Traci Lords on the Steubenville rape case: "They treated her like she was an animal ...they're carrying her around like she's a pig"

As the rape trial in Steubenville continues to divide a community, on Thursday evening "Piers Morgan Live" invited Traci Lords to share her unique insight and unparalleled perspective.

A native of the small Ohio city, Lords herself was a rape victim at the age of 10, and shows little sympathy for the teens accused of perpetuating a similar nightmare nearly 35 years later:

"Absolutely not," Lords quickly proclaims when asked if she feels any sympathy for the young boys accused of sexually abusing the alleged victim, a 16-year-old girl. "They treated her like she was an animal. They're carrying her around like she's a pig. They urinated on her. What they did, it's hard for me to even believe that we're talking about children, it's so ugly."

Forty-four years old, a mother, and long removed from an infamous career as an adult film star, Lords is outraged by the events that are said to have occurred at several end-of-summer parties:

"I keep asking myself today, you know, where were the parents? What were they thinking?" Lords said to Piers Morgan. "It's not even human. It's outrageous. It's ugly. It's heartbreaking."

Watch the clip, and listen to the interview, as the woman born Nora Louise Kuzma adds more context to the complicated case quickly becoming one of the most-polarizing in the country.

I would like to see Nora use her real name. Her adult actress name was Traci Lords. More people know her by that name, but that is not what she does anymore. She is cool, and just as hot today as she was when she was an adult film star. You go girl. I totally agree with what you said in the interview. I have no sympathy for those jerks either! They need to pay the consequences for what they did.

If you are so pro women though, respectfully, why do you find it necessary to include that she is "hot". It degrades her comment.

She tried using her real name professionally for a while, and then she was accused of misrepresenting herself (!): "We didn't know THAT'S who you were!" So that's when she changed it legally to Traci Elizabeth Lords. Read her book, Underneath It All, to find out about that.

Does it matter what name she uses? Are you going to tell Modonna to use her real name from now on?

As Madonna IS her actual real first name (AND and name of her mother), that's not really a problem.

You DO realize she was a minor for the VAST majority of her "career" don't you? Kind of makes you out to be a pervert.

Do you feel this girl has no right to an attorney? Do you really think that what these boys did should go unprosecuted?

I would not be at all surprised to hear "mom's" drunken daughter explain how "mom's" parenting style drove her to the bottle.

1st, Her film stage name comes across better then her real birth name. No different than all the other mainstream movie stars. 2nd, Yes, the parents should have been better involved in the kids lives but when it comes down to it, it's these kids fault. What were they thinking.. Why did they do what they did.. I don't think any greater involvement from the parents would have helped curtail the event. I hope they rot in heck for what they did. It was so wrong on so many levels of humanity..

I am sitting here in Scottsdale on Spring Break with my daughter and her friend. Both have come from very different backgrounds but both have survived High School and are now Freshwomen in College. Neither is a pig though they have both dealt with all the pressures of teen drinking and attend college where pot is now legal. Judge the children the way you have been judged (hopefully), each on their own merits and not as a group.

Everyone is missing the REAL problem. Alcohol, lots and lots of alcohol was consumed by all of those kids. All of them I am sure. Or most of them. Maybe even drugs. Yeah think! That is where the real problem lies. Would those boys, all of them at that party have behaved in that manner had it not been for being under the influence of alcohol. AGAIN!!!! ALCOHOL DESTROYS LIVES.

The fundamental problem is the lack of values instilled by the parents. I'm not talking about some phony religious nonsense, but it's respect for other human beings. When kids live in a home where respect and kindness are not present, they have no moral compass. If a mother does not respect her son, then he will not respect women in general. Sames goes for everyone else.

Ms Tracy Lords has my respect and admiration. Ms. Lords' moral compass is 100% spot on SOUND. The reality of this situation is seen clearly by Ms. Lords and Ms. Allred and Mr Morgan. The attorney for the convicted rapist is a worm, The attorney for the convicted rapist MaLik, has a warped sense of reality. This guy needs to have his head examined, and be disbarred. The atty is a racist black, he is disgusting and ignorant. I am sure he thinks O.J. Simpson is innocent of killing Nicole Brown and Ron Goldman. He is one of many in the African American population and it is why when the O.J. Simpson trial ended, we all saw how the black do not care about anything but their own race and that is bigotry and racism. Any injustice suffered by a white person is justified in the minds of most blacks in this country. And that is disgusting and why we need to protect the 2nd amendment and not trust the govt to protect us.

I can't believe Mom's comments. Historically, teens experiment with alcohol. And from time to time they get drunk. Does that give men the right to forcefully ram their penis and fingers in this girl. To ejaculate in and over her body and possibly get her pregnant? To urinate on her? How many of you women out there have been drunk in your life including mom? Not think that it's your fault if this happend to you.

Why does this article refer to this case as polarizing? Is there seriously anyone out there that think these teens/young men got a bum rap?

There is certainly SOME irony in Traci Lords talking about how these degenerates treated the victim like an animal. Traci has done her part in helping society objectify women – that's a fact.

Lords deserves very little sympathy herself. Please do your HOMEWORK on this woman folks before you put her on some kind of pedestal. The truth is she's STILL yet to show any real remorse for her own past indiscretions and probably never will. Seek out those who TRULY have earned their fame in an honorable fashion... The real luminaries are the ones who EARNED it.

The girl was behaving like a pig? When are pigs drunken and unconscious - and very possibly drugged?

And who needs to learn bad behavior when they're being judged within an inch of their lives all the time...

Sorry, mom, but I disagree. I grew up in a small town, played sports, hung out at parties and my parents taught me that if a girl isn't able to make her own decisions, I have no right to make those decisions for her. Doesn't matter if she partied until she passed out. Every guy there should STILL KNOW BETTER.

We can also make the argument that her girlfriends should have looked out for her. There is no excuse for anyone in this situation, but especially NOT THE GUYS. They all should know better.

I agree with everything you stated Mom. I don't know why Piers Morgan put 2 but might as well say 3 people (P. Morgan being the 3rd), to sit there and try to beat down the attorney of the one young man over whether the apology was real or fake! The young man sincerely apologize for his actions face to face to the young victim and her mother. Why is Piers and the other 2 rude ass women jumping on the attorney over that! Everyone was wrong for drinking under the legal age limit, kids do dum stuff at times. It doesn't matter whether they were raised up right or wrong, THEY AT SOME POINT OF THERE TEENAGE LIFE WILL DO SOMETHING WRONG! Majority they won't make a mistake as big as this one. Some minds ma tour after faster than others cause they think abut the consequent first before they take actions. Some think about their actions after they have received their consequent.
