Reporter on Adam Lanza emulating Norway shooter: "Finding ... news articles in the home is ... definitely part of their investigation"

As new theories develop, and fresh clues emerge, following the tragic mass killing in Newtown, Conn., this evening "Piers Morgan Tonight" welcomed a pair of journalists boasting unprecedented access to the life of the person responsible for 28 deaths.

In teaming with PBS FRONTLINE to produce the film "Raising Adam Lanza," reporters Alaine Griffin and Josh Kovner looked for answers surrounding the unspeakable events of December 14, 2012.

Joining Piers Morgan for a live interview, tonight the pair revealed some of their findings particularly in terms of the relationship and role of his mother Nancy, the day's first victim, and the woman known to have brought the firearms used in the shooting into the Lanza home.

"How much responsibility should she have on her shoulders," asked Morgan, allowing that she's unfortunately unable to defend or speak for herself. "Should she have done more, do you think, to get him treatment?"

Noting that Lanza suffered from a series of mental disorders, Kovner addressed Nancy Lanza's culpability:

"For a healthy kid, it's fine. And maybe early in his life, maybe it was okay," he said, referencing the presence of guns in Lanza's life. "As he struggled more, as he struggled to find his place in the world, as his contemporaries went on to college and went on to jobs and he ended up basically sitting home, it starts to get unhealthy perhaps. I think she should have regulated the activity a little bit more."

As recent reports have suggested that the motivation behind Lanza's incident was in certain ways a perceived competition with Norwegian mass-murdered Anders Behring Breivik, Griffin offered some physical evidence that may potentially support such a theory:

"Hartford Courant reporters Dave Altimari and Ed Mahony reported today that investigators did find news articles that talked about the massacre in Norway. "It's a theory they're looking at, that perhaps he did emulate the Norway shooter," she explained. "Finding those news articles in the home is something that is definitely part of their investigation."

Watch the clip, and listen to the interview, as the two reporters playing key roles in the PBS FRONTLINE film go on to share specific details as to the ways in which Nancy Lanza stores the guns in her home, and whether or not the firearms were securely locked up.

There is lots of talk about Adam Lanza's mother and her degree of responsibility. One must really also ask "Where was his father?" If Adam had a loving, concerned and involved father, things might have evolved very differently

I worked for the public schools for 25 years as a school psychologist and special education administrator. I am not hearing any knowledgeable discussion about Asperger's Syndrome. The symptoms of this disorder are highly specific and easy to identify. One symptom is that they are not able to take another person's perspective. They also think literally, that is, you can't use figurative language with them. They want things done "their way." They do not understand social rules. They have terrible temper tantrums when they don't understand situations or mispercieve an individual's intentions. They will also have tantrums when things don't go "their way." They are extremely self centered. They each have a perseverative interest, that is, there is over development in some areas of their brain. I have a relative with Asperger's Syndrome and he is an expert in Geography. Adam should have been receiving services from the Regional Center for the Developmentally Disabled. The American Psychological Association has kept this diagnosis on the Autism Spectrum although they are markedly different. Also Adam should have been receiving services from the Department of Vocational Rehabilitation. A behaviorist, through Regional Center, would have been able to assist the parents in managing Adam's behavior. All of these services are at no cost. They are very difficult to manage in an educational setting. Another subject that is never mentioned in the news coverage is that Adam shot the Individual Education Program Planning Team. He had to search out the Special Class Teacher and the behavioral aide. He did not shoot the Vice Principal. The Principal and the Psychologist, along with a regular classroom teacher, would comprise the IEP Team. No one ever discusses the matters I have discussed in this message.

parents have to re-educate their children and try again for the first time ( like corn flake commercial) teaching humility, respect for oneself and to others, politeness and manners and being a hands on parent!!!!! the last two geneerations are corporate de-sensitized and destructive, cant problemsolve easily and use meer simple commonsense, Lack of parent participation in their childrens lives due to two working families with no time, or just lack of effort or lazyness!!

How about this, If you were from 1800's – 1980's what would happen to you if you didnt do your chores, told your parents NO, argued back at them and disrespected them, stole from them or their neighbors, or brought home bad grades from school. How about not saying please and thank you. You know what it meant , a beating or hard labor ( probably both ) and if you disagree, your lying through your teeth. Whats it like going to burgerking ( or any service place or store ,etc) when you order the youth are inconvenianced to take your order, no eye contact, or they just say what do you have and no other words. And those youths are actually working ( which is a lost art, we usually had a job between 16 and 19 yrs. strating out its just what you did in your DNA. OUR children are isolated at home playing video games or watching TV for4-8 hours all day. Dont go out of the house and meet with friends face to face ( only by internet now) Its sad but the corporation world built it this way and we are getting less smart ( dumber) and much more lazy. we need a refridgerator to tell us to go shopping, most cant read a simple road map anymore. getting out to shop is going exctintct. Wheres this all going. Our kids are desesnitzed to life and consequnces and commonsense life value judgement. Think Im joking, not my child, go ahead and be in denial, its the new way of parenting , NOT MY CHILD. If you dont interact with them and do things with the whole family, your doomed.

