Tonight: Guns in America (and abroad)

As the gun debate continues to serve as the nation's most polarizing topic, this evening "Piers Morgan Tonight" will welcome a handful of guests, and delve into several stories, all in hopes of continuing the conversation on such hot-button issues as mental illness and firearm legislation.

With new clues, evidence and theories emerging after the massacre in Newtown, Conn. – in particular, those detailing a possible motive for Adam Lanza's deadly shooting spree – tonight Hartford Courant journalists Alaine Griffin and Josh Kovernon will join Piers Morgan for live insight on a story that continues to develop in their proverbial backyard.

Additionally, as Oscar Pistorius appears in court to deny allegations he intentionally killed his girlfriend, tonight the program welcomes CNN's South African corespondent Robyn Curnow for her perspective on the story. Meanwhile, U.S. paralympian Blake Leeper, one of Pistorius' chief rivals, also joins Morgan, offering his insight into the character, and disposition, of the man known internationally as "Blade Runner."

Also, forensic psychiatrist Dr. Michael Welner will address the situation through his role as lead researcher of the Depravity Scale.

Tune in this evening at 9 for what guarantees to be a fascinating program featuring the gun debate, as well as a bit of context provided from Denver Rorke, the man who trains Navy SEALs, as well as a small slice of levity coming in the form of actor and comedian Wanda Sykes.

Get real we can't even keep drugs out our prisons. Whoever thinks they can take our guns, for one is crazy and if they try they would only be creating economic growth for the black market. It will create a whole new criminal market killing legitiment jobs and legitiment market, losing tax money and creating people into criminals who were once legal for doing the same thing, like any prohibition has done in the past. Right now the only thing from keeping someone doing a home invasion is the chance the home owner might be armed and can defend theirselve. How else is a single mom or an elderly senior suppose to defend a home invasion without a gun? Are they suppose to call the police? Yea I'm sure the criminal with a gun to your head will be fine with that. He will probably even lend you his phone. And you know the police there in a jiffy, right on scene before a shot can go off. Get real. You really think a murderer will not murder b/c of some gun laws? If someone is willing to kill you I don't think they will care to break one more stupid gun law. You really think a person willing to commit mass murder then suicide right after, will back out it b/c they are gonna be worried about getting in trouble b/c they have a gun? Get real people! And if you think criminals won't have access to firearms if they take all our guns away, your living a dream. Just look how easily anything illigel with a demand is to get. You think people are rushing to the gun stores to spend top dollor stocking up on firearms, magazines, and amo, in a recession, are doing so they can hand them over when they are banned few months after? Piers why'd you come to America if don't like our freedoms? Britain has gun control already, why would you try to make America like where your from, if you can just go back to your gun control empire and leave our gun loving empire alone?

I have listened favorably to Piers' opinions about the ready access to assault weapons and the his repeated question posed to many as to why do we (American civilians) need such weaponry in our homes. This is an excellent question! He has noted statistics from Britian and other European countries pertaining to gun violence and gun control. However my question is this -how does their healthcare system help and treat their mentally ill population. Do we have something to learn from Britian, Europe, Asia, globally for that matter on better ways to medically treat people with mental illness? I ask that this be a topic that Piers speak to. Please – I implore you to have a comparative, statistically based, panel discussion on how this is handled in Britian as compared to the US. We need to make major progress in this arena in our country. These medical conditions need to be treated by our medical community and insurance companies the same from the neck up as the neck down – it is all one body! Thank you – Mary

I'm sorry to bother you Mary, but first I so agree with what you say, thank you. I am trying to post but I am wondering if there is a limit on size. I'm going to try to share my response with you for your thoughts if I may.
Welcome Back Piers, two Canadians will be happy again to watch. My Mum and Me.

