Need to Know News: Rand Paul's #filiblizzard filibuster; Yahoo's Marissa Mayer gets $1.1 million bonus

Each day, we here at "Piers Morgan Tonight" put together the news you need to know – from what happened last night to what will happen today.

For March 7, 2013 – Rand Paul's #filiblizzard filibuster, Yahoo's Marissa Mayer gets $1.1 million bonus and Jon Stewart to take time off from 'Daily Show' to direct a feature film...

• Rand Paul's #filiblizzard filibuster: "Sen. Rand Paul ended his day-long filibuster at 12:38 a.m. Thursday, almost 13 hours after he began speaking. The Kentucky Republican tried to stall a confirmation vote on CIA Director nominee John Brennan."

• Yahoo's Marissa Mayer gets $1.1 million bonus: "Yahoo CEO Marissa Mayer received a $1.12 million cash bonus for her half-year on the job in 2012 and restricted stock worth another $13.3 million, according to company filings."

• A look at possible papal contenders: "Technically, any adult Catholic male can be elected to the papacy, but the last pope not chosen from the College of Cardinals was Urban VI in 1379. The cardinals who seem to be front-runners to replace the current pope are referred to as 'papabile,' or translated from the Italian, 'pope-able.'"

North Korea at it again with threats: "With the U.N. Security Council set to vote on a resolution to strengthen sanctions on North Korea, Pyongyang unleashed its latest bout of fiery rhetoric, this time threatening its enemies with the possibility of a 'preemptive nuclear attack.'"

Jon Stewart to take time off from 'Daily Show,' to direct feature film: "Host Jon Stewart will take an eight-week hiatus from 'The Daily Show With Jon Stewart' beginning in June, Comedy Central announced Tuesday."

How much does it cost the taxpayer(s) for Sen. Rand Paul to talk for 13 hours when a simple NAY or Yes will do?

      - In response to Sen. Rand Paul's 13-hour filibuster, Attorney General Eric Holder sends letter clarifying that the president does not have the authority to use a drone to kill a noncombatant American citizen on U.S. soil.

So it worked! It is not a waste of anything to ensure that American citizens’ fundamental rights are not threatened in any way.

In all criminal prosecutions, the accused shall enjoy the right to a speedy and public trial, by an impartial jury of the State and district wherein the crime shall have been committed, which district shall have been previously ascertained by law, and to be informed of the nature and cause of the accusation; to be confronted with the witnesses against him; to have compulsory process for obtaining witnesses in his favor, and to have the Assistance of Counsel for his defense.

AAAHHH,, I can hear the lyrics in my head now,,,my favorite TV show as a kid in Ohio, North of Dayton in New Carlisle.
" Daniel Boone was a man,,,yes a Big Man,,With an Eye like an Eagle and tall as a mouintain was he ",,,...The Biggest missing piece in this puzzle to me is set off by this Johny – Come – Lately idealism in our daily lives. In this trap dwelling in the "New World Order " against our will , by the people , of the people, and for the people American Heritage is being forgotten example is my school years daily start when the class said "I pledge alligiance to the Flag of the United States of America. and to the republic for which its stands , one nation under God indivisable with liberty and Justice for all" and you know I'm right,,no excuses for me " you ?