Oh please. And if semi-automatic assault rifles were in existence and all the rage from 1800-1980 as they are now it would be a magnitude worse with all that pent up anger from kids having the snot beat out of them. Hitting a kid creates resentment and perpetuates the cycle of violence. Thankfully, not all kids respond negatively of course, but the ones prone to having problems are MUCH worse off if you kick the living crap out of them.

You seriously need to get up to speed with the modern world. There are reasons, very good reasons actually, why our thinking on this issue in modern society has evolved.

Now hears where we take back our childrens safety in their schools , neighborhoods and places of entertainment : NEW GUN REGULATION!!! So sorry but there is nothing you can do now to change the fact WE ARE GOING TO HAVE A NATIONAL GUN REGISTRATION DATABASE FOR ALL GUN SALES (AND PRIVATE GUN SALES). We are going to be responcible for every stray bullet an/or negligant killing now. WE ARE GOING TO ELIMINATE THE SLEAZY GUN SHOW AN STREET DEALERS WHO HAVE TO MORALE CONCIOUS OR ETHICS AND SELL TO CRIMINALS!!!!!!!!! Scream from the top of your lungs legal gun holders ( for what I dont know) . Go ahead and hold your weapons and dress up and play army or what ever supresses you insecure in your manhood. But the registoring data base is a done deal even though you dont know it. AND SEMI AUTOMATIC GUNS AND HIGH CAPACITY MAGS ARE GONE IN 5 YEARS. Remember this conversation when their banned. We will take back our childrens safety, you will always have you hand guns, shot guns, and HUNTING rifles!!!!!!!! GOD BLESS!

Be careful what you wish for, you might get it.

Timothy McVeigh killed over one hundred without a gun. The worst school massacre in the US was done with a bomb, not a gun.
Violence originates in the mind of the perpetrator, not the gun. Shooting people with a gun is a process. A process takes time. During this process the shooter could be interrupted by a knowledgeable person. If he or she is denied a gun, they may resort to another means ala T McVeigh. If passing laws will help, why don't we pass laws against drugs which causes more pain, oh, wait.

So we should just give up, the wild frontier of the destiny of are country is to give free reighn and not try everything possible to stop violence with or without a gun. I hear this same dam phrase from to many ignorant and lost people in my country. there isnt going to be a national gun registry because every dictator who came into power by taking away everybodys guns started by requiring a registery because of 'public safety'. the people didnt fight back & say its none of the governments business what the citizens who elected them own.
we have learned from those fatal mistakes many others have made in history, even recent history, & we will not risk our freedom because someone we elected wants to take the only thing we have to stop them from doing anything they want away from us.
we are also very aware that media & some politicians will do & say anything to get more power.
we know they lie & many of them are in politics because of the power we gave & they just want more & more even if it means making up lies

to say things just to put others down & to argue about nonsense is pointless.

almost all people understand history & why its important not to have a gun registry. if you dont agree then you should look into facts & history & see what has happened everytime there was a gun registry put in place somewhere.

its only so the government knows where our guns are & its none of their business. they are humans just like us & we elected them to do what we want. no criminal is going to register a gun. if adam lanzas guns were registered it would not matter at all.
you need to stop posting nonsense while adults are having conversations.

there is no practical purpose of gun registry except for the government to know where the guns are which isnt of their business. we dont know where all the guns are that they have that we paid for them to have.

so if someone with a registered gun commits a murder & then you charge them with murder & using a registerd gun? there is no point to that & the victim is still dead.

criminals dont use guns that can be registered anyways, they take the serial numbers off & use stolen guns that cant be traced back to them without some trace evidence which are already illegal.

there is a reason the government wants gun registration & thats so they know where to confiscate the guns like DOJ memo just released says.

if they try to register guns it will be a very bad thing for them because every gun owner & every American who knows about history knows what that would mean for our freedoms & nobody would let that happen except people who are ignorant to facts & trusts politicians who lie & distort facts to get more power for themselves.

