Tonight: Mark O'Mara and Antonio Mendez in a pair of live interviews

One year to the day since the tragic death of Florida teen Trayvon Martin, this evening "Piers Morgan Tonight" welcomes Mark O'Mara, a man slated to play an enormous role in a story that has captivated the nation since it broke, and figures to gain that much more public traction and scrutiny when the case goes to trial this summer.

Representing George Zimmerman – the man who shot and killed Martin on February 26, 2012 – O'Mara has been interviewed numerous times by Piers Morgan during the course of the last 12 months, in the past touching upon everything from the case's racial undertones to steadying his moral compass while soliciting funds for his clients defense.

Tonight's live, exclusive interview with criminal defense and family law attorney comes one night after the "Piers Morgan Tonight" host welcomed the parents of the late Trayvon Martin, as part of a conversation on gun violence and this evening's candlelight ceremony New York.

In addition to O'Mara, meanwhile, tonight Morgan will also welcome the man who literally wrote the book on "Argo." Less than two days since the film captured the Academy Award as the year's top movie, former CIA officer Antonio Mendez will join the program with candid context on the story that has earned itself a place in pop culture history.

Tune in this evening at 9 for O'Mara and Mendez, two men who find themselves in the midst of two of the country's most-polarzing slices of subject matter.

dear piers, do you ever look at facts b4 making dumb statements? how do you solve coyote/wolf problems? can you show a country that has strict gun control laws that isn't as violent as great britain? as us peace loving americans would rather carry a gun than live in a country so violent towards women as great britain! sometimes watching your show I really think you are stupid in how you are anti peace and are always trying to make criminals safer! I can build a gun fully automatic with a unlimited belt feed...how would you stop an individual from getting a gun if they can build? and ps gun makers will not side with an oppressive govt as they have already pledged their services in the name of peace!

Why give voice to the craziess? When you interview people like the pizza guy you give credence to the absurd. He is looking for free publicity and has received it in spades. His voice does not need to be given a megaphone. The media needs to look at who they are giving the microphone to.

It was absolutely disgusting the way you brought a small business owner on to your show and try to embarrass him on national television just because his view is different than yours. DISGUSTING!!! And then you had the nerve to wish him bad fortune and failure? Go back where you came from if you dont like OUR country. Sincerely, Matthew J Cupps

I was just watching the interview Piers Morgan had with the father of a Sandy Hook victim. In conversation with the father he described the victim as " being blown to pieces" I can't believe the lack of compassion/ sympathy Piers exhibited in making a comment like that to a grieving father. Sad commentary regarding journalism today.

Scott, your comments don't change the facts about Piers comments. Speaking of bad governing. Do you recall the recent killing of the Volunteer Firefighters with and AR-15 in New York State? The killer had previously been incarcerated for killing his grandmother. What kind government lets a guy like that out of prison, if he would have been hanged like he should have two good men would still be alive. Think it through.

        Kurt from Idaho,
The person you speak of did not buy that weapon legally; I fail to see how the obtaining of weapons illegally can be compared to the legal purchase and use of firearms by law abiding Americans. To rest all pro gun propaganda on the tragedies that have taken place over the past few years is preposterous; pro gun advocates are failing to report the incidents where a law abiding citizen has used legally obtained firearms to protect themselves from criminals and psychopaths during the same time frame. Law abiding citizens protect their families, businesses, and homes with these weapons.

Piers, It is with such pain that I just watch you try to reason the pizza shop owner who is giving a discount to customers who are "packing". As an American, I am sorry that you have discovered America's dirty little secret. The dumbing down of America has given us an entire population of Americans who are not educated enough to be logical. They have gotten most of their education from talk radio and a certain group of politicians love these people. We keep them frightened, uneducated, under employed and convince them that all of their problems are due to minorities invading the country. I love what you are trying to do but it won't work. You are trying to talk to the Village idiots.

Again, the left continues to name call in order to support their "opinions". I believe this is uncalled for; you are over generalizing. I am a College Professor whom happens to be "Pro-Gun". I am highly educated with two Master degrees, three bachelor degrees, and a PHd. I believe that many republicans are extremely educated and belittling us as a whole does not accomplish much but show a level of ignorance and lack of willingness to hear others view points and beliefs.

