Jan Brewer on Obama's immigration reform: "I'm just absolutely thrilled that we've got the president talking about solutions"

Following Tuesday's speech by President Barack Obama – in which the president pledged to support a "comprehensive overhaul of U.S. immigration laws" – last night Piers Morgan welcomed Governor Jan Brewer back to the program, inviting her to share some perspective on an issue that literally lives in her backyard.

"We've seen you on tarmacs jabbing your finger at the president in the past over this very contentious issue," noted the "Piers Morgan Tonight" host. "What is your verdict on what he announced today?"

"I'm just absolutely thrilled that we've got the president talking about solutions and also I'm very grateful that we've got a bipartisan effort in the Senate to try to address the issue that America, the United States has been facing," said the 68-year-old Republican. "Bottom line is I'm very, very encouraged with the ideas, particularly with the Senate proposing that we move forward and that we will get our border. We will, you know, have our border secured."

Despite agreeing with his guests pleasure over progressive conversation within the parties, Morgan still made a point to note that the proverbial glass may actually be half empty:

"The optimist in me is thrilled at this remarkable display of bipartisanship from Washington's politicians, and we should all celebrate this great moment," he began. "The cynic in me says that the reason that so many of the Republicans have softened their position including, dare I say it, your good self, is that you realized after the recent election that the Latino vote was disappearing from the Republicans and may never return."

Responding to the notion that Brewer, and others within the G.O.P., may simply be sacrificing one political agenda for another, the governor defended herself:

"I know that there have been politicians saying that it was all because of the illegal immigration issue. You know, that's your opinion or other people's opinion," she said. "I think that overwhelmingly people understand we have an issue with an insecure border and we want operational control."

Watch the clip, and listen to the interview, then decide for yourself: Are Brewer and other Republicans really in support of Obama's immigration reform? Or, rather, are they simply leveraging the issue for political gain on another issue?

Why is necessary to increase IT rates and salaries in United States? A) After the identification that the ERP companies are mixing capitalist models with communist and socialist ideas, there is an urgent need to program the reengineering of ERP with the capitalist models we use to have all the time in the American businesses all over the world. B) There is a need to hire only capitalist American citizens or loyal permanent residents to make those changes because of the knowledge of the capitalist models in economy, engineering, accountancy among others. C) The development of new markets, especially in Spanish for LATAM and Spain because this reengineering of ERP has to cover this LATAM market as well as other currently in progress.

mocked and Loaded was not the truth was it? who is working for the white house? MSNBC and cnn for he was not mocked he was asking a question to any one in that room. but they didn't show that part! like the time they didn't show us the full tape of that guy asking is he black, only showing I think he is black? they also did the same with the guy in the white shirt with all the guns on him, that they said hated blacks, and he him self was black. but they never showed his head, Fox news did the next day. so who is lying to you? Fox? or the other news shows? and if so why? and why did Obama said if it was not for Fox news, we could get things he wants done? Very odd isn’t it!

Since illegals are a new source of gun violence this is an apropos posting.

    1) To reduce handgun related violence declare the Bloods, Crips, MS13, Hells Angels, mafia, .... demonstrably violent gangs.... as TERRORISTS. Treat them like enemy combatants. Use the NDAA 2012 and extended Patriot Act against them. Sure we have too many people in prison and yet our crime rates are down – go figure. Just being in a demonstrably violent gang should make it illegal to own a gun. When you are a member of a gang you are forswearing your primary secular allegiance to the U.S.

    2) To reduce assault style rifle violence mandate that owners must keep their weapons away from minors and disturbed individuals in the home or face severe civil and criminal consequences with mandatory prison time. Let your son go to school with your AR-10, AR-15, high capacity assault styled weapon because you didn't lock it away from him then lose your savings, your home and your freedom. If you locked it up and he stole it, then you are not culpable. But you run the risk to trust him or not. This would not include handguns.