        ok
1 people who have legal guns dont cause stray bullets that people need to find out where they came from.
2 bullets are traced back to guns by the shell that stays with the gun or lands by their feet not the bullet
3 shells are traced by the firing pin of a gun & has nothing to do with registering a gun

      • thanorthstar.com

if the bullet survives enough it can be matched the barrel which is almost never used to track guns & is not what the registration has anything to do with. barrels can be altered & changed as well. but most importantly it only affects people who use guns legally & not criminals so it wont have any impact on crime.

kmon man , your just saying things to cause drama. nobody who uses guns legally for protection has any need to alter their barrel, firing pin or serial number, or register their guns.
do you want to stop crime or create more victims?
all facts, including FBI website, show all violent crimes in America overall have been decreasing dramatically, you can look it up yourself. This coincides with states allowing more people to have permits to carry.
the only places violent crimes have increased are cities like Chicago & New York where they have very strict guns laws that prevent law abiding citizens from getting permits to carry.
those are facts, & its common sense. what criminal is going to violently attack people who can stop the attack? get real.
criminals want easy targets that wont fight back & they use guns that arent registered.
believe all the nonsense you want, your just stuck on being ignorant or your just here to cause drama & not look at real facts that prove you are wrong about everything you think about guns.

There is an epidemic proportion of Estranged Parents in America. Most of us don't know what to do once our children are labeled as Adults.

Dr Josh Coleman has some wonderful seminars and gives therapy that most can't afford. Mr Morgan this would be a good topic to discuss and give light to this behavior or mental illness.

Our utmost focus in preventing mass killings should be on the individuals with psychological problems. We should change the way we view those who are mentally ill. The families of them are often faced with such stigma, a lot of times they feel embarrassed and can’t openly ask for help. We need to recognize that the mental illnesses are nothing different from suffering cancers, in many cases it’s not their fault that their brains don’t function normally. If we all can be more understanding and compassionate, that would encourage the families to get proper help for their troubled family members.

Also, if there are more adequate facilities, not jails, but more like rehabilitation centers for substance abuse, throughout the country readily available to the families of mentally ill or troubled, where they can take their family members without the worries of them being treated like criminals or receiving abuse from other criminals, where the families can trust that their troubled loved ones will be well taken care of by medical and psychiatric experts at almost no cost to them (state or federal-run), I think that could make a difference. That may help remove the threats of mentally-unstable individuals suddenly exploding and ending up harming others and themselves.

did you know piers said the are 0 guns in britain so they only have 60 gun murders a year. so thats nonsense unless he meant there are 0 guns used legally that cause 60 murders.
so instead of applying that same logic to America & saying there are 0 guns in America & 10,000 guns murders, he wants everyone to believe the issue is law abiding citizens who we should be afraid of.

i think piers meant to to distort facts & mislead people about gun facts like he usually does,

he said, 'in britain, there are no guns anywhere, nobody has guns, you cant find guns anywhere, & there is only 60 gun murders/ year.'
he also doesnt mention britain has the highest violent crime rates in all of britain now since they banned guns. he doesnt mention how most guns prevent murders in America. there are over 1,000,000violent crimes stopped every year by law abiding gun owners.
the 10,000 gun murders in America mostly happen in the places with the strictest gun laws. if you only include the places where gun laws arent so restrictive, murder rates by guns are very low.

i was unaware of that. im not suprised piers would also leave that fact out.

even if 1 of those people who legally have a gun or someone steals their gun then commits a murder with it, piers puts it into the statistic he uses of it being 1 of the 0 guns in britain. so when he is using statistics in that way he should use it in the same way when comparing to the USA or its not a statistic he can use to accurately compare anything with.

if he is going to use statistics like that he should say there is 0 guns in the USA as well & that would be accurate comparison if he uses statistics in a wierd way like that by stating something in a confusing way to distort facts.

it sounds like he is trying to put a slant on it & make it seem like legal responsible people in britain w guns are different than legal responsible people in usa with guns.