I support what you are doing in respect of keeping the topic of gun reform on the Nations Agenda and I applaud the efforts of so many.
      I am only 1.
Here in Canada we have before our Supreme Courts a matter I am watching carefully.
You see, my son was 14 yrs old when an American School Counsellor felt it appropriate to give him a gift. A loaded derringer in a sock! A gift , to empower him. My Son has faced a life time of dealing with a chronic condition that is rare and complex. He has been coming to America for care as it was not available here in Canada. It has been a very difficult Journey. At 14 he also began to have some very significant struggles and infact was transferred to KUMed where we spent too much time. Previous to that we went to Boston and California. In California on a break from hospital stuff, we jumped on a city bus to go to Knotsberry Farms. A man yielding a gun got on that bus and took my money; leaving me penniless and petrified and protecting my little five year old as he cried, Mommy I can give you the money in my piggy bank. Puzzled in the moment I said to the bus driver, “why did you let him off the bus, he took my money?” The driver said "he would have taken your life if I hadn't, so, that’s what we do here." Perspective, it’s crazy sometimes, but not the perceiver.
A surgery at 14 went terribly wrong and Devon’s struggles became huge as he kept on keeping on. He graduated an Ontario Scholar and he missed huge parts of every school year . He then lost the only Father he ever really knew, his Grand Father. He was a Rock for us. He also lost the rest of our Family in a tragedy I won’t share here. We carried on though, doing our best. More Major surgery and more medical complications were the norm unfortunately. Huge horrific ones that left him literally with holes in his abdomen that would not heal.
Struggling with the complicated teenage stuff and then some, and filled with pain and frustration and fear he took that Gun and put it to his head Piers. My world came to a crashing halt. I had to keep on going. I rushed home, multi-tasked to have someone else get to the house, knowing he wasn't even chemically ok, let alone mentally or physically ok. I saw him faltering for three days. When I got here he was already down the street and I was in shock. I called the police to help and I hate myself today for that, on one level. He was taken down at gun point and he never had the gun. Then he was taken to jail. I'm haunted by the image in my mind and I can't speak for how he feels, but it grieves me, big time.
Devon made three courageous choices that day. Three right choices. Three admiral choices. He called me. He redecorated his bachelor pad instead of his brains and he put the gun away, as high as he could. He ran away from it all to get a drink he desperately needed to replace his lost electrolytes. He didn't hurt anybody. He is an amazing human being and he is still my hero today. Google him Please, Devon Chronic Intestinal Pseudo Obstruction. The Silver Linings, 4th story is mine. I am truly blessed, but broken Piers.
Here in Canada we have a Mandatory Minimum Jail Sentence of three years. He never even had a parking ticket and he spent his life fighting for it and for normalcy. I won't get in to all the rest of the details at this point, but suffice it to say, he didn't get the healthcare he needed when he got taken to Jail. Facing a 3 year federal jail term then became our reality, and after much whatever, he received 3 years of probation, just finished up now without incident.
He is labelled now a Criminal Piers; according to Canada and America. Your man can’t come here or he will be arrested. Our judicial system thought it too expensive to extradite him and couldn’t see the bigger picture I guess, and my Son can’t go there. The second part, I find Crazy. It could in all reality, become life threatening for him, definitely life inhibiting. He has needed American healthcare his whole life and nothing changed in that regard.
From my perspective Piers, this is very wrong. I understand he should have done something different, at some time, but I also understand how impressionable and vulnerable he was and how much this man was revered in our sailing circles up here. There too and I’m sure he passed the eligibility test with flying colours! Also, we don't have any Amnesty here. He didn't know what to do and you can't register a prohibited weapon like that – here. It should have never made it here.
Coming to me, well, I was the Queen of Anti-Gun after my two robbery experiences. Yes, two experiences . One here in Canada and the one I mentioned earlier in America. Here, I walked in to my neighbourhood bank that was being robbed. I got it lock stock and barrel in my face. The coldness I feel to this day, if I see anything that resembles that gun. Now, I look to see if people are standing up or lying down; before, I enter the bank! Crazy, but not really, just my reality. Every now and then, I forget but it’s still hard to go to the bank.
      All of this says something.
It says that Canadians and Americans need to address the problem of guns co-operatively and without all the hardened ideas that we have. Ideas about who carries them, why, how they get them, when, they use them, rightly or wrongly and so much more. I totally agree with what the chap on your show said about Mental Illness. Its not to think that if one doesn't have it today they won't get it tomorrow. Someone can implode in a day or over days or over years. I heard that on CNN around the time of the tragedy at Sandy Hook.
Who ever thought a School Counsellor, such a learned man in so many aspects would smuggle a gun like that to Canada and give it to a 14 yr old, loaded, in a sock? Do your laws account for that? He apparently cared for and wanted to help. He was a little man Piers and he identified and said he admired Devon so much. Maybe his heart was in the right place but his brain disengaged. Maybe he was elderly with dementia... Who knows...
all I know is, my son is NOT a Criminal and we need change and we need America to help us right now.
      Please consider speaking with me.
Thank You, have a good show, I'll be watching.
Moira, a Concerned Canadian Citizen and a Mom on a Mission for Mercy.
      Sincerely, Moira

oh just to clarify, i dont know how familiar you are with guns, but with shotguns, the have whats called a buckshot. its a bunch of tiny pellets inside a shell. so when its fired, the pellets spray out over a greater area. so in this case i mentioned, if the guard wouldve had a shotgun, he wouldnt have been able to fire the weapon without endangering the innocent people who were nearby.