DavidS.......you are either a liar or you did not get any of your so-called degrees in ENGLISH!! It is NOT "whom", but "who". And a PhD is shortened this way, not YOUR way.

What a maroon!! Oh, and I can spell b/c I am Canadian, which is half British and ever so much more intelligent. Bwa ha ha!!

Do you have anything intelligent to say or are you just going to bash on me for making one gramatical error? Having degrees does not make one perfect but rather educated. Showing ignorance by name calling does not even show a level of education.

Merely pointing out that you are not quite as educated as you seem to think you are. And I have family members who are professors who are also lousy at spelling. You had 2 errors in the first comment and yet another in #3. Sheesh, do Americans not own dictionaries??

You spelled "grammatical" wrong btw and "maroon" is slang for an idiot......probably having its roots in Spanish (marone)

My point is that Piers is right and you Yanks are wrong with your inexplicable fetish for carrying guns. Time for you to realize that this is not the late 1700's and your 2nd Amendment was meant to arm a simple militia, not to allow you to carry a concealed weapon or assault weapon 200+ years later.

Educated in politics and other areas within my expertise cannot be compared to misspelling a word or two or making one grammatical error. It is ridiculous to tell someone whom has 279 credit hours of college education that they are not educated based on that alone. When you look at textbooks and journal articles by experts in all fields, one will find errors. This does not in any way take away from their intelligence. Plus, I think it is a very bold and blanket statement to state that the British are intellectually superior to all Americans. Even blue collar workers have intelligence in their areas of expertise. Can you replace a head gasket on your vehicle, wire a home to code, or properly lay a tile floor? This does not apply only to Americans but people from all nations. The world would be a better place if everyone were more respectful.

As a CNN viewer from outside the US. It is stunning how Americans hold on to their weapons in 2013. The image you are presenting to the world through CNN is that you live in an extremely violent country where the citizens are killing each other in their homes as well as your streets of your cities at an alarming rate.

It is shocking to the rest of the civilized world to see the US as such a violent country. It seems everyone walks around with guns deciding who lives or dies depending on how much they feel threatened. In your homes you claim to want to arm your self against intruders, I guess alarm systems are not sold in your country. Nor does that explain why the vast majority of gun deaths in the home are a result of domestic violence. Everyone says they kept their guns locked up. Obviously they don't. Students kill each other, your answer arm the teachers. Bullets, guns in Walmart. As easy as buying toothpaste. It is a sad commentary on your country.

Hundreds of millions of weapons & you keep buying more.

It must be truly frightening to live in the USA.

the second amendment guarantees the right to "keep and bear arms" it does not state that we only have the right to keep arms in our homes. Perhaps you should read the amendment word for word. We cannot pick and choose the words that best support our opinion but rather we must read and analyze the text as a whole.

    Piers
Will you not give a person the chance to answer
There is a gap between what you say and when they hear it
You start talking while they are hearing your question
That really doesn't matter because when you want to prove YOUR point you are not interested in their answer
you try to ask, answer and insult the person at the same time
You are the worst interviewer I have ever heard
I watch you just to see how bad you are and how you insult and treat your guests
I can't believe that they take your insultive questioning
You have one point, some stats and drive them in and on and on and on and on and on
You should get the point but oh you are not listening
You are like a drunk who is walking -their head is ahead of their body. You make a face as if you are mad.
You are an interviewer and people are there to give their opinion (which you never like)
You need to take the hard toast out of your ass and relax
If you want and you need, some tips on interviewing give me a call

    Mr. Morgan,
I concur with a lot of your views on our gun laws. When did common sense become an oxymoron in our country. the NRA and their supporter always quote the second part of the 2nd amendment...

, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.

but miss what our forefathers meant...
A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State,

that in a time in our history when we only had a volunteer army it was BYOG (bring your own gun) our young country could not afford an army yet, much less weapons for one. FYI the volunteer fire Dept. required their participants to have axes, buckets and ladders.

THEY SAY we must protect ourselves against our own government! Our forefathers did consider this and created many checks and balances in our system SO THIS COULD NEVER HAPPEN. starting with the Presidential oath, which lets
the people remove him if the violates our will. NEXT in our two party system both would have to fully support the Presidents overthrow, c'mon people don't make me keep list all the FACTS why this notion is crazy...