I wish to correct an error on a Piers Morgan show on You Tube.
Piers was shooting different guns at a shooting range in Texas. He asked if he could buy the gun he was shooting. The instructor said, "Yes." This is incorrect. I don't know Piers' status re the US. If he is not a citizen, he could not buy a gun. If he is not a citizen of the state of Texas, he could not buy a gun there. If he fulfills all the requirements, citizen of the US, inhabitant of the state, he still would have to undergo a waiting period and background check in order to buy a gun.

i was thinking the same thing when i saw that. but there are so many errors on piers show it is ridiculous. he went on for months saying automatic weapons are illegal to own but anyone who can pass the background checks & afford the high fees & taxes can legally own automatic weapons.

he also says there is no reason for anybody to need an AR15 because they are murder machines, but in reality almost everyone who has an AR15 has it to stop murders like in this video:

Obama does not go far enough!
Criminals don't always buy from legit dealers.
Background checks don't work if there is no background.
The more important checks that should be done are on those who already have guns!
Handguns cause the majority of firearms deaths.
    My solution to handguns:
Make non or 'less than' lethal guns more effective vs normal guns.
    Proposal:
    1. Encourage the use & development of 'Smart guns'.
    2. Make non lethal ammo that is designed to stun, like a flashbang.
-The Military is working on this right now.
This ammo should work with guns already in circulation.
    3. Compulsory , regular training & mental health checks.
For more powerful weapons, more training & checks.
    4. A choice of: paying an extortionate price for a license for powerful weapons,
Or; be part of a part time militia.
In conclusion you must ask these questions:
Is a gun owner still mentally & physically capable of using a gun?
Are they responsible enough to own a powerful weapon, that can be potentially be effectively used against the police?

Obama does not go far enough!
"Criminals don't always buy from legit dealers".
Criminals dont follow laws. More laws will be against responsible gun owners. Would you say his mother was not a responsible gun owner becuase he had access to them?
"Background checks don't work if there is no background".
This would have to do with a seperate medical, criminal, mental health database that would have to do with public saftey in all aspect. Not just for gun sellers to draw from. But where do you draw the line? If this database was available would you use it for everybody who wants to rent moving vans? buying duct tape and rope?
"The more important checks that should be done are on those who already have guns!"
So we are all now guilty untill proven inocent?
Handguns cause the majority of firearms deaths.
      "My solution to handguns:
Make non or 'less than' lethal guns more effective vs normal guns."
We already have that in many ways, but the bottom line is guns are made to kill. Responsible gun owners are responsible. Key word responsible. There is no need for "less than lethal". That would be more violence. They would shoot up everybody knowing its only assult and not murder.
      Proposal:
"1. Encourage the use & development of 'Smart guns'." Responsible gun owners
"2. Make non lethal ammo that is designed to stun, like a flashbang." as above. No need for gun saftey or being responsible knowing I will only stun you.
"-The Military is working on this right now." right now is actually always was but will never work or be implimented toward enemy because our enemy dont follow geniva laws. Google "gay bomb". Currently working on non lethal to use on unarmed combatants being US
This ammo should work with guns already in circulation.
'3. Compulsory , regular training & mental health checks. For more powerful weapons, more training & checks." As above all weapons kill. but what is a weapon?? knife, bats, cars?
      4. A choice of: paying an extortionate price for a license for powerful weapons, Or;" be part of a part time militia."
WE the people...A well regulated militia, being the best security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms, shall not be infringed....
In conclusion you must ask these questions:
Is a gun owner still mentally & physically capable of using a gun?
Are they responsible enough to own a powerful weapon, that can be potentially be effectively used against the police?

the question is what happened to our society?I s it our media that fuel this? What happend to the days of getting sand kicked in your face..Oh yea.. im going to go to the gym... not im gonna grab my AK.
People will always find a weapon. Even the movie Aurora shooting. If there no guns it would have been the Aurora bombing. His house was filled with it. We dont blame the cars or alcohol for drunk drivers. Even if all guns were illegal. Drugs are illegal but there still there.

Thank you for pointing out some of my unclear & incomplete thinking.
        My ideas are a W.I.P.
I was trying to think outside the box a bit.

        How about this:
"Criminals don't always buy from legit dealers".
To cut down on illicit arms dealing, you need law enforcement to detect & stop it.
        However:
The law in the US is being subjected to horrendous cuts.
Almost all the ammo has been bought up by private citizens.
        naturalnews,com/038632_ammo_shortage_police,html
        -My Solution
Give options to all lethal gun owners (each year):
1.Get deputized as part of a (part time) Militia.
This will take the pressure off cops so that instead of having to focus on physically patrolling the streets, the more qualified of them can actually detect & solve crimes (like gun running).
2.Pay a license fee for gun ownership which will fund the Militia/Police.

