On Wednesday – the eve of Valentine's Day – guest host Robin Meade pulled up a seat in the "Piers Morgan Tonight" studio, cueing "the cheesy piano music," and offering a little bit of holiday advice for all the husbands and wives, girlfriends and boyfriends, who may be guilty of misinterpreting their significant others' signals:
"Not to believe the person in your life who says, 'No, no, you don't have to get me, I don't want anything,'" says HLN's lead anchor, explaining traps to avoid on the day of Hallmark and hearts. "Maybe you don't have to buy something, but you do have to do something. Trust me. Trust me."
Filling in for Piers Morgan, Meade couldn't complete her stint without poking a bit of a fun at the man who regularly references all things emotional:
"Piers Morgan," she begins. "Happy Valentine's to you, my friend. Let us ask you on Valentine's Day, how many times have you been properly in love?"
Continuing to call out the host's signature question, Meade dug in a little deeper:
"Do you not have another question to ask people? What kind of question is that? What do you mean, how many times have I been properly in love? Is there an improper way?"
Watch the clip, and listen to the story, as Meade settles in at Morgan's desk, even going so far as to take a turn at some holiday-motivated redecorating.