Bollocks!!!! As a proud Canadian, let me reiterate.......WE were the ones that saved the Americans' collective asses and I get so damn tired of the US always either taking credit for things they shouldn't or totally ignoring us, I have a better idea for an interview.......get Ken Taylor and the Sheardowns on your show and ask them what REALLY happened.

I remember the whole incident well and I for one will not go to see Argo the movie. I prefer the truthful version and Hollywood has no frickin' clue as to what the word "truth" means. Pardon my language, as we Canadians are really more British than American (thank God), but we as a nation are really ticked!!!!

Btw, we also have proper gun control laws and don't bleat about 200 yr old Amendments to justify blowing someone's head off. Keep on about gun control because I sure don't understand the Americans and their love affair with assault weapons!!

    And one other thing..............
I don't know who the woman was with Antonio Mendez, but it was pretty obvious that she was none too pleased with what former President Carter had to say about the whole "Argo" story. Her nose was so far out of joint it wasn't even in the picture. How about Ken Taylor, his family and his team of Canadians noses should be out of joint. Mr. Affleck should be ashamed of himself, but instead he pats himself on the back for having thrown out an "also ran" ribbon in Mr. Taylor's direction.
I and millions of Canadians say thank-you to the former President for some straight talk and for giving credit where credit is due...................so there.

The SPD was trying to sweep Trayvon's murder under the rug, and society refused to let that happen. Nobody modified the NEN 911 call. ABC redacted portions of the NEN 911 call to condense for time slot and the defense is trying to use that to send a false message to the public. The investigating Detective on the case originally asked for charges of Murder 2, he then changed it to suggesting Manslaughter – when the governor realized that there were issues with SPD, he appointed a special prosecutor to investigate and she determined that the defendant should be charged with Murder 2 and he is currently awaiting trial on that charge. If you want to see and hear the evidence for yourself go to: http://trayvon.axiomamnesia.com/

Now, here we have a defense attorney that is trying to get the Trial continued because he "needs more time" and "more money." Instead of working on the case, he and the GZ family are busy conducting media tours in an attempt to spread the defendant's false message and pander for more money after having spent over a quarter of a million dollars in donations on delinquent bills, smart phones, a 5 bdrm house with a view. GZ has profited and is averaging an estimated $125,000 per year for murdering Trayvon Martin and wants society to continue to fund his new life style of not working and eating.

Trayvon was a minor who did nothing wrong and the lack of any of GZ's DNA on Trayvon proves that. Go to the above link and read and hear for yourself what the evidence and witnesses say. You will be disgusted that GZ and O'Mara continue to have no remorse and use Trayvon's death for profit.

Piers, having listened to your passoinate views about gun control I wonder why you don't have the same passion for other deadly american habits. Let's take Alcohol for instance, no one NEEDS Alcohol any more than they NEED an assault rifle yet more children are killed by Alcohol related deaths, (drunk driving, etc.) than by Assaults weapons. Over half of violent crimes and domestic violence is committed by individuals are under the influence of Alcohol. . I am curious do you use Alcohol and do you support a ban on it. If you apply your logic on Assault Weapons to Alcohol for instance I would expect to see you speaking out against it's use with the same passion. Alcohol kills about 85,000 Americans every year. There are 300,000 incidents of Drunk Driving daily in America. One person is killed every 48 minutes in an alcohol related car wreck. 3 million acts of violence are committed by drunk people every year. 25% of workplace accidents are alcohol caused. 6000 teenagers are killed in Drunk driving incidents every year. If you want to save lives you should realize that assault weapons aren't nearly as dangerous as alcohol. Again Piers I wonder if you drink Alcohol and support a ban on it.

I am another Canadian who is boycotting the movie "Argo" because it is 90% false (as former President Carter explained) - just a typical display of American bravado (mostly lies). I agree with those who suggest that you interview Ken Taylor and other "real" people who were involved in this much-lauded CANADIAN story (with a little help from the U.S. CIA). How can Americans be so arrogant as to rewrite history to make them look like the "heroes"? We shouldn't be surprised, as it happens so frequently. You can "thank Canada" all you want, Ben Affleck, but 30 million Canadians are thumbing their noses at you!

Please don't forget all the great Canadians who have blessed America with their infinite talent, Pam Anderson, William Shatner, Shania Twain, Lover Boy, Brian Adams, on and on.