Hey how about just the National gun Registration Data base , that would be nice and would work. Maybe GPS tags on all new guns. If your legit and legal what do you have to hide. If your investigated by your local law enforcment , they find your gu. better be legal. and we are going to hold all gun owners responcible for their stray bullets or negligance. Crystal clear logic, If you got nothing to hide!!!!!

like i mentioned earlier registration has no practical purpose in doing anything to reduce gun violence.

do u think criminals would register their guns because its the law? almost all criminals use stolen guns & guns w altered serial numbers that cannot be traced back to them without trace evidence like dna or fingerprints.

people who have legal guns call 911 if they ever shoot their gun for self defense & report it right away.

stray bullets arent traced by serial numbers like used in a gun registry, they are traced by firing pin marks on the shell casings that stay with the gun or land by the gun – & you cant tell which stray bullet came from which shell casing. also firing pins can be altered after the shooting so the shell casings cant be traced back to the gun.

there was DOJ memo that just came out that says the registration is for the purpose of confiscation.
it really has no purpose except for that.
we paid for all the guns the government has & the guns they are trying to buy now including the 7,000 automatic rifles – & we dont know where those all are. its none of the government's business what we own & to cause this huge inbalance of power where the government has all the guns & the citizens dont have any is extremely dangerous for everyone in this country, (& the world because every other country except 1 has been successfully disarmed)

We gut the unethical non-consious gun show and street dealers that dont play by the game and like dominos they fall. Yes all guns registered will form a database to link law enforcement to information, Helping to identiffy bullistics and help match crimes that are negilantly cominted. time and patience : Do you know how business and business plans work, goverment programs and school education systems. !yr, 5yr, 10 yr and 20 year plans. re-evaluate and make adjustments and assessments. you have no right to tell others what to do & what they can own unless they are putting you in danger. you trust politicians & thats never a smart thing. they are suppose to do what we say but you think we should do what they say. its backwards. you cant handle protecting yourself then thats your issue but most adults can handle it.

i think people should do something to reduce violent crime (&crime in general)

but in regards to violent crime , you can do what people have always done, train to use a gun & carry a gun & then you can stop any violent crime that happens around you. there is nothing else that can be done to immediately reduce violent crime except for taking personal responsibility for yourself, your family, community & you country. it is a responsibility that comes from living in a free society where there is a tiny number of people who cant handle having anything they want & use products they werent intended for while the vast majority uses those products correctly.

over the long term , people can raise their kids better, have better education system, have better opportunities for people to make honest living, better the mental health system, get rid of mental health drugs that have side effects of homicide & other things along those lines.

however there will always be people who want to harm others in this world with guns, knives, bats or other weapons or just their bare hands. you are putting kids & people at risk when you deny the reality & then send your kids into gun free zones or live in a dream world where you think nobody is bad & pretending that everyone will always be safe.

im really not sure why anyone would want to take away the ability of people to defend against violent crime. you must be just ignorant on facts & dont want to know. well here are some for you & you can research yourself if you really care to educate yourself on the issues of violent crime & how to reduce it by being a man & taking personal responsibility:

The United Kingdom is the violent crime capital of Europe and has one of the highest rates of violence in the world, worse even than America.
The total number of violent offences recorded compared to population is higher than any other country in Europe, as well as America, Canada, Australia and South Africa.
Violent crime in the UK had increased from 652,974 offences in 1998 to more than 1.15 million crimes in 2007.
2,000 crimes recorded per 100,000 population in the UK, making it the most violent place in Europe. By comparison, America has a rate of 466 violent crimes per 100,000 population.
The number of people requiring hospital treatment after being seriously hurt in street fights or assaults has risen 50 per cent in five years.
Handgun crime in the United Kingdom rose by 40% in the two years after it passed its draconian gun ban in 1997.
The rate of robbery is now 1.4 times higher in England and Wales than in the United States, and the British burglary rate is nearly double America's.
Over the last 70 years, Europe has averaged about 400,000 murders per year, when one includes the murders committed by governments against mostly unarmed people.17 That murder rate is about 16 times higher than the murder rate in the U.S.
The crime rate in England is higher than the crime rates of 16 other industrialized nations, including the United States.

Since Australia's 1996 laws banning most guns and making it a crime to use a gun defensively, armed robberies rose by 51%, unarmed robberies by 37%, assaults by 24% and kidnappings by 43%. While murders fell by 3%, manslaughter rose by 16%.

Over the past decade, the rate of violent crime in Canada has increased while in the United States the violent crime rate has plummeted.