also, like i mentioned above, having a gun thats scarey like a rifle usually will cause the attackers to stop in their tracks without a shot even being fired so many lives are saved. its the same with pistols. if you choose to get training & carry a pistol, if you have a little wimpy looking pistol, it usually wont stop the attacker unless you shoot them.

its all about saving lives & protecting your communities, country, & family when the few people in the world try to harm you. the facts show that having guns save many many lives & stop many violent attacks every year, i know on this show & in other places people try to distort these facts. the truth is people have guns to stop murders, not to murder people.. although there are a few number of people who use products for things they were intended for, but that happens in a free socierty

Hi Mary. A really good reason to have a rifle that you call assault rifle is if a person or several people break in your home, if they were armed or even if they werent, you could stop them with it. probably without even having to fire a shot because its an intimidating weapon.
there is a video out now on fox news showing armed criminals breaking into a home tax business & the guard pulls out an AR15 & the criminals run away. there were people in the room between the criminals & the guard , but the guard was able to fire the weapon without a big blast that comes from a shotgun. but as soon as the criminals saw what they were up against, they tried to get the heck out of there & numerous lifes were saved.

this actualy happens a lot & people always use AR15s for protection, except like 50 out of 350 million people use them to assault people.

      thanks

here i found the video. this is why people have AR15s. almost everybody who owns 1 has it for this reason only. notice how a shotgun wouldnt work because off the people around in the small room. also a pistol most likely would not have intimidated the criminals like this AR15 did.

CNN would like its viewers to get to know Piers Morgan, but for this viewer, I would rather have every tooth in my mouth extracted without Novocaine than to give this man my attention.

What I would like is for CNN to tell me why they hired him in the first place. Were there no Americans available?

"A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed"

I could not agree with you more Susan. What everyone is missing is that we have the right to form a Militia against the State if the State chooses to infringe upon our freedoms. If the military has more sophicated weaponry than what is allowed to the American people, it really becomes an oxy moron to bear arms in the first place. The right of the people should include the same sophisticated weaponry as military so that we may protect ourselves against a government who obviously has purchased Piers to run the propaganda in retreating from our rights as a people. We are a free country, and relating our rights to the rights in Britain is really obtrusive to the rights of the American people. Piers get off the payroll of the government already! It is extremely noticeable that you have been cultured to run this campaign against the American people. Your discussions prove that our rights are about to be taken away. As a mother of three who has never owned a gun, I now will have to exercise my 2nd amendment. Love the way that Biden jumps in to say we just need a shotgun. It is obvious now that every American should go buy an Assault Rifle since the government does not want the American people to be able to defend our Freedom!

You know, If america cares about their children and would put effort to pay and elect politicians to totally build a new compatible education system ( if we really care about our children then their next vacation), and we try to do something everyday to help ourselves get healthier ( for their children) and reduce the burden on the healthcare system, everyone deserves health care and has the right to start getting healthier. Quit using ( like the TEA PARTY idiots ) our forfathers in every speech they start which always puts every other american down and that persons above everyother American and they deserve their own personal wants. Our forefathers would hand the tea party by a tree and every other american who tries to divide the nation and be treasonist- seperatist and disrespectful to the nation, REALLY. theres a point.... Dear Piers, I respect you as a Journalist, but sometimes you ride over none-professional people being interviewed. Especially where guns are concerned. This just makes gun owners more nervous. Guns may be foreign to you, but they are not foreign to many Americans (hence the number of guns owned in this country). I (i know you have said that automatic ex-military weapons cannot be used for hunting) do hunt with my semi-auto 7.62 mm gun. I have pictures to prove this if you ARE INTERESTED,,,,,
If you spent just half as much energy and time finding a solution for the mentally ill in this country you'd be doing the entire nation a great service. As it stands today the mwentally ill (especially the dangerous mentally ill) almost get a free pass because of HHS and freedom of information act that does not allow important data to be entered into a national gun database. Ths mentally ill (in almost every recent case) are the ones who ARE KILLING. tHE SAD THING IS EVEN WITHOUT GUNS, THE MENTALLY ILL WILL CONTINUE TO KILL: EXAMPLED BY THE WOMAN IN NYC WHO PUSHED A STRANGER IN FRONT OF A TRAIN. Take guns away and the mentally ill will still poison, burn, blowup and push their fellow humans to their deaths. This is the issue. Sane gun owners have never been the issue.

