On Monday evening at 9, Donny Deutsch pulled up a familiar chair on the set of "Piers Morgan Tonight," making a fourth appearance as guest host of the primetime program. Debuting a new "9 at 9" format, the "Today" show contributor welcomed a gang of all-star personalities and pundits, inviting his panel to use the hour to digest and dissect some of the country's most-polarizing topics.
On the heels of Sunday's Grammy awards, which featured singer Rihanna appearing arm-in-arm with artist Chris Brown, the couple publicly displaying their rekindled romance despite Brown having been convicted of beating the singer on the eve of the 2009 Grammys, Deutsch asked his guests whether celebrities, particularly pop music stars, have an obligation to be role models.
"Yes," said guest Faith Salie. "Rihanna, if she doesn't want to be a role model, then she shouldn't have her own clothing line, which she does. She shouldn't have a perfume, which she does. She shouldn't be tweeting pictures of herself in Chris Brown's bed to her fans."
Guest Abby Huntsman agreed with Salie noting that, "She has a number of young girls, my younger sisters included, that love her. So, she is a role model to so many."
Also on topic, the recent publication of the profile article of the Seal Team Six Navy SEAL sniper who shot Osama bin Laden. Identified only as "The Shooter" in the Esquire magazine article, the profile contains a detailed account of the raid and its aftermath including the life of the SEALs themselves. FULL POST