In the days before 'car control', many many more people died in car accidents.
The police can now track you almost anywhere & so can have a chance to stop wreckless drivers.
The same should be done with guns.
    Guns should :
    Be locatable – GPS
Be only used by the owner -smartgun eg 'igun' by Mossberg
Have sain, responsible owners – regular mental & physical checks AFTER purchase.
Have reasonable limits to their power & ROF
    – eg non armour piercing & 3 rounds/sec & 30/minute
Be none lethal if possible- see smartrounds llc website

why do you think the government should be so involved in people's personal business?
guns are like cars only in how some people use them for uses they werent intended for, & that we live in a free country & some people cant handle the responsibilty of being able to have whatever they want, so you have to be on defense & prepare for those few people. its always been part of the price we pay to have freedom. we must sacrifice & its always worth it compared to the alternative of not having freedom.

but we have guns to be able to stop violent crimes & maniacs who mass murder, & if it ever gets so extreme that we need to stop the government from being taken over by dictators who tell us what we can & cant do without any fear of being stopped.
& before you say thats crazy , every time that has happened, people thought it couldnt happen & times had changed & things were different. they forgot that there will always be power hungry money hungry people in this world & that politicians shouldnt trusted & their power should be limited.

& before you say what is a gun going to do to stop missles or bombs, what happened in other places , people were rounded up in camps & prisons.. & bombs would destroy the natural resources that the land has.

also barely anybody uses guns to murder people. almost all guns are owned to stop murders. an AR15 is great because if group of criminals break into your home carrying a pistol, they will most likely run away without anybody getting shot or killed including the criminals. people dont assault people with AR15s. this is what AR15s are really used for in almost all situations:

there will always be people who use products that they arent intended for. if you arent breaking into peoples home & doing violent crimes, then you should have no fear of law abiding citizens owning whatever guns they want.
the nice thing about it is that even you(unless you cant pass a background test) can own & carry a gun & be trained, they are very easily to use & operate safely.
so that means if the 1 in a billion chance you are in a place (unless its a gun free zone like newtown) that a maniac attacks, you can be the hero & save countless lives, like the guy who was carrying his pistol in the OR mall that stopped a slaughter.

i dont get where people get that idea. no1 is saying that. we are saying people who cant handle the responsibilty shouldnt have guns. its a huge responsibilty & takes constant awareness & constant safety. you cant forget those things even for a second when you carry guns.
people like me are saying there are some idiots(&criminals) who will get there hands on guns (or other weapons) but they are outnumbered so the more non idiots who are carrying guns, the better. to stop those idiots (& criminals, & maniacs) when they do something stupid (or immoral or dangerous)
we are also saying there are some of those idiots(criminals, maniacs) in police, government, & military also, so we should have a way to protect ourselves against them.
i carry a gun, im not some random idiot. i was violently attacked by 6 guys while i was stopping them from assaulting my girlfriend. i was almost knocked unconscious & they didnt have any weapons. i got a gun & permit to carry & constant training so i can protect myself & the people around me if that were to happen again or something worse.

if gun ownership .. or lets say access to guns, was truly limited to those who should (people with a brain and a training).. you wouldn't need a gun at all .. I personally do not believe int he BS of 5 guys assaulting your gf ... if you live in an environment where that is possible, then you sure shouldn't get a gun anyway, cause u probably are a criminal anyway .. the reality is that guns are accessible to anyone without any sort of limitation, which is the source of the problem .. it's not the gun alone, is the fact that anyone can have them ... and that is a very stupid reason to make guns even more accessible... which is what gun owners keep saying, and which fulfills the more gun violence prophecy.

Gun rights are about gun sales, nothing else and you all fall for it and die for it.

The proof is that you refuse any kind of solution that wold make sure only legitimate owners would be able to have guns.
For instance guns that can be fired uniquely bu the owner are easy to make with today's technology . but all the NRA opposes that on arguments that it could penitential limit gun rights .. which is pure BS.
It would indeed eliminate guns from criminals and wackos .. but would also reduce sales on the long run and that's where the problem is ... it's about $$ .. it's a simple as that and you fall for it

that's the other phony BS you resort to when you run out of decent arguments .. one more lie to keep insisting how important your gun is.. too bad there are many countries in the world with democratic government where there are virtually no guns and no gun violence ... compared tot he daily massacres in the USA, one more thing you keep denying at your convenience.

Stop saying rubbish ... gun control is very effective ... for instance urban gangs exist exclusively in country where guns are easy to get ..