I agree that our utmost focus in preventing mass killings should be on these individuals with psychological problems. We should change the way we view those who are mentally ill. The families of them are often faced with such stigma, a lot of times they feel embarrassed and can’t openly ask for help. We need to recognize that the mental illnesses are nothing different from suffering cancers, in many cases it’s not their fault that their brains don’t function normally. If we all can be more understanding and compassionate, that would encourage the families to get proper help for their troubled family members.

Also, if there are more adequate facilities, not jails, but more like rehabilitation centers for substance abuse, throughout the country readily available to the families of mentally ill or troubled, where they can take their family members without the worries of them being treated like criminals or receiving abuse from other criminals, where the families can trust that their troubled loved ones will be well taken care of by medical and psychiatric experts at almost no cost to them (state or federal-run), I think that could make a difference. That may help remove the threats of mentally-unstable individuals suddenly exploding and ending up harming others and themselves.

Morgan keeps dwelling on the gun control issue because it's the only way he can get any ratings...Morgan's half truths and twisted facts are to promote his ultra liberal anti gun agenda, and is nothing more then propaganda, and should not be believed to be anything factual., and what he conveniently leaves out could fill volumes with the true facts. After the gun confiscation and gun bans in the UK,that country has some of the highest crime rates in all of Europe and the gun violence there has doubled...So why doesn't the pompous arrogant Morgan go back home and preach to the Brits ??

If we replaced every child in the school with a bundle of $10,000 cash. That's $10,000 cash in each desk. 30 desks per classroom = $300,000 per classroom. 100 classrooms per school = $30,000,000 per school. Now, how do we guard the cash? With gun control? NO! With guns. If we take the guns out of the school would that not be saying that our children aren't even worth $10,000? The teachers need guns to protect our children, just like the banks need more than Brink's, Brink's is only as protective as their pistol. If you have something in your home, and would like to keep it as safe as you possibly can, I would suggest that you have a gun in your home.
Chicago is a gun free zone. Murder is illegal. Committing a crime with a gun is illegal. We already have gun control. It is illegal to have a bag of cocaine, has cocaine disappeared? Making guns illegal doesn't make them go away, making murder illegal doesn't make it go away.

You know, I never thought of owning a gun until this heated gun-control debate started. I’ve noticed pro-gun people tend to make much more logical and sensible arguments with numbers, stats and the knowledge of history, while anti-gun people’s arguments are mostly based on emotion (or hysteria)... As a result, I’ve come to respect the 2nd Amendmend so much that I’d like to exercise it myself now. So, Piers, I thank you for opening my eyes, and for making me realize that I don’t want to be on your side!

So, sm, how are you going to make criminals who are already in possession of guns register theirs?? People like you who post irrational and rude comments actually helped me turn 180 on the gun-control issue. So I should thank you too.

If you think you have not been rude with me and with others here, then, our definitions of “good manners” are diametrical. Mine doesn’t include name calling, insulting others, which I think are the classic mentality of the bully. To be a bully, you don’t have to physically fight, verbal abuse can hurt as much as a punch in the face.

Why not require a small transmitter to be attached to every gun, receivers at every school, mall, theater etc., stiff penalty for removed or non-operational units, at least as severe as removing the label from a mattress. Probably not practical but sounds good right now.

Piers interviewed Rorke Denver tonight who is one of the most experienced Navy Seals in the world. BUT instead of having an informative discussion about the Navy Seals - he chose instead to hammer on him with questions about CIVILIAN gun control. What a missed opportunity! I tuned in to hear Rorke talk about Naval Warfare in the world today (I am fasincated by his work in the movies and his book) and was disappointed by the bungled interview.

Unfortunately I think you have flogged it enough and continuing will only gather the gun addicts together and will fight you even more than now. Those who believe in it will not be influenced and the majority who agree with you have no influence with the Republican controlled Congress. The Americans deserve what they vote for, it is a strange country with strange people!

