance against the Bush years, I might listen. BS.
This woman is typical of her party-brain dead. Now he has that Dana Loesch on. Why does CNN keep having this bubblehead on? She shows up elsewhere and just so tiresome for a young person. Can't wait til she's an old lady and her looks are gone and she can pontificate on the merit of these Teabaggers.
This woman is such a light weight, she has no business being in the Senate. Pathetic comment on the state of voters in this country
Piers can you get the hell out of the United States and go home you damn redcoat! Didnt you brits get the idea in the revolution war that we dont want you here. GO HOME!
Pass Resolution of Inquiry into Bush Lies This Week
This woman is a fly-weight. It is excruciatingly obvious that the problem lies with budget problems which are handled by people above her pay grade. Ask the Committee Chair people who have denied, year after year, the funding necessary to maintain adequate security around our diplomatic posts.
She might be a fly-weight but the ultimate joke was this Dana Loesch woman. How in the world, Piers, can you allow people like this to talk over you the way she did? You need to push the button which shuts off her mouth while you say something.
I'll say this - whenever I am inundated by voices talking over one another I instantly shut the sound off and, more than likely, go to the computer for some far more elucidating input. Think about it. You should not allow these morons to drown you out. If they can't take their turn shut them off.
You'd actually have more customers. Me, for example. Though I'll probably keep your program on I'll only listen to the parts where your guests are appropriately controlled.
All best - Roger Tompkins
Piers, Dr. Oz should have also prescribed an overcoat for you on that very cold Sunday you sought to prove again your tenacity! Get well soon!!
Wendy : Why don't you just Shut up.
did he not understand how they treated Bush over the war? so when he says that they are making a big deal over four death what in the world is he talking about? I love the game playing he did on good old boy. see he makes movies like that and he like guns so is hollywood really to blame for any thing. what do you do with a bully and this is what he is? I know we can write CNN and ask they to make him stop like they did Beck before he got the can.
a breathe of rationality, not the one sided banter. Our fight Is with those who perpetrated the heinous slaughter of American lives. when the facts are clearly laid out, we have plenty of time to see our failures and try to improve upon them so it does not happen again. Once this is down, we can play the blame game.
That Piece is a real puke...
As a high school Senior from New Hampshire I am very please with the job Senator Ayotte has done. As an independent, I believe the Clinton hearing was strict politics. You saw the Democrats take it easy on Clinton and Republicans more demanding of answers. The American people want answers and I am sick of this administration starting with President Obama coving up with faulty lies. It is pathetic and sick.
Welcome to reality kid... Get used to it...!

Hey Hillary do something about the excess fat pockets in your lying mug.
Good morning Piers Morgan, I'm live in Northampton, East Midland, England, United Kingdom. I believe that the America Foreign Secretary of State Rt. Honourable Mrs Hillary Rodham Clinton. I think she is a very good polite and listen etc. I am supporting campaign to the America President Candidate Mrs Hillary Clinton run in 2016.
Wonderful goods from you, man. I've keep in mind your stuff previous to and you are simply extremely wonderful. I really like what you have received right here, certainly like what you're saying and the best way during which you say it. You are making it entertaining and you continue to care for to stay it sensible. I can not wait to read far more from you. This is actually a tremendous site.
You really allow it to be seem very easy together with your demonstration but I discover this subject to be really something which I think I'd by no means comprehend. It appears as well complex and incredibly wide for me personally. I’m anticipating for your next article, I’ll attempt to get the hang of it!
