With one of golf's premier events soon to tee off from Georgia, this evening "Piers Morgan Live" welcomed reigning Masters champ Bubba Watson to share his trademark brand of candid commentary and quick-wit in a live, primetime interview.
Having shocked the world with a dramatic victory at Augusta National in 2012, Watson now faces the challenge of defending his title against a field which will include a suddenly red-hot, 14-time major champion:
"Tiger Woods is back, and on the prowl," noted Piers Morgan, of the man who has recently reclaimed his position atop golf's rankings. "How you gonna beat him?"
"Hopefully he gets sick," joked the 34-year-old Florida native. "I don't think anybody knows how to beat him. It's one of those things where we want to go out there and play our best. I'm going to go out and play my best, and hopefully it's good enough to beat him. And hopefully he's not on his best."
Always emotional, Watson went on to speak of his family, including his now 14-month-old son Caleb, and the ways in which his life off the course helps to shape the man who steps between the ropes:
"When you have a child, it changes everything. It changes perspective on life, it changes perspective on your sport, so for me, that's what's changed me. It's making me a better, complete person. It's making me a better husband, a better dad. I'm learning every day with our child," he explained. "To go back and try to defend with my family there, my child there, it's going to be an honor, and a privilege, and I can't wait to put on that green jacket one more time before we tee it up there."
Watch the clip, and listen to the interview, as Watson explains why buying Woods' former house was the right decision for him and his family.