I applaud your effort to keep this conversation going, Piers, but I wish you would look at the statistics. I am in favor of a ban on assault rifles, semi automatic and automatic weapons as well as strict back ground checks, required gun safety training, gun registration and having a license to own a gun. However, statistically most of the 11,000 gun related murders are carried out with hand guns and statistically one is 44 times more likely to be shot by a family member or friend. The weapons you are fixated on are responsible for 2% of the deaths. These mass shootings – which are too frequent – get all the attention. I would also like to say that a conversation about mental illness is long overdue in this country. We have a long way to go to get back the services that were available 20- 30 years ago. Yes, mentally unstable or insane people do carry out crimes, but in general the gun death issue and mental health are two separate issues.

if AR15s are banned, people like in this video couldve easily been killed. notice how in real life how quick things happen & how many people could be around in a small room. a shotgun buckshot blast could hit these innocent people, a pistol couldve caused a shootout & just the site of the AR15 sent the armed criminals running & nobody had got shot or killed

Piers, why do people drive Lamborghini cars and fast vehicles? Do they need fast cars if they can't drive that fast anyways? There are laws that regulate speeding, drinking and driving and yet people continue to commit these crimes. Why don't you focus on the facts, like the fact that most of the people that committed these atrocities, were on antidepressants and highly medicated. Why protect the pharmaceutical companies that continue to drug America preventing them from having any type of emotion without the need to "cure" that feeling with a pill. If you're not too scared of answering these questions, or being paid to sway the public opinion, please provide an answer. Do some real investigative reporting and find out why all involved were being treated for depression or other psychological problems; and their doses were higher than they should have been.

Norman is a really in secure man isnt he. What the h*^l are you saying. Some people want to pretend their armymen during play time with their guns ( join up for the army why dont ya). Legal gun holders who have guns and can buy guns anytime are yet still crying out about their 2nd amendment right which is already working for them ( should those people have guns? just sayin, they dont get it) but still they yell out!! So what Get over it, Its going trough, new gun legislation ( national gun registry and private sales). We will be responcible for every stray bullet, and every negligant homicde if illegal! We will take our childrens safety back!!!! We will get rid of the sleazy gun show dealers and street sellers to crimanls, it will filter them out and away into history. We will tell our grandchildren and their children that america got loose and ignnorant and mess up big time with our gun control system, we gave away a gun to everybody in their cerael box!!!!!!! And a long time ago you could be slaughtered in your school classroom, at the bowling ally, or the theater. Oh and try going to the local corner quick stop store and try to buy something and not get attacked or shot on your way back to the car, and there was a 50 -50 chance you would come back alive. Yeah that was a crazy time when everyone wanted to manke a sport out of guns and shoot at anything moving. Yes Children wethe last century of americans F*^cked up big time. But we got smart and re-educated everyone and held everyone accoutable. Were going to sound foolish to the newest generations to come! Sleep on that america!

"But Grandpa Scott, why didn't the police help?"
"Well, child, the Supreme Court ruled a long time ago that the police have no duty to protect the people, only to enforce the law. Don't worry, though. I'm sure they'll catch those men that r4ped and killed your mother, and bring them to justice, which may be a 7 year sentence in a government facility where they eat, sleep, work out, and make criminal contacts and deals on the taxpayer's dollar."

Piers is blatantly lying when he says criminals find it hard to get guns in Britain, because of the strict gun laws. Piers you are a liar. As reported in.the British media reported gun crime and gun injuries have doubled in a decade since sweeping gun ban legislation. The British city of Manchester is commonly referred to in the media there as Gunchester, because of the amount of gun violence on its streets. Piers you call the NRA liars and perpetrators of violence, but you continue to lie about the facts and continue to promote the Sandy Hook shooter. Your show has become the biggest poster board for his heinous crime. You're a blithering fool Piers.

Yes I have lived in England before. You don't have to have lived in England to know that gun crime has more than doubled in the last decade since the gun ban there, because it's been well talked about in the British media. In addition to rising gun crime, despite the virtual ban, Britain now has the accolade of being named the violent crime capital of Europe.