I think the situation in the USA is beyond repair ... that is guns are now the way of life and people will continue dying in higher numbers ... there is no way you will ever give up your adolescent need for manhood .. but one thing can be done, eliminate gun fear by preventing guns from being fired but by the owner .. technology can do that easily .. that will change the context ... but then again you opposes that too .. man you are a bunch of delusional idlots

obviously your just commenting to start up drama & not to have any discussion how to prevent murders & other violent crimes.
i was violently attacked by a group of guys in their late teens/early 20s that i had never seen before & they only way I couldve prevented that is if i had a gun.
im actually a really nice & cool person & a good guy. they were harrassing my girlfriend & i tried to calmy talk it out but when they went to grab her i stepped in front of them to protect her & i ended up getting assaulted instead of her. then they ran off never to be seen again. i guess they were just mean people who were drunk & who were jealous or envious that i had my girlfriend with me when all they had were guys. if she wouldve been alone, it really was the type of situation & they were the type of people who probably wouldve s*x**lly assaulted her.
so thats clear to every person i ever met & even people i know who dont like guns or are a little uncomfortable around guns understand why i would want a gun to protect myself against violent criminals. & they have no problems we me carrying a gun to protect myself against criminals. nobody thinks anybody can save you in a situation like that. it happens when no body is around & they are gone before police can even get there. they also know i am the type of person to come to someone else's aide if they were being attacked around me. if you carry a gun, you dont have to use it to stop violent criminals from attacking you or people around you, but i just look out for my neighbors & community.
you are just trying to create drama

you can say what you want but there are real facts out there that you can be in denial about but everyone else knows are true.
A study claiming "guns are three times more likely to kill you than help you" is a total fraud. Even using the low figures from the Clinton Justice Department, firearms are used almost 50 times more often to save life than to take life. More importantly, however, the figure claiming one is three times more likely to be killed by one’s own gun is a total lie:

Researcher Don Kates reveals that all available data now indicates that the "home gun homicide victims [in the flawed study] were killed using guns not kept in the victim's home.

In other words, the victims were NOT murdered with their own guns! They were killed "by intruders who brought their own guns to the victim's household."

geez this person again? jeez man you a stalker that harrasses people.

you can look up the facts. citizens with guns save more children's lives then any kids that are killed by guns.
not to mention those kids that were killed in guns were killed because their parents sent them to an imaginary place where there is ban on guns & everyone pretended they were going to be safe.
those parents are to blame for not protecting their kids from maniacs out there that we all know exist that want to harm people.
its not my fault, my kids wont ever be in a place like that being lied to about how the real world is & the evil people in it .
just like you are to blame for trying to convince people this fantasy world of your really exists instead of doing something to protect the children in the communities from anybody with any weapon that wants to harm them.

i never said anything like that. i believe his mom shouldve kept her guns locked up when not in her immediate control. i also believe law abiding citizens should be able to have guns.

also , all this draws away from the real issue that causes people's minds to become so warped that they could kill a bunch of defenseless women & children. this is the cause of that & what they dont want to discuss while they try to convince everyone that it has something to do with guns.

People with guns kill people, str8 up! dont you think about your families safety when they leave the hous. We all got odds of someone breaking into our home, and we all got the right to shoot them. But the odds are way against you for it working out the way you think its going to, like shooting your wife. So...... I dont want every tom, dick, and harry out there in my business I freqent with guns in their coats. They better beware for their stray bullets. Mob justice is around the corner and the way you and your friends speak of only your right, Well time will tell!!!

but i do apologize for misreading your statement. i thought you said if U had a gun then I would be dead. but still there is no need to bully people & put other people down.
you can have opinions on issues but there are real facts that show you are wrong about this issue. you are being counter productive if you keep insisting you are right & try to tell others what you say is right & you are causing gullible people to be more vunerable if they believe what you say to be true.

it's common sense that is missing here ... and frankly is missing from any who think access to guns are for anyone to have and then claims that the only way to protect people from guns is giving them even more guns
when instead the solution is accepting that guns are power and not everyone can be given that kind of responsibility ... at least not without training and selection..
unfortunately those who argue for gun access don't give a damn about the consequences of allowing any idlots to be powerful ,.. all they want is a dick extension ....

well i can tell you have some very strong feelings about guns even if they are totally off base. people who carry guns to protect their communities & then if they ever have to shoot a criminal to stop them from hurting others is a hero.

also , many people like myself used to not carry a gun & thought things would be ok. i found out the hard way & was violently attacked.
this also includes many women who were attacked & s*xually assault before they got educated on guns. now they carry also & want to educate people so they dont become victims as well.

it has nothing to do with anyones s*xual organ, my pistol is 1 of smallest 9mm you can get, a kahr p9. & i carry concealed & nobody ever knows i have it. i also train regularly & was trained by an ex-police officer.
i carry because anybody can be attacked at anytime when nobody is around to help & thats the sad reality we live in.