@sm980268. Why would any gun owner trust a politician who wants a gun registry. There are too many examples in this country and abroad that confirms registration is a prelude to confiscation. The only reason why they could ban and confiscate guns in Britain was because they had a national registry. Apart from the criminals, they knew who owned the guns and where to collect them. Registration makes confiscation conveniently easy!

he disorts the facts on purpose. he says there is no guns in britain & nobody can find or get guns, so they only have 60 guns murders a year. then he compares those to the US statistics of 300,000,000 guns & 10,000 gun murders.

so if there are 0 guns in britain, he must mean the 60 murders are caused by 0 people using guns legally. so it could be said in America, there is 10,000 gun murders but we have 0 guns also.
        so case closed.
there are 0 guns in britain & 0 guns in America, just like he wants.

time to move on to other facts like how AR15 saves lives & stops criminals without anybody being shot & killed (including the criminals)

Have anyone noticed that Morgan asked each and everyone on his show about the the gun violence in America regardless of the purpose of the show. Last night he pressed the navy seal again and again about his opinion on gun control. What a empty headed you are, Morgan. Looking forward to it sm980268! The gun violence in this country is not about the number of guns we own, but about the huge levels of inequality that exist within our society. The Swiss for instance are the 3rd largest gun owning nation in the world, most of the firearms owned in Swiss homes are automatic assault rifles, and yet the Swiss have one of the lowest homicide rates on the planet. By comparison gun free Britain has a pet capita homicide rate that is 40% higher than Switzerland's. Go figure! With the 10s of millions of Americans who don't have health insurance, let alone car insurance, and the vast and growing gap between the rich and the poor is what is driving the high gun crime in this country, and nothing else. You're completely delusional if you think gun bans will have an impact.

I see why you are scared and you scare alot of AMERICA WITH YOUR ONE SIDED OPINION. GO HOME AND LIVE WHERE YOU THINK IT SAFE. WHY WERE THE BOBIES NOT SHOWN EVEN TO PARENTS. WHY MORGAN, WHY?? Maybe your scared to tell the truth, all your breaths are lies, lies and then more lies or i relly dont know is not a answer. I applaud your comment, Ms. Gish: I also think the "esteemed" Mr. Morgan should quietly slither back across the pond to his home – obviously under a rock. The purpose of the 2nd Amend. has nothing to do with hunting and everything to do with protecting the liberty of American citizens from the tyranny of American government. As for tanks, some people do own tanks, and some people do own fighter jets. To me a firearm is any weapon you can carry, but I would not ban the ownership of guns, tanks or fighters.

As stated by our vice president, I should buy a shotgun and just fire warning shots from my balcony when I’m fearful of home invaders. But a friend of mine who is a lawyer told me not to do that, since I could get arrested for endangering passersby. And another friend of mine who owns several guns told me that the ar-15 is actually easier to handle and aim, more effective and accurate in shooting only the perpetrators.

another nice thing about AR15s is that usually if a criminal, or group of criminals, armed or unarmed, breaks into your home or business, usually just the site of that will send them running & nobody will have to be shot.

Usually they dont even try to shoot their pistol when they see an intimidating gun like an AR15.

my permit to carry instructor also recommended a similiar thing when choosing a pistol to carry. he said its not good to have a gun that looks wimpy & doesnt look dangerous. if the criminal sees that type of pistol, they may need to be shot to be stopped. if you have a strong intimidating pistol , most likely they will know you mean business & will not need to be shot.

we are not trying to match firepower or have hopefully just enough for most situations.

most cases when guns are used to stop criminals , no shots are even fired. if shots are fired, usually its never more than two shots.
but there are situations like mine, where its a group of 5 or more people & you may need more ammunition. especially ifthey have multiple guns or you are caught in the middle of something & police back up cant get to the spot quickly.

The video has not infringed any copyright issues. It is still available from the same YouTube account. Do we have a free press in America? I think not!

that is a good video. thats what i was just telling someone. who are these politicians that think they can tell us what to do. we elected them & they are suppose to do what we say or we elect someone else.

glad the NRA is helping protect our 2nd Ammendment when the politicians spend so much money to try to take it away from us.

I just have 2 question for piers. 1ST all these deaths by assault weapons or guns, HOW MANY OF THEM WERE COMMITTED BY A LEGAL LAW ABIDING PERMIT CARRING CITIZEN??? 2ND IF YOUR SO AGAINSTS GUNS, WHY DONT YOU GO BACK TO BRITIAN???? THEY HAVE YOUR KIND OF LAWS!!!!!

you know thats a very important point here, when piers tries to compare britain & the usa in his rants about guns.

he has said there are 0 guns in britain, & 60 gun murders.

he could also same the same about the USA , there is 0 guns in USA & 10,000 gun murders.

because he must not be talking abou t' physical' guns because that would be impossible, he must be talking about people who use guns 'illegally'. because its impossible to have 0 gun murders if there are 0 physical guns obviously.

so if he really was so worried about this issue, he should stop worrying because he already has want he wants to he can feel safeB
0 legally used guns that cause murder in Britain. 0 legally used guns that cause murders in America.