So now we here of another shooting in California. This time the shooter was using a shotgun. Mr. Biden was only telling us yesterday if we want to protect ourselves we should buy a shotgun, as AR15s are much to difficult to use accurately. Now we here of this other shooting with a shotgun, it makes me wonder whether a double barrel 12 gauge, the type the Vice President is advising us to buy is going to be enough. What to do? Piers you better add a shotgun ban to your list!

this is why so many people have the backwards mentally today about guns & what guns are really used for.

        http://www.breitbart.com/Breitbart-TV/2012/03/18/Holder-Outlines-How-To-Change-Public-Opinion-On-Guns

its interesting, i hope you watch, considering this is the same guy that just released a bunch of guns to mexican cartels that were used to murder many people.

guns are used to stop murders. people like piers have been trying to convince people that guns are for murdering people(basically brainwashing at this point how he keeps repeating it over & over & over)

2 recent murderers were connected to piers, the cop killer & the blade runner. he is endangering national secruity. many mass murderers want to be famous & piers makes them more famous then they could ever dream by repeating their names & the incidents 1000s of times & making them into martyrs & heros.

you are saying that if guns are banned , then someday you can tell your kids or grandkids they have adam lanza to thank for that. people like piers are trying to convince people think that would be a great thing.

2 last things. on his show,
piers said taxation without representation is a good thing, part of the reason we have the 2nd ammendment to stop that very thing.

also, piers said in britain they have 0 guns but 60 gun murders. that same logic can be applied to America. we have 0 guns, & 10,000 gun murders.
because piers must obviously be talking about 0 guns being used legally to cause those murders because no way can there be 60 guns murders if there is 0 physical guns.
so really what he is saying he wants already exists, so you & him can stop worrying about guns because like in britain, there is 0 guns in America already.

there will be no stop to the list. "shootings" involve guns. As Nugent said we need to focus on killings not the tool involved. Are we saying "Im finally happy semi auto guns are banned. So now there are no longer any out there for bad people to use...just like drugs.. they are banned and there is none in here, or in our schools" or Im finally happy semi auto guns are banned. So now when they come in the school with a slow firing weapon maybe they just shoot 5 instead of 10. I feel my kids are much safer now"

We need to focus on the why not the how.

can you imagine if the guard in this video was using a shotgun? the whole entire room full of people would have been endangered by the blast. or even if he had some little pistol? probably cause a shoot out & endanger everybody. instead he pulls out an AR15 & the armed criminals take off running scared with nobody getting killed or hurt.

      http://video.foxnews.com/v/2174510822001/armed-crooks-met-with-ar-15-surprise/?intcmp=obnetwork

to listen to advice to just walk outside & blast the shotgun twice when there is a problem, not knowing who is around & who it could be in your line of fire is insane. the blast radias of a shotgun is huge comapred to an AR15..thats 1 of the worst things you could ever do with a shotgun or any gun for that matter

What the people of Chicago are saying about stricter gun laws. Everyone interviewed said stricter gun laws won't stop the killings. The shooting are happening because of the inequality that exists in our society, the increasing gap between the rich and the poor, the lack of affordable health care, the lack of jobs, and the lack of hope that goes with all of these things.

Why don't we require that from now on every gun made in the US or imported into the US be fired and the ballistic marks left on the bullet be digitized and connected to the make, model, mfg and serial number. We do it with fingerprints. That way if a gun is used in the commision of a crime it could be traced through the system. I know it would add to the cost of each weapon, but if people are willing to pay $1500 and more for an AR15, what is another $50 or so?

    February 21, 2013 at 12:36 pm | Report abuse | Reply

people can alter the firing pins & barrels of guns so the marks wouldnt match up with the records. they also can remove serial numbers so they cant be traced

what you are talking about wont have any affect on criminals. they dont follow laws thats why they are criminals.
people who use guns legally for protection dont need to have their guns in a database to show when it was used because they call 911 right away & report they shot at someone in self defense

I just listened to Piers Morans "interview" with a pizza owner who is offering a discount to customers who are armed. Piers in his typical childish form repeatedly called the guest an "idiot" and as usual exaggeration and amplification tatics accused the guest of wanting all his customers to be "armed to the teeth" – legally carring a side arm is far from armed to the teeth, but Piers cant seem to ever have a converation with an opposing view without resorting to these childish tactics. If Piers believes his opinion is correct why does he always shut opposing views down with childish behavior? If CNN wants to be respected as a responsible news company they need to educate this clown on how to have a mature well rounded discussion, because right now Piers Morgan is the best thing to ever happen to Fox 5 ratings.
